Islam vs. Human Conscience — on The Glazov Gang

islamcb[Subscribe to The Glazov Gang and LIKE it on Facebook.]

This week’s Glazov Gang was joined by Dr. Mark Durie, a theologian, human rights activist, pastor of an Anglican church, and an Associate Fellow at the Middle East Forum.

Dr. Durie discussed Islam vs. Human Conscience, analyzing how Islam wages war on humans moral judgment and intuition (starting at 5:30 mark). The discussion occurred within the context of Boko Haram’s kidnapping of 276 schoolgirls in Nigeria and the Islamic roots of that barbaric act. Dr. Durie shed light on the Islamic theology that inspires and sanctions Muslims to enslave and rape kafir women.

Our guest also focused on Islam-Denial in our culture, the subjects of abrogation and taqiyya, the forces that brought him into this battle, and much, much more.

Don’t miss it:

Don’t miss Frontpage’s second episode this week with Phyllis Chesler, an Emerita Professor of Psychology and Women’s Studies at City University of New York, best-selling author, legendary feminist leader, Fellow at the Middle East Forum and the author of 15 books. She is the author of her new memoir, An American Bride in Kabul.

Dr. Chesler joined the program to discuss her memoir and all of its ingredients, including being trapped in Afghanistan as a young bride, her terrifying experiences under Islamic Gender Apartheid, her views on the burqa and on how the feminist Left has betrayed Muslim women, her main message, and much, much more:

“In contrast to the Atlantic slave trade where the male-female ratio was 2:1 or 3:1, the Arab slave trade usually had a higher female:male ratio instead, suggesting a general preference for female slaves. Concubinage and reproduction served as incentives for importing female slaves (often European), though many were also imported mainly for performing household tasks.”

Ehud R. Toledano (1998). Slavery and abolition in the Ottoman Middle East. University of Washington Press. pp. 13–4.

  • Mark Durie

Jason is correct. Much of the slave trade was sourced by Muslim tribes through jihad. The trans-Atlantic slave trade and the the Islamic trade within Africa were complementary: enslaved men could be shipped to the Americas, while enslaved women and children were kept in Africa to extend family lineages through concubinage and reproduction.

    • Lanna

Very True, and this is one of the Causes Ayan Hirsi Ali is fight for too. The War and abuse of women, particularly by Islam.

    • Myrtle

This barbarian action is supported by the acting president of the USA and backed by the millions of people here supporting him, especially all those he has appointee to different posts. Because of this we are all one in evil against GOD. Those of us who stand for HIM must be diligent and watch for the actions of GOD against our country. I is scary but WE MUST KEEP OUR “FAITH.”

    • Nightowl

What are your recommendations for reading more about this subject? I’d like to know more, but I’m not really sure what’s reliable. Thanks.

    • Lanna

Yes, Blacks sold their own people…it wasn’t the whites in Africa…blacks are the ones who brought the slaves to America. Islam and slavery go together, bondage and oppression.

  • ratonis

What is really weird is how American blacks convert to Islam and then adopt some sort of Arabic name, thinking they are giving voice or witness against the practice of slavery! How dumb can you get?

    • Excalibur

It’s called indoctrination, in this case, Dawah. Muslims only tell American blacks what they want to hear.

    • Tradecraft46

      You have no idea….

Being a Peace Corps Volunteer in Liberia, West Africa over 40 years ago does quality me to speak knowingly about Nigeria. But I still have a fair idea of 3rd World life in that area of the continent.

I can say that finding these girls and ridding the planet of their captors is a job for Nigeria, neighboring countries and the UN, not the US.

There is sadly too much national and regional statutory failure for self-determination to emerge in a stable manner for the foreseeable future.

Call in Darwinism, but we know from our own experiences in the Middle-East that constitutional republics only work when the people reach a point where they want it more than they want their status quo.

    • Father Dacius

If only they would listen to us old timers who were in these places and watched people destroy themselves in spite of any kindness or human logic. I don’t know or hope to understand anymore what dynamic is involved in being capable of embracing enlightenment. Surly someone wiser than me could solve this problem. But I, myself, have watched men I had taught, and believed to be essentially good, do the most inhumane things for causes they didn’t really believe in. Finally I concluded they could not be taught, I gave up.

Yes, the notion that Westerners (from Europe) has a duty to save the worlds masses is still strong in the minds of the Western Elite.

In a world of declining Western influence (both in population, in economics, and in capacity to influence the rest of the world), Western nations are still scheming as they did 150 years ago, when they were the only serious kids on the block.

The notion of saving the world is a curious and uniquely Western idea (these days the Westerns Left is scheming on saving the world from CO2).

Only Westerners are interested in cultures other than their own.

Only Westerners have the missionary’s consignment.

Only Westerners believe they have to save Syrians, Ukrainians, Nigerians, and god-knows-whoever else Westerners thinks should be saved (China and India, or Brazil, has not exactly stepped up to the plate, have they?).

This is a world where those being saved will almost surely (if not them, then their posterity) turn against the West.

Methinks that Nigerian fathers (and Nigeria — the largest and most powerful state in Africa) should rescue their children (and face the responsibility for doing so). This attitude of Westerners being self-appointed guardians over the worlds peoples is not only self-defeating in the long run, it is also counterproductive.

Just heard on the news that obama this week posed while holding up a sign saying “bring back our girls,” regarding the kidnapping of these Nigerian girls. Umm obama I hope you’re reading this: posing and holding up signs with hopeful messages written on them is what leftards do at Occupy Wall Street. As the most powerful man in the world you should get together with some four star generals and plan how to get these girls back you F*CKING MORON.

    • aemoreira81

Impossible to do so…as Nigeria waited almost 3 weeks to request help. Obama did all he could; Goodluck Jonathan is the failure here.

      • BS77

Doing nothing seems to be the main strategy of the West these days….terrorist massacre….zzzzzz……130 000 killed in Syria….zzzzzzz hundreds of Christian girls kidnapped in Nigeria….yamn, snore, zzzzzzz…….thousands killed in Iraq….zzzzzzz…….American ambassador and three others murdered in Libya….ah, what the heck…..whaddyagoindo????
        Iran building nuclear weapons…..crickets, baby

  • Elizabeth Cape Cod

It’s truly stunning to me what cowardly, stupid lemmings liberals are. Just recently, higher education was banning Ayaan Hirsi Ali’s film about sharia, and now we have the elites condemning sharia with the kidnapping of little girls. Maybe the cowardly will now approve the showing of Ali’s film since it has become politically correct to do so. I’m disgusted.

it’s just black on black criime. It doesn’t matter to progressives.

Riyadh is the capital of Saudi not Mecca. That would be the obvious target

Mecca is the heart of Islamofascism.

I would have no problem in turning Riyadh to glass but Mecca would make a better target for me because it is the capital of Islam.

  • Crassus

The problem here is that Barky Hussein Obummer and Jean Kerry both think that the Boko Haram is an early 70’s rock group. They’re waiting for them to put out a video of “Whiter Shade of Pale.”

    • American Patriot

I thought Boko Haram is a person.

    • Douglas J. Bender

“Whiter Shade of Pale” is obviously a racist song. Barack Hussein Obama is going to get Eric Holder on the case pronto.

  • James Foard

    Excellent. Thanks Jamie.
Well, well, so Hillary and Michelle O finally discover terrorism.
How chic. This should make for great cocktail talk among the liberals.
“I’m shocked, shocked to find that gambling is going on in here!”
This is so hypocritically timed, right at the beginning of the
Benghazi special council investigation. Diversion tactics from the Dems.
These types of terrorist attacks have been going on for years all over the
middle east and Africa while the Obama administration has turned a blind eye
    to them.
Now suddenly Hashtag Hillary tweets to the rescue, a couple of years
too late after her tenure as Secretary of State when she refused to designate
Boko Haram as a terrorist group while they were slaughtering hundreds
of people in Nigeria. Now, when it is politically expedient, the
administration is suddenly up in arms.
Oh and as far as the “desire not to elevate the group’s profile.” argument for not designating Boko Haram as a terrorist group, well we have seen the fine results of that, haven’t we? Two hundred schoolgirls kidnapped and raped, another attack on the 5th of May in Nigeria that killed hundreds in a marketplace, whole villages wiped out by Boko Haram.
Yes, Clinton’s strategy has worked out perfectly . . . for the terroriists.

  • antioli

Oh come on. H Clinton said the B H was not a terrorist group. If you can’t believe Hillary who can you believe.
When she said there were no terrorists in Libya could any one doubt her?
She just can’t be wrong. Just ask Chris Mathews .

  • Toby Vanilla

Brilliant reasoning by Mark, gosh I would like to have a transcript, at the same time, Jamie was brilliant as well.

    • jamieglazov11

      Thank you Toby Vanilla!!

  • wildjew

Jamie Glazov at approx. 3 minutes said the following: “When I say things like this and you say things like this (i.e., these jihadists are motivated and inspired by Islamic theology) right away we get this, ‘Oh but there’s a very nice family that lives down the street from me. They’re Muslim, they are very nice people….”

Sadly, even on the political right we hear it. The other day I transcribed a portion of an interview Robert Spencer did with conservative radio talk show host Laura Ingraham soon after the Boston Marathon bombings. It went like this:

Ingraham: “Well a friend of mine who uhm who I know from Nigeria I was talking to this morning and he said, he just shook his head and he said, ‘Laura I know what people are going to think about me and my faith but that — I mean I have known him for I don’t know, 18 years, he said — this is not who I am; this is not what my family believes; this is not what we are about’. And so, have to be very careful about demonizing an entire religion, an entire group of people, many of whom do not buy into this, many of whom do not want this, many of whom were in fear of this being another radicalized Muslim on American soil…”

    • Atikva

If so many muslims were really appalled by the abominations committed for the past fifty years or so by their muslim “brothers”, they would have made themselves heard a long time ago. Their silence is deafening.

There is no “moderate” muslims vs. islamists; the latter are terrorists, the former just wait and see who is going to prevail. If it’s their muslim “brothers”, they will rejoice and offer their services to rule the conquered West. If is the West, they will pretend they were always against the islamists and help us hound them.

The rest, the so-called “fear to be demonized”, the denials, the endless complaints, is just takya.

      • wildjew

Not only do you believe there is no moderate Islam, you do not think there are moderate Muslims. All (?) or most or the vast majority are waiting to see who is prevailing, Islam or the west. Mr. Glazov and others focus on the political left. I worry more about my side, the right. Why do you think self-declared conservatives say things like we can’t demonize an entire religion or paint with a broad brush or demonize all Muslims, etc.?

        • liz

And then you have the Christians who idiotically enter into “interfaith” partnerships with them.

          • Martin Grimes

Not all Christians. I constantly inform myself and others of the Christians being persecuted by Muslims in so many countries in Asia and the middle east.
Also if God has sent his son to us why would he send another prophet 600yrs later to tell us that God has no son!
Islam is a lie and Mohamed was a lying false prophet.
Christ is truth personified (Christ is The truth) and Chrislam is a sickening concept that will fall apart when persecution hits home.

          • liz

I did not mean to imply “all” Christians do this.
I have just heard of a few instances where this is the case.

          • Martin Grimes

No offence taken liz, but you are right there are some that profess to be Christians and try to invent a new religion based on the amalgamation of Christianity and Islam. In order to do that Christians have to bend and weave around certain verses in the Bible, however the Muslims do not.

          • Atikva

Not all Christians, not by a long shot! Ever heard of the “Brave German Woman”? Here is the video

          • liz

Yes, I saw this. I was not implying that all Christians do this, only some.

        • Atikva

Declaring to be and being do not necessarily coincide.
When someone declares he is fighting for the conservation of our judeo-christian
values currently under attack by the islamo-socialists, but refuses to acknowledge
the scope, the goal and the origin of such an attack, he simply demonstrates his
useless good will, his gullibility or his cowardice. As the saying goes, the
inferno is paved with good intentions. These sermonizing people just don’t get
it and probably won’t until too late, when the bomb falls on their kitchen table.

  • Walter Sieruk

The Muslim man in the above picture with his child wife. This is explained in theBible. For there are some men who are so terrible and evil that they, as the Bible teaches have “their conscience seared with a hot iron.” First Timothy 4:2. The “hot iron” in this case is Islam. As the the founder and prophet of Islam, Muhammad,it’s not so much the question “Was Muhammad a prophet?” It’s better stated “Was Muhammad a prophet sent by God or was Muhammad a false prophet sent by Satan to lead many people astray?” After all Jesus did warn “Beware of false prophet which comes to you in sheep’s clothing but are inwardly ravening wolves.” Matthew 7:15. The Bible further warns that “many false prophets are gone forth into the world.” First John 4:1. To give the acid test if a prophet, teacher, or religion is teaching truth of falsehoods is if the prophet, teacher or religion has teaching and doctrines that are in according to God’s Word, the Bible. That if a person or religion has teachings and doctrines that are in contradiction to God’s Word then that prophet, teacher or religion is false. As Isaiah 8:20; explains “To the law of the testimony: If they speak not according to the word , it is because there is no light in them.” [KJV] Islam denies that Jesus is the Son of God. This is in contrast to the Bible which teaches that Jesus is indeed the Son of God, John 3:16, 17, and 36. First John 2:22, 23. Likewise. Islam denies that Jesus is God the Son. In contrast to Islam the Bible teaches that Jesus is God the Son. As seen in Hebrews 1:6-8 with emphasis on verse 8. Furthermore, Islam denies that Jesus is God. This is in strong contradiction to the Bible which teaches that Jesus is God. As shown, for example, in John 1:1-3. Romans 9:5. Colossians 1:15-17. First John 5:20. Second Peter 1; 1. Titus 2:13. Moreover, by comparing the Old Testament with the New Testament will further show that Jesus is God, As in by comparing Isaiah 45:22,23. With Philippians 2:5-11. Will show Jesus is God. Also by comparing Psalm 89:8,9. With Matthew 8:23-27 will further confirm Jesus to be God. Even by comparing the New Testament book together will confirm Jesus to be God. As in John 5:22 with Romans 14:12 will show Jesus to be God. The list can go on but this should be enough. The imams and mullahs will try to “explain” this all away by claiming that Christians had corrupted the Bible through time. This claim greatly underestimates the power of God to preserve His Word in time and keep it intact and away from the corruption of men. In conclusion, Muhammad was a false prophet and Islam is a false religion, Proverbs 14:12. John 14:6.

I can’t even imagine the horror she feels at being touched by that filthy sonofabitch from Hell. Look at how dirty his hands and clothes are. He’s worse than any animal.

  • Southern__Hoosier

There is no such thing as a good Muslim. Only those that keep the teaching of Mohammed according to the Koran and those that don’t.

  • mhojai

One thing I’ve heard little about, is that soetero was educated as a muslim in Indonesia with him claiming to be muslim on school records. When muslims are enjoined to kill apostates, why is it he hasn’t had a fatwa against him as such, since he now claims to be a “Christian” -in between golfing and napping?

    • Atikva

The tactic of lies and deceit (takya) to subjugate non-muslims is recommended by the coran and in such a case, there is no apostasy.

Which doesn’t mean that many muslims would not enjoy tremendously subjecting him to the same treatment they reserved to H.E. Chris Stevens.

      • mhojai

While I’m familiar with their tactic of taqiyya, how do “they” know? What makes him different from any other muslim who now claims to be Christian and gets tortured and beheaded?
        With ALL Blessings

Americans are standing up to Islam…we are not going to convert and live under Sharia Law…never! Nonie Darwish has a lot of good advice to give Free thinking people!

  • USARetired

Islam is a ‘Fascist Ideology’, not a religion, and is the scorge of the Earth since its inception! No Nation can accept Muslims into their countries if they have a Free Democracy, as they cannot coexist in the same country!
All Muslims must find their own little sanctuary ‘hole’ to crawl into and remain there!
