The Muslim Rape of Christian Nuns

unnamedDespite how unsavory and barbaric Islamic groups and persons around the world have been acting—whether Nigeria’s Boko Haram, Mesopotamia’s Islamic State, Somalia’s Shabaab—perhaps few things are as disgusting and cowardly as the Muslim rape of nuns: defenseless Christian women who sacrifice much of their lives to help sick and needy Muslims.

The latest such attack comes from Bangladesh, which is over 90% Muslim in population.  In early July, dozens of men armed with machetes, knives and iron rods attacked the convent of PIME (Pontifical Institute of Foreign Missions nuns in Boldipuku), a village mission in north Bangladesh.

In the words of Bishop Sebastian Tudu “the nuns were beaten and molested, ending when police arrived.”

Catholic Online has the complete story:

[S]ome 60 men attempted to loot the building and rape the nuns… The attackers first tied the hands and legs of the mission’s two night watchmen and gagged them in the early morning hours. They then broke down the door of the room where the assistant pastor Father Anselmo Marandy was sleeping. They then raided the convent located in the mission campus…. Three PIME nuns suffered attempted rape and were sent to their provincial house in Dhaka, the national capital where they are trying to overcome the shock and mental suffering.  “It’s very sad that the sisters cannot continue to work for the people, but our sisters are no longer safe,” Rosaline Costa, a Catholic human rights activist lamented.  Local Christians are currently living in fear since the attack. Christians form only 0.8 percent of Dinajpur district’s three million people.

Although some of those quoted in the Catholic Online report say that this attack is “unprecedented,” the fact is, raped nuns is a phenomenon that goes back centuries.   According to Muslim historian Taqi al-Din al-Maqrizi (1364-1442), during his raids on then Christian-majority Egypt, Caliph Marwan II (r.744–50) “made captive a number of women from among the nuns of several convents. And he tried to seduce one of them.”

The account describes how the enslaved nun tricked him into killing her, by claiming she had a magic oil that make skin impenetrable: “She then took some oil and anointed herself with it; then stretched out her neck, which he smote with the sword, and made her head fly.  He then understood that she preferred death to defilement.”

Writing in the 10th century, the Coptic chronicler Severus ibn Muqaffa records that “the Arabs [i.e., Muslims] in the land of Egypt had ruined the country….  They burnt the fortresses and pillaged the provinces, and killed a multitude of the saintly monks who were in them [monasteries] and they violated a multitude of the virgin nuns and killed some of them with the sword.”

After the Islamic conquest of Constantinople in 1453, according to eyewitness accounts, “Monasteries and Convents were broken in. Their tenants were killed, nuns were raped, many, to avoid dishonor, killed themselves. Killing, raping, looting, burning, enslaving, went on and on according to tradition.”

Such is history—expunged as it is in the modern West—even as it repeats itself today. Thus, in August 2013, after torching a Franciscan school in Egypt, “Islamists,” in the words of the AP, “paraded three nuns on the streets like ‘prisoners of war’” and “Two other women working at the school were sexually harassed and abused as they fought their way through a mob.”

Indeed, the rise in attacks on Christian nuns throughout the Islamic world further demonstrates that they are no more inviolable than other “infidel” women:

•Somalia: In response to Pope Benedict’s historical quotes which, like so many other things so enraged the Islamic world, Muslims in Somalia shot Leonella Sgarbati—a 66-year-old nun who had devoted 30 years of her life working in Africa—in her back.  Her last words before dying in hospital were: “I forgive; I forgive.”

•Pakistan: In September 2012, gunmen on motorbikes dressed in green (Islam’s color) opened fire on the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Cathedral in Hyderabad, murdering at least 28 people.  Their immediate target was a nun, Mother Christina.

•Libya: In February 2013, after the fall of Col. Gaddafi, Islamic rebels threatened nuns into fleeing the nation. They had been there since 1921, focused primarily on helping the sick and needy.

•Palestinian Authority: Last year, nuns of the Greek-Orthodox monastery in Bethany sent a letter to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas urging him to respond to the escalation of attacks on the Christian house, including the throwing of stones, broken glass, theft and looting of the monastery property.

•Philippines: In an article discussing a Christmas Day church bombing in a Muslim-majority region, we learn that the jihadi group responsible “has been blamed for several bomb attacks on the Roman Catholic cathedral in Jolo since the early 2000s and for kidnapping priests and nuns.”

•Guinea: In June 2013, during a mob-led frenzy, Christians and their churches were savagely attacked in the Muslim-majority nation—with some 95 Christians slain and 130 wounded—including “the quarters of the nuns, [which] was looted before being torched.”

•Syria: Islamic rebels forcibly abducted 13 Christian nuns and three maids, holding them captive for three months.  They were finally released after the Bashar government agreed to release some 150 female criminals in exchange.

The above examples come from several countries that have little in common with one another—neither race, language, culture, nor economics—only Islam.

That alone should say something.

But no matter.  Far from discussing Islamic history and doctrine, and how they tie to current events—especially the subhuman treatment of non-Muslim “infidels”—the predominant Western mentality simply dismisses Muslim violence as the West’s fault, or, in the words of ex-nun Karen Armstrong and Islamic apologist extraordinaire, “We did this.” Armstrong—who quit the nunnery only to engage in pro-Islamic mummery—insists that what’s needed is for us to focus more on “Muslim pain, Muslim suffering.”

Such, according to the leftist mentality, are the “real” reasons why, wherever Muslim-majorities live near non-Muslim minorities, from the dawn of Islam till today, the latter are being attacked into extinction.

So sad, but so much true. And so many people continue to affirm that islam is a religion of peace, love, tolerance , and the murderers are a minority that hijacked Islam..It has taken over Europe and it is in the process of taking the US. There is nowhere in the news thet we can be made aware of what the followers of the evil, satanic prophet are doing to non muslims. Where is God in all of this? Sleeping at the helm?

    • RevnantDream

Maybe Islam is our Judgment for killing 50 million American babies plus 5 million Canadian ones. Just as God use Babylon against Judea for the same reasons.Assyria against Israel for the child killing. Sacrificing their children to idols as we do , though ours are more nebulous. The results are the same as are the reasons. More prosperity, self fulfillment, gain.

      • Fed Up

Maybe, but if we’re exploring biblical angles I’d say it’s got a lot more to do with Isaac and Ishmael.

        • AnneM040359

Got to remember that Ishmael was not a legit born son to begin with, Isaac was, meaning that Abraham and Sarah did not at first trust in the promise of God. So I am not surprised that Ishmael turned out to be a wild man. He even it was sais treated Isaac very badly, that is why both him and his mother Hagar were sent away.

          • Fed Up

Yes, indeed. I’m not surprised he did either because God said he would. :)

I believe that the majority of muslims are peaceful people, and it is a minority that is actively promulgating hate and terror. But I believe that the religion, Islam, if taken seriously, is inherently one of violence. What makes me uneasy is the failure of muslim leaders to denounce the terrorists.

      • moneekwa

it is wise to recall that even “peaceful” or “nice muslim family next door” muslims, the ones who would never behead or bomb, STILL in their hearts believe it is ok to beat your wife, uncovered women are whores, their daughters should get FGMed, and killed to preserve family honor if they become too “western”, women are worth half a man, rape is always the woman’s fault, gays all must die (some variance in opinion of the best way to do it, no disagreement that gay is a capital offense), etc.

were i you, i would not trust any mobot, even if they seem peaceful. they are supposed to lie to us to promote islam. when the signal is given. many of those will turn violent instantly. the ones that don’t will still all agree us infidels had it coming.

  • Soxtory

I just read that 24% of the verses in the Koran urge the killing of non-muslims. So much for being a religion of peace!

    • Fed Up

Hmmm, only 24%? Thank God for small favors.

  • http://www.facebook.com/peter.boddie Peter Boddie

I avoid the confusion of what to call ISIS: militants, terrorists, radicals, etc.

I just call then Islamic Traditionalists.

  • johnnywood

The only reason for the violence committed by islamists is that their religion commands it. Murder, rape, looting, and enslavement=Islam, a.k.a. the “religion of peace”. If the facts offend you go suck an egg.

  • awfulorv

Once again we are reminded of the fallacy of never, saying never.
I was once of the, staunch, opinion that burning books was something only the lowest person would do.
But, reading of how the Koran affects it’s readers, turns them into psychopaths even, I shall have to relax my own rule and say, MOST BOOKS should not be turned to ashes.

    • moneekwa

the koran is like a ouija board. it is a gateway for demonic evil to enter the physical world. you never should ever burn a ouija board because that destroys the door with the evil demons trapped on this side of it. i would treat the koran the same way, and for the exact same reason.

  • nobullhere

Those nuns have to get out. Muslims are savages who don’t deserve any help and shouldn’t get any help from infidels. When they’re in difficulties, leave them to stew in their own juice.

  • uleaveuswithnoalternative

Can someone please tell my why, in the face of all evidence, the Catholic church continues to side with Islam and Hamas?
On his visit to Israel, Pope Francis snubbed Israel, insulted PM Netanyahu and demanded justice for the Arabs who call themselves “Palestinians” (the same Arabs who persecute Christians).
Pope John Paul 2nd met with Yasser Arafat over 11 times and called him a man of peace. He also kissed the Quran and in one of his encyclicals, Pope JP 2nd calls Muslims, “our brothers and sisters who worship the same God.”
Why is the Catholic church (and all mainstream Protestant churches) silent on the persecution Jews throughout Europe and the persecution of Christians in Muslim countries?
Where’s the outrage from the churches?

    • laura r

they get federal funding thats why.

    • chelmer

The Catholic Church can’t really say very much about Islamic violence against Christians without creating further problems for Christians. Jews, on the other hand, don’t rape nuns.

  • laura r

whise pain do they mean? the abused muslims? the women who want to leave? or the killers? be clear who ever wrote the comment im too lazy to find.

    • IslamDownpressesHumanity

Ah yes, let’s all cry for the poor “abused” muslims. I’m sorry, but I was all out of sympathy for moslems the last time they mass murdered Christians and/or enslaved non-moslems. If you want to cry for the poor, persecuted moslems why don’t you go over the Iraq, Iran, Syria, Saudi Barbaria, Somalia, Yemen, Libya, Pakistain and cry on their shoulder there? Just don’t lose your head over it.

  • Tribe13

peaceful radical jihadists terrorists, not harming anyone, as they rape nuns. outraged at the lack of understanding by our unable government.

  • mtmla

Just read at http://www.shoebat.com that ISIS is threatening the Pope and the Vatican, and the police in Rome is in high alert.Recently the Pope was extending a friendly hand to muslims .I’m sure he knows better..

    • Dallas25305

Muslims love a friendly hand. It’s easier to cut it off that way.

  • 3Storms

Don’t expect the Godless liberal west to care. They WANT Christians to go away too, and could care less if Christians are among the most persecuted peoples on the planet.

    • Fed Up

Yeah, trouble is islam accords more respect and mercy to Christians, “people of the book”, than the godless. Unbelievers are to be shown no mercy and their fate is only the sword. So our libs may be indifferent to the subjugation and extermination of Christians in a far off land but one day it may be us in their sights up close and personal and it’s one reason I like to say, “Hey lib, they’ll cut your throat first.”

  • Platopus

    Is Islam really a religion?

    • Atikva

      No.
Religion deals with the relation between God and man, not with the proper way to relieve yourself to please Him.

  • EamonnDublin

“Fed Up” – I take your point, but if we all say nothing then you know what’s going to happen. I also accept that the consequences of military action against the Islamic State, etc., are quite horrific – suicide bombers let loose in all Western cities, etc. – but if we simply sit back then the consequences are far more than horrific. I was actually going to write that the consequences are “unimaginable”, but they are, in fact, very imaginable indeed. If we do nothing, all our grandchildren will be facing Mecca five (or whatever) times a day. I say Bomb the Evil Savages, and suffer the (lesser) consequences. May the Good Lord protect us all, and may He show our so-called leaders(??!!??) that they MUST act, and act NOW. We can beat this Evil. We WILL beat this Evil. But, to do so, we must first put a team out on the football field. Éamonn.

    • moneekwa

you are right. if we had done it before, there would have been less severe results. now it will be worse. wait, and if you can push it back at all it will be incredibly bad. last time push back was needed it took CENTURIES.

  • Anonymous

Nothing will ever convince Muslim apologists and Dhimmis in the West of Islam’s violent nature. Nothing. No matter what happens. People are just too blind, deaf, and dumb to understand. And all the while Christians are being exterminated in the very communities they serve. What a tragedy.

  • Anonymous

The se Dhimmis and apologist might as well convert to Islam themselves.

  • cmtljnpkisvji1683

cos the catholic church ,unfortunately have sold their souls to the evil called “Islam “.I read an article which says that Ireland which a catholic country is giving a lot of mosque building permits, one of the main supporter is a church leader.
    God save the world!!

  • EamonnDublin

Hi “Fed Up”. My apologies if my response to yours was taken as a sort of rebuke. It wasn’t meant to be. In fact, I agree with what you said. I just tried to broaden the content out somewhat. Best Wishes, Éamonn.

    • Fed Up

Not really, I was only mildly irked. But that’s all it takes for me to pontificate, if you’ll pardon the pun. :)

      Regards.

  • EamonnDublin

Justin – Fair point. By “bombing” them I really meant knocking them off the planet, by whatever means necessary, not necessarily with a “bomb”. I suppose you could call the wording a bit of Irish verbal liberty! BTW, aren’t they already “back in the 7th century”? I just saw Anjem Chowdary being interviewed by Seán Hannity. Seán could barely get a word in. Choudary shouted “we are coming to get you”. He is one of the main reasons why these guys have to be taken out,Best Wishes, Éamonn.

    • aquaroyale

How do you get Sean’s show in Ireland, satellite?

      • EamonnDublin

Hi Aquaroyale! Yes, by satellite. We have Sky, which is a subsidiary of Fox. Sky satellite gives access to 300 (and more) channels. My wife and I watch Fox every night and we record the later shows (5 hours difference). Favourites are Seán Hannity, Bill O’Reilly, The Five, and more. It’s strange the way people are brainwashed by a substantial part of the media – they say to us “You don’t watch Fox do you?” Then, when you ask if they have ever watched it, they say “No, I wouldn’t watch it”!! They take their “knowledge” of Fox from the leftist/liberal media and don’t bother to check it out for themselves. Very sad! As far as I’m concerned, Fox balances the equation. The rest would have everybody sympathising with the terrorists, in the name of only God knows what! Best Wishes, and Have a Great Labour Day. Éamonn, Dublin.

What makes you think the Church is staying silent? Believe me, the Church is speaking out daily. It’s the news media that doesn’t consider the Church’s words to be worth reporting.

    • EamonnDublin

Scragsma, I would love to believe that, but I would have to have some details before I did so. All I have heard is one statement by Pope Francis about 3-4 weeks ago and also one from the Catholic church in the UK. These were both reported by the media, in some detail. The UK statement was actually headlines in one of the main newspapers in the UK, the “Daily Telegraph”. I know the media is biased, but I also know that the church could do far, far more than it is doing. The very occasional comment is ludicrously insufficient. This is genocide of Christians – SURELY it deserves a far better response than it is getting. Éamonn.

  • EamonnDublin

“Good Girl Yourself” – As we say in Ireland! Thank you m’am. I think we all will agree that it’s good to see that even our so-called “leaders” are at last beginning to wake up to the threat. The problem is that they have left it almost too late. It is far more difficult to deal with now than it would have been 5-10 years ago. They kept on telling us that they were coming for us, but nobody took any notice. However, the difficulty notwithstanding, we will ultimately win the day. Best Wishes to You and Yours, Éamonn.

I thought everyone in San Francisco was too busy hugging rainbows and unicorns to be bothered about islamic-fascism. I have a friend from the Bay Area who told me he didn’t want to read anything negative about islam because it was too depressing.

  • IslamDownpressesHumanity

You’re “probably” lying through your teeth. But, just for laughs. let’s see proof that the Catholic Church has been responsible for the murder of 50 million people.

  • IslamDownpressesHumanity

The Christians in the CAR are defending themselves from the moslem predation that has infested the rest of N. Africa and Nigeria. You see they’ve noticed what happened to the Christians and Jews who used to live in N. Africa.

  • EamonnDublin

HI “SF” – Yes, you are quite correct. Only a few weeks ago, a senior Muslim was reported in the media as saying that Ireland (The Republic) would be the easiest country in Europe to turn Muslim. He is influenced no doubt by the Irish media’s pathetic opposition to Israel in the Gaza situation, and also by the same media’s empathy, even sympathy, with the Islamists (“We had it coming after all we did to them, etc). A Dublin born Muslim extremist named Kelly, about 5-6 years ago on the “Late Late” TV show, said that the black flag of Islam would soon be flying over Dáil Éireann (our parliament). He is still alive, which puzzles me somewhat.

The good news is that, although we Irish take some rousing from our slumbers, if and when the situation gets serious the terrorists will discover very quickly what we are made of. If I might draw an analogy, I often say to people that, yes, I am very polite all of the time, but you take that as a sign of weakness at your peril! In other words, they wouldn’t know what hit them!! Best Regards, Éamonn.

    • Mads

Please save Ireland. Please keep her intact.

      • EamonnDublin

Thank you, “Mads”! The good news is that the senior Muslim is somewhat misguided. Have a look at my last paragraph in my comment and you will see what I mean. Best Wishes to You and Yours, Éamonn.

        • Mads

Ok lol, I see it now. I’m just in a panic lately feeling Europe is going under and knowing America is next up. I hope there are many of people like you, and even me, that are probably going to have to ante up in ways we never dreamt of, or expected, to continue to be free.

Thank you and God bless Eamonn. See you in the ‘field’.

          • EamonnDublin

Thank you, Mads! And God Bless you, also. Don’t worry too much about the United States. It has defended Western civilization very successfully for some time now, and for that I for one am very grateful. I am sure the USA is well equipped to look after itself. Now, if only there were a way to get rid of Mr. Obama …………………..(I mean “impeach”, of course.) Éamonn.

          • Mads

How sweet. :). Thank you and agree about the big O. Look I’m of Irish descent mostly and I care passionately about Ireland and my ancestors, and the British Isles in particular. But I adore Europe and I’m very invested in her, in her staying in solidarity with her amazing history and culture and ethic. The world not only needs Europe but delights in her being/presence. She adds to the goodness of this planet.

We’re (America and Europe) gonna have to stand together and figure this one out. Even the racial divide btwn blacks and whites in the U.S, while better, it’s still periodically problematic and lacking, are gonna have to drop the ball or agenda btwn us, unify, and ante up together to fight this fight. I’m just now really ‘getting’ that there is, will be, and needs now, a fight/war; to truly fight this thing out. For a while I thought mankind could figure out another way or something.

          • EamonnDublin

Hi Mads, Thank you. I said what I said about the USA because it is true. I am a VERY big fan! Sadly, you are right about the West having to “fight” this one out. The IS people are 100% savages. They and their ilk have told us for long enough that they are going to take over the world and rule us all with Shari’a Law. Violent Jihad and Silent Jihad are making large inroads into Western society. Trying to placate the savages will have zero results. The only way is to wipe them out, totally. Yes, that will have serious consequences, but lesser consequences than if we simply say nothing because of a stupid idea called “political correctness”. Wipe the savages off the face of this earth – we owe it to our grandchildren, especially our granddaughters. God Bless Us All. Éamonn.

          • Mads

Yes, Eamonn, God Bless Us All. :)

As a Canadian of partly Irish decent I believe muslims should reap what they sow. Unfortunately the former Western world is now a colony of the 3rd world thanks to the Liberal Socialist pansy leftist leaders have sold out their people and their countries. Note the way the Supreme leader of the U.S.A. the Islamist Hussein Obama is doing everything possible to weaken the U.S. military and how he always supports the terrorist side in the middle east as he has done in Egypt, Libya and now Syria. It’s tough going when the enemy runs your government.

    • EamonnDublin

I totally agree with you, Dallas. Best Wishes, Éamonn.

  • dmartin11

Those people are insane. The whole culture is insane. They are the most childish, self centered little bullies in the universe, except for satan, whom they worship. It’s pathetic really. They are so insecure about their manhood that they think they have to brutalize women and children to defend their male “honor.” It’s the logic of mental and emotional midgets controlled by the 2nd most primitive part of the human brain, the reptilian complex, whose only measure of value is dominance and submission. They submit themselves to satan, and force everyone else to submit to them. How regressive.

  • dmartin11

The hierarchy of the modern catholic church is also dominated by satanists. Read Malachi Martin, a Vatican insider since Vatican II. Yes, I am catholic.

    • EamonnDublin

Hi DMartin11, I haven’t read any of his books, but I do indeed know of Malachi Martin. I hadn’t considered that he actually said that the “hierarchy is dominated by satanists” – more like some members were satanists, albeit of a relatively high order but certainly not “dominating” it. There is, of course, evil in everything: that is an integral part of humanity. All we can do is do our best to live a decent life, and hope and have faith that there is somewhere else, good, for us all. Best Wishes, Éamonn.

      • dmartin11

Certainly in my country the US it is dominated. Read Windswept House. He was in process of writing his most telling book yet when he was mysteriously killed in a suspicious “accident.”

  • dmartin11

The scandals are a symptom of the greater problem. Organized child abuse is a big element of the satanist religion which has infiltrated and in some places largely overtaken the church hierarchy. This works hand in glove with the foolish “progressives” and socialists who have largely succeeded (at least in the US) in turning the church into something completely different than it ever was before Vatican II. They simply use the scandals as another tool to further gut the church of all traditional content, and replace it with their own utopian silliness.

Because that’s what Catholics do best…they hide sexual assault. Could be a reflex reaction from hiding all the diddling their priests do with little boys.

  • moneekwa

all the pope does is say his flock should be more tolerant, islam is all about peace, and then lets those satan worshipping mohammedans pray at the vatican, no less. the prayer was of course against infidels. the entire muslim world KNOWS that praying that on vatican soil was a CONQUEST. this is why IS can say “rome is next” because the spirit side of that conquest has been accomplished, and all that remains is the boots on the ground, which face it, is easier.

Criminal behavior in Christian cultures IS criminal behavior in Muslim cultures. Treat them as criminals who also are Muslim.
