US Muslim Cleric Who Defended Raping 9-Year-Old Condemns Boko Haram

Daniel Greenfield, a Shillman Journalism Fellow at the Freedom Center, is a New York writer focusing on radical Islam. He is completing a book on the international challenges America faces in the 21st century.

Finally moderate Muslims in the US are stepping forward to condemn Boko Haram. Like genocide enthusiast Hatem Bazian, ex-Farrakhanite Keith Ellison, Hamas supporter Nihad Awad and Sheikh Hamza Yusuf of Zaytuna.

It’s ironic that Hamza Yusuf would be signing on to a letter condemning Boko Haram for kidnapping young girls, when Yusuf has some rather interesting views on child marriage.

Discussing Mohammed’s rape of his child wife, Sheikh Hamza Yusuf said that, “Each culture has its own traditions and its own way of doing things.”

Like raping little girls. According to Yusuf, that’s apparently okay once they stop playing with dolls.

For the Muslim, obviously, it’s going to be, ‘What does the Sharia say?’ But it’s important to realize that this was a normal thing within their society…there’s some discussion as to whether she was nine or twelve, but he did not take her into his household until she gave up playing with her dolls. That was the sign that she was no longer a child. So she was an adult when the Prophet brought her into his household. And that’s something that Sharia permits.”

Other things Sharia permits include 1. Beating women 2. Killing non-Muslims 3. Kidnapping non-Muslim women and raping them.

But each culture has its own horrifying traditions. And who are we to judge?

“Childhood was an invention of renaissance Europe. Prior to the Renaissance, children became adults at the age of 7 or 8. If a girl has her period at nine, she is considered an adult. If she had a period before nine, she is still not eligible for marriage, but nine and above, it’s ok. Nine year old to us is still a child, but a lot of that has to do with our own socialization.”

… said every pedophile ever.

  • Softly Bob

Cannibals used to eat each other and some cultures in Ancient Times used to sacrifice human beings to their gods.
Nothing wrong with that. It may be to us, but that’s only the result of our own socialization!

    • AllisC

Everyone who does some thing for their god KNOWS they are RIGHT. All religions are poison especially Xianity and Islam.

    • AllisC

And to this day the catholics do the cannibal thing every sunday. Worse yet they bring their children out to kneel in front of pedophiles and take things in their mouths …AND believe this is somehow perfectly NORMAL????????

      • Softly Bob

WTF are you rambling on about? You’re imagining things. Get your head tested, freak. You’re disgusting!

        • AllisC

Catholics eat the flesh of christ and drink his blood every Sunday. Fact. They take their kids to do it too. Fact. They kneel in front of pedophiles. Fact.
Look it up soft head bob.
          Transubstantiation!!! Great Stuff. Yummy!

And a truly god like practice that is happening today all over the world . Just the way god wants it.

          metzitzah b’peh

          • Softly Bob

Yes, they eat his flesh for real, despite the fact that he died nearly 2000 years ago.
            It’s symbolic, you idiot!!!!
As for kneeling in front of pedophiles, just because some priests were caught as pedos, doesn’t mean that they all are. That’s like going to Oklahoma and claiming that everybody is there is a bomber just because Timothy McVeigh was.
Besides Catholicism is only one sect of Christianity and doesn’t represent Anglicans, Baptists, Methodists and so on…
You’re the one who’s soft in the head, you gibbering clown!

Yes, highly ironic that any of these guys would condemn Boko Haram for doing something that is completely in line with what they themselves have condoned, what the Koran itself teaches, and what their revered “Prophet” did himself.
It’s a good thing that most of them have a low IQ as a result of inbreeding, or they would surely be suffering from severe cognitive dissonance by now.

    • AllisC

Boko Haram are doing exactly what Xians did not that long ago. Kill everyone except keep the virgins and little boys for pleasure.

      • Softly Bob

You’re a liar and a revisionist historian. You are simply vile!

  • seewithyourowneyes

He doesn’t even get his excuse right. Aisha is described as playing with dolls after her marriage to Mohammed.

  • DogmaelJones1

If a girl is still playing with dolls by the time she’s sweet sixteen, the Muslim husband had better take away those dolls so he can get on with it. But apparently age really doesn’t matter. There are stories of Muslim men raping infants. For a religion that discourages women from making themselves “fresh meet” by not covering their hair, ankles, wrists, faces, Muslim men just go hunting for it. I’ve always said that Islam inculcates psychosis and psychopathy.

  • Gauchogran

Stop the madness. Our politicians need to deport every Muslim back to where they came from. All of them. The smartest ones first. Just free our country from these people who love murdering others and raping children.

  • knightsman

Modern liberal ideology is very twisted and immoral.

  • ObamaYoMoma

Unfortunately, the delusional Marxist totalitarian left will cite this as proof that not all Muslims are barbarians. Never mind the fact that it took all of this time for those taqiyya artists to manufacture their intentionally deceptive message. It’s obvious that this message is meant to dupe gullible useful idiot infidels because it is clearly deliberate deception, i.e., taqiyya.

In Islam, it is permissible for Muslims to lie to deceive infidels, and this message is obviously intended to deceive American infidels and at the same time to save face for the Muslim community here in the USA that have been put in a precarious position as a result of this development. Indeed, that is the reason why they released their letter to the mass media. Nonetheless, the truth is Islam sanctions everything Boko Haram is doing, but they will never admit it to infidels.

In practice, however, Muslims never ever criticize acts of jihad perpetrated in the cause of Allah because to do so would be blasphemous and blasphemy in Islam is a capital offense. Indeed, it’s the sole reason why the Muslim masses in the USA were so silent following the 9/11 violent jihad attacks. With the exception of certain selected Muslim spokesman, it is the reason the Muslim masses largely remain silent regarding acts of jihad to this day.

Nevertheless, all Muslims are jihadists in one form or another. A tiny minority of them are violent jihadists, while the vast overwhelming majority of them are non-violent stealth and deceptive jihadists.

    • AllisC

Also true if , inyour note, you substitute Xianity for Islam , Xians for muslims and the Xian Right for jihadists. Try it!

Christians criticize, mock and condemn fundamentalists each and every day, and across a very broad range of media, all over the world.

The rest of your post is gibberish as it is a cut and paste with substituted words, in a crude attempt at irony.

  • Texas Patriot

Boko Haram is very dangerous and must be condemned by other Muslims, not because it does not follow the authentic teachings and life example of Muhammad and his followers, but rather because it does, and that makes it more difficult, if not impossible, for other Muslims to represent Islam as a religion of peace which jeopardizes the overall goals and objectives of global Islamic jihad. The Tsarnaev brothers were widely condemned for the same reason.

How about kill 40 kids for laughing at a bald man?
We woulnt want to mention that little gem from the bible

          • sammid

2 Kings 2:23-24 “From there Elisha went up to Bethel. As he was walking along the road, some youths came out of the town and jeered at him. ‘Go on up, you baldhead!’ they said. ‘Go on up, you baldhead!’ He turned around, looked at them and called down a curse on them in the name of the LORD. Then two bears came out of the woods and mauled forty-two of the youths.” It seems unbelievable that God would cause two bears to maul a group of children for making fun of a man for being bald. (the scripture does not say that they were killed, but that they were mauled)

First, the King James Version has done us a disservice by translated the term as “children.” The Hebrew word can refer to children, but rather more specifically means “young men.” The NIV, quoted here, uses the word “youths.” Second, the fact that the bears mauled 42 of the youths indicates that there were more than 42 youths involved. This was not a small group of children making fun of a bald man. Rather, it was a large demonstration of young men who assembled for the purpose of mocking a prophet of God.

2 Kings 2:23-24 is not an account of God mauling young children for making fun of a bald man. Rather, it is a record of an insulting demonstration against God’s prophet by a large group of young men. Because these young people of about 20 years of age or older (the same term is used of Solomon in1 Kings 3:7) so despised the prophet of the Lord, Elisha called upon the Lord to deal with the rebels as He saw fit. The Lord’s punishment was the mauling of 42 of them by two female bears. The penalty was clearly justified, for to ridicule Elisha was to ridicule the Lord Himself. The seriousness of the crime was indicated by the seriousness of the punishment. The appalling judgment was God’s warning to all who would scorn the prophets of the Lord.

My advice AllisC: stop mocking God!

          • AllisC

What a laugh. You can justify anything in your mind. Rewrite the verses, make it up a you go. The funniest bit is that you actally believe the stories and believe the drivel you write. So, killing is just a fine end for these guys.!!! Yup they pissed off god so thats it. Sure is merciful alright. Good thing god, jesus, and all the rest are pure myth, never existed.!!!

          • sammid

You didn’t actually read my reply did you? The scripture does not say that they were killed. I didn’t rewrite the verses or make it up.
I feel bad for you AllisC. It’s obvious that you are filled with hate and anger and rage toward a God you don’t believe in. Odd, isn’t it….
Who hurt you so badly that you cannot trust again?

          • AllisC

It matters not if they were killed or not. My points are the severe punishment from a supposed god and the absurdity of the story. I went to the link. I found it very typically written with many phrases like…….scripture says……or jesus says. I feel sorry for a person who has been brainwashed to the point that they use a book of myths to guide their life…..and……even stranger to actually pray for something.
This story about the bears is perfect example of how xians cherry pick bits of the bible, explain it away with novel interpretation or worst of all simply say god gave us life so he can kill whomever he wants to. Bizarre behavior. I have had many debates with xians onthe absurdity and harm of religion. They all say…..you cant prove god doesnt exist….and …the bible provesjesus existed. It is obvious to the rational world that the bible is a book of myths and that most players including jesus never actually existed. I wonder when you were evangelized….probably as a child…..you never had a chance..tragic.

          • AllisC

we find the prophet Elisha (not to be confused with Elijah, who got swept up to heaven by a whirlwind earlier in the chapter) innocently making his way to Bethel. At least 42 young people emerge from the town (must have been a really boring town) to ridicule Elisha’s follicly-challenged head. This is clearly a sensitive issue for Elisha, and he calls upon the almighty to defend his pride. Yahweh sees it as fit punishment to unleash two bears upon 42 of the youths (presumably, the worst offenders). The King James version says the bears areshe bears, and we know mother bears can be especially edgy, but surely they did not confuse Elijah’s bald head for one of their cubs? One also wonders why the bears were able to attack 42 of the youths. If you were an incorrigible and unscrupulous youth and saw your comrades mauled by the bears, surely you’d flee for safety. The bears would have to be pretty darn fast or unrelenting to maul 21 apiece. Try to visualize this scenario; it’s hard to do. Some try to defend this passage by saying the “youths” were in their twenties or thereabouts, not children. Like that somehow makes being maimed by a bear fair punishment for teasing a bald man.

Update: Come to think of it, why didn’t Elisha just call upon the Lord to give him more hair? That would have still shut the youths up, without anyone getting mauled.

          • sammid

“why didn’t Elisha just call upon the Lord to give him more hair?”

LOL love that! Good question. I’d like to know the answer to that too.

I believe you have every right to your opinion and feelings, and to express those as you see fit. I would not attack you for speaking what you believe. I appreciate that you have shown me that same respect.

AllisC, I haven’t always been a Christian. I was in my mid 30s when I met Jesus. Over the course of my life I was a miserable, vile human being. I’ve done things that nobody knows but God. But my life completely changed for the better and I found peace and love in Jesus. I am content. God didn’t change my circumstances but He did change my nature. I am very wary of being deceived, so my conversion was not easy. I had to know that He was real. And I know.

We each have a place where we know when something is right/wrong, true/false, good/bad. I don’t know if it’s the heart or the brain, but my “knower” knows God is real. I won’t even pretend to have all the answers. I still have questions when I read the bible. I don’t know why God did some of the things He did. But you seem to be familiar with scriptures. Do you think God is just a bad guy or raging loon or do you believe He exists? I’m curious.
            Sammi

          • AllisC

:-) he didn’t pray for hair because the story never happened!!

I guess if you know that, that’s it!
I know the opposite that there are no gods, never were, including all of the gods of ancient Greece, Rome, Egypt and all the rest ( hundreds). For the life of me cannot understand how/why anyone would read such a vile inane book cobbled together in the second century from ancient myths mostly stolen from other religions. You would be better off reading a good book on philosophy.
They say….study one religion and you will be converted, study two and you will be free (aka atheist). My feeling about your god is the same as your feeling about all of the other gods. I just don’t make an exception.

I know who changed your nature. YOU did. Do you think for a moment that with 7,000,000,000 people on earth that it makes sense to think that a god is looking after YOU? How many people died yesterday and the day before ….kids …old…parents…teens…..all dead ..some with very short lives…thats just the way it is.

Yeah, those thoughts are as foreign to me as bible scripture is to you. I’ve read them before and I used to believe they were true. I can’t argue with you. We are all here for such a short time, and we have to find our way through the best we can.
I cannot tell you about anyone else’s experience except mine. I do not attend church. I don’t believe or trust most of the popular TV preachers, or even most of the preachers in my small town. My walk with God is my own. It’s personal. God made Himself known to me in a big way, and continues to do so. Yes, I’m saying the God of the universe knows me! He knows my name. He even knows how many hairs are on my head. He knew me when I was being formed in my mother’s womb. And if I were to die and find out that believing in God was a waste of time, what have I lost? I will have led my best life and died a woman with peace in her heart. What’s so wrong about that? I’m not out there flying planes into buildings or demanding that anyone believe “my way” or else.

I don’t try to make anyone believe in God. That was never my job. Each of us is free to go their own way. I’m not a moron or an idiot any more that you are. I am confident in my beliefs, just as you are in yours.

But Allisc, what if you’re wrong?

  • Karl

Islam is a lie. Muhammad is a pedophile. Qur’an is poison.

    • AllisC

Nice way proving Islam is not a lie, wiseass…

  • AllisC

I see little difference between Islam snd Xianity. Both based on a book of myths that include slavery, ethnic cleansing, murder, infantcide, pedophilia, torture …..you name it. The worlds problem IS RELIGION of all kinds.

    • liz

While it’s true that all religions are based on myths, and there are similarly barbaric commands in the Koran and the Bible, the major difference is that while the Bible contains them, the Koran MAJORS in them.
Also, Muslims are the only religious believers who are still backwards and barbaric enough to actually follow them literally.
No need to bash Christians when they aren’t the ones beheading, dismembering, and blowing people up in the name of religion.

      • AllisC

So you are saying that the way to be a good Xian or a good Muslim is to NOT follow your holy book! Who is the bigger hypocrite, the muslim who follows his holy book or the Xian who cherry picks the bits of the bible to follow and discards the rest?
The answer of course is the Xian is the hypocrite BUT they are both nut cases. What kind of simple mind follows half the bible, wtf do they need a god for…to placate their simple mind?
Is is hilarious how you phrase the bible as ‘contains them’ vs ‘ MAJORS’ inthem…what is the difference to a believer? It’s lik esaying ‘yea but your book of myths is worse than ours ‘ and ‘besides, we dont follow our book of myths anyway’. We just say we are Xian because we are simple minded brainwashed sheep and we are deathly afraid to join the real world of reality.

There’s a big difference between a hypocrite and a nutcase. Muslims are true nutcases, and atheists and Christians have a common enemy in them.
It’s really counterproductive to bicker over who’s the bigger hypocrite with an ally when your enemy is busy plotting your destruction.

what would be your strategy/actions at home and with muslim and other countries?

That’s a long list, but for starters, deport, defund, stop all immigration of Muslims, raze the mosques, stop taking Saudi money, criminalize CAIR and and similar fronts for the Muslim Brotherhood, execute all terrorists.

‘A’isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported that Allah’s Apostle (may peace be upon him) married her when she was seven years old, and she was taken to his house AS A BRIDE WHEN SHE WAS NINE, AND HER DOLLS WERE WITH HER; and when he (the Holy Prophet) died she was eighteen years old.
