“Obama Doesn’t Think Too Much Should Be Read into Election Results”

obama-biden-facepalm

No big deal. Just your party losing its Senate majority because of you. A historic landslide gives the GOP the biggest share of the House in almost a century.

75 percent of voters think you need to rethink your policies.

Don’t read too much into it.

Despite losing the Senate, Obama doesn’t think too much should be read into election results from a handful of states that never approved of his job performance in the first place.

That’s right. You guys never liked me anyway. I don’t care what you think!

Obama acknowledges that he needs to do better, and he will make modest adjustments to his staffing, messaging and legislative strategy in response.

How modest of him.

But he won’t pivot to the right, as he did after his self-proclaimed shellacking in 2010, White House officials said in interviews this week.

By “pivot to the right”, he means express occasional concern over his own massive national debt… without actually meaning it.

Obama will strike a tone of compromise and accountability during his public remarks Wednesday

He’ll strike the tone after just announcing that he doesn’t mean it.

Obama won’t back down from using his administrative powers, including plans to issue an executive order on immigration that could be the most aggressive unilateral action of his presidency. He’ll adhere to a progressive agenda that, officials said, will keep the base excited, position his party to win back the Senate and hold the White House in 2016, and seal his legacy.

All hail the Emperor.

Who cares about the legislators. He still has another two years of rule in which he can do anything he wants and taunt Congress and the Supreme Court to stop him.

“You can’t lose your base,” a second senior administration official said. “There are policy things we are going to have to support where the base isn’t there. But you’ve got to keep your eye on your base.”

I hope the Republicans remember that message.

He might well consider that a better legacy would be to do good things for the bulk of country and the 70% of Americans that think he’s put us on the wrong track rather than exciting his base of race, class and gender grievance-mongers at the expense of those people.

    • JayWye

Comrade Obama DOES NOT try to do “good things” for America.
He does exactly the opposite. Every chance he gets.

      • kasandra

Yes, I agree. I was just trying to posit that if he is so worried about his legacy there is a better way for him to secure a decent legacy than by trying to excite his unsatisfiable base.

Obama isn’t in the Whitehouse to do good things. He thinks being on the “right side of history” is doing what he wants, especially if it hurts his enemies, who are legion. The danger for us, and the world, is that a malignant narcissist like Obama will feel more and more like lashing out and punishing those who fail to adore him, as that list mushrooms. The more people that reject him, the greater his need for revenge. Obama could easily end up feeling that humanity as a whole deserves punishment. Narcissists suffer great rage when denied their “needs.”

A person must never offer an opinion unless they have a PhD related to the topic they are going to opine on.

For instance Al Gore does not have a PHD in climate science. So he must STFU!

          • hiernonymous

It’s good to understand how much someone actually knows about a topic on which he’s holding forth. When Al Gore offers opinions on climate science, we should ask what the basis of his opinions are, sure.

Do you still generally support the moves Obama has made?

          Do you support executive amnesty?

Is your support predicated on the fact that your wife is Hispanic?

Is your wife an illegal? I sincerely doubt it, because you married here while you were on active duty.

          • hiernonymous

Relevance of any of your questions to the post to which you are responding?

          • Pete

Obama is going to issue or threatening to issue executive amnesty.

You are on record saying that you generally like Obama’s decisions on a range of issues.

So chances are good that you would support his executive amnesty decision. So I ask you bluntly if having a Hispanic wife has anything to do with it.

P.S. I know you have a Hispanic, wife because you posted such information 3 months ago. It was in regards to the conviction of a white racists who got all spun up of the Trayvon Martin Incident.

          • hiernonymous

You still haven’t linked your questions to the post in question. TB was holding forth on a diagnosis of narcissism and a prognosis; you embarked on a convoluted chain of illogic that assumes that approval of some of a politician’s policies is prima facie evidence of approval of all of his future policies, and then dragging my family’s ethnicity into it. I ask again, how is any of this relevant to TB’s post or my response?

          • Pete

Obama’s future policies are going to notably shift from his past policies?

You are doing stand up comedy now?

The only reason Obama has not done amnesty already by hook or by crook is because he wanted to limit political damage to him and his party.

Now when you wrote that you generally agreed with what Obama has done, it was a well known fact that Obama is going to do amnesty come he!! or high water.
so when you throw your support or offer your support (in posts) behind Obama, who are in effect supporting amnesty.

Now Texas Patriot supports amnesty but you don’t see me getting in his face. There must a reason for it, because I have gone multiple rounds with him in the past and will again.

Maybe the difference is why you are here and why he is here.

          • hiernonymous

“Obama’s future policies are going to notably shift from his past policies?

You are doing stand up comedy now?”

What were Mr. Obama’s past policies on amnesty, and what sort of opinion did I offer concerning those policies?

“…so when you throw your support or offer your support (in posts) behind Obama, who are in effect supporting amnesty.”

Presumably, you recognize how silly that is. Expressing general satisfaction with the job a politician is doing is not a policy-by-policy endorsement of either past or future policies, and it’s risible to suggest otherwise. You’re flailing.

“Now Texas Patriot supports amnesty but you don’t see me getting in his face. There must a reason for it, because I have gone multiple rounds with him in the past and will again.

Maybe the difference is why you are here and why he is here.”

I don’t much care if you are “in my face.” I don’t much care if you post aggressively. I’ll respond as I would to any other post – to wit, try to separate the logic from the bluster, address the former and either ignore the latter or point it out for what it is. So far, this excursion has been pretty short on logic.

And you still haven’t linked your amnesty imaginings to the narcissims posts to which you appended them.

          • Pete

It is clear that Obama did not move on amnesty to limit political fallout. His views on the subject are known.

Texas Patriot and I have the same view more or less about amnesty. There are 1 maybe 2 points we may disagree about on amnesty. I don’t expect you to know all my posts but you were assuming from the post before this one that I was staunchly anti-amnesty.

Let’s face it. The Democrats and Obama could have gotten amnesty in 2009 or 2010. They refused to do it. The did 2 things. First, they refused the political risk. Second, they absolutely refused to enforce the border.

One can imply that have amnesty II, Obama wants amnesty III, amnesty IV and Amnesty forever or AE (like QE). That is one of my big problems I have with the steaming pile of horse excrement that occupies the office of president.

Instead of enforcing the border Obama had radio ads encouraging people to cross the border.

Michael Medved has on occasion had article or opinion piece at FPM. He takes a fair amount of heat but he sticks to his guns. He is just one such radio host. Jerry Doyle had John Bradshaw Layfield on his show . Mr Layfield endorsed amnesty. Jerry Doyle absolutely hates illegal immigration. But I bet he supports amnesty, if the border was secured.

Anyway Mr Obama’s views on amnesty are known. His dereliction of the border is well known. It is also well know that you generally support what he has done.

So it is a fair question to asks you if being married to a Hispanic influenced your support for amnesty.

          • hiernonymous

” I don’t expect you to know all my posts but you were assuming from the post before this one that I was staunchly anti-amnesty.”

100% incorrect. I have exactly no interest in your position on amnesty, and have expressed no such interest. To date, my involvement in the conversation, as far as you are concerned, is to try to establish some logical link between my response to a comment about Mr. Obama’s alleged narcissism and your tangent on amnesty.

“Anyway Mr Obama’s views on amnesty are known. His dereliction of the border is well known. It is also well know that you generally support what he has done.

So it is a fair question to asks you if being married to a Hispanic influenced your support for amnesty.”

Repetition is not response. I invited you to identify a previous Obama policy on amnesty and to link that to any opinion I had offered on that policy. If you were able to do both, you might have some basis for making some sort of assumption about my receptiveness to a hypothetical Obama future policy on the same. You’ve not done so. You do realize by now that rating a politician as generally favorable cannot be equated to “approves of all policy positions that politician might take in the future?”

Is that starting to sink in?

Obama had his first major wake up call on September 11, 2012 when the rebels we assisted in overthrowing Gaddafi turned on us and assassinated our diplomats at Benghazi to the accompaniment of worldwide Muslim chants of “Obama, Obama, We’re All Osama”. Now that the uber-peacenik Democrats are out of the way, we’ll see how awake Obama is today.

Hahaha. I don’t think so at all. Obama is a political opportunist and chameleon par excellence. The Far Right has always thought of him as Far Left, and the Far Left has been willing to agree with that assessment. The truth is that Obama is a smart sailor who can take advantage of whichever way the political wind is blowing to reach whatever destination he has set for himself. Now that the wind is blowing from the Right, there is no reason for Obama not to show how much he learned from his days at Punahou, the ultra-conservative private school in Hawaii where his grandparents sent him during his formative years. My take is that we’re going to see yet another side of Obama in the last two years of his Presidency, and the Far Left won’t like it a bit.

    slightly off topic:

I remember Michelle Obama (Frau Barakuda) telling the media after Obama’s election victory: “For the first time in my adult life, I am really proud of my country…”

This automatically raises the question: Now, when the country clearly rejects Obama will Frau Barakuda revert to being ashamed of her country?
Well, I’m afraid so, but let’s face it, the “country” has only itself to thank for it. It REALLY serves it well. Next time the country should be more careful how it votes.
