UK, Germany, France Endorse Hamas Demands on Gaza

It’s official. Hamas is the new PLO.
And three major European governments now endorse its demands for free weapons smuggling into Gaza.
From the Joint statement by the Foreign Ministers of France, the United Kingdom and Germany on the situation in Middle East (as per IMRA) who are Laurent Fabius, Foreign Minister of France, Philip Hammond, Foreign Secretary of the United Kingdom and Frank-Walter Steinmeier, Foreign Minister of Germany…
“To be sustainable, a ceasefire must envisage steps to address both Israeli security concerns and Palestinian requirements regarding the lifting of restrictions on Gaza.”
Israel has security “concerns” while Hamas has “requirements”. And you know which takes priority. Concerns or requirements.
As Yisrael Medad points out, the German version explicitly calls for lifting the blockade of Gaza. The French version sticks to the ‘restrictions’ language.
But perhaps this was translated from the original German in more ways than one.
French FM Fabius was unusually aggressive before.
France’s foreign minister is calling on the international community to impose a solution on Israel and Hamas, saying the warring sides have shown themselves unable to negotiate.
He said a cease-fire, followed by a two-state solution, is needed and “should be imposed by the international community because, despite numerous attempts, the two sides have shown themselves to be incapable of concluding negotiations.”
I suppose this would be a good time to ask, “You and what army?” Israel isn’t Cote D’Ivoire or Mali, though Fabius may not be clear on that.
