I need to correct your ignorant statements. #1. federal employees make a salary equal to most private workers. #2.fedearl employees do pay into Social Security and Medicare. #3 They get fired all the time. #4. Their retirement is based on their high three years of salary (not counting over time) and time in service. FYI: All federal employees contribute a percentage of their pay into the retirement system. #4. How many private workers have been susepnded for playing games on their computers?

I also go to a VA Hospital and think it's doing fine, mine anyway. This was a leadership problem and its the leaders that should take the hit. The President is the Commander in Chief and it was his responsibility to make sure the VA was running well; he didn't. Don't let this failure of leadership at the highest levels end one of the few things the 'Government' is involved in that actually works. Fire a bunch of people who were acting like communist apparacheki instead of working for the veterans.

I'm glad to hear you were treated well and survived. It sounds like you were well treated. The problem is that there are too many places where that isn't happening, and it appears to be getting worse. There are other ways to take care of vets without this monstrosity called the VA. If we took a percentage of the money spent on health care for vets and just gave them coverage to go to local doctors, hospitals, etc, we would give vets better care and save tons of money in the process. we could eliminate billions spent on inefficiency, but more importantly, give all vets equal access to good care.

Since wounded vets have injuries unlike the general population, we could have the government create special units at local hospitals to address those issues, and if special care was required, certain top-flight hospitals could be designated for special needs. We should also hire vets to as many positions as possible in the area of care for vets. There is a better way, but it isn't through more government.

Don't forget the money wasted on bonuses. Public servants or federal employees already make more money than privately employed workers; they don't pay into social security, they never get fired, they get great healthcare for life, and their pensions are based on their salaries which are usually based on their overtime pay. How many government employees have been suspended, but never fired for spending their working hours watching porn or playing games on their taxpayer funded computers?

Veterans Today is a fraud site run by Gordon Duff on a Muslim payroll. The site portends to be about Veterans but is obsessed about Israel.

Duff is an often guest on presstv.ir. Such are some of the traitorous scum in America and the West.

I think this is a regional problem. The Oregon Dept. of Veteran's Affairs has saved my life on occasion, helped me with housing and medical needs and many other things. They have been wonderful. When I needed a colonoscopy last year I had it done within a couple of weeks. I haven't had to pay anything out of pocket for any of their care here.
I can't speak for Vets in other parts of the country, but here in Southern Oregon the VA has been great. I hate to see them take the fall for other regional center's failings. Let's not make this an Obama thing either, not saying you did Daniel. But many of these policies and staff personal have been in place for years, even before Bush.
I hope that more Vets from Oregon will speak up on this issue, I owe my life to the VA here, I don't know where I would have been without them.
