Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, Evangelist

Khalid_Shaikh_Mohammed_after_captureThe mastermind behind the September 11 attacks might have a bone to pick with Secretary of State John Kerry. After meeting with his counterpart in the Vatican last week, Kerry reported that the United States and Holy See have a “common interest in dealing with this issue of poverty, which in many cases is the root cause of terrorism.”

Back home, The Huffington Post published a 36-page “manifesto” which begs to differ. In October 2013, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed typed it on a Guantanamo Bay prison laptop. It’s purpose? To convert his captors — and us. “It is my religious duty in dealing with any non-Muslims,” he writes, “to invite them to embrace Islam.”

What follows is hardly an invitation, rather a shaming. KSM, as he is known in intelligence circles, is convinced that “under the power and authority of the secularist governments, the fire of atheism is spreading among the Western communities.” Where you find “democracy, freedom, money, and liberalism,” he writes, you’ll also discover “unbelievable numbers in divorce, suicides, mental illnesses, bankruptcies, in addition to a thousand other evils.”

Earlier in his epistle to the infidels, KSM attempts to dispel the notion that he and his jihadist friends fight non-Muslims with the aim “to turn them to Islam or that we are fighting you because you practice democracy, freedom, or claim that you uphold human rights.” But just a few pages later, KSM writes “any Democratic or Republican programs are doomed to fail to bring happiness and safety for humans.” He laments we “do not accept God’s laws,” and claims any other legislation is blasphemous because we think “maybe the creature is cleverer than the Creator.”

KSM then launches into an all-out theological war on Christianity and the Incarnation. Jesus is just another prophet who “never declared to us in the Bible that he is a God,” nor did he speak of the Trinity, which Muslims consider polytheism. “If Jesus is God,” KSM asks, “how can I believe that God was in a woman’s womb then delivered out of her flesh?” No God of his would allow himself to be killed, either. “How can God be stoned and crucified?” KSM probes.

KSM is baffled by the Incarnation because Islam has a God problem. Muslims go to great lengths to protect God’s transcendence, but end up not knowing him at all.

Among the 99 names Muslims give Allah are “lawgiver” and “Absolute Will.” This is how Muslims relate to Allah: submission to his will. But since Allah is so transcendent and majestic, his will is not bound by the human notion of reason. “Throw reason to the dogs,” a sign adorning the office of the Taliban religious police read, “it stinks of corruption.” If God is not reasonable, he can will anything — even terrorist attacks. Here, Secretary Kerry, is your “root cause” of terrorism. Not poverty, foreign occupation, Israeli settlements, or CIA blowback, but this defective theology is what led KSM and his brothers-in-arms to fly commercial jetliners into the World Trade Center towers.

KSM begins his missive with several quotes, one of them from Pope Benedict XVI’s infamous 2006 lecture at the University of Regensburg: “Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached.” Had KSM — or anyone else, for that matter — actually read the speech, he would have seen that these were not Benedict’s words, but those of a 14th century Byzantine emperor. The emperor was trying to convince an educated Muslim that faith and violence are incompatible because God is logos, the Greek word meaning reason. To act unreasonably would be against God’s nature.

The former pope used the emperor’s words to identify the chief theological misstep taken by jihadists where “God’s transcendence and otherness are so exalted that our reason, our sense of the true and good, are no longer an authentic mirror of God, whose deepest possibilities remain eternally unattainable and hidden behind his actual decisions.” Benedict takes jihadist theology head on: “God does not become more divine when we push him away from us,” he warns, “rather, the truly divine God is the God who has revealed himself as logos and, as logos, has acted and continues to act lovingly on our behalf.”

History tells of many captives who convert their captors. Most notable was Saint Paul, who was imprisoned for performing an exorcism. While behind bars and shackled to the floor, Paul prayed and sang hymns to God. Suddenly an earthquake shook the prison and cell doors swung open. Paul’s jailor rushed into Paul’s cell “trembling with fear” and asked, “what must I do to be saved?”

Let us pray Khalid Sheikh Mohammed has no such luck.

Khalid Sheikh Mohammed: “I don’t get no respect! No respect! The other day the guard brought me some food in my cell, and he said, “Hey Sheikh, we got you some special halel food from a mosque down the street. Your gonna be eatin’ like a sultan from now on’.
And I said to him, ‘Yeah, but my cell isn’t facing towards Mecca!’
    No respect, I tell ya!!

John Kerry says “… poverty (is the) the root cause of
    terrorism.”
Once again Mr Kerry you have it exactly backwards.
It is terrorism and Islam that that is the root cause of poverty.

The guiding light of Western Civilization is reason and it’s connection to reality, the scientific method.
But even reason was frustrated and mostly powerless until the men of the West had the wisdom to assign to reason the correct priority.
In matters of the real world, reason was assigned a higher priority than God and the Church and faith and theology, and so Western Civilization has been able to make progress in controlling the real world.

Islam is failing because it does just the opposite of Western Civilization, it assigns to Allah and the words of his prophet a higher priority than to reason and reality.
When reason is untethered from reality it becomes delusion.
And when reason and the evidence of your own eyes, reality, is given a lower priority, when it is denied in favor of faith in Allah and the words of his prophet, then that is delusion.
That is what Muslims preach, unreason, magic, mysticism, unreality,.delusion

Islam’s flawed view of reality, giving a lower priority to reason than to Allah, is at the very heart of Islam.
It’s not some mistake that was made along the way, that Muslims can go back and correct and then Islam will be back on the right track.
To correct Islam’s error in the way it sees reality, to correct it’s priorities, would be to remove the very heart of Islam, and Islam would be no more, and that is exactly what the world needs to do, make Islam be no more.

Don’t blame “Allah”, blame the aszhats who took up Mohammed’s blood-soaked gauntlet and began swarming out of the Arabian Peninsula like a bad smell. Modern Libya, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Iraq, Lebanon… these are not “Arab” countries. We only see them as “Arab” because of Islamist Imperialism, since about the year 700 AD. They weren’t Moslem, either, in fact most of the countries in the MidEast were Christian and/or Jewish.

Faith(Intimate Knowledge of God as Triune and Incarnation) has the First Place. The Second Place Finish of Reason, however, does not negate reason and its necessity. The two dovetail so as to give us a complete knowledge of Reality(The Universe & God Himself).
Why First Place to Faith? Because from God comes All Creation. Knowing God guides us to uncover all other truth, whether by Philosophic investigation or by the Modern Scientific Method(Empiricism).
Without Faith, progress is possible, but often goes astray to the detriment of Humanity. Materialism, Consumerism, Superficial appreciation of Life and its meaning, Low Birth Rate, and all the many other ills that afflict Man today, especially Western Society which, it must be noted, is living off the ‘fumes’ of its Judeo-Christian Heritage. The disconnect from God, the Creator and Lover of Mankind, is never the way to real Humanism. Such a Society is just another attempt to build a new ‘Tower of Babel’. Good Luck!
Just a Note: I do agree that to insert Reason into Islam is to negate the essence of Islam. Averroes, the 12th Century Philosopher-Theologian, himself a Muslim, apparently was highly criticized for using Reason, BTW Averroes justified his use of reason by quoting the Koran. Thanks.

There IS no higher authority than Yhwh God; and you will learn that eventually, probably to your great dismay when you do! And if you don’t believe Yhwh God is in control of the “real” world, you’re sadly mistaken! The only reason you’re right about Allah and Islam is that Allah is NOT Yhwh God; and therefore not in control in reality, for all it seems he has free reign in the world today. But the world, which ALSO follows the SAME deity as Islam, by different names, such as “science”, “secular humanism” and others of like nature, can’t and WON’T make Islam disappear, because their deity will not obliterate his most potent weapon in the world today; only Jesus and Yhwh can and will do that in the proper time!

Reason became scientific method over time, but is unable to replace the ethical standards that were taught using parables and myths. And most people have no grasp of the difference between scientific method and reason, which is why a lot of name-calling goes on in every political, ie , ethical, debate.

      Reason alone becomes communism. Always.

This book explains why Islam is voodoo.
“The Closing of the Muslim Mind: How Intellectual Suicide Created the Modern Islamist Crisis” by Robert R. Reilly

I had written my post above re Closing of the Muslim Mind before I saw that you had mentioned it as well.

      Yes. Absolutely. A great book.

Let’s not forget that it’s a book with a point of view that the W Bush Administration didn’t want to see, read or understand as well.

That’s why we had/have a “War on Terror” (a name that rang hollow for me) instead of a “War against Jihadism”.

  • ConcernedCitizen999

Excellent article Mr Hahn, although I doubt that it will penetrate the mind of John Kerry, since he and many of our political leaders only thing at the level of cliches and cartoon captions, if that.

    • sandraleesmith46

They don’t “think” at all; what they do is follow command prompts from their boss; which would be the SAME dude prompting Islam; just under different names.

This is good. KSM is showing the world that his motivation is Islam. Islam is central to his thinking and his hatred of the infidel. If he had wrote a book about the “plight of Palestinians” with no mention of Islam, that would be propaganda for the Chomskies of the world. But he is making Islam central to the purpose of his life and actions. He is proving us right. And that is good.

    • BS77

Why is KSM still taking in oxygen?

Indeed! Don’t get me started …

That question is best directed to Obama and Holder.

I wouldn’t expect an honest answer though.

GITMO does have the unique distinction of having one of the largest Hammerhead shark populations in the world, Gitmo bay just happens to be one of the largest breeding spots on the planet. Hey! Sharks gotta eat to ya know!?

Kerry is so bone-stupid he makes my teeth ache. “Poverty” is NOT the root cause of Islamic terrorism: “Islam” is. Most jihadis come from a middle-class background and have ALL unbelievers — rich and poor alike — in their crosshairs, you ignorant, moronic, UNTEACHABLE ignoramus.

    Right.. Poverty.

That’s why all the poor Roman Catholics from South America are suicide bombing the Protestants and secularists in the United States..

Can KSM explain why Islam bombs its own places of worship ?

  • Roy_Cam

The Closing of the Muslim Mind: How Intellectual Suicide Created the Modern Islamist Crisis by Reilly deals with the whole phenomenon.

    http://www.amazon.com/The-Closing-Muslim-Mind-Intellectual/dp/1610170024/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1390665511&sr=8-1&keywords=Closing+of+Muslim+Mind

Specifically, the difference in the view of God and Reason underlies the entire difference in the development of science, democracy and the rule of law in the West vs the attitude that Muslim rulers are free to be essentially without accountability.

The West kept its embrace of Aristotle and St Thomas Aquinas did the job or reconciling the positions.

Sir Isaac Newton is a great example of the application of Natural Law, theology, Christianity and science.

So, if you are interested in this core aspect of the differences between Islam and Christianity, do check out The Closing of the Muslim Mind.

Only six months after Pearl Harbor, the US Navy found and destroyed the Japanese Fleet in the Battle of Midway. Now, less than 100 years later, we can’t even deal with one psychopathic terrorist within a decade.

What happened to our once proud nation?

    • LaValette Conservative

We’ve dealt with thousands of terrorists in the past 13 years. What the article argues is the we haven’t dealt with the root cause of terrorism. The idée fixe of both parties is that the Political Science 101 cliché about poverty and oppression being the root of all evil explains Islamic Jihad. As long as we allow our ‘leaders’ to cling to the foolishness they learned at the institutions that credentialed them we are doomed to continue to pointlessly kill an endless horde of Islamists to no effect. We can not win the war of ideas by refusing to acknowledge the idea that lies at the root of the conflict between Dar al-Islam and Dar al-Harb.
