Smartest President Ever Misspells ‘Respect’ While Honoring Aretha Franklin

If Bush or Romney had done this, it would be a laughable gaffe, but since the Smartest Man Alive who has visited all 57 states and speaks fluent Austrian did it, it was probably the mountain air, lack of sleep or the classic, “Shut up, you’re a racist for noticing.”
Obama misspelled “respect” while lauding the “Queen of Soul” before a White House concert featuring several musical legends.
“When Aretha first told us what R-S-P-E-C-T meant to her,” Obama said, before the audience in the East Room erupted into laughter.
In Franklin’s 1967 classic “Respect,” of course, the singer famously spells out the word to a catchy tune, singing, “R-E-S-P-E-C-T/ Find out what it means to me/ R-E-S-P-E-C-T/ Take care, TCB.”
To be fair to Obama, he can’t be expected to know what “respect” means to anyone else. At least unless that someone is the King of Saudi Arabia or Vladimir Putin.
