I will never, ever understand how these women do not think they are actually killing another human being. My daughter is pregnant with her first child and through the sonogram she had yesterday and at seven weeks or so pregnant, we can already see the beginnings of arms, legs and even the heart beating.
As far as that POS that kicked the kitty, I hope he does jail time and that his cellmate is a big, mean, ugly, cat-loving Bubba.

While decent people abhor cruelty to animals, by saying that these videos are equally disgusting implies that we have no more duty to protect a baby human being, indeed one's own child, from death, than to protect an animal from being kicked.
The current culture of sentimentality (like another commenter, I have found Theodore Dalrymple's book on the subject very enlightening) is one in which individuals' transitory impulses of outrage, selfishness or sentimentality supplant a consistent moral outlook. So a video of a person kicking a cat is terrible because it touches poignantly on the viewer's fondness for cats. For the narcissistic pregnant woman featured above, bearing the long-term consequences of her actions is not even considered. She claims to be 'not ready for children' so she blithely decides to extinguish those consequences, which in this case means violently extinguishing the life of her own unborn baby. Because this act is described abstractly as 'abortion' and framed as a happy expression of the contemporary virtues of convenience and personal 'empowerment' against the tyranny of responsibility for the consequences of one's actions, it attracted less objections than did the cat-kicking video.
Alternatively, imagine a video of a person laughing while kicking a premature baby. What would the reaction be? What is actually being described in the video is the forcible dismemberment and vaccuum extraction of a living human being. A society that had a functioning moral compass would have no problem identifying the abortion video as far more problematic and objectionable than the one of some lout kicking a cat. (This does not in any way excuse the lout, of course).
The problem here is one of the philosophical foundations of society. As stated in the article, this has changed over a mere generation or two. This is not simply a trivial, academic distinction; it has real consequences. What will society look like in coming generations? Our society is the product of our personal decisions and moral outlook. We each have a responsibility to consider what core values should matter in society, to look with clear eyes and firm moral values at the problems we are facing today, and to hold others to a similar standard.

PS Whether the cat kicker and abortive mother are black or white is utterly irrelevant and the obsession with race evidenced by some other comments here again shows where the US society in particular has its priorities wrong.

The tragedy of abortion, more often than not, begins AFTER the abortion procedure, so a film of an abortion is not a depiction of "a positive abortion story." The abortion is only the beginning of the story.

As for the guy kicking the cat, of course I couldn't help noticing that the kitten-kicker is a black, kicking a kitten he petted first, so he could lull it into a false sense of security before abusing it. Just another instance (like the three black guys it took to beat up one pregnant woman) of the falsity of the common black male reliance on physically intimidating whites with demonstrations of phony black male anger.

I think they are both equally sick and disgusting.

One is a young puke who thinks it's funny to wantonly hurt a small animal (For the record, I love cats), and both records and posts the act for some cheap laughs.

The other is an equally sick narcissistic attention whore who loudly announces, and posts a video of her undergoing a procedure that no one should be proud of.

I wish the worst for both of them.

I saw that video of the abortion chick and it was sickening. She struck me as a narcissist who has only one agenda - the person she sees in the mirror. And then there was her bizarrely joyous comment towards the end of the video about how she can "make a baby." But, symptomatic of the throw away culture that she belongs to, it was all to easy to toss this baby away like a piece of garbage.
