Turkey to Teach Muslim Discovery of America in Schools

The USSR claimed to have invented absolutely everything. Soviet children were taught that everything from the locomotive to the airplane had been invented in Russia. Muslims can’t seem to stop jumping headlong into the same xenophobic delusional propaganda.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Tuesday hit back at ridicule of his claim that Islamic explorers discovered the Americas three centuries before Columbus, accusing his Muslim critics of lacking “self-confidence”.

In an aggressive rebuttal of the criticism heaped in some quarters on his comments, Erdogan also suggested that the purported “discovery” of the Americas by Muslims should be taught in schools.

“A big responsibility falls on the shoulders of the national education ministry and YOK (higher education board) on this issue,” Erdogan said at a ceremony in Ankara.

“If the history of science is written objectively, it will be seen that Islamic geography’s contribution to science is much more than what’s known,” Erdogan said in televised comments.

Muslims invented geography. And science. Also making stuff up. Muslim explorers discovered America and immediately flew the planes they had just invented into it.

Erdogan, a pious Muslim who has been in power for more than a decade, stirred up controversy on Saturday when he claimed the Americas were discovered by Muslims in the 12th century, nearly three centuries before Christopher Columbus.

He cited as evidence for his claim that “Columbus mentioned the existence of a mosque on a hill on the Cuban coast.”

The AFP doesn’t bother to clarify that Columbus was talking about a hill that looked like a mosque, not a mosque. The indigenous Cubans engaged in ancestor worship. They were quite obviously not Muslims. If Muslims had encountered them, they would have beheaded them.

But congratulations to Erdogan who after having picked fights with

1. Egypt

2. Syria

3. Cyprus

4. Israel

has really gone out of his way to pick a fight with Cuba.

This whole farce began when some moron years ago asserted that Columbus’s first voyage navigator was a Muslim. Now it’s devolved to Muslims beating the infidel Christians to America. And, yes, Daniel’s right. If Muslims had discovered America first, Indians would have been captured, enslaved, and sent to the North African coast to perish under Muslim whips, and Indian women sent to harems, just as about two million Europeans from Iceland to Italy were captured and taken to North Africa for the same reasons and to the same fates over ten centuries.

    • drygoldfeld

Yes Mr Cline , your argument is proof that Muslims did not discover America .

      • http://www.stubbornthings.org NAHALKIDES

No one has to prove a negative. We know that Columbus discovered America and you have no evidence that some Muslim discovered it earlier (pretty unlikely since Muslims are anti-science and anti-reason). Conclusion: Columbus, and not some Muslim, discovered America.

The Indians did perish, but under Spanish Catholic whips and Anglo Saxon guns and poisoned blankets made with pieces of infected skin.

      But your point is taken.

How many times does the the ‘poisoned blankets’ myth have to be debunked for people to just stop claiming it already?
        It’s getting ridiculous.

I like the new pic :)

        • hiernonymous

Probably because there is a documented historical case of “infected blankets” being used as biological warfare. You’re correct, it had nothing to do with Columbus, the Spanish, or the enslavement of Native Americans in Spanish America – it was, in fact, the British in North America – but there’s a kernel of truth there. The blankets were used at the siege of Fort Pitt in 1763. Turns out that the science was all wrong – the blankets are unlikely to have been able to transmit smallpox – but there was, in fact, a smallpox epidemic among Pontiac’s people at the time (probably originally caught from infected Europeans during raids on settlements).

And just where did the Spanish Catholics learn their brutal tactics? Probably from being oppressed by muslims for several centuries.

Self-delusion and folly are the most dangerous, most deadly, and most pervasive human afflictions prevalent in the world today. Unfortunately, the taller the tower of lies and self-deception a society builds for itself, the harder and more destructive is the inevitable fall when the truth is finally revealed.

Western Civilization was built on the foundation of the teachings of Jesus Christ who put the ideals of truth and freedom above all things: If you keep my commands, you will really be my disciples, then you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free. When truth is threatened, freedom is necessarily threatened as well.

Unfortunately, we have reached a point in the history of Western Civilization where we must decide if we will continue to elevate the values of truth and freedom above all things, or whether we shall go down the well-trodden path of lies, submission and slavery which has been, by far, the more dominant tendency of all civilizations throughout history.

Muslims are fond of this sort of bogus self-glorifying revisionism
Abraham, Moses, David, Jacob and Jesus were all Muslim prophets.
Pakistan teaches her children that India belongs to them.

And the Muslim favorite – there’s no historical evidence of Jewish presence in Judea & Samaria. “Palestinians” are indigenous, Jews are “occupiers.”
Temple mount was a mosque built by Muslims.

And in 2014 I thought I discovered Mr. Erdogan is an idiot.
But then I discovered that a few million others, including many Turks, discovered it in 2013, 2012, 2011… all the way down to 1965 when his idiocy became apparent to his kindergarten leaders.

  • Hard Little Machine

So blame that whole disease pandemic that wiped out >90% of them, on the Turks.

  • Exsaint

Someone should tell Erdogan about the history of Turkey. How would he react to the fact that Christians arrived there centuries before Muslims?

    • http://www.stubbornthings.org NAHALKIDES

I hesitate to think about it – he might try to erase any trace of early Christianity from Turkey.

      • paendragon

        They already did:

“Turkey’ used to be known as TARSUS (where Saul or ‘saint Paul’ came from)! It was also known as THRACE and ANATOLIA; part of GREECE.

        • http://www.stubbornthings.org NAHALKIDES

          Interesting.

          • paendragon

“Istanbul” (‘Stamboul) used to be known as the Greek city of CONSTANTINOPLE, before Dracula chased their Sultan there, where he accidentally managed to conquer it. Oops.

It’s to provide sharia legal cover for jihad attacks in the Americas. Islam needs a caliph to engage in full blown offensive jihad and they don’t have one since Mustafa Kemal Pasha abolished the caliphate 90 years ago.
They can engage in defensive jihad anywhere that muslims have ever ruled, so they need to lay claim to the Americas, and Australia, by lying about discovering them first.
That’s all it is, pure and simple sharia legal butt covering.

    • paendragon

Not really. Emigration to take over the world is already integral in the Qur’an.

  • Gloria Stewart

There are schools in the United States – their exact name escapes me – run by Fethulah Gulen. Will they teach this also?
