Obama Claims Terrorist Dictator is Israel’s Best Chance for Peace

This comes from the Jeffrey Goldberg interview with Obama which hits all the same old notes.

If Israel doesn’t make a deal with Abbas, it will be more isolated than ever and Obama won’t be able to “protect” it. Settlement growth is out of control, Obama claims, when it’s barely a blip on the radar.

Obama criticizes Israel, but not the Palestinian Authority. Instead he praises Abbas.

Obama made it clear that he views Abbas as the most politically moderate leader the Palestinians may ever have. It seemed obvious to me that the president believes that the next move is Netanyahu’s.

OBAMA: I believe that President Abbas is sincere about his willingness to recognize Israel and its right to exist, to recognize Israel’s legitimate security needs, to shun violence, to resolve these issues in a diplomatic fashion that meets the concerns of the people of Israel. And I think that this is a rare quality not just within the Palestinian territories, but in the Middle East generally…

In that kind of environment, where you’ve got a partner on the other side who is prepared to negotiate seriously, who does not engage in some of the wild rhetoric that so often you see in the Arab world when it comes to Israel, who has shown himself committed to maintaining order within the West Bank and the Palestinian Authority and to cooperate with Israelis around their security concerns — for us to not seize this moment I think would be a great mistake.

International diplomats have been advising Israel to “seize this moment” for twenty years.

1. Obama claims that Abbas is sincere about recognizing Israel – Abbas keeps repeating that he won’t recognize Israel.

2. Obama claims that Abbas will shun violence when he has personally welcomed terrorists, called them heroes and continues spending fortunes on paying salaries to imprisoned terrorists.

And we are talking here about terrorists who committed crimes after peace negotiations began and who murdered civilians and who are even members of Hamas.

3. Abbas refuses to run for reelection, to appoint an independent Prime Minister or hold a session with an elected legislature. He does not control Gaza. He only controls the West Bank with terrorist militias.

4. Abbas has said that he is the same as Hamas.

President Abbas told a Russian interviewer, “As far as I am concerned, there is no difference between our policies and those of Hamas. So why are they labeled as terrorists?”

Any more questions about Obama’s choice for Israel’s peace partner?

Netanyahu needs to stand firm and point Obama and Kerry in the direction of larger problems such as Syria, Ukraine, North Korea, Iran. Oh I forgot they only come down harshly on their allies. They placate their enemies.

Someone needs to take one of Obama’s nine-irons to his cranium.

It’s like we’re in a time warp back to 1938 and Israel is the new Czechoslovakia.

Netanyahu to Obama…”What you talking about, fool?”

Obama believes in a “final solution” to his Jewish “problem”.
He got the idea from another historic world leader of the past.
He wants Israel to return to its 1967 borders and allow the “Palestinian right of return”. In other words, he wishes Jews would commit national suicide.

    • truebearing

His threat to israel is reduced, or eliminated, American support. Given how Obama has honored other promises to defend our allies, it isn’t much of a threat.

    • Veracious_one

In other words, Israelis should quietly surrender and allow themselves to be massacred wholesale by “Palestinian” jihadists

        Barry would be so happy.

Anyone who believes Abbas or any other Palestinian leader would honor any agreement they sign with Israel is a fool. Therefore Obama and Perry are fools.

Not fools but liers and traitors.

Why not trust a leader of a people that straps bombs on women and children for the purpose of killing more women and children? He’s a man of peace practising a religion of peace in the peace filled Middle East. You can trust Obama. He would never lie.

Whether you believe the Bible or not, it is an ancient written document showing Israel’s claim to the land in question. Netanyahu is by far one of the most powerful leaders in the world, leaving Obama wetting in his pants.
