I thought Nick would talk about natural rights,
life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

This I think is uniquely American, and does not follow
from any known religion. Not as I understand them anyhow.

Plus it’s July 4 , the anniversary of the American innovation,
and source of the supposed exceptionism.

At least this is what Lincoln thought and based his ideas on.

And btw, the American idea of the pursuit of happiness is why I think
envy had been until recent times been largely nullified.

The rise of the leftist, the democrat politics of envy has
    reversed this, sadly.

It took me a long time to grasp the basics of American exceptionalism, part of which is absence of envy. Over here in Germany, envy is ubiquitous.

For the first time in living memory, it is here now too.

I’m just curious. Is the German word for ubiquitous some really long word with seven syllables?

        • Barbarossa Rotbart

No, it’s a word with five syllables “allgegenwaertig”

Somehow, because this is ‘America’, we will always “turn things around”!
Yea!!! Way to go Nick Adams (& Jamie)!! What that’s saying is that it’s “OK”
to go down (again) the road already travelled. That kind of “thinking” is not
only dangerous and stupid, but FOOLISH!!!!!
