That’s our State Department. Or Saudi Arabia’s State Department. I’m never sure. But it is staying focused on what counts; warning Israel not to “escalate tensions” by fighting back.
The United States on Wednesday condemned the terrorist attack at a Jerusalem Light Rail station.
“We express our deepest condolences to the family of the baby, reportedly an American citizen, who was killed in this despicable attack,” State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki said in a statement quoted by AFP.
“We urge all sides to maintain calm and avoid escalating tensions in the wake of this incident,” she added.
All sides. The side of the killers and the side of the victims.
I don’t doubt that Hamas will listen to the sage advice of Jen Psaki and stop killing people. And if it doesn’t, Psaki can always be counted on to condemn Israeli action against Hamas.
The baby’s grandfather said, “They waited for this girl for a few years … they just returned from the Western Wall, the first time that the child was at the Western Wall, brought her back toward the Temple Mount, and unfortunately, the hatred of the Arabs … no pity or anything. this holy soul and pure girl did not do anything wrong, was murdered for no reason.”
Halperin said that “the car began speeding, hit the stroller, the child flew through the air and fell with her head on the pavement. Bled very badly in the brain. The doctors at the hospital did their best and I want to thank them. Her parents are traumatized, they are shaken completely.”
This ceasefire that Obama pushed for is working great.
