Taxpayer Funded College: “The Acts of Looting, Destruction of Property and Violence is Not Only Warranted, it is Necessary.”

After the murder of two New York police officers, the Mau Mauing left suddenly began pretending that it had in no way, shape or form been demonizing the police and white people in general. Of course the left had been doing just that.

A disturbing editorial in a CUNY grad-student newspaper calls for rioters protesting the deaths of Eric Garner and Michael Brown to arm themselves and wage violent war with cops.

“The time for peace has passed,” says a revolutionary editorial titled “In Support of Violence” that was penned by editor-in-chief Gordon Barnes in the Dec. 3 issue of The Advocate.

“The problem with the protesters’ violence in Ferguson is that it is unorganized. If the violence was to be organized, and the protesters armed — more so than the few that sparingly are — then the brunt of social pressures would not be laid onto middling proprietors [of looted small businesses], but unto those deserving the most virulent response of an enraged populace,” Barnes writes in the CUNY Grad Center’s publication.

“The acts of looting, destruction of property and violence directed towards state representatives is not only warranted, it is necessary,” says Barnes, a doctoral student in history who once studied in Cuba.

“The violence against property, that is destruction and theft, is only an unorganized form of something with the potential to be far more revolutionary and inspiring,” says Barnes, who is paid from $10,000 to $20,000 a year as a graduate assistant and who also pockets an annual stipend of $24,000 as a Presidential MAGNET fellow, according to his LinkedIn page.

CUNY once proved that free higher education could transform America. Now it just proves that violent illiterates can get a college degree in Racism 101 subsidized by overloaded New York taxpayers.

But it’s a given that Gordon Banes won’t be arming himself and waging war from his grad assistant post. Like all true revolutionaries, he’ll be keyboard warrioring on the actual killers like Ismayil Abdullah Brinsley.

CUNY really needs defunding.

I wonder if we are going to see a return of armed leftist groups like back in the 1970s…

“The acts of looting, destruction of property and violence directed
towards state representatives is not only warranted, it is necessary”

Uh, you mean like liquor stores, hair styling parlors, nail clinics, bodega grocery stores, and auto parts stores? Riiiiiight.
    .

    • Pete

Too many bodega stores get burned and I think a whole community will turn against them.

It’s worse than the Post’s article let’s on. Here’s some quotes:

“The time for peace has passed, indeed it never existed in this country. It doesn’t matter if Brown robbed a convenience store, or even if he assaulted Wilson. What matters is that the case highlights the depths to which the capitalist state and its police forces will protect their own and attempt to stifle any sort of dissent.”

This is something that DG talked about in “Life in Post-Truth America.”

“If people could, they would target the police, but the protesters know that a direct confrontation … at this time would likely result in their deaths. The destruction of property in the area is the next best option.”

Chants of “Dead Cops” wasn’t just a mob out of control but clearly a policy arrived at by leftist doctrine written in the calm halls of academia.

Even the State Department hates the regime in Burkino Faso. Barne needs to go.

The Disclaimer does not work. If an occasional or 10% of an Editor in chief writes does not comport with an organizations ideals that is one thing. But if you distance your self from 1/2 or more of it, then you have to distance yourself with more than boiler plate. The Editor-in-Chief needs to start his own paper. Either that or you are in on it and doing the old wink, wink, nod, nod routine and fooling very few.

Schools need to get out of sports and any and all extra curricular activities. De Vry is looking better all the time.

With Thomas Sankara, strip away the “dashing communist revolutionary” persona and you have, surprise, surprise, another stereotypical African tin pot dictator…

  • Yehuda Levi

An individual who calls for violence, organized or not, should be on the front lines of that violence doing it himself – otherwise he is a hypocrite.

Leftist cowards, hiding behind a keyboard, have no right to advocate for something they themselves are not willing to do.

  • Horace Yo

The non communist Alumni, parents of current students, and conservative business people and patriots throughout the land need to fire the propagandizing disloyal faculty of these communist indoctrination centers that have replaced and taken over the buildings, faculty and administrations of the American University system. They are destroying America’s future as fast as they can with a combination of amorality and amplified hate for traditional America. They took over in the name of free thought and free speech, but now that they are in power they forbid any free thought or speech that isn’t in line with the leftist party line. They refuse to hire faculty who won’t go along with their agenda. They want only left wing ideologues. University administrations have become the smiley face front men for this brainwashing machine. They are destroying the future leaders and thinkers of America, creating more idiots and morons for legislators and the judiciary, and mis-educated boobs instead of educated graduates.

I’m not an expert on the law, so I’m wondering if he can be arrested for incitement to violence.

    • Bamaguje

Hate speech and incitement to violence.

    • Joe The Gentile

Unfortunately, what I’ve seen above seems constitutionally protected, according to the Supreme Court, as mere advocacy of violence. See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brandenburg_v._Ohio

Perhaps not but what about the school taking action? His article states attacking the police (any police!) would be desirable if one could get away with it. Microaggression or far worse?

Surely there are some students who are police or children of police who find this offensive. Given the oversensitivity on college campuses this should set off alarms. Imagine if someone wrote that it would be desirable to attack Muslims (any Muslims) or even Islamists. Do we doubt the school would take actions against the editor in that case?

C’mon, CUNY, this is verbal aggression against all members of the police force and small store owners. If it is not allowed against Muslims it shouldn’t be allowed against the police and small business owners.

      • Pete

I went to a hobby blog written by NYPD officer. He is definitely angry.
There is no way, no how a person gets away from the filth that is the Left.

I cannot even watch TV without seeing the actress that accused Bill Clinton of raping her. It was just like Cosby except that Clinton is in good standing with the Democrat Party so there is great risk for any other women to come forward.

You definitely cannot get away from the Left on a college campus. At the least you pass their encampments or protests when going to class. When they are not trying to take over academic departments, they are taking over student funding. If you are apolitical, you are not immune. They cut your funding and drive you off campus.

        • Dave Turson

One woman (Juanita Broaddrick) accused Bill Clinton
of rape. Her story — when closely examined through online sources — does not pass the test. You should attempt to get the facts right when making such a serious charge.

            Your link is proof?
            I went there. Go fish!

          • Dave Turson

There are many articles online — I easily grabbed one, so you can fish for yourself. I’m in a generous mood, so here is one more to counter the Sen. Rand Paul School of Not Seeking The Facts:

            http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/fact-checker/wp/2014/02/12/pauls-claim-that-at-least-half-a-dozen-women-called-clinton-a-sexual-predator

          • Pete

It took years for the allegations against Cosby to stick.
Clinton is much more powerful than Cosby. People not wanting to be harassed or threatened will change their story.
I cannot see why Elizabeth Gracen would come out and accuse Clinton. She still had her looks and still had acting jobs. It was more of a risk for her to accuse Clinton than to stay silent.
You support Clinton. You own it.
You initial article gave both sides. It gave no conclusive proof one way or the other. You 2nd lame attempt is the Washington Post, which after the Grey Lady is America’s newspaper of record and nowadays a very suspect cast of characters.
            Lame. Go Fish!

          • Dave Turson

I now realize you are online as a gossiper. Enjoy yourself — no need to add three more paragraphs as I am moving on.

          • Pete

And you are liberal intent on defending Clinton at all costs.

          • Pete

            Wow, are you ever liberal!

IMO Khadijah Lynch was merely being stupid and boorish (not the right word but stupid does not cover it all), when she said she had no sympathy for the murdered cops. When she said she was in riot mode that comes right up to the line and may cross it.

I think Barnes has clearly crossed it. He needs to be prosecuted and expelled.

Barnes is not some poster who is calling for a revolution. He is an editor of a newspaper. The 2 are different. You see Hiernoymous calling out a few anonymous or semi-anonymous posters here. He wants a mea culpa or prosecution. Let’s see what dear old Hiernonymous says about this.

  • http://ruleofreason.blogspot.com/ Edward Cline

Gordon Barnes also needs to be defunded and defanged. He needs to be put to work sweeping streets, or emptying recycle bins, or some other demeaning job (demeaning to him, at least) that would drive home to him just how much he is worth to anyone.

What the police should do is refuse to go into areas where the people who are participating in this rhetoric and anti cop demonstrations live. Let them feel the consequences of their actions as violent criminals and anarchy surround them. Those who don’t want to live that way can flee their homes and live in refugee camps like the innocent or cowardly people in other war torn countries have to do. The problem will be keeping the criminals inside their areas so that they don’t spread this virus to other neighborhoods.

    • Bamaguje

I suggested the same thing before – NYPD should go on strike for a few days or even weeks… handing over the city to violent mobs and criminals.

May be then leftist anarchists like Barnes who incite cop-killing violence would then appreciate the selfless service of police officers.

  • KyraNelson

The good thing about living in NYC is that there are lots of opportunities for reality checks. Probably more coming to a theatre near you. If this armchair revolutionary is white, he will soon be disabused of his idiotic ideology. Hopefully by a “group” intervention.

  • cheechakos

Then Gordon Barnes will have no problem with anyone protesting his teachings and his incitement of violence ,looting and burning down his house.

    • JayWye

or torching his office. maybe even roughing him up.

  • EileenRight

This guy’s photo would have been on a post office wall in earlier days..

  • Hard Little Machine

I hope the NYPD walks off the job for a month.

    • kiwi41

Evidently it’s not legal for them to go on strike, but they should be VERY selective as to the areas they respond to, very sloooowly, with multiple cars, even better, armoured riot vehicles.
And make this an indefinite policy.

      • The March Hare

When a Cincinnati cop chased a teenager up a blind alley, the kid turned around and stuck his hand down into the front of his pants as if to retrieve a gun. The cop shot and killed him and it turned out he didn’t have a gun. Riots ensued and cops were accused of murder for every hoodlum that had been shot in the prior 5 years.
The cry of murder went up loud and often and all over national TV. The neighborhood screamed about the rotten cops and the cops answer was to no longer enter the neighborhoods unless actually called for help. After several years the neighborhoods requested regular police presence on the streets again. Turned out the police helped keep the neighborhood more safe and the residents learned that the hard way.

So if he was using the school’s IP address or computers, the PBA and the families should sue them in civil court.

Look at the way the SPLC defunded what was left of the Klan, small and basically nonexistent as it was. They found the deep pockets and made themay.
