I was on the balcony from where this frame was shot, the killing was going on all night, from late p.m the night before, the Mongolian speaking troops, especially brought in, (cannot speak Beijing dialect) moved in and the killing was none stop, shooting all night. By early morning, they were removing the dead bodies, it was all over, these kids had no chance...the survivors, bystanders, were absolutely shell shocked. messing with this regime is very pricey!

The story of Qin really made this article exceptional. Well done.

Also, let's not forget that Yahoo helped the Chinese secret police to track down at least one dissident, who was arrested and jailed. Internet darling google also was so desirous of penetrating the Chinese market (for profit, of course) that they co-operated with the dictatorship in censoring search results. E.g., there was the famous case where Chinese searching for "Tianamen Square" were given only results showing peaceful pictures of flowerboxes in the square and articles about the past history of the square - while completely ignoring the protests.

After two years or so of trying, google wasn't making any headway in China and so only then did google announce that they were pulling out of China because they supposedly objected to censorship there. The press treated google's lying claim as if it were true, of course.

google always lies.

Oh come on! I'm sure Michelle laid a wreath at Tiananmen Square honoring those students who died for Lady Liberty and her ideals.

I'd really like to meet this girl that always says "yes."

Funny how they're the Capitalist Pigs and we're the Commies now. Michelle is now proud of her country and China's.

Seriously, something is happening in Taiwan. Facebook friend has been posting anti-Taiwan protests by students who want to rejoin China. While Russia is encouraging referendums, China will do the same and when those "ethic Chinese" are threatened, they will invade Taiwan and take it back by force and Obama will let them by doing nothing regardless of any treaty... therefore Michelle's trip to give them the okay.

The Chinese politboro pretty much has a tiger by the tail here. They are trying to run what is essentially a Japanese-style economy, but using a jury-rigged Soviet-style governance to control it.

China has several problems facing it: An artificially propped up economy, a demographics crisis of having a surplus of men and people chomping at the bit after tasting freedom.

The only thing China can do at this point, is to try and project an illusion of strength, but that will not stop it from collapsing from the inside-out like the Soviet Union.
