Obama: Republicans Committing Political Suicide by Refusing to Commit Political Suicide

Progressive man speak with forked tongue

I have a simple approach to life. I always take advice from people who hate me and want to do me harm. And then I do the opposite.

On an unrelated topic, the lame duck president of the shrinking Obamamerica whose own party members don’t want to be seen with him has some advice for Republicans. We should probably do the opposite of what he says.

Barack Obama said that Republicans are committing political suicide by resisting comprehensive immigration reform and vowed to go ahead with his plans to loosen some migration rules on his own after Nov. 4 elections.

Speaking to tech startup executives at a town hall event at Cross Campus, an organization devoted to helping entrepreneurs create jobs for young Americans, Obama repeatedly attacked his political opponents as he tries to fend off a Republican takeover of the U.S. Senate in the upcoming elections.

On immigration, Obama said he would proceed with plans after the elections to do what he can within his constitutional power to help undocumented workers in the United States.

He said he would specifically make the H1B visa system more efficient “to encourage more folks to stay here.”

Let’s take advice about committing political suicide from a guy telling tech companies how they can take away more jobs from Americans. Losing the Senate? How strange. Apparently Americans without jobs can also vote.

“If they were thinking long-term politically, it is suicide for them not to do this, because the demographics of the country are such where you are going to lose an entire generation of immigrants” who feel that the Republican Party “does not care about me or my life,” Obama said.

Let’s commit political suicide now to avoid the risk of losing votes that we don’t have anyway. It’s a plan so great that it comes from a guy whose own Senators would rather be seen with shotguns than with him.

The only way to save the country from a Democratic Party hegemony is to bring it on a lot sooner. Seems like a plan. For Obama.

This. If Republicans could understand this one simple point they *might* stop losing elections.

The MSM is a 24/7 cheering section for the Democrats, and bashes Republicans.
Public Schools and Universities are incubators for the Democrat Party
The majority of the voters are Democrats.
There are lunatic third parties who would rather divide he Republican Party than take on the Democrat Party.
Just a few reasons Republicans have a difficult time winning.

  • Gee

There are over 1 million H1B visa holders working in America right now – nearly all of them in the high tech industry. There are well over 1 million American high tech workers that cannot get a job in America. Why is that? Because the big corporations can pay the H1B people 1/3 what an American worker would get.

Getting rid of the H1B visas would not solve American unemployment – but it is a huge step in the right direction

Agreed. The H1B visa program benefits those who run the high tech industry at the expense of American workers. So, how does Obama resolve his support for a program that enriches the 1% against his claims that he wants to fight the 1% and protect the American middle class? Or, is that a question I’m not supposed to ask because I’m not supposed to remember when Obama is talking out of his butt.
