Only 15% of Active Duty Military Support Obama, 55% Oppose

Obama is about as popular with members of the military as Bill de Blasio is with the NYPD.

According to a Military Times survey of almost 2,300 active-duty service members, Obama’s popularity — never high to begin with — has crumbled, falling from 35 percent in 2009 to just 15 percent this year, while his disapproval ratings have increased to 55 percent from 40 percent over that time.

At least Bowe Bergdahl still likes him. Probably.

    Yes…….and I think that 15% is inflated.
Here’s a stat that the Left should think about.
When a majority of normal Americans support a military takeover of the US……..it will occur.

    • Scar

It’s interesting that you should mention a military takeover. A few days back i was discussing politics with a friend, and I said something like, “I never thought I’d say this, but I’d almost welcome a military coup.” The friend agreed. A military coup is inherently contrary to my belief in liberty, but our freedoms are being systematically violated by the Commies in power anyway. And it’s only going to get worse. (Remember what Jefferson said about “The Tree of Liberty…”) Have you seen any numbers/polls on how people feel about this issue? And is his fear of a possible coup the reason why Obama has been purging the ranks of the experienced officers?

      • Daniel

Yes……Obama has a deep seated fear of a military coup. He especially fears the elite units like Delta Force and the Navy SEALS which are over 99% white and contain the most nationalistic guys in the US military.

        • MukeNecca

Yes……Obama has a deep seated fear of a military coup.

In my mind absolutely nothing indicates it. If he has, it must be so deep seated he is not aware of it.
Anyway, could you refer us to anything he does or says that suggests this indeed is a fact?

  • Scar

I’m not a betting man, but I’d be willing to wager that the vast majority of the 15% is black. Most blacks would support Obama even if he was caught on film sodomizing a goat.

    • Pete

Figure in gay soldiers as well as well as other liberal groups.
I would also expect soldiers at the point of the spear to have a lower opinion of Obama than support troops. Those who have not deployed would factor in as well.
The survey is not good enough. It does not ask why 5 times.
What about the time in service. If we polled that we might see a rend as well.
Why graph a paltry run chart when you can have a relief surface?

  • Pete

    Here it Comes…

    BOHICA TIME!

The woes of the retired will filter back to the active duty through various NGOs and forums.

The RINOs and liberals must go.

  • cree

Is it any wonder why he wanted a (his) civilian force equal to that of the military? He’s been purging the right wing leadership over time and replacing them with the passive kiss a$$ types.

Rules of engagement restrictions was a pretty egregious sign of how he really felt with an indifference of the sacrificing soldier’s lives by the cover of war and political correctness crap. Benghazi is included and not forgotten, for sure.

  • Daniel

I want to give you guys a little heads up on how the military feels about Obama. I can only speak to certain elements……..it’s a big organization.
A few years back when the Somali pirates seized that US freighter off the coast of Africa and the captain offered to be the designated hostage if the crew were released………remember that one?
The SEALS whacked the pirates and rescued the captain. Obama did not want that.
He wanted to negotiate with the MUSLIM Somali pirates and use the crisis for his own purposes.
The CO of that SEAL team gave the order to his sniper to shoot and the rest of the unit followed. He knew that Obama could not do anything after the mission was successful.
What was Obama gonna say……”I would never let a bunch of right wing white boys whack a black African Muslim to save another white boy.”
The SEALS sent a message to Obama that day. One he never forgot.
Obama’s purges and his call for a civilian goon squad came right after that.

Thank Daniel: I have a hunch the survey is skewed to favor the President. I can’t imagine Bam Bam having that much support more than a mile from the Beltway. …
