State Dept Whistleblower has 4 Years of Emails Erased in Hack

Someone out there must really be ready for Hillary.

The personal e-mail account of a State Department whistleblower was hacked, and four years worth of messages — some detailing alleged wrongdoing at the agency — were deleted, The Post has learned.

The computer attack targeted the Gmail account of Diplomatic Security Service criminal investigator Richard Higbie, his lawyer, Cary Schulman, confirmed.

“They took all of his e-mails and then they deleted them all,” said Schulman. He said that he could not prove who was responsible for the hack job, but said the attack was “sophisticated” and called the targeting of Higbie “alarming.”

“Obviously, somebody is not happy with something he’s doing and wanted to get that information and also cause him an inability in the future to have ready access to that,” Schulman said.

The e-mails included evidence about misconduct by top officials at the department, communications with other potential whistleblowers there, and correspondence with members of Congress who are investigating the allegations, Schulman said.

Higbie played a key role in helping fellow whistleblower Aurelia Fedenisn, a former investigator for the department’s inspector general, reveal in June a pattern of alleged coverups by top department officials.

The alleged coverups included keeping quiet separate IG investigations that found that members of then-Secretary Hillary Rodham Clinton’s security detail had engaged hookers and that the Belgian ambassador had solicited underage prostitutes.

That happens to be the Belgian ambassador who is a Hillary donor. But as the inevitable presidential candidate of 2016 likes to say, “What difference does it make anyway once all the emails have been erased?”

Not are the only government employees, Democrat Party soldiers, in the tank for Hillary , there are citizen voters like JustQuitNow, who are in the tank.

The NYT apologia was okay because mentioning Al Qaeda was only a small part of it in their humble opinion. So a little email deletion which is a felony is nothing.

They need to get forensic technicians to recover the emails off the drive or server(s). The emails should have been backed up and so be only at least 2 servers.

If an outside hacking group like Anonymus did it then the the government has even more problems. If was a slacker child like Blumenthal, they may not have gotten all the emails.

Heck, the deleter might have only got the regular server and not the back up. Some of those are still on tapes in some cases. The regime might want to go with the fiction that the emails are irretrievable “Oh Golly gee darn!”.

Hard copies …did the whistleblower download ANY of them??? I sure would made 10 copies of all of it and put into a bank vaults from here to kingdom come!!

  • Elizabeth Cape Cod

There is nothing these people won’t do to escape responsibility for their incompetence and corruption.

    • Alex

They are incredibly competent in their corruption. Do not underestimate these psychopaths.

  • David Brown

Should call NSA to ask for the backup files.

I’m sure it was inadvertant. Just like Sandy Berger’s inadvertant stuffing of his pants with classified documents from the National Archives.

    • A Z

Sandy Berger wears clown pants with suspenders because they are so comfortable and his weight fluctuates so much.

Berger is a victim. A careless breeze pushed paper documents off a high shelf and they wafted down into his pants.

      You should pity poor Sandy!

No problem, just call Eric -refused to press charges against black panther voter intimidation-Holder of the DOJ!

They didn’t make a “Back-Up” of the data on an external hard drive that was secured and not attached to any computer???? Seriously? – They just left it there – didn’t print it off as a hard copy – computer forensics experts weren’t involved on doing an image copy of the e-mails??? Is this lawyer and diplomat that stupid????

  • Hass

I have a feeling that’s what they want them to believe, that all of the data has been erased and gone. Of course Richard Higbie and his lawyer, Cary Schulman no doubt would’ve saved all the evidence on a non network computer or two along with other means.
Being a Diplomatic Security Service criminal investigator, his experience would’ve kicked in and he would’ve been expecting the hacking amongst other things from day one.

The comment below (Alex) is the alarming reality. The Clintons are just as devious as the Communist-tainted Obama-cyborgs. The have endless methods and endless energy to continue the string of misdirections and smoke.
But they are mortals and will all ultimately face the Ultimate Judge…and tactics won’t be able to propel them to comfort or victory. They will have to answer.
