You're quite correct. I know the Clintons, personally, and Hitlery is one of the most destructive ... and possibly murderous ... people in America. Make no mistake about it. She hates the Constitution, she hates conservatives, and she will move against us, if she gets the chance.

By the way, this woman decided that she should be President when she was in high school. In Wellesley College, she was President of the College Republicans, but her senior thesis was a paean to Saul Alinsky. After law school, she worked for a law firm headed by communists, and defended Black Panthers.

America might very well disappear, during a 3rd Clinton Presidency, and this must be stopped, at all costs. A RINO would be infinitely preferable to this spiteful woman.

Consider the case of William Jefferson Clinton. You know, "I did not have se x with that woman ... Ms. Lewinski". Most of us would immediately be able to identify their primary activity, together, as sexual activity. It's a given.

But Mr. Clinton is one of those unusual people who uses what he has learned in philosophy classes ... of which he took several ... to avoid the perils of actual life.

In the Lewisnsky case, and when he testified in court, some time later, he used to great advantage the Philosophy of Language posited by Dr. Thomas Vernon, of the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville.

Dr. Vernon would say that words have absolutely no meaning, except what the people using them mean in the existential moment. This is opposed to Rush Limbaugh's oft-quoted maxim that words DO have meaning.

If Bill Clinton says that he never has se x ... never had intercourse ... with Monica Lewinsky, he means it, and has probably convinced himself of that fact. It's why he asks for a definition of the word, "Is".

I would lay your odds that if someone gave him a polygraph, asking the question, "Did you have se x with Monica Lewinsky", he would reply in the negative, and the polygraph would confirm his "truthfulness".

Many of the worst criminals in history are quite convincing, because they have employed words in this manner.

Daedalus, yes. Unfortunately, the Olympian gods do not exist to punish those who use language in that way.

This is my response to your comment above on Phenomenology. Disqus was messing with me, so I posted it here.

Fascinating. And congratulations on deriving useful practical theory, therefore application, from philosophical theory. It is accomplishing somethiong that is inherently good. That isn't something that all philosophers can say they've accomplished.

I was partially joking about all philosophy being on the road to solipsism. First of all, it would be supremely arrogant to reduce everything to one rule, but your example of the practical benefits of philosophy is a perfect refutation of my generalization. On the other hand, there is an immense amount of philosophical effort that is not only useless, but sometimes dangerous. Karl Marx being the best example.

I think the problem of philosophy for many who participate is the over-intellectualization of reality. I call it "The Daedalus Complex," after the classical Greek inventor whose brilliance ended up getting him trapped in an inescapable labyrinth of his own design. Yes, he did finally escape, but his sin of using his intellect to design a way for Pasiphae to have intercourse with a bull --a divine gift to King Minos -- ultimately cost him the life of Icarus, his beloved son. He abused his gift.

When people lose themselves in labyrinthine systems of thought, the trap of extreme subjectivity and delusion is fairly probable. I would say Sartre was guilty of creating the world he lived in.

I see the intellect as a tool, not the entirety of reality. I see intelligence as a situation, not a virtue. One can lose one's humanity very quickly once trapped in their uniquely and inescapable Daedalus Complex. The threat a practiced philosopher, or other intellectual, is insignificant compared to the disaster that can result when followers decide to enter the labyrinth and willingly follow what has become an ideology. Again, Marx and his legion of followers being the perfect example.

So much for my fragments on philosophy. I would enjoy reading your response.

I call it “The Daedalus Complex,” after the classical Greek inventor whose brilliance ended up getting him trapped in an inescapable labyrinth of his own design. Yes, he did finally escape, but his sin of using his intellect to design a way for Pasiphae to have intercourse with a bull –a divine gift to King Minos — ultimately cost him the life of Icarus, his beloved son.

One can lose one’s humanity very quickly once trapped in their uniquely and inescapable Daedalus Complex.
