Syria Won’t Talk to US Unless Kerry Apologizes

Look it’s another John Kerry diplomatic success (TM). The US really has the upper hand in Syria negotiations ever since Kerry announced that any strike would be “unbelievably small” which is exactly what the neurosurgeon said about his brain and handed over control of the diplomatic situation to Syria.

And Syria has decided to slap John Kerry around because they know how weak and useless he is.

Syria’s foreign minister Walid Muallem said on Saturday that the Syrian delegation is refusing the U.S. request for direct negotiations with the rebels unless Secretary of State John Kerry apologize for his remarks at the Geneva II talks.

“The Americans asked us to negotiate directly with them in Montreux,” Muallem told Syrian state reporters during the flight home from 10 days of talks in Switzerland.

In his opening remarks at the conference, Kerry said that Syria’s embattled President Bashar Assad “will not be part” of the next Syrian government.

“There is no way, not possible in the imagination, that the man who has led the brutal response to his own people could regain legitimacy to govern,” Kerry said.

According to the Syrian state news agency SANA, Muallem said his delegation refused to come back for direct talks with the opposition “before Secretary of State John Kerry apologized for what he said at the conference.”

This is what smart power and soft power looks like with the Viet Cong’s buddy reporting for diplomatic duty.

It isn’t really necessary to belabor the obvious and call Kerry an idiot, but he is an idiot. I feel better for having said so.

Kerry went into the Geneva II talks as only an abject fool would. He attacked one of the parties in the negotiation, before it began, even arrogantly decreeing that Assad will be deposed before the conflict was over. What then is the point of negotiating and why would Assad’s bunch negotiate in good faith? I guess only Obama can top that kind of world class stupidity.

This latest episode of “Being There; Chauncy’s Dumber Twin,” is a perfect example of how mediocre minds substitute ideology for intellect, and how those minds, constipated with arrogance and ideology, can’t grasp even the simplest things. Kerry would accomplish more if he just liked to watch.
