UN Probe Head Says Netanyahu is a War Criminal, Can’t Say if Hamas are Terrorists

schab

Don’t ever change UN. Then we might have to start taking you seriously.

International Law Professor William Schabas, appointed to head the UNHRC probe into Israel’s defensive strikes against Hamas has already decided what the verdict will be.

Because it’s the UN.

Neuer also noted that Schabas once called for “going after” Israel’s then-President Shimon Peres in the ICC, saying, “Why are we going after the president of Sudan for Darfur, and not the president of Israel for Gaza?” Last year, Schabas declared, “My favorite would be Netanyahu within the dock of the International Criminal Court.”

But he’s remaining carefully neutral on the question of whether Hamas terrorists... are terrorists.

The man chosen to head the United Nations Human Rights Council’s latest probe into the war in Gaza won’t state clearly whether Hamas is a terror group.

Kushmaro: “By the way, do you consider Hamas a terror organization?”

Silence.

And then Schabas sighed and said, “It would be inappropriate for me to answer a question like that, uh, given what I said earlier, about having to start basically with a blank sheet and start to study this question in as neutral and objective a manner as possible. It would be inappropriate for me,” he repeated, “given my position.”

That’s a “No”.

This guy is like a parody of pedantic liberal “intellectuals” who can’t even distinguish between right and wrong. Have these people ever thought “Hey, maybe we shouldn’t stay this stuff out loud? We kinda sound like complete imbeciles.”

    • nobullhere

They don’t distinguish between good and evil and right and wrong. Their moral compass has weak and strong and rich and poor, and we know where Israel and his sob story palenazis fit on his moral compass.

  • chelmer

Calling Hamas “terrorists” is above his pay grade. Calling Netanyahu a war criminal, and dumb looks, are free.

  • nobullhere

Shouldn’t that terrorist shrill have retired by now? He looks as if he can’t be far off his centenary, proving that the worst do indeed often live to a ripe old age.

Ugh. He’s not much older than me. He looks as if he was discovered in Tutankhamen’s tomb.

And they’ll still blame Israel just as the rope gets slipped around their necks, or on the first contact of skin with blade.

This is why the UN should be dismantled, but at very least uncoupled to America. No more money for these a-holes and no more allowing the UN to effect our course of action. Throw it out of New York and let the diplomats swim home. Chum the water heavily for days in advance…

Maybe I missed it, but I don’t recall seeing any Arabs protesting against this attack, or writing anguished op-eds about how a fellow Muslim could have done such a thing. No Arab groups popped up on college campuses calling for solidarity with Jews against terror. There were no UN resolutions condemning the massacre.
But there was a PA-sponsored soccer tournament in Tulkarem named after the suicide bomber.

Hamas doesn’t pretend that they were targeting the army, as they sometimes pretend to nowadays. They say explicitly that they targeted a passenger bus. This is a pure celebration of terrorism. They even include photos that show dead bodies.

Six of the dead were over 65 years old.
Hamas is also proud that some 100 people were wounded in the attack.

Hamas celebrates 11th anniversary of Rishon LeZion terror attack
    May 7, 2013

Hamas might be telling Western media that it never targets civilians, but in Arabic it celebrates the deaths of innocents it killed every day.

The latest on the Al Qassam website (only the Arabic version, naturally) celebrates the 11th anniversary of the Rishon LeZion terror attack. Wikipedia describes the attack:

On Tuesday, 7 May 2002 at 11:03 pm, a Palestinian suicide bomber detonated a hidden explosive device within a crowded game club full of people located in the new industrial area of Rishon Lezion, only 10 km south of Tel Aviv, killing 16 innocent civilians and injuring 55 people, 10 of them in critical condition.

After the attack the Israeli police stated that the suicide bomber was carrying a briefcase full of explosives and in addition was also wearing an explosive belt. The police estimated that the total weight of explosives were between 7 to 8 kilograms, and stated that the briefcase contained also metal fragments and bolts in order to maximize the number of casualties in the attack.
Ten of the fatalities were over 50 years old.

Hamas calls it a “heroic” operation, saying that over 20 “Zionists” were killed and over 60 injured, “most of them in critical condition.”

Hamas didn’t take credit for the attack until six years later, when it held a “wedding feast” for the bomber and his fictional virgins in paradise. His daughter is quoted as being proud of her terrorist father.

The woman who drive the bomber to the attack was caught and sentenced to 20 years – but was released in the Gilad Shalit swap.

Hamas brags about eleven years of terrorism
The Palestine Times website published an article today listing Hamas’ terrorist accomplishments since the beginning of the terror war that began in September 2000.

They brag about three specific acts of terror:

The massacre at the Mercaz Harav yeshiva killing 8 students
The attack by a laser-guided anti-tank missile against a schoolbus, killing a child (that they claim was a “soldier”)

The Park Hotel Passover massacre killing 30, mostly elderly, Jews. (Hamas inflates the number of victims to 36.)

The article says that in the past eleven years Hamas has committed:

    4303 terror attacks
    61 suicide attacks
    24 attempts to capture Israelis
    423 bombings
    90 sniper attacks
    146 ambushes

In addition, they claim 8085 projectiles fired from Gaza, of which 2627 were Qassam rockets and 303 were Grad rockets.

They claim to have killed 910 “Zionists” in that time period, while losing 1697 of their members. Not civilians – 1697 dead Hamas terrorists. This doesn’t include members of other terror groups like Fatah and Islamic Jihad.

It is clear from the article that Hamas considers the second intifada to still be going on.

Speaking with Israel’s Channel 2, Schabas declined to say whether or not he considers Hamas a terrorist organization, averring that it would prejudge the commission’s work.

Amazing! Here is the list of terror attacks Hamas themselves admitted to have committed
    ——————–
Ar article from 2003 listing terror attacks for which Hamas claimed responsibility. From their own mouths, Hamas representatives “claim responsibility” for the murder of infants, children of all ages, pregnant women, old men and women. They have murdered hundreds, orphaned and maimed thousands more.

After reading the list, I can think of only two possible reasons that France and the European Union would not immediately freeze Hamas’ assets and publicly label them as the terrorist organization they show themselves to be. One reason would be that the vast majority of Hamas’s victims are Jews, and clearly history has shown that Europe’s reaction to the murder of Jews is tainted by its inherent anti-Semitism. The second reason can only be utter stupidity. Your choice, Mr. Gourdault-Mondagne.

Read the list below and then I hope, given the “clear cut” evidence, you will agree that it is time to “change the EU’s stand.”

On Aug. 19, 2003, twenty one people were killed and over 130 wounded in a suicide bombing of Egged bus #2 on Shmuel HaNavi Street in Jerusalem. Be careful. That list will make Uncle Adolf’s zip fly burst. And it is conclusive proof that Hamas and its leaders need wiping off the face of the earth.

After reading the list, I can think of only two possible reasons that France and the European Union would not immediately freeze Hamas’ assets and publicly label them as the terrorist organization they show themselves to be.

There’s also a third reason: They’re gutless wimps.

  • Fritz Kohlhaas

Typical of the UN to send this imbecile to “investigate”!

  • guy from israel

Funny thing is that ehud olmert was the israeli prime minister during the previous operation in gaza (cast lead). Netanyahu was the opposition leader! This is just pure malice toward bibi….

“no adult civilians in ISLAMIC JIHAD”

09.3 Jihad is also (0: personally) obligatory for everyone (0: able to perform it,

    male or female,old or young)

when the enemy has surrounded the Muslims (0:
on every side, having entered our territory, even if the land
consists of ruins, wilderness, or mountains, for non-Muslim forces
entering Muslim lands is a weighty matter that cannot be ignored, but
must be met with effort and struggle to repel them by every possible
    means.

We’ve got to admit that Professor William Schabas is living proof, amongst others, that there’s often nothing more stupid than a supposedly educated person.

  • Elliott

Instead of asking Prof. Schabas if he thinks hamas is a terrorist organisation, ask him for a UNHRC definition of a Terrorist Group / Organisation. Then see if hamas fits. It does? It’s a Terrorist Group / Organisation; it doesn’t: it isn’t. Then determine what hamas is, and prosecute it for War Crimes.

  • Larry Larkin

Gee the Israelis are incompetent then. There are more than twice as many fakestinians in Gaza alone as there were “refugees” in 1948.
    World’s worst attempt at genocide.

    Happy eternal nakba dirtbag.

  • Dragomir Kollaric

In the QURAN allah GIVES the land to the “CHILDREN OF ISRAEL” (this is of course taken from the OT)

Moses is a ISLAMICleader, who leads the people to the promised land… NOTE! I am speaking about the HOLEY BOOK the HAMAS MUSLIMS adhere to.

    IN THE QURAN!

    Sura 17:103-104,
(til the LAST DAY, JUDGEMENT DAY)

    Sura 2:47, 53,

    Sura 4:163

BTW look up some images about the “12 tribes of Israel” and HOW much LAND he has promised TO the “CHILDREN OF ISRAEL” ….. GAZA would still be THEIRS, the “Jews” of course!

They’re Palenazis, the Palestinian version of the likes of yourself. And like the genocidal monster you support, they’ll fail in their quest to wipe the Jews off the face of the earth. And we’ve never known of a genocide which doubles the population. Still, you’re living proof that they do indeed allow internet access at lunatic asylums.
