Super-Amnesty Will Turn Every City into Detroit

chicagoAfter another bloody weekend in Chicago, Mayor Rahm Emanuel branded the shootings unacceptable and the city’s top cop demanded more gun control laws. Chicago’s murder rate has actually dropped since concealed carry became legal. Emanuel’s lawsuits over his illegal gun control laws have left the already struggling city deep in the hole and forced to cover the NRA’s million dollars in legal bills.

Concealed carry paid off over the bloody weekend when a vet carrying a gun returned fire stopping a massacre before it happened. The original shooter ended up in the hospital, but nobody ended up in the morgue, which kept the death toll for the weekend down to fourteen.

Fourteen isn’t pretty, but it’s better than twenty or thirty.

Chicago’s murder rate in 1992 was double what it is today. The death rate was at 33.7 out of 100,000 which meant that you had a pretty good chance of being shot in Chicago. Today it’s down to 15 out of 100,000, which is small comfort to those ending up in the morgue, but it gives everyone else much better odds of surviving to see what ingenious ways the next corrupt mayoral administration will use to rip off the city.

Back in 1992, the cops also blamed guns for the murder rate. But it wasn’t the guns that were killing people. It was the gangs.

Now the murder rate is down, but the number of shootings is up. To Chicago’s police boss, that’s a problem, as if it makes a difference to the deceased whether he’s shot, stabbed or dropped in the water wearing cement overshoes. But fighting guns is easier than fighting crime.

The gun obsession is one of the few things that cops and leftists have in common. It’s the last politically acceptable form of prohibitionism in a society that enthusiastically legalizes drugs, even if possessing crack cocaine is statistically much more likely to lead you to kill a man, than possessing a gun will.

Every shooting spree bypasses the obvious problem with calls for more gun laws and something for the youth to do over the weekend that doesn’t involve shooting up the local housing project. This weekend, Rahm Emanuel took on the problem of funding more teen centers while Chicago’s top cop blustered about more gun laws. And then having successfully talked around the issue, they all went home.

The left loves root causes more than it loves red shirts and black bandanas, a fashion choice that it shares with some of the gangs responsible for most of the shootings.

America’s gun violence problem is urban. It’s localized in Democratic enclaves. And it overlaps neatly with its corrupt political machines. It has nothing to do with the NRA and a great deal to do with the party of social engineering, the welfare state and gun bans.

And illegal immigration.

Homicide rates overlap with unemployment rates, especially when accounting for the demographic populations of young minority men who are statistically more likely to kill or be killed.

92% of black male teens in Chicago don’t have a job. In Detroit, 50% of black men are unemployed. It’s not that there aren’t any jobs, but the entry level jobs have been mostly going to immigrants.

The Center for Immigration Studies found that under Obama two-thirds of jobs went to immigrants, both legal and illegal. Throw in a massive illegal alien amnesty and the rush of illegal aliens into the country will turn the employment figures of every city into Detroit and Chicago.

The black male unemployment rate in New York was at 33%. And the murder rate in New York is significantly lower than in Detroit or Chicago. But how long will that last if the unemployment rate in New York rises above 50%? Before long the marginal gangs will swell to monstrous sizes controlling entire neighborhoods. Anyone who can will flee and the city will once again become what it was.

The same process will take place in most major American cities.

The United States of America does not have a shortage of workers. It has a shortage of jobs. The irresponsible immigration policy has created a surplus of workers. Illegal alien amnesty will make that surplus much worse. Legalize twelve million illegal aliens and another twelve million will come. Those who can’t find jobs, will find gangs. Those who lose jobs to them will also find gangs.

The gangs will fight each other for control of entire neighborhoods and the crime wave will set America back decades.

After the 1986 amnesty, the number of murders, which had begun to fall in the early eighties, rose again. They did not return to a pre-amnesty level until 1997. Rapes have only recently returned to a pre-amnesty level. Now the progress we’ve made is about to be undone all over again.

In 1986, murder rates suddenly rose mysteriously in major cities. The New York Times described the crime rates as being the highest since the 1970s.

In Chicago, murders increased by 20%. In New York they increased by 20%. The cities rushed to crack down on guns while insisting that they were mystified by the drastic increase.

The guns weren’t the problem. The illegal alien amnesty which had created a magnet was. Illegal aliens with fake documents headed in hoping to take advantage of amnesty. Later newly legalized immigrants invited their family members to join them. Even before the amnesty took effect, crime rates spiked.

Amnesty advocates claim that immigrants aren’t taking jobs from Americans because they are more likely to be employed at the lower and higher ends of the marketplace. And that’s half true. What it really means is that they displace trained technical workers at the high end of the marketplace. That leads to a further erosion of the native middle class, but it doesn’t directly lead to gang violence.

At the lower end of the marketplace, they not only displace workers, but they displace the workers that might have been. Teenagers who would have started working regular jobs instead roam around aimlessly. The lost entry level jobs are substituted with crime. Neighborhoods fall apart and gang violence increases as gang members compete for turf in the new drug marketplace.

And the rest is crime statistics and children taken to morgues in cities that can barely keep the lights on.

If we want to repeat the same cycle again, Super-Amnesty, an amnesty several times bigger than the one in 1986, will make it happen. Entire cities will fall into gang violence. Their economies will collapse and that will have a ripple effect on their suburbs and on entire states.

America will be a more dangerous and poorer place. And the politicians will talk some more about banning guns and about building more teen centers for the youth to hang out in between shootings.

The country is already looking like Detroit.

The greater the control of the Democratic Party in a given region, the more that region will resemble Detroit.

Leftists are by nature cynical people. They know they are lying and they know they don’t care how many people die, as long as guns were involved. In fact, they need a higher body count — one that will really horrify America — in order to justify destroying the 2nd amendment right to bear arms.

Nations don’t voluntarily turn to communism when there is peace and plenty. The Left needs chaos and desperation before people will latch onto any port in the storm, like communism. What happens if the nation is flooded with violent immigrants, early release violent criminals, and gangs, and we can’t protect ourselves? We will be dependent on the government, and that is what the Left is setting up with the open borders and simultaneous effort to take away guns from law abiding people.

The Left has a problem with people who abide by the law because it isn’t their law. Notice that the ATF, FBI, DHS, et al are doing nothing to stop the proliferation of truly illegal automatic weapons in the inner city. Instead of taking on the dangerous job of going after the gangs and drug cartels, they are going after those who actually defend law and order.

Obama and the Left want us defenseless as individuals and as a nation. They want the same for Israel. They know what happens to defenseless people and nations, but it is a price they have decided we must pay so they can rule a utopian world that will miraculously spring from utter nihilism. It is delusional, depraved, deranged thinking, and almost identical to the way Islamists think.

Thanks. I will continue to speak out. It might get me in trouble some day, but it has become a bit of a compulsion, so it’s unlikely I’ll quit. We need more people speaking out or blocking bus loads of criminal aliens, before it’s too late.

If amnesty gets passed, this nation as we know it is done, we will become Balkanized states and cities and warfare will be the norm, not the exception as scarce resources are fought over. The problem that these goofy leftist have forgotten, and it will be at their own peril, is the law of unintended consequences, for the tighter the govt squeezes us for control, the easier it is going to slip from between the fingers.

Brack Obama is A pretty man

          • 95Theses

Another vantage point on the law of unintended consequences is that – given the uniqueness of our form of constitutional government, particularly with respect
to the Bill of Rights and specifically our 2nd Amendment – we may witness something altogether different than the balkanization you describe. Because unlike other scenarios which have unfolded in nations when governments turned on its subjects, the fact that our citizenry is so well-armed (coupled with the fact that the vast majority of gun owners ally themselves to an Originalist view of the Constitution) it is quite possible that things may go very badly indeed for those who may ram amnesty down our throats. The law of unintended
consequences may result in an outcome no one could possibly imagine. But this much I give you … there will be blood.

I am starting to see a scenario where Vince Flynn’s book Term Limits may come to pass, and these feckless politicians will never see it coming, since their arrogance of power blinds them to the reality on the ground. The were more than a few Roman Senators that made the same mistake, the Roman citizens dealt with them in a most untimely brutal fashion.

          • Porkys2istan

I’ve heard a lot of people quoting Thomas Chittum’s book “Civil War Two” in regards to amnesty.

I didn’t read the book but I did read his ‘checklist’ (Google it). For a book written in 1996 It’s interesting how many things on his checklist have happened, how many seem close, and the few that seem implausible today compared to 20 years ago.

          • Drakken

I am not familiar with the book you mention, could you give a good gist of it?

          • Porkys2istan

I haven’t read it. I’ve just seen several different people on very different boards mention it. The general gist of it (from the reviews and synopsis’) is that artificially created ‘multicultural’ societies are inherently unstable and prone to break up along cultural, religious, or racial lines. He uses his experiences from fighting in Vietnam, Rhodesia, and Yugoslavia as a road map for future Europe and America.

From the checklist I think it’s #2 that reminded so many people of this book.

I think the one thing he misses is that no ‘autonomous ethnic zone’ will ‘succeed’ from America (or Europe) while they can still suck on the welfare teat. In fact it might actually be the opposite, where affluent parts of a nation refuse to pay to ‘help out’ the disintegrating parts (cough Detroit), that facilitates a breakup.

          • Drakken

Sounds like an interesting book, I myself look at history, and as history as demonstrated time and time again and the left ignores it at their own peril is, that where ever multiculturalism and diversity have been tried, it always, without exception leads to a very uncivil war. The left in their collective utter stupidity still try to put round pegs into round holes expecting that this time it will fit, they are wrong, dead wrong and it will be to their horror that they will find this out the hard way, like they always do.

The answer is to get all your family deputized.

Then make a rule that they are to carry guns off duty.

    • The March Hare

Great points, as usual TB. I agree with all you say and generally do, however, one small point I would like to correct. Please use the term “semi-automatic” weapons instead of “automatic” weapons. An automatic weapon is a machine gun and continues to fire as long as you hold down the trigger. These have been illegal for many decades now. The weapons involved here are semi-automatic and only fire once each trigger pull. These guns are auto-loaders, not to be confused with “automatic weapons”.
I wouldn’t bring this up except for the fact that the anti-gun crowd keeps using the phrase “automatic weapons” as a scare tactic to make guns seem more lethal. It is the same tactic as using the term “assault weapon” for a scare tactic. The guns they refer to as “assault weapons” fire no differently than the guns they don’t claim as assault weapons. Put an adjustable length stock (for fitting the gun to the user) and a pistol type grip (for more natural position of the hand and ease of use) and bingo, you have an assault rifle according to the gun banners. All based on scary looks, scary in the eyes of the anti-gun people

      • truebearing

I meant automatic. The gangsters are using automatic weapons, not just semi-auto. They have AK-47s, Uzis, Mac-10s, etc.

work iniquity, to practice hypocrisy, and to utter error against the Lord, to

evil: he deviseth wicked devices to destroy the poor with lying words even when
the needy speaketh right. But the liberal deviseth liberal things; amd by
liberal things shall he stand.”. (I’d say ‘fall) Share that in every

    • Randy Townsend

Interesting perspective, much of which I agree with. My question is simple: Are there enough people who still care, or has apathy passed the critical mass point? When (not if) the pols make 20,000,000 illiterate, unskilled mexicans U.S. citizens with full access to the entire range of taxpayer-funded government benefits (including the right to vote), after the intial furor dies down, will the people simply shrug their shoulders and say “So what?” If you examine what’s happening in the country with the divide between the shrinking group of people increasingly tasked to pay the taxes and the growing segment getting “benefits from the government”, with no outcry about the creation of a permanent supported class, it indicates very little oppostion will continue after the deed is done, and our ruling class knows it. If that is indeed the case, our Republic will not last in its current form – anarchy is in our future, since the professional politicians will see no resistance to what they want, coupled with arrogant disregard for the rule of law. We did amnesty in 1986 under Regan and we were promised “Never again”. Well, looks line never isn’t as long as we thought.

      • truebearing

I don’t know if there are enough who care. Sometimes it seems hopeless, other times there is light at the end of the tunnel. We’re in for rough times, though. Of that I have been convinced for many years.

The sad truth is that Americans have indulged themselves at the expense of their freedom, and now we have to fight to get it back. Every day people are facing hardships that are waking them up to the truth. Will enough wake up to defeat the enemies arrayed against us, including Obama? I can’t say. It seems likely that the United States will split up according to race and ideology, but what form that split takes is anyone’s guess. We may or may not win, but there are enough of us to make a convincing stand. We owe it to those who come behind us to fight with all we have.

Not a very cheery assessment, but there is no point in deluding ourselves. That’s why we’re in this pickle.

        • Randy Townsend

I disagree about the US splitting up (in actuality), simply because the divide will likely be along economic lines and those that take simply can’t afford to be on their own – they aren’t able to pay for all the benefits they “enjoy”. So, any attempt to break up the nation will be met with a vicious response in order to secure the economic largesse the underclass has been promised by the pols. Everything else you said is spot on.

  • Michael Copeland

The word “amnesty” is itself a trap. It bogusly bestows a gloss of benevolence and goodwill to what is, in fact, capitulation and dereliction of duty. Illegal entry is just that, illegal, a criminal matter. Capitulation to it betrays the lawful migrants
waiting in the queue and the taxpayers funding the personnel including
politicians who are PAID to uphold the law.

  • johnlac

  • Tina Trent

Police vigorously support gun rights. You can see their views at the necessarily anonymous cop blog Second City Cop, along with a lot of detail about the corrupt political classes in Chicago. It’s the chiefs, who are political appointees, who carry water for the gun banners. And they are despised by the police.

Cops in Chicago say that violence is actually up — sixty shootings only led to a lower body count now because of the city’s excellent trauma centers. Count the shootings, not the deaths, and Chicago is spiralling out of control again. They see the racial attacks that go unreported by the bottom feeders in the media too.

We need to make common ground with police. I’m deeply troubled by anti-cop attitudes emanating from Infowars and Reason other purportedly conservative sites. The police naturally share our concerns. They do not set policy — that’s the political classes. They wade into the messes created by leftists every day. And as those messes grow, they’ll be the front line between us and utter chaos.

    • Daniel Greenfield

those are libertarian, rather than conservative, and I wouldn’t even call infowars libertarian, it’s straightforward conspiracist

I’m not crazy about the Balko type of anti-cop rhetoric or the obsession with armored vehicles being used by police departments, but at the same time I have to say that I’ve met few police officers in NYC who are privately pro-2nd and the militarization of police forces is leading to certain problems. It’s an understandable cycle in urban areas, but it’s moving beyond urban areas.

      • Tina Trent

Unfortunately, these conspiracist sites are pretty influential — InfoWars has a big hold on some in the Tea Party movement, a consequence attributable to, I think, being treated with such raw contempt for simply being patriotic and so on. Plus, Alex Jones is pretty good at what he does — he hits a lot of accurate buttons. Meanwhile, Balko et. al. love being at that point of the political circle where libertarian right meets libertarian left — the apex of extraordinary annoyingness.

In my organizing experience, it generally takes one or two well-placed InfoWars or obsessive anti-cop types to destroy a functional Tea Party with 20 – 40 conservatives in it. I’ve seen this dynamic unfold over and over. The socons are the vast majority but they’re constantly being told to sit down and shut up about their values — AFP is a particularly big offender in this area.

In my little mountain town, the police are being offered the big-arms catalog — stuff for “free,” and when your job includes chasing down meth dealers on a small town budget, some of it makes sense, but it definitely damages trust. You’re right that this can end in tears. The best solution is to deliberately keep the lines of communication open between cops and sheriffs and the Tea Party groups.

        • Daniel Greenfield

Drudge spreading links to it all the time doesn’t help, but Jones had sway on the left under Bush. He quickly migrated to the right under Obama. If a Republican wins in 2016, he’ll go back to the left.

Unfortunately the Conspiracist crowd/the Paulians have adopted a lot of Communist tactics for taking over and disrupting groups. They’re very good at that sort of thing, because they’re basically lefties without the big government part. They’re anarchists.

I know. A lot of military equipment is being given away to cops and the exploitation of the subject is cynical. Does it make more sense to let armored vehicles just sit there the way we wasted so much equipment post-WW2?

Or give them away to countries where they can fall into enemy hands, see Iraq.

        • ObamaYoMoma

Unfortunately, these conspiracist sites are pretty influential — InfoWars has a big hold on some in the Tea Party movement, a consequence attributable to, I think, being treated with such raw contempt for simply being patriotic and so on.

  • Elizabeth Cape Cod

I believe that culture contributes greatly to gun violence; not just the availability of guns, or lack thereof.
Chicago is broken: Families are broken. The economy is broken .
Unless we’re saying that every city is broken, the availability of guns would not be the be all and end all of our cities.

    • Daniel Greenfield

the broken family remains an excellent predictor of crime

      • The March Hare

And the breakup of the family was one of the goals outlined in the Communist Manifesto. I read the manifesto about 10 years ago and it was like reading the platform of the Democrat party. If the family gets broken up, then people no longer belong to a clan or support group. It used to be common for 2 or 3 generations of a family to live together with one of the children keeping the parents in their old age and raising the kids at the same time. Family wisdom was shared and passed down, people had family to turn to in times of trouble or strife. When people feel alone in this world with no one to turn to when all goes awry, the government becomes the surrogate and the controlling umbilical gets attached.

        • Daniel Greenfield

the left is radically remaking everything about society along those lines

            Yes. Great article.
Next look at how they have prepped towns for this illegal alien moment. All the “revitalization”. Community alliance, groups with non profit status of
” capacity building” well we now know for sure what that capacity is. Phony delphi town listening sessions etc and money slipping in and out for various task force junk… Attachment to govt teet by way of grants accepted under false pretenses by clueless and complicit boards… Zoning changes, definition of family changed… All traced to a new neighbor appearing from Chicago organizing about 15 years ago… This is a long term plan to be sure and a perfect storm president.
Clue; new definition of family in new zoning for group homes in our town is any group of people sharing cooking in a house.

Good article Dan. Thanks for sharing the unemployment stats. When I was a teen. Anyone of us that wanted a job could find one. If the private sector didn’t have one the goverment did. Job Corp paid us minimum wage $1.65 an hour. Felt good to see our names on a paycheck. We had money to buy clothes and take the girl to the movies. I like to see us expand Americorp and put more young people to work. That will help the economy and cut down on the high cost of incarceration.

    • Webb

Yup. Take the girl to the movies and knock her up and leave her and sell drugs and fight for turf. The good old days. Felt good to see our names in the obits. Helped the hospitals and the police and the funeral business. Spread the wealth around!

      • MrUniteUs1

        You messed up Webb.

        • Webb

No, you have an excellent idea to expand Americorpse into government work camps where we could concentrate the young guys together to help them save their money. No taking girls to the movie. Lots of drug tests and cavity searches. All for their own good. We can call them Privilege Camps. What’s not to like? I only made $1 an hour for catching thousands of pigs by the hind leg. My ears rang from the squealing, and they stunk like hell. I didn’t want to see my name on any stinking paycheck that I’d be forced to have to pay taxes on. The government wasn’t my pimp. That’s why drug selling is such a good deal – no checks, no taxes, and no pimps. We see eye-to-eye on this deal, my friend.

    • Pete

“Job Corp paid us minimum wage $1.65 an hour. Felt good to see our names on a paycheck. We had money to buy clothes and take the girl to the movies.”

That works so long there are rungs on the ladder above that one. It works better if there is less ‘friction’ (which is what economists call it; they borrowed the concept form physics) in hooking up job seekers to jobs. People can get fired for sharing paycheck information. That creates friction in this case due to a lack information.

If a person learns x or gets y skill and can get z job, which pays more, they are likely to do it. With all the usually caveats. There has to be a path to get the skill or people get cynical and get into the “learned helplessness mode’.

Learned helplessness does not only apply to individuals. When it applies to communities it is deadly.

The more graft and corruption there is, the fewer rungs on the ladder there will be. There will be large gaps in the rungs.

Solyndra is an example of graft and corruption. They threw toxic waste in the garbage because the principles of the company did not know or did not care. They had their money from government contracts gifted to them due to donations to politicians.

That is they do not know the EPA, OSHA and other regs or have the engineering knowledge. What they did know was politics.

    • liz

Right – expand Americorp – that’s the ticket.
More government control is the solution – it not only gets them off the streets, it makes it much easier to brainwash new leftists!

    • TruthBeTold

I have an Americorp office in my neighborhood.

Ya know what I get out of Americorp?

Piles of trash at the bus stop they use and there’s a trash can.

Americorp is a do-nothing program that makes ‘progressive’ liberals feel like they’re doing something to help disadvantaged kids.

We do need more vocational training in schools and more real world jobs training, instead of routing everyone to college and a six figure debt.

Government jobs are subsidized by the private sector. If the private sector jobs aren’t there, where are the government jobs supposed to come from?

Vocational training would also decrease the drop out rate.
Regarding the goverment jobs, The reverse is also true. Many private sector companies receive huge government contracts. In addition companies like Walmart and McDonald pay their workers food stamp wages.

“The reverse is also true. Many private sector companies receive huge government contracts.”

Dude, how can anyone be so dumb? Where do you think the government gets the money to pay for contracts? Don’t you realize that it’s like a God Father who takes the money from the mom and pop shops of the block and then hands it out for favors?

          • MrUniteUs1

Many sources. You can think of 3 in less than 3 minutes. I know you can.

          • reader

What? Speaking about 3 minutes, any 3 minute Milton Friedman video will make you 10 times better educated – if you have enough IQ to digest it. Do you?

        • Daniel Greenfield

We need to rethink the current school system, create more alternatives and more community based education.

As for food stamp wages, we need to reduce the price of food and to do that we have to put more food on the market instead of routing it into food stamp programs.

          • MrUniteUs1

That would help. Corporate farm subsidy recipients would likely oppose you idea. We need to promote buy American and hire American. What do you think should happen to those that hire illegal immigrants?

          • Pete

People who hire illegals should pay a fine. The fine should be determined by statistics. That is it should be big enough that people are dissuaded.

Dr Mialon and Dr Francis, two economists, used statistics to calculate the criminal penalty that should be used to stop people from knowingly transmit HIV to another person. the same type analysis could be done with hiring illegal aliens.

            As an aside,

Those mother with kids are not going to work in the fields.

First, they would have to live near areas that needed field world. They will live in big cities.

Second if they worked in the fields they would need day care, which they will not pay for.

They will use up services starting with head start. the government will not be able to pay for everything because the money will not be there. The government will not be able to “print” money. The U.S. is losing it’s reserve currency status. that means when they print money, inflation will go up quickly. In the past they printed money and the inflation showed up in places like Vietnam. But that happened when we had reserve currency status. In the next 7 to 10 years the inflation will show up more quickly in the U.S.

When these young dreamers become teenagers and older some will go to college and some will go to work, but many will become gang members (MS13). There are reports that Hispanic gangs are ethnicly cleansing neighborhoods in south central LA.

Point is you are being done wrong by the Chamber of commerce, the whole Democrat party, the Republican establishment and Obama.

        • Pete

I think you can keep children in school for long periods of time. But once a person has crossed a certain threshold in knowledge and has hit puberty, you have a limited time to teach them usable skills. When the limited amount of time is up, they are going to leave. Not all at a specific set time (it is a bell curve). They are going to leave if they see no path, if skill acquisition is too slow or if they see someone else getting what they want at their age and they are not in school.

Thresholds are going to vary by personal temperament and circumstances (parents, economy, etc).

One of my points is that we should graduate kids from high school at ***16***. At that time they should go into a trade or be on a college track. If they (about 70%) are in the trade, they should have a wage maybe it would be less than minimum wage but after trial period it should be minimum wage and by 18 it should be higher.

I do not advocate a salary for college student. Unlike a skilled trade they would not quite be doing productive work. If we gave college students a salary, some of them would be comfortable enough to stretch it out. They use to do so in Germany ad inifitum.

      • MrUniteUs1

Roosevelt created over 2 million jobs in one month when he took office. Millions of more Americans civilian and military received government backed jobs during WWII. This year the government could hire 5 million people at and average of 20K for 100 billion dollars. All the workers, their families, and the businesses they support would benefit. Increased conusmer demamd would increase more hiring an more revenue.

        • Daniel Greenfield

was that the beginning of America’s deficit spending but called an “investment”?
i’ve heard that president coolidge cut federal spending by roughly half, resulting in the roaring 20s – sadly, such an abundance of wealth created that people weren’t used to it, lost their footing, and even the shoeshine guys were giving stock tips. not sure if kennedie sr. was giving those first – to do the pump and dump…

The recession happened late last decade. George W. Bush took office in 2001, was inaugurated again in 2005 and left office in 2009. At the time of the recession (September 2008), Bush had four months left in office. When Obama took office as president in 2009, the national debt was around $8-$10 trillion. It is now around $17-18 trillion. In other words, this presidency increased the national debt more than all of the presidencies from George Washington to George H.W. Bush combined. And the debt increased much more from 2009 to 2014 than it did from 1789 to 1992. Why do you ignore these facts?

No country can remain prosperous with open borders and no control of who comes through them, a perfect storm for terrorist attacks too. Many legal immigrants express their concerns and anger that America who has been the beacon for opportunity and freedom and is disappearing from their eyes. No country can continue to provide resources to sustain these people as well as all the Americans who are here legally….There is no rational policy of registering and proper identification….its all through Saul Alinsky tactics that these things are happening by creating a crisis.

why is it that they always wanna do something about guns and they only talk about taking guns away from people that are protecting their homes or convient stores. they could go a long way to curb murders and crimes if they slowed the birth rate of welfare thug babies and rewarding young welfare momas for overpopulatin the earth with thug gangs kids. the sad thing is all the innocent good people trying to protect their young families that get murdered or robbed in their homes. or shot in a store robbery, if they are concerned about crooks and robers getting shot up who cares?

Ths is what happens when the Left runs things.

  • Pete

    “The left loves root causes”

    This statement is factually untrue.

The Left pretends to be intellectual and to,love root causes. The Left loves root causes as Much as Hit!er loved root causes. He blamed the Jews.

It was pointed out here at FPM (maybe by DG) that Moms against Violence were lumping suicides with homicides to get their gun violence statistic. It was further pointed out that Japan has no guns yet the suicide rate is twice as high as the U.S. the take away was that eliminating guns will not necessarily decrease suicides. The further takeaway was that guns were not the root cause of the suicides and so Moms against Violence are selling us a bill of goods.

Taking out the suicides leave us with the 12,000 or so homicides. If Leftists loved root causes, they would use the techniques like “Ask Why 5 Times” and not use marxist critical theory. DG points out their are other causes to “gun violence” that of eliminated, will reduce homicides well below 12,000

    • The March Hare

Gang homicides account for a large portion of all homicides. It isn’t a factor in our gun culture, it is a factor in the gang and/or drug culture. I have seen some figures some time back, but I don’t remember the exact numbers, but if you remove the homicides caused by gang and/or drug violence, the actual gun homicides are fairly low. We don’t have a gun problem as much as a gang and problem. The left has ownership of much of the gang and drug problem. In the 60s and 70s the left even greatly encouraged the use of drugs. And, oh gee, it seemed to get uhh uhh out of hand.

      • Pete

People have argue that without gang homicides, the American homicide rate would be very much closer to England’s homicide rate.

Also England’s homicide rate has been been pretty flat. It remained pretty much the same before and after gin control in the years before WW1. All the Anglophone countries showed an increase in homicides, which peaked around 1992. This is true for countries with gun control and those that did not have it. Something else was at work. Partly crime tracks with how big the youth cohort is.

The Iranians supported every militia, terrorists or insurgent group in Iraq. They even supported insurgent groups that fought each other. The Iranians believe that they could operate in the chaos better than the Americans.

So they supplied the Shia Sadr faction and the Sunni Al Qaeda

The Democrats are doing the same thing. They are creating chaos., but they believe they can operate in the chaos better than the Republicans.

People talk of logrolling to get things done. This is more like real life log rolling. You roll a log getting it wet. You also swiftly change direction. It makes it harder for you to stand, but you hope it hurts your competitor more. The log roller is creating chaos.

It is what the Democrats are doing.

“The contest involves attempting to stay on the log while attempting to cause the competitor to lose their balance and splash into the water”

“Logrolling is the trading of favors, or quid pro quo, such as vote trading by legislative members to obtain passage of actions of interest to each legislative member.”

Obama created this mess by not enforcing immigration laws. Then he blames Conservatives, Republicans, and the Tea Party for not passing Comprehensive AMNESTY.

Ask yourself, ‘why are we seeing so many children crossing the border?’

The answer is that our politicians keep talking about giving ‘Dreamers’ legal status.

These kids, who AREN’T ‘Dreamers’, know that if they get here before ‘Dreamers’ are legalized they will be legalized with the ‘Dreamers’. No distinctions will be made.

Our politicians in BOTH need to stop talking about amnesty and legalizing ‘Dreamers’.

  • Gamal

The statement that Illegals take jobs that Americans wouldn’t take ignores the reason for that which is that welfare pays more. The Obama administration will support the illegals on welfare which means they won’t take the jobs either. The growing cost of welfare may be what pushes us off the economic cliff.

  • Rdlake

The evil, lying DemocRATS have been using this 11 million illegal figure from ten years ago. We have that many living in the border states alone. With the figure exploding weekly as they gush through the porous borders. Republicans stand by & watches, Corrupt Liberal Media abets. Obama continues because there’s no media outrage. Instead the keep using that same old stale phrase ‘The children’

  • MrUniteUs1

As long as we allow illegal immigrants to work in this country. We should require that every American that wants a job can find one, if the private sector is unable or unwilling than the public sector should provide them. The crime rate among the employed is quite low.

    • Daniel Greenfield

Or we could just make it easier to create jobs instead of trying to create government jobs at the expense of those already working.

It’s not within the government’s constitutional purview to
create jobs. And what a ridiculous thing to say, particularly in view of the fact that the United States has the highest corporate tax rate in the world. If anything, the government is hamstringing the private sector’s ability/potential to create and produce – and why? Because leftists have a perverse notion of what constitutes social justice (otherwise known by it’s more accurate name: ENVY).

          • MrUniteUs1

So let’s stop paying elected officals, the military, air traffic controllers, the national weather service, educators, the FCC, etc etc.. And here’s a follow-up: do burdensome corporate taxes hinder or help the private sector toward the goal of generating a robust economy?
            And your answer is __________???

And one more while we’re at it: from what moral principle(s) do you derive justification for a progressive income tax?
            And your answer is __________???

          • MrUniteUs1

Actually many Corporations pay no taxes, and get refunds. How do you feel about helping to pay for those refunds. Most millionaires make their money from “thousandnaires” buying their goods and services. A flat tax rate would tax thousandnaires more decrease their purchasing power, and the millionaire’s profits. That’s probably why you don’t hear a big demand for a flat tax.

          • laura r

the ideology is old. but the person who began implementing it was soros.

          • The March Hare

Whittaker Chambers (1901-1961) Joined the Communist Party in 1924 which he discovered at Columbia University. Was in communist underground controlling many spies in our government from 1932 to 1938 including Alger Hiss who moved to the Department of State in 1935 and was close to Roosevelt during WWII. Other Communists involved were Henry Collins; Lee Pressman; John Abt, special assistant to the United States Attorney General, 1937 and 1938; Charles Kramer, NLRB; Nathan Witt, NLRB; George Silverman, Nat. Recovery Admin.; Marion Bachrach; Harold Ware; John Herrmann; Nathaniel Weyl; Donald Hiss; Victor Perlo, Dept. of Treasury; Noel Field, Dept. of State; Harold Glasser, Dept. of Treasury; etc.

And these mentioned are only a few. After Chambers testified, it was tamped down some, but came back again hard and more clandestine until the new left stood up proud in the 60s and started the buildup to the giant mess we have now.

This has been going on for years and years. Soros is at this end of a long string. He is an enabler. Jarrett and Obama are the primary implementers.

To paraphrase Che Guevara: “One, two, many Detroits.”

  • Public_Citizen

You need to either develop your thesis faster or change the headline.
One has to click through and read several paragraphs before getting to the topic of the headline.
As to the invading army of illegals turning every major city into Detroit, it won’t be an image of Detroit, it will be much worse. It will be worse than Hell’s Kitchen in the late 1800s.
Multiple reports are circulating of the diseases these people are carrying, diseases that have not been seen in this countries in the lifetime of most people now living. Now reports are beginning to surface of gang graffiti from ms-13 [one of the most vicious and aggressive criminal enterprises of modern times] being found in the places where the invaders are being housed.
This army has to be repulsed. They must be identified and the identification must be permanent and visible so that it will be evident at any point in the future that this individual is a repeat offender. The only alternative is to eliminate the problem by eliminating the participants, something that most Americans do not have the resolve to do.

    • Drakken

But, the day is coming where Americans have had enough and when that day finally comes it is going to make the Balkans pale in comparison. It will start in Europe first, and then spread here like wildfire.

  • Jeff Ludwig

Masses of people who are out of contact with moral values through their churches and synagogues, and who are learning in schools where dumbing down is typical (and these schools are prayerless) are increasing in numbers. Add to this a narcissism that is rampant through the mass (notice emphasis on the word “mass”) media, which narcissism was noted beautifully way back in 1977 by Christopher Lasch, and then add to the mix millions of semi-literate undocumented folks who have no idealistic love for America, but just see our country as a place filled with gringos, and you have a formula for violence. Add to the mix terrorists and neo-Marxists who want to tell all these “masses” (a key word) that their resentments are all justified, and that in fact hate rather than resentment is even more justified, and you start to see the emergence of a most dangerous and unpleasant world, especially in our cities. Do you think I’m exaggerating? Do you think Mr. Greenfield is exaggerating? Are we using hyperbole in order to attract attention? Sorry, these dire prognostications are not “being alarmist.” Rather, more sanguine appraisals are diluting or denying realities that are not being addressed. Emma Lazarus wrote, “give me your huddled masses yearning to be free.” In today’s environment the key phrase is “yearning to be free.” If we keep getting “masses” that are not yearning to be free American style — can’t begin to understand the concept, don’t want their children to accept the anglos — then….well, then, events will transpire as Mr. Greenfield says they will. It’s inevitable.

Laura Ingraham had the guts and wisdom to say that America should deport EVERY illegal alien/immigrant, without qualification. I have to agree. Just because they have been here longer is immaterial. Start with a clean slate.

We need work farms for all prisoners. Illegals caught here should be sentenced to farm work in a POW atmosphere, working 12 hour days-just like an American farmer. These prisoner farms should be self supporting, growing their own food, making their own clothes and supplying all labor for maintenance and repair.

Build a WALL on the entire Southern Border, not a Mickey Mouse, Potemkin FENCE, a sardonic joke. A thick, permanent wall and a deep trench on the American side. The wall will be located some small distance from the actual border, where a razor fence will lie. Any breach from that fence to the wall will be “No Mans Land” and individuals will be shot as they approach the Wall.

Either we get serious and stop this invasion, or we posture, preen, and delude ourselves.

    • Drakken

Why put an illegal in a work farm? Put them on the border with a pick and shovel and have them start digging, I’ll bet that in no time, we can have the worlds deepest ditch in no time.

You can’t blame a Democrat for being a race pandering socialist, but you all fail to hold responsible the REPUBLICAN businessmen who employ all these modern day slaves. These REPUBLICAN business owners know full well that THEY get the cheap labor while WE get all the problems of 30 MILLION extra poor people. WE get the children who can’t speak English in our schools. WE get the uninsured visits to the emergency room. WE get millions of uninsured illegal alien drivers. WE get entire neighborhoods turned into third world hell holes with the inevitable crime and rampant poverty.

So make sure to blame all this on Obummer. Don’t bother going to the local Tyson meat packing plant. Don’t check if your janitor has his proper papers. Don’t have a national ID card to make sure that EVERY construction worker has a right to work here.

It’s ALL Obummer’s fault. No need to look any further…

ALL of this could be solved in a few months with a national, biometric, identification card combined with a national employment registry. If your fingerprint doesn’t match your voice print doesn’t match your retinal scan doesn’t match your photo(s) doesn’t match your physical description doesn’t match your blood type AND you are NOT currently listed as dead or disabled or currently employed more than 500 miles away or currently working more than 100 hours a week THEN you get hired.

EVERY employee in America would have random spot checks of fingerprints at least once every 5 years (every year in ‘targeted’ industries). All time clocks would be linked to the national employment registry and only activated by the National Employment Identification Card, and any irregularities are immediately flagged, reported, and investigated.

Employers found circumventing the National Employment Identification Card/Database would be fined $1000 per day per fraudulent employee. And tipsters would receive $1000 for EVERY tip that leads to a fine (even if THEY are the illegal employee). (NOTE: This would also catch people who get disability, welfare and food stamps and then illegally work ‘under the table’ for more money.)

BAM! ALL illegal immigration STOPS IMMEDIATELY.

Remind me again which party consistently shoots down a national ID card?

It’s not like it would be tattooed onto your hand or forehead. It would just be a card with a magnetic strip like any of the other 50 cards in your wallet, but that would be ‘big brother’ and the ‘mark of the beast’.

    • Smeg

Yet, can’t get the Dems to agree with voter registration cards that do not have tracking strips on them and do not make you marked cattle.

To quote Sylvester Stallone playing John Spartan in Demolition Man:

“this fascist crap makes me want to puke”

      • Porkys2istan

I just gave you a way to solve the whole problem. If you don’t accept it, or at least suggest one of your own, then shut your pie hole.

I bet you don’t know how to use the three seashells, too. :P

        • NonPCconservative

This is a case of the cure being worse than the disease. Did you ever identify a problem where your proposed solution wasn’t more government?

          • Porkys2istan

I’m STILL not hearing a solution. All I’m hearing is “Complain, complain, complain.” Typical do nothing republican.

          • NonPCconservative

You didn’t answer my question so I’m assuming that’s a NO.

My solution is simple. Make a few minor adjustments to the current laws to allow enforcement to be immediate. Let’s just start with that and see where things go from there.

Your solution is rich coming from the side that screams racism every time a voter ID law is mooted. Betcha the Democrats wouldn’t touch your plan with a ten foot pole.

Time to go to range a little more…

  • John

Emanuel knows damn well what he’s doing. He’s no dummy. I don’t mean that in a good way though. He’s not hiring anywhere near enough police officers. He’s fudging the numbers, and claiming crime is down. He’s designated Chicago as a “sanctuary city,” which should be against the law, and he should be in jail on charges of treason. He’s creating chaos, all while boosting (or attempting) his voting numbers. This is how him, and his “chosen” ilk operate. It’s all from the same script. This man should be in prison.

Have you really not woken up yet? This is about wiping whites out of existence in the country we founded and built, its about making us a minority in every major town and city in the land, flooding our communities with ‘diversity’ and then brainwashing our woman through the media to ‘integrate’ with them which will result in whites being totally wiped and blended out of existence. That is what they want, you gone, your children gone, your grandchildren gone. The white race mixed and blended out of existence and replaced with a mixed-race hybrid population with no racial or ethnic identity. This is why every single white nation on earth is being flooded with massive non-white third world immigration and why the media promote miscegenation and ‘integration’ with them.

Its white genocide people, that is the end goal here! Wake up! Have you EVER heard them call for Nigeria or Japan to become ‘more diverse’ or say they need to be ‘multicultural’? No, its only white nations who are not allowed to remain white.

    • John

      Well said.

  • WhiteRabbit

Look at all this anti-whitism. In the 60’s, anti-whites forced ALL and ONLY white countries to bring in millions of non-whites.
Then anti-whites forced ALL and ONLY white people to “integrate” or face penalties for being “naziswhowantokill6millionjews.”
Now anti-whites are praising and counting down the days till ALL and ONLY white children are minorities and extinct EVERYWHERE.
    That makes it white genocide.
    “Anti-racist” is a codeword for anti-white.

…as the wealthy liberals fight to revive slavery once again, and add to the already increasing human trafficking and child prostitution in America. Don’t they realize these immigration laws were put into place to prevent the exploitation of a human life? The African field slave has been replaced by the Hispanic migrant worker. Same situation, different title.

  • Steelcomb

Bring in the slave labor!! We need it!

“In Detroit, 50% of black men are unemployed. It’s not that there aren’t any jobs …”

Oh really? “not there aren’t any jobs”?

Ignorance or stupidity or dishonesty – are any mix of the three you can imagine.

Take a look at the decline in jobs in Detroit over the past three decades.

The claim that black unemployment is a result of immigration is, oure and simple, A LIE.
