The Moral Psychosis of Demonstrating in Support of Hamas

proAs an example of what the insightful commentator Melanie Phillips referred to as a “dialogue of the demented” in her book, The World Turned Upside Down, since Israel launched Operation Protective Edge some three weeks ago, the streets of American and European cities have been crammed with activists intent on expressing their collective indignation for Israel’s perceived crime of defending its citizens from slaughter from the genocidal thugocracy of Hamas.

Rowdy and sometimes violent demonstrations have taken place in Berlin, Paris, Toronto, London, and Madrid, where blatantly anti-Semitic chants of “Death to Jews!,” “Hitler was right!,” “Gaza is the real Holocaust,” “end Israeli apartheid,” and “Jew, Jew, cowardly swine, come out and fight on your own!” could be heard, with similar events taking place in such U.S. cities as Boston, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Seattle.

Joined with Muslim supporters of those wishing to destroy Israel and murder Jews were the usual suspects of peace activists, Israel-haters, social justice advocates, and labor unionists who decried Israel’s “genocide” against Gaza as well as the militarism, oppression, imperialism, and brutality imbued in Zionism itself. These radical, Israel-loathing groups include, among others, the corrosive, ubiquitous ANSWER (Act Now to Stop War and End Racism), Code Pink, Jewish Voice for Peace, and Students for Justice in Palestine.

What was particularly revealing, and chilling, about the hate-filled rallies was the virulence of the chants and messages on the placards, much of it seeming to suggest that more sinister hatreds and feelings—over and above concern for the current military operations—were simmering slightly below the surface. Several of the morally self-righteous protestors, for instance, shrieked out, to the accompaniment of drumbeats, “Long live Intifada,” a grotesque and murderous reference to the Second Intifada, during which Arab terrorists murdered some 1000 Israelis and wounded more than 14,000 others.

That pro-Palestinian student activists, those who purport to be motivated by a desire to bring “justice” to the Middle East, could publicly call for the renewed slaughter of Jews in the name of Palestinian self-determination demonstrates quite clearly how ideologically debased the human rights movement has become. Activists on and off U.S. campuses, who never have to face a physical threat more serious than getting jostled while waiting in line for a latte at Starbucks, are quick to denounce Israel’s very real existential threats and the necessity of the Jewish state to take counter measures to thwart terrorism. And quick to label the killing of Hamas terrorists by the IDF as “genocide,” these well-meaning but morally-blind individuals see no contradiction in their calls for the renewed murder of Jews for their own sanctimonious cause.

Other protestors were less overt in their angry chants, carrying signs and shouting out the oft-heard slogan, “Free, Free Palestine,” or, as they eventually screamed out, “Palestine will be free, from the river to the sea.” That phrase suggests the same situation that a rekindled Intifada would help bring about, namely that if the fictive nation of “Palestine” is “liberated,” is free, there will, of course, be no Israel between the Jordan River and Mediterranean—and no Jews.

Another deadly chorus emanated from protestors during the rally: “When people are occupied, resistance is justified.” That is an oft-repeated, but disingenuous and false notion that stateless terrorists have some recognized human right to murder civilians whose government has purportedly occupied their territory. That is clearly not any longer the case in Gaza, where every Jew was removed in 2005 and where there is a blockade in effect to prevent the influx of weapons, but clearly no occupation or, as commonly referred to, a “siege.” It may be comforting for Israel’s ideological foes to rationalize the murder of Jews by claiming some international right to do it with impunity and a sense of righteousness. Unfortunately, however, as legal experts have inconveniently pointed out, the rally participants and their terror-appeasing apologists elsewhere are completely wrong about the legitimacy of murder as part of “resistance” to an occupying force. Article IV of the Third Geneva Convention, the statute which defines combatants and legitimate targets in warfare, is very specific about who may kill and who may be killed, and it does not allow for the murder of either Israeli civilians—or soldiers—by Palestinian suicide bombers who wear no identifying military uniforms and do not follow the accepted rules of wars.

So when pro-Palestinian activists and critics of Israel repeat the claim that Palestinians somehow have an internationally-recognized legal “right” to resist occupation through violent means, they are both legitimizing that terror and helping to insure that its lethal use by Israel’s enemies will continue unabated. Those who lend their moral support to terrorism, and who continually see the existence of “grievance-based violence” as a justifiable tool of the oppressed, have helped introduce a sick moral relativism into discussions about radical Islam and Palestinianism, not to mention Israel’s right to protect its citizens from being slaughtered. And the notion that Israel cannot, or should not, retaliate against these rocket attacks until a sufficient number of Israelis has been murdered is equally grotesque.

The fact that so many demonstrators feel comfortable with openly supporting a terrorist group with the single purpose of murdering Jews, that they publicly proclaim that “We are all Hamas now,” indicates quite dramatically how prevalent, and acceptable, genocidal Jew-hatred has become, both in the streets and on campuses in America and Europe. This is clearly not, as it is regularly asserted, merely “criticism” of the Israeli government’s policies; this is what many define as a new permutation of anti-Semitism—an irrational, seething animus against the Jew of nations, Israel.

These fatuous, morally self-righteous activists, many of whom are from the hard Left or the pro-Islamic Right, are, without any expertise in military affairs, eager to advise Israeli officials on the rules of war and denounce the lack of “proportionality” in Israel’s attempts to defend its population from jihadist murderers. And so eager are they to publicly assert their righteousness as defenders of the Palestinian cause, they embrace and “eroticize” terroristic violence and willingly align themselves with Israel’s deadly foes who seek its annihilation, catering, as essayist David Solway lyrically put it, “to the ammoniac hatred of the current brood of crypto-antisemites posing as anti-Zionists.”

In fact, the continual pattern of violence in the Arab world against Israel agitates liberals greatly, and makes them condemn Israel, not its foes, for having inspired Arab rage, with the assumption that only peoples with justifiable grievances are moved to violent ends to solve their woes.

This explains why the Left has regularly glossed over terroristic behavior on the part of Islamists—Hamas, Hezbollah, Fatah, the Al Aqsa Brigades, or others—and has romanticized this violence as “resistance.” This rationalization, that violence is an acceptable, if not expected, component of seeking social justice—that is, that the inherent “violence” of imperialism, colonialism, or capitalism will be met by the same violence as the oppressed attempt to throw off their oppressors—is exactly the style of self-defeating rationality that in this age has proven to be an intractable part of the so-called War on Terror.

Abetted by the Arab world, which has also perennially defined Israelis as European interlopers with no legitimate connection to the Levant, Israel-haters are now willing to sacrifice the very survival of the Jewish state because they feel that false charge of racism and apartheid against Israel is more incompatible with their fervent belief in a perfectible world than the rejectionist and genocidal efforts of the Arab world which, in fact have necessitated Israeli security measures—the separation wall, indeed, the occupation itself—all of which, ironically, are pointed to as indications of exactly how racist Israel’s behavior actually is against the Palestinians.

In fact, observed Harvard’s Ruth Wisse, the more hostile the Arab foes of Israel became, the more difficult it has become for liberals to absolve Israel for creating the very violent urges that emerged to eliminate it. “By blaming Israel for Arab complaints,” she wrote, “liberals anticipate a reasonable, pacific solution to the conflict . . . The democratic Jewish state is subject to ‘rational’ persuasion; not so the Arabs. The more determinedly, and by Western standards, irrationally, Arab governments and their agents pursue their anti-Israel campaign . . . the more desperately the liberal imagination tries to blame the Jews for incurring Arab displeasure.”

The language of multiculturalism that animates the hate-Israel crowd is sprinkled with the code words of oppression, and radicals in newly-identified victim groups frequently see themselves as deserving of protection and special political, racial, and cultural recognition. Thus, the decades-old emphasis on enshrining multiculturalism has meant that activists have been seeped in an ideology which refuses to demarcate any differences between a democratic state struggling to protect itself and aggressive, genocidal foes who wish to destroy it with their unending assaults. For the multiculturalist left, the moral strengths of the two parties are equivalent, even though the jihadist foes of Israel, for example, have waged an unending struggle with the stated aim of obliterating the Jewish state through the murder of Jews.

There is no other explanation for why educated, well-intentioned and humane individuals, experiencing paroxysms of moral self-righteousness in which they are compelled to speak out for the perennial victim, can loudly and publicly advocate for the murder of Jews—who already have created and live in a viable sovereign state—on behalf a group of genocidal enemies of Israel whose tragic condition may well be their own doing, and, at any rate, is the not the sole fault of Israel’s. That these activists are willing, and ready, to sacrifice the Jewish state, and Jewish lives, in the name of social justice and a specious campaign of self-determination by Palestinian Arabs, shows how morally corrupt and deadly the conversation about human rights has become.

And its lethal nature and intent should frighten us all.

Pelosi seems to agree with Qatar that Hamas “are humanitarians.”
The propaganda machine is the vocal minority and it’s the same groups that protest everything as long as there is possibility that cameras will be there which is always the case since they just call one of their own that’s in the TV station. They sided with Hamas years ago too.

There will never be peace when one side brainwashes their children, using cartoons, to “kill the Jew pigs.” This will ensure several more generations of hate and therefore, will never be peace.

All around the world Muslims are slaughtering non-Muslims and treating their women like chattel. So what do all the leftists of the world do? They condemn a state, Israel, that doesn’t oppress females and does not kill other people because they’re of a different religion or no religion.

In short, leftists choose to support a backwards, death-loving people many of whom would gladly kill the leftists who support them, the Islamists. Crazy, isn’t it?
Any leftists out demonstrating against the ISIS killers who have murdered thousands not conforming to their vision of a world-wide, Islamist state? I thought not.

    • StanleyT

Just one point I’d like to add. All around the world, Muslims are also slaughtering other Muslims, just for not being the right kind of Muslim (whatever that may be).

They’re not condemning Israel for the GOOD THINGS Israel does, they’re saying Israel is keeping Palestinians under a state of siege. As for anyone not condemning Islam for all the egregious things Islam does w/which NONE of the rest of the world agrees, show me ANY EVIDENCE of that lack of condemnation? There are anti-FGM groups, there are anti-genocide groups, there are anti-honor killing groups… But the fact is, it takes a long time to STAMP OUT UNDESIRABLE, SOCIOLOGICALLY SANCTIONED BEHAVIOURS that are entrenched in different societies.

Who doesn’t consider the internecine conflicts in Islam to be indicative of something fundamentally wrong w/the Islamic world? Does anyone have an instant solution to those internecine conflicts? Not that I’ve heard about.

It’s a cult plain and simple. The western leftist believes that by worshipping the ” Noble Savage” , said savage will absolve them of the “sins” of their ancestors. Which will in turn allow their Socialist utopia to coalesce into existence and of course it also doesn’t hurt for them, that all this stimulates the spirituality that they claim to be “beyond”.

The anti-Semitism of the 30′s and 40s has never gone away. It just remained dormant for many years. The recent Israeili/Hamas conflict has let the anti-Semitic voices sing loud and clear. It all stems from a jealousy of what the Jews have accomplished and advancements they have made in the face of adversity. No rational person could support terrorism and think that Hamas has a moral right to murder and kill Jews. The recent demonstrations, some turning violent, stem from an irrational hatred of Jews exacerbated by an influx of Muslims into European and American cities, and have nothing to do with support of the Palestinians. What thinking person would say that a country must let their citizens have rockets rain down on them and let their citizens be kidnapped and murdered without any repercussion. It makes no sense.

    • soliel67

I think you hit it on the head…some sort of jealousy. I have a theory. To the left any person, culture, country that is strong and successful is automatically suspect and needs to be taken down a notch or two. Why? Because it is simply unfair to have more successful people, cultures, countries out there, that is why. So like some individuals cannot stand to be in the presence of a successful happy person, the left hates them. Hates them for their accomplishments, class principals. Also because it makes everyone else look bad….so off with their heads!!!

  • jillian1959

I was at a pro-Israel rally last week, and demonstrators were shouting slogans into a megaphone like, “Israel, Israel, what to do you say- how many kids did you kill today?” and yes, the lovely “From the river to the sea.” I thought- this is a peaceful demonstration from our side- let me look into someone’s eyes, person to person, to you know, find the humanity? I was going to hold up a peace sign, but the hate I was met with- given the finger with both hands, spitting slogans out at me, eyes darkened with disgust at me….these are not peaceful people. This are Jew-haters masquerading as pro-Palestinian activists. They are as much a part of the problem for the Palestinian people as are Hamas, and they don’t even realize it.

    • CarlMM

Use their own words against them: “STOP THE HATE!” These same groups use that one when they need it. When they scream more, scream louder. They hate when their own slogans are used against them.

You got it SS! I saw the Canadian “demonstration” in Canada by these jerks. They were a couple hundred in number and I realized we could easily produce THOUSANDS to oppose the evil of anti-semitism, anti-zionism and Christian-murder, gay hangers etc. Islam is every bit as barbaric as the worst pagans in history. Islam is a LIE. We must oppose this cancer in our societies, and join those few brave souls who do go out and make it count. We have to get off our derriere’s and take a stand for Israel.

    • Elizabeth capecod

This is a striking hypocrisy. Liberals and muslims are constantly condemning people as bigots for painting all muslims with the broad brush or radical Islam, but they have no qualms to condemn all Jews by the acts of Israel…..And Israel , unlike jihadists , is acting in defense of being attacked. It’s an upside down world.

    • Drakken

You can never ever make peace with a people that don’t want it, so that goofy peace sign should be thrown away and declare complete loyalty to the west and time for war on the 3rd world savages that make it so. There is no longer room for the middle ground.

    • Americana

There may be some of that, jillian, but there is also the deliberate misinterpretation from the other side of anyone who points out the fallacies in Israel’s position as indicating pro=Hamas sympathies. No one I know is pro-Hamas, they are simply for the granting of a state to Palestinians, to the many Palestinians who are not Hamas members — an OFFICIAL STATE, w/borders and enough land to actually call it a homeland. That homeland is being granted to all Palestinians, even those who’ve committed crimes in order to achieve that homeland. Hopefully, there will be some distinction able to be made between those Palestinians engaging in terrorism and those Palestinians who aren’t engaging in terrorism.

      • jillian1959

I hear you, Americana. And I want that too for Palestinians.I don’t feel I have to be anti-Palestinian to be pro-Israel. I am pro-both to have countries where everyone is safe and secure. And I know they are out there- I have met many on facebook and we have worked hard to cross over those stupid boundaries and meet each other, human to human. That’s what gives me the most hope- it surely wasn’t the people I met that day. Thanks for writing.

        • Yehuda Levi

You do know the person you are responding to does not believe that Israel has a right to exist.

          • Americana

Don’t you ever try to convey to other readers that I’ve claimed Israel doesn’t have a right to exist. I’ve said that Israel doesn’t have the right to claim all that land on the basis of provenance from thousands of years ago. That is an entirely different scenario than what you’re suggesting is my perspective.

My point is that Israel must recognize that she was given access to that land by the displacement of another indigenous people, and that in order to secure a peace, Israel must figure out how to grant sufficient land to statehood to the Palestinians.

          • Yehuda Levi

Don’t you ever try to tell me what I can or cannot write.

I have read enough of your propaganda to know exactly what you are. You are a pro-Palestianian Arab sympathizer who always and only criticizes Israel.

To try to play the ‘rational’ or ‘objective’ party is ridiculous. You have made it quite clear which side you are on.

          • Webb

Exactly. As a terrorist sympathizer she is also fully a terrorist.

          • Yehuda Levi

She is certainly enabling terrorism. Apologists for terrorists do their own part to keep the conflict going.

And it is laughable to think that people own land forever and ever no matter what happens in the future. You own whatever you have the ability to keep.

          • Dr.Polidori

What a hysterically funny post! The reasoning behind Yehuda Levi’s latest and greatest post is so laughably inverted and that fallacious reasoning goes unrecognized by the writer. You wrote “And it is laughable to think that people own land forever and ever no matter what happens in the future.” That’s a condemnation right there of Israel’s coming along and bumping out the indigenous Palestinians on the basis of thousands of years’ old Jewish provenance except w/the twist of what the Israelis have done in the present day to regain rights to the land.

          • Yehuda Levi

So, do you agree or disagree?

          • IslamDownpressesHumanity

This is her jihad. The jihad of the weak-willed muslim not willing to sacrifice their life for allah.

          • Americana

Listen, Senore Obtuse. I’m not “pro-Arab” and I’m deifnitely “not Muslim” and I’m definitely “pro-Palestinian” and if Israel must shoulder some of the blame, I’m going to blame Israel in the same way and to the same proportional extent to which I blame the Palestinians. NO NATION IS CLEAN under this messy scenario.

The fact pro-Israel posters insist that someone chooses sides or they’re otherwise declared to be anti-Israel or anti-Semitic (which is worse in your mind, I wonder?) by you pro-Israel types is indicative that you don’t see any resolution for this situation other than permitting Israel to go to full-out war and killing everyone who’s a Palestinian Arab. However, there are scattered groups of Palestinian Arabs in various Middle Eastern countries. They’re NOT GOING TO IGNORE a genocide of the Palestinian Arabs. Neither would the Arabs. Most of all, neither would any jihadist movement. After all, it’s clear (though you’re welcome to disagree w/me), the roots of this modern Middle East jihad movement(s) arose from the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and as its duration has increased, the jihad has gained more and more momentum. The choices the Israelis have made for themselves have brought on more and more jihad for themselves and for the rest of the world.

          • Yehuda Levi

Since Palestinians are Arabs, and you are pro-Palestinian, you are therefore pro-Arab. Let’s be honest.

You never criticize ‘Palestinian Arabs’ so there is no balance to your criticism whatsoever – nor will there be.

The two parties are not “clean” but this is the fallacy of your moral equivalency. You treat jaywalkers the same as murderers. There is no justice in that.

As for the land, there is no eternal covenant granted by anyone on the planet that certain individuals or groups can hold ownership to land forever. You own what you have the ability to keep control of. There is no doubt that if the Arabs could militarily defeat Israel, they would do so and Israel would cease to exist.

Do I think you are objective and fair about this situation? Absolutely not.

          • Patriot

Let’s take a quick look at the recent history of the region, shall we? In 1947, the United Nations voted to partition the British Mandate of Palestine into two countries – Israel, which had a majority of Jews within its boundaries, and an Arab nation to be named, which had a majority of Arabs, mostly Muslim, but a significant number of Christians, within its borders. The Jews of the region gratefully accepted the proposal and the Arabs rejected it. For weeks preceding the date chosen for British withdrawal from the area, radio stations in all the surrounding Arab countries blared calls for Arabs to leave the fighting zones, to avoid being slaughtered along with the Jews. The last British troops were withdrawn on May 14, 1948, and on May 15, armies from Syria, Jordan, Egypt, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia invaded the newly announced nation of Israel. In a little over a year of warfare, the Israelis held on to their territory and enlarged it, mostly leaving the indigenous population alone as long as they did not fight. The Arabs killed men women and children in their drive for Jewish territory. Finally, a UN-brokered armistice was signed in 1949, establishing the borders of Israel pending a permanent truce. That was not forthcoming, despite Israeli attempts over the next 19 years to talk. In 1967, the Egyptian government, “proving” to its people it was determined to wipe out Israel, closed the Suez Canal to any ships bound for Israel, and closed off the Gulf of Aqaba, essentially putting Israel’s second largest port out of business. This is generally regarded by civilized nations as an act of war. Israel tried to find someone to negotiate a settlement in the face of calls throughout the Arab world for a renewed jihad and slaughter of the Jews. Finally, as Egypt was preparing to launch air attacks on Israel, Israel struck first, wiping out the Egyptian air force on the ground. Egyptian troops, believing the lie they were fed that Egypt’s air force controlled the air, moved into Israel, where they were promptly driven back, in 6 days of fighting, to the Suez Canal. Syria attacked and was driven back of the heights of Golan. Egyptian President Nasser told King Hussein of Jordan that the Egyptian troops were carrying the day and that if Jordan did not immediately attack, the Jordanians would be seen as cowards in the Arab world. The Jordanian army began its attack from Jerusalem on the second day of the war. It took the Israeli army just 4 days to capture the entire “West Bank” region. Since that war, Israel gave Sinai back to Egypt, in return for a peace agreement, but the Egyptians refused to accept the Gaza Strip. Israel later concluded a peace treaty with Jordan, but Jordan refused to accept the West Bank in return. Israel gave Gaza back to the Palestinian Authority in 2005, removing all Jews from the strip.

Arab sympathizers of Hamas are busy slaughtering Christians and Muslims they disagree with in Syria and Iraq. Hamas continues to call for the extermination of Jews worldwide. The 1 million Jews who were forced out of Arab countries in which they had lived for over 3,000 years until 1948, were quickly resettled in Israel and their communities have thrived. Israel has allowed Arabs to become citizens of Israel and they are represented on both the Supreme Court of Israel and in the Israeli Knesset. They are businessmen, teachers, doctors, lawyers and every other walk of life you can imagine. The Arabs of the West Bank and Gaza are, for the most part, unemployed and marginalized. No other Arab country would allow them to resettle so they live in squalid refugee camps and are taught it is Israel’s fault they are in this situation.

Hamas needs to be eliminated from Gaza and the people of Gaza need to rebuild their region, which has been decimated by repeated battles they have started and lost. Then and only then, is there a chance for a lasting peace with Israel. Israel and the West Bank Palestinians need to settle on borders that are defensible for Israel and agree to help each other thrive in the land. If you believe that any of that will happen witht he destruction of Israel, you are seriously deluded.

          • Americana

Patriot, you must not know that many of those “Arab broadcasts” were actually Israeli in origin. There are a lot of aspects to the achievement of Israeli statehood that are less then glorious. They may have been practical, they may have been necessary, they were also Fifth Columnist tactics of which the Irgun and the Haganah would be proud.

Yes, I’d agree that Hamas is an organization that has some terrible components to its philosophy. Sadly for Israel and the Palestinians, there’s no way to eliminate the Hamas component of the Palestinian population. The Israelis will have to find some way toward peace despite Hamas. The Israelis cannot simply continue to say the peace is only on their terms and that it must be finalized w/the Israelis taking possession of Judea and Samaria. Playing Catch-22 year after year and decade after decade has only increased the jihadi pressure against Israel.

The Palestinians (no such people) who were “displaced” as you claim, were the Arab citizens who ran from their homes into neighboring Jordan, Egypt, Lebanon and Syria in 1948.
For weeks before the start of the war in 1948, Arab radio stations broadcast messages and dropped leaflets telling Muslims in Israel, to flee the country before the start of the war that surrounding Arab nations had planned should Israel be recognized as a nation.
Their Arab masters told them that they could return to their homes in a few days, once every Jew in Israel had been slaughtered.
Sadly for them, Israel was victorious.
Many Muslims did stay however, and they and their descendants continue to live in Israel to this day and enjoy all of the rights and privileges of Israeli citizenship.

          • Americana

You do know that plenty of those “Arab broadcasts” encouraging the Nakba were Israeli-produced, right? This was meant to achieve the “transference” of Israel from a Palestinian-Israeli land to an Israeli land.

The “Concept of Transfer in Zionism”[edit]

Discussion of the “idea of transfer” in political Zionism became popular beginning in the 1980s when Israel declassified documents pertaining to the 1948 Arab–Israeli War period and the so-called New Historians began publishing articles and books based on these documents. The Zionist “concept of transfer” was cited by authors likeNur Masalha and Walid Khalidi to support their argument that the Zionist Yishuv followed an expulsion policy. Others such as Morris reject the idea that “transfer” thinking led to a political expulsion policy as such, but invoke the theory to explain that the idea of transfer was endorsed in practice by mainstream Zionist leaders, particularlyDavid Ben-Gurion. Critics of the “transfer principle” theory cite public addresses by the Zionist leadership that preached co-existence with the Arabs.

The idea that “transfer ideology” contributed to the exodus was first brought up by several Palestinian authors, and supported by Erskine Childers in his 1971 article, “The wordless wish”. In 1961 Walid Khalidi referred to the transfer idea to support his idea that the Yishuv followed an expulsion policy in April and May 1948.[67] In the 1980s, historian Benny Morris became the most well-known advocate of the existence of the “transfer idea”.[68] According to Morris, while not discounting other reasons for the exodus, the “transfer principle” theory suggests that this prevalent “attitude of transfer” is what made it easy for the Jewish population to accept it and for local Haganahand IDF commanders to resort to various means of expelling the Arab population.

He also notes that the attempt to achieve a demographic shift through aliyah (Jewish immigration to the land of Israel) had not been successful. As a result, some Zionist leaders adopted the transfer of a large Arab population as the only viable solution.[69] Morris also points out that “[if] Zionist support for ‘Transfer’ really is ‘unambiguous’; the connection between that support and what actually happened during the war is far more tenuous than Arabs propagandists will allow.” (Morris, p. 6)

To this he adds that “From April 1948, Ben-Gurion is projecting a message of transfer. There is no explicit order of his in writing, there is no orderly comprehensive policy, but there is an atmosphere of [population] transfer. The transfer idea is in the air. The entire leadership understands that this is the idea. The officer corps understands what is required of them. Under Ben-Gurion, a consensus of transfer is created.”[70]

            Origins of the “Transfer Idea”[edit]

Morris concludes that Zionism’s aim was “to transform a land which was ‘Arab’ into a ‘Jewish’ state and a Jewish state could not have arisen without a major displacement of Arab population”. According to Morris only after Arab resistance emerged did this become a rationale for transfer.[71] Other authors, including Palestinian writers and Israeli New Historians, have also described this attitude as a prevalent notion in Zionist thinking and as a major factor in the exodus.

          • IslamDownpressesHumanity

Gee, have you read Anwar Sheikh’s Islam: The Arab Imperialism?
It would seem to me that Israel is a thorn in your muslim side because they’re resisting your islamic nightmare of yet another islamic-fascist state in the Mid-East.

          • IslamDownpressesHumanity

A re-wrap of the land-for-peace deals that haven’t given anyone in Israel any peace whatsoever, because for some reason it seems like the islamic terrorism against Israel never ends.

          • letstalkcandidly

“indigenous people” – this is another myth that has been repeated by the liberal media and our western Marxist professors so long that many now state it as if it is a fact. “Palestinians” are another myth. The people we call Palestinians are Arabs. Jews were in the land now called Israel long before Palestinians, Ottomans, and Arabs in general and other post-biblical conquerors. As for a two-state solution – that is yet another myth. But this one can not be made into a reality simply by repetition. Islam dictates that Palestine will be cleared of Jews “from river to sea”. The only way there will be peace in Israel is if the Arabs in Palestine are finally assimilated by other Arab nations in the Middle East. They will never live in peace with Jews in Israel.

        • Drakken

Well Jillian, you can wish in one hand and sh*t in the other, which one are you going to fill up first? This ends only one way, either the muslims win or the Israeli’s, it is that bloody simple. Because those effing muslim savages that you have empathy for want those Jews dead and gone and they don’t care how many bodies it takes to make it happen, and your too obtuse to get it.

        • Habbgun

No, no and no. You are not moral because you believe in some kind of idealism. You are moral because you have a code that you will make decisions from. The religious Jews have said all along that when the heat gets worse the liberal Jews who say they will support Israel should the peace process fail will not. They will run or yell on the other side. Guess what. The religious were right. Oslo failed. Autonomy failed. We have been repaid with rockets. The Palis are not the peace loving secularists that the liberal Jew told us they were. They are Jihadists and threaten every nation on our planet.

The liberal Jew has disappeared. He is not pro-Israel. He is silent or in J Street. How did the religious know this would happen? Think of all the Communist Jewish organizations that once existed especially in Russia. They turned in fellow Jews for being loyal to their religion. When they weren’t needed they went to Siberia too. The game hasn’t changed. A leftist has to make decisions like everyone else. When the environment turns hard leftist they most often will too. They know nothing else but Leftism.

I will say one thing for Americana. She is a British Chav through and through but she is loyal to her fellow Chav. Talk about the history of the United Kingdom and she will always defend it. No matter how egregious the crime she will tell you England did it for the benefit of the colonised. She will deny that England was proud to have an empire. She will instead insist that Israel is the empire. Give her credit she is consistent and loyal.

She does not allow Americans to be pro-America or Jews to be Jewish or Israelis to be pro-Israel. She is a pure partisan. Why you think a Jew shouldn’t be pro-Jewish but everyone else gebets to be an absolute partisan is beyond me.

          • Americana

Listen, Habbgun, that’s not exactly the take-away perception you should have of the situation. The Zionist “religulists” who insist and have insisted since the founding of Israel on theft and continuing theft as their way to the entire footprint of the Promised Land of the Balfour Agreement, are condemning Israel to a tenuous life of constant war on the basis of their unjustly misappropriating Palestinian land.

That’s pretty ripe that you’d claim that liberal Jews would abandon Israel should there ever be a real war. At that point, my belief is exactly the opposite. No one abandons their country when they see it being overrun, whatever their political perspective on the reasons for the war.

As for me sympathizing w/the aims of the British Empire, no, I never have. Every European country did colonization and the colonial thing. Virtually every country that was on the fringe of the continent of Europe that had any shoreline and any sizable navy that enabled countries to get armies to strategic points to fight for and win territory participated in colonizing the New World. If you want to shovel information into your crock of sh*t only to then dump the contents into a thread somewhere, be SURE you know what the ingredients are from Americana’s perspective. That’s YOUR INGREDIENT LIST, not MINE.

          • Habbgun

          • Habbgun

So basically I point out you are tribal in your viewpoint and you use words like religulist and say I have to bow down to your point of view in absolute terms. All hail the Chav!!!

Secondly you are quite ignorant to how leftist Jews have treated their fellow Jew under Communism and Fascism. It is shocking but not to you. To you it would be enlightened.

Thirdly, I’m not the widdle horsey daddy got Americana for being a good red diaper baby. I don’t have to put up with a spoiled brat for a second.

Your very clear lack of knowledge is shown by the extremely limited types of posts you contribute, Drakken. My posts aren’t at all based on “I feel, therefore I am” policy positions. That’s what worries you and aggravates you and that’s why you’re always taking the cheapest possible shots at me in hopes of undercutting my perspective.

          • Drakken

      • Judgmentday

There’s no specific group who can call themselves Palestinians. Who are they? Where did they come from? When did they arrive in Israel? Who was their leader? Did they have a parliament, an army, a system of equality of justice? Did they invent anything? Write historical books? Did they have any recognition by anyone prior to the 20th century? Americana, you’re a liberal sucker who’s bought into nothing but nonsense and hypocrisy. Honor killings, stoning women to death, cutting off kids’ limbs, hanging gays from cranes in the middle of the town square — all of that PLUS goes on in Gaza on a daily basis…and you have the chutzpah to say give the modern-day Huns a state? Quit blowing smoke up your own butt — and ours!

        • Americana

Oh, then on this basis, there are no Israelis? You’d best not continue down this particular line of reasoning because it leads you to a big cliff. Let’s not pretend there are/were no “Palestinians” via this subterfuge of disputing the fact the Palestinian Arabs had no government of their own because that does NOT equate w/proof of provenance of the Palestinian Arabs within the region. You can’t chant, “Nakba, nakba forever!” without TACITLY acknowledging that Israelis chased out the native-born Palestinian Arabs. In fact, the Nakba is not the only evidence that the Israelis are WELL AWARE of what the legitimacy is to Palestinian claims to the region.

          • Judgmentday

Based on your complete lack of logic, in addition to standing virtually alone in this thread in defense of the barbaric savages and not even addressing the lack of humanity among them, by default you have lost this debate. Please go back into your cave until after the winter is over.

          • Americana

Who gives a rip if someone stands alone in a debate? As for my exhibiting a lack of logic, my logic is a direct reflection of your own logic so it’s not illogical for me to turn the tables on your logic. Just FYI, you don’t win debates by declaring yourself the winner.

          • Drakken

The Victor in war decides what the fate of the vanquished is, not silly little progressives like you. Fu** the ragheads, they lost. Nothing more to debate or decide. Your just a little slow on the up take.

      • letstalkcandidly

Why would that distinction be made, Americana? When you march with people brandishing Hamas flags, the flags of terrorists who sacrifice disposable women and children while the cowardly leaders cower in bunkers, you are endorsing what they do and say. No distinction can be made. When those who truly care only about peace in Palestine and a good life for Arabs there, they will march peacefully, distance themselves from the thugs and the evil Jew-haters and then they will earn the respect of those of us who march in that peaceful way for Israel. Until then, no distinction can or will be made.

        • Americana

Most people here make no effort to distinguish between those Palestinians who are Hamas sympathizers and those who voted for Hamas simply because they thought that vote might bring a national declaration of liberation sooner. There obviously are a significant number of Palestinians who wish for a reasonable peace or there wouldn’t be Palestinian/Israeli peace organizations. No distinction is being made because it’s far more compelling to claim there is no peace partner bloc among the Palestinians when the reality is, there are such Palestinians. The big hangup is that Hamas is unwilling to recognize Israel. Yet there have always been messy peace treaties where there was no guarantee that the peace would actually hold because of the lack of commitment from the signatories. This is what the case will be because of Hamas. Should the rest of the Palestinians suffer for Hamas’ philosophical reluctance?

          • Drakken

WFP of the pali’s wanting the jews dead don’t you quite get or understand? There is no peace there is no peace agreement since there is no to give, period, end of goddamn story! Get with the goddamn program shortbus!

          • IslamDownpressesHumanity

I’ve never noticed any moslems anywhere having any problems with the charter of Hamas and its calls for the extermination of Jews and the destruction of Israel. As a matter of fact, I have yet to read you condemn it.

Antisemitism is part of the Luciferian construct to delay and derail his ultimate sentence and destiny. I know this is not a politically correct statement for most people when addressing the situation in the Middle East; but, it is the reality. “People of the Book” (namely, Jews and Christians) are not allowed to use their Scriptures as authoritative sources in this discussion whereas the Muslims and Muslim-apologists are free to use all of theirs. What a brilliant tool of Lucifer.

Cravatts makes all of the correct and logical arguments against the Hamas supporting psychoses exhibited in growing numbers around the world. The fomenting hatred for Israel and the Jews is alarming–and it’s only going to get worse. “People of the Book” need to boldly reclaim and use their source of authority to challenge the Muslims and Muslim-apologists. Otherwise, the debate will languish around moral bankruptcy and equivalency when the real topic is much larger.

    • liz

Actually, there is a good reason scriptures should not be used to challenge or justify either side of this conflict.
Scriptures (the Bible included) are not factually or historically accurate. To argue from a basis that is not solidly factual is a weak position. It will devolve into a pointless “my scriptures are better than your scriptures” argument.
The case against Islamic terrorism and anti-Semitism already has all the facts on its side and can be argued solidly from a solely rational standpoint, leaving Islamists with no excuse to justify what they do by their “scriptures”.

      • JVictor

You make my point exactly, Liz, when you say, “The case against Islamic terrorism and anti-Semitism already has all the
facts on its side and can be argued solidly from a solely rational
standpoint, leaving Islamists with no excuse to justify what they do by
their “scriptures”.” The problem is that for more than 2,500 years, rational arguments have failed because it’s a spiritual battle and not a rational one. Therein lies the nefarious rub.

        • phoebeintheforest

Exactly. We are in a religious war whether or not folks want to recognize it as such.

        • Americana

Sorry, I’m hitting the buzzer on this idea of yours — “The problem is that for more than 2,500 years, rational arguments have failed because it’s a spiritual battle and not a rational one.”

This situation in the Middle East between Palestinians and Israelis presents an entirely new twist to the conflict between the two religions because by founding Israel, the Jews are transgressing against Muslims by taking land that belonged to the Palestinian Arab Muslims of the region and claiming it in perpetuity for the Jews.

This is NOT a simple instance of the Jews fighting against paying the jihzya tax or fighting to remain loyal to their religion against the pressure of a Muslim society. This seizure of land to found Israel crosses over into many different areas of the Islamic code. The Israelis have held the Palestinians in thrall ever since the founding of Israel and act as if they’ll be the nation that makes the final determination of national status for the Palestinians. So far, I believe that’s been done as a matter of diplomatic courtesy, however, if the situation continues, I don’t believe the world will continue to let the two nations duke it out in this self-serving fashion.

          • JVictor

And I am hitting the buzzer on your idea. The problem with the type of mindset you argue for is that you have a short-sighted view of history. Archaeological evidence continues to stack up that proves the Scriptures are historically and factually accurate. The Jewish presence in Israel predates the Arab (Palestinian) presence by more than 4,000 years.

Your mindset also neglects the reality that it was the leaders of the Arab nations surrounding Israel that encouraged the Arabs to leave in anticipation of running all of the Jews out into the sea the day after Israel was re-established (which, by the way, follows prophecy from the Scriptures) so that the Arabs could swarm back into the area. Supernaturally, that did not happen.

Israel ought to be commended for exercising such restraint since 1948. The Arabs should be condemned for exhibiting such hate since the days of Muhammad.

          • Americana

No, you’re wrong. It was not only the Arab leaders and Arab communities surrounding Israel that broadcast the need for the Palestinian Arabs to flee. There was also an effort by Israelis to initiate a whisper campaign of fifth columnist hints and broadcasts that Israel would commit a massacre of those Palestinians who remained behind. There is documentation of the extent to which Israel initiated broadcasts telling the Palestinians to flee to neighboring Jordan. Some of the Nakba certainly happened simply because of the tumult of the political situation, but some of it was definitely engineered by Israelis to secure the more VULNERABLE, CENTRAL CORE of Israel from an overabundance of a Palestinian demographic remaining after the partition and declaration of independence..

          • JVictor

Here’s where some intellectual honesty will serve you well. Those darn, ignorant Israelis were relying on their Scriptures and oral tradition claiming that the land was theirs dating back nearly 6,000 years ago. (The Arabs didn’t claim that neck of the woods until, at the earliest, 1,400 years ago (a difference of 4,600 years, give or take)). So, why wouldn’t the Israelis engage in a “whisper campaign” to encourage the invaders to get out of their homeland? Today, both the Scriptures and oral tradition are being validated archaeologically and other wise. History matters–and the invaders are the Arabs.

          • Americana

The Israelis engaged in this “whisper campaign” because they didn’t want to have to contend w/the Palestinian Arabs in their midst post-declartion of statehood. Considering the Palestinian Arabs aren’t the ones who should be penalized for having first conquered the Jews in the region, why should the Palestinians be the ones to pay the ultimate price of eviction? It doesn’t matter what Jewish scripture tells them belongs to them. That is not how international law works in modern times. Besides which, if the British hadn’t given the Jews the opportunity to resettle in Palestine the present contretemps wouldn’t have come about. If we Americans hadn’t continued to supply the Israelis w/ammunition, the Israelis wouldn’t have been able to hold off the Arabs, whether they be Palestinians or others of the Arab bloc .

          • Drakken

You keep quoting so called international law like it means something, it doesn’t.

          • JVictor

“International law?” Hmmm. Let’s see; international law declared that Israel was a sovereign Jewish state on November 29, 1947 when the United Nations General
Assembly passed a resolution calling for the establishment
of a Jewish State in the land of Israel; the General Assembly
required the inhabitants of the land of Israel to take
such steps as were necessary on their part for the implementation
of that resolution. This recognition by the United Nations
of the right of the Jewish people to establish their
            State is irrevocable. (http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/History/Dec_of_Indep.html)

And I’ll bet that the UN didn’t even care to consult the Hebrew Scriptures!

Therefore, Hamas, Fatah, the Muslim Brotherhood, Iran, just to name a few, are all breaking “international law” when they call for the destruction of Israel and the annihilation of all Jews.

          • IslamDownpressesHumanity

Yeah and the Temple Mount is islam’s 3rd (or is it 2nd?) holeiest site.

          • Guest

The success of terrorist Arafat’s invention was the label for the demographic he admitted was a fiction, a non existent people. His sole purpose was to use t the term “Palestinians” to destroy Israel from within. This strategy was successful as a way to revise history & replace fact with fiction for non inquiring minds.
TheUnited Nations definition of the word: All Arabincluding temporary workers who spent TWO YEARS in the newly created & named “Palestine” prior to 1948, as well as all of their descendants & relatives, forever– with or without proof or documentation. This definition was specifically designed to include immigrant Arab settlers (but not Jewish settlers).
            So here’s an idea.
First of all: Do you own any land? Does your family own any land? Do you have a shred of decency? If you covet the ultimate award, considered by PC defined Westerners to be the highest possible honour awarded for self sacrifice of personal security, then here is what you must do immediately: You get to put your money where our mouth is. Sign your land over to the ultimate humanitarian cause, overseen & organized by a little known NGO called GAG ME INC. {“Give All Gazans My Estate Incorporated”}.
Include in all relevant terms of transfer of title to whatever number of self declared “Palestinians” in Gaza are to become the designated future owners of your land elsewhere.
(Note: Be sure to NOT accidentally donate your land to millions of other facetiously name “Palestinians” persecuted by their own brethren elsewhere in the Middle East. They are not the issue, They have no political currency. Only those in Gaza do. Only those who have been educated in how to create rights to achieve landowner status of land owned by others. Only they are relevant here. (Pssst – let’s face it, just between you & me, we both know this is about Jews, but for the present let’s stay focused on Israelis who not only survive against all odds but win Nobel prizes for countless inventions indispensable to modern life, like the Iron dome, the Israelis who do so damn well that they no longer qualify as victims de jour, ok? So, for now this means those Jews in Israel.)
This is not about Palestinians. So you don’t want to focus too closely on who does or does not have any real right to be anywhere, that could get tricky fast, & this is also not about male honour killings, Female GM, death to gays, beheadings, pedophilia, how Muslims mistreat, main, kill or use other Muslims. Don’t go there. That would raise ugly questions about co-dependency of cult abuse victims & their sick attachment to their abusers, right?)
Okay back to transfer of title.
In terms of transfer of your land title to Gazans, include conditions which ascertain as the former landowner that once they own the land you have given them. you will personally supply & deliver to the doors of the new owners regular food plus the necessities of life, in perpetuity.
            OR
            CONVERSELY:
(NOTE: Similarly to in the Middle East, the Mau Mau failed to capture widespread public support, partly due to the British policy of divide & rule)
Here’s How to Use Pay Pali On Your Landlord:
If you yourself rent property, try this instead:
First asap give birth to as many children as physically possible. Invite to move in pregnant relatives & pregnant family to gain strength in numbers by increasing the size of tenant occupancy of ALL adjoining flats, apartments in the same building until in effect you block bust the whole building, next the whole street, then the whole neighbourhood. Mosques are one of many excellent block buster tools. If necessary, plead with far flung distant relatives to emigrate from everywhere else & come to live beside, above, below, up & down the street and/or w/ you in your flat as well as to occupy all flats & buildings around you in all directions. Once you have used hook or crook to increase occupancy by a factor of at least ten times, submit complaints to police that your landlord abuses you. Next, apply to obtain special refugee status (preferably provided by the UN). They are good at this. Get the UN to grant your group collective entitlement to shift from renter to owner of your flat, building block. If the landlord has done any improvements over the years, don’t let him/her back in again. Invite gangs to use your homes to store caches of illegal weapons & plan their next assaults. Let the place slide into slow ruin. Collate proof of apartment or flat decline, land devaluation, property depreciation. The goal here is to wear the owner down by using the proof of neglect, the media, non stop whining, complaints & intimidation. Number one rule: Do nothing to improve your own lives. Teach your children that all landowners except you are evil & inhuman. Do all of this for as long as it takes. Turn landlord tenant laws upside down to erode the landowner’s desire to continue to own & rent out land. Meanwhile once things reach critical mass, use your gangs to stage violent assaults on the landlord’s own home. Demand that the landlord give you the property outright & leave the area altogether or you will burn down his home. Use intimidation, bullying, threats. Be prepared to escalate to violence daily. In the meantime make repeat appeals to NGOs, do gooder societies, health & welfare agencies, tenant associations, well meaning poverty sympathetic agencies and anyone easily manipulated. Incorporate the “we have always lived here” argument of short term ancestral occupancy of all flat(s) & buildings. Use tactics with no basis in historical fact to erode the morale of the landlord non stop. Ultimately you will be able to force the landlord to deed the land to you. Be sure to throw into the mix your right for the ex-landlord to support you & your countless offspring, The trick here is to begin by exploiting the guilt of those who feel terrible that they are not in your situation, while using violence & “you made me attack you” arguments to capitalize on just the right amount of their need to use Neville Chamberlain style appeasement.
Then, when the time is right -Escalate to righteous takeover using weapons. It works. The world will beat a path to your door.

          • Americana

The reverse of this works for the Israeli position as well:

(GUEST) “Use tactics with tons of ancient basis in historical fact (the more ancient the better, the more recent historical facts, you simply ignore) to erode the morale of the landlord non stop.

The Gaza strip is an islamofascist entity. An entity exactly like all the rest of the islamofascist states in the region. Israel is a freedom loving democracy that doesn’t persecute people of faiths other than islam or women.

        • liz

No, I’m not making your point.
Your point is in an entirely different realm than mine: the realm of the “supernatural”, in which one engages in a “spiritual battle”. (“It’s all in your head”, Mr. Tweedy).
But, at any rate, whether one battles rationally or irrationally, a physical battle involving the annihilation of Muslims is what it must boil down to, since that is exactly what they (using their “scriptures” as a justification) are waging against all civilization.

          • JVictor

It all boils down to the annihilation of Islam, NOT the annihilation of Muslims.

          • IslamDownpressesHumanity

Um, nazism wasn’t defeated until nazis were. islam would be nothing more than a disgusting, Jew hating, Dark Ages death cult if it weren’t for mohammedans willing and able to carry out the tenets of islam.

          • liz

I don’t think the two can be separated. Muslims who believe they are justified in murdering all non Muslims will have to be annihilated before they blow the rest of the world up. If there are Muslims who are willing to submit to the rule of law and drop the “jihad” pretense, fine. Let them alone to believe whatever they want, as long as they give up attempting to rule the world for Allah.

      • Guest

        Well said Liz.

  • wildjew

Overall this is a fine piece with two caveats.

Dr. Cravatts wrote: “Article IV of the Third Geneva Convention, the statute which defines combatants and legitimate targets in warfare, is very specific about who may kill and who may be killed, and it does not allow for the murder of either Israeli civilians—or soldiers—by Palestinian suicide bombers who wear no identifying military uniforms and do not follow the accepted rules of wars.”

I am not an expert on international law. I must confess, other than Israel’s rights to the land of Israel according to the League of Nations Mandate, I’ve not studied international law respecting who may or may not be killed in war according to the Conventions in depth. I do know Israel’s enemies use the Geneva Conventions against Israel’s use of “aerial bombardment” against Palestinian terror targets in Gaza and in other areas.

There is a good piece on YNet written by Major-General Giora Eiland, former head of Israel’s National Security Council.

In Gaza, there is no such thing as ‘innocent civilians’

    http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-4554583,00.html?comment_id=650200185094187

Dr. Cravatts wrote: “….the rejectionist and genocidal efforts of the Arab world….have necessitated the occupation itself.”

On this I agree with Naftali Bennett (Jewish Home), when he says one does not “occupy” one own home. One does not occupy one’s own land. Israelis have a legitimate right to live and build in Judea and Samaria; Jerusalem. Jews have a legitimate right to live and build in Gaza. These territories are all part and parcel of the Jewish National Home according to international law and more importantly according to the Bible and history.

    • Gee

The 4th Geneva Convention is rather explicit on the matter – it has to be.

Any targeting of civilians is a war crime. Any combatant must wear a identifying insignia or then all civilians will be considered combatants. Use of civilian structures for military purposes negates their protected status. Human shields voluntary are considered combatants or involuntary are hostages and a war crime.

The rules are clear and the Arabs violate them all – Israel violates none of them

      • wildjew

You say Israel violates none of them. Are you suggesting, according to the 4th Geneva Convention (which is rather explicit on the matter) the United States and the British could not have responded to Na zi terror with Allied terror? Because Americans and British deliberately targeted German civilians for annihilation with the express purpose of demoralizing the German people into no longer supporting Germany’s war effort. You say this was illegal according the the Conventions which were codified after the war. What about aerial bombardment of civilians according to the 1907 Hague Convention?

        • Gee

Under the 1907 Hague Convention does not mention aerial bombardment – nor does the 4th Geneva Convention. It is explicit to the point of intent – targeting civilians is a crime – period.

Since the weaponry of the era were area weapons, the idea that bombing industrial targets within enemy territory is a legitimate target. The accuracy of the weapons let a lot to be desired. I do believe that the allies stated that they were in fact targeting legitimate military targets. Intent is the issue, the Arabs scream their intent to murder civilians

          • wildjew

Thanks. Industrial and military targets were the aim of German and British bombers early in the war you are correct but later in the war, if my memory serves me correctly, the Allies deliberately bombed German cities in an effort (it was hoped) which would demoralize the German populace into not supporting the German war effort. Do you think I am mistaken?

          • IslamDownpressesHumanity

Are you trying to justify the islamic-fascists indiscriminate rocket attacks against Israel?

        • IslamDownpressesHumanity

When was the last rolling artillery barrage? WW2? Artillerymen are going to have dust off the history books to figure out how to do that again.

          • Drakken

The Russians are very fond of using it and it works, ask the Chechens what they fear the most? Gen Mattis used it in Fallujah when the urban fighting was costing us to great a price.

  • Webb

Israel will not and cannot be defeated, and it just drives them nuts. It’s their cathartic reaction to the fact that Israel is historic and permanent forever. There’s not a thing they can do about it except for going apoplectic at their demonstrations. It’s so laughable and pitiful to watch them. They could choose to be normal people and go on with their lives, save for their demonic hatred. They’re demon possessed and they like it. Governments who tolerate their destruction deserve their destruction.

    • Americana

You’d better re-think this whole concept that “Israel can’t be defeated.” Israel can be brought to her knees economically w/enough incidents of particular kinds just as the U.S. suffered tremendously from the fallout from the economic effects of 9/11. The fact Caroline Glick went ballistic because the U.S. banned flights to Israel for less than 24 hours shows you just how sensitive the Israeli economy is to jostling of particular kinds. The fact Israel has military superiority that will stand her in good stead for quite a while is only part of the equation for her “victory” given what her physical proximity is to her enemies.

      • IslamDownpressesHumanity

If you call endless islamic terrorist attacks against Israel either victory or peace you’re warped.

        • Americana

I’m suggesting that Israel cannot forget there are many ways to win or lose wars. I’m not calling those terrorism attacks anything and I’m certainly not calling them victory or peace… But if Caroline Glick is afraid that just because the U.S. stops flights to Israel for a few days, it’s going to cost Israel too much, then there’s a problem w/Israel’s economic stability in wartime.

          • IslamDownpressesHumanity

What’s economic stability in the face of threats of islamic extermination?

  • Mo86

Antisemitism did not diminish after WW2, but increased. Most people have no idea of the extent of anti-Semitism prior to this war. See http://clarespark.com/2012/09/29/index-to-blogs-on-antisemitism/. “Index to blogs on anti-Semitism.” I especially recommend this one: The ABCs of Antisemitism. I have known liberals who believe that there was philosemitism after the Holocaust but Carey McWilliams thought that it had gotten worse, and he was no fool.

    • UCSPanther

Antisemitism is a psychosis that never really goes away and is a chimera of religious hatred, racial hatred and conspiracy theories.

Antizionism is yet another form of it.

  • liz

“Moral psychosis” is an apt description of what is going on here.
It is also a telling sign that the campaign of Leftist infiltration, agitation and propaganda documented by David Horowitz is alive and well, operating just as it did throughout the 40′s, 50′s, and 60′s.
Just as he and other leftists supported the “Black Panthers” in the 60′s as part of a subversive attempt to destroy the capitalist system, the brainwashed youth of today now align themselves with terrorists in the same ongoing scheme.

  • El Cid

Without strong moral leaders who speak clearly about right and wrong, the sheep go astray. They want blood in the streets! And, “Jews”, whoever these mythic people are, are “civilization’s” invented enemy. Obama is incapable of moral leadership. His equivocation and inaction give permission to these demonstrations.

But, isn’t that what we are here to fix?

  • Armed_Infidel

What gets me are the majority of US jews who support Obama and the anti Israel left. But this perfidy is nothing new.

During the holocaust, US jews didn’t help their european brothers and sisters very much even though they could have. Most of the hollywood studios and radio networks were built by jews, but they did nothing to publicize the horrors in europe out of fear they’d be revealed as jews to an unsuspecting american public. We’re sort of seeing the same thing today.

If we were to count Leftists of Christian background as Christians, Christians would seem self hating. After all you don’t have to go far to see hatred of Christians in Leftist thought.

The Leftist loves to have Jews counted as Leftists. They make it seem that Leftist thought is capable of being accepted by every day people. They say look the Jews of their own volition like Leftism. They are open minded you should be too. Well guess what. Those Leftist Jews are multi generational brainwashed Leftists like the rest. They are Jews by ancestry only. They should be counted as Leftist. Leftists and leftists. Jews are Jews.

Great article. Hamas doesn’t follow Geneva Conventions, they follow the Koran. The lefties that support Hamas and other terrorist groups obviously don’t realize that Muslims are not multiculturalists, they are supremacists. Islam has no use for intellectuals, because Islam is intellectually bankrupt. For them it is far easier to attack Jews, than to ever examine their own trusted beliefs in cultural relativism, and acknowledge that there might just be a problem with immigrant group that is destroying their countries. Godless leftists teaming up with Allah inspired religious zealots who wish to impose an Islamic theocracy makes one shake his head in bewilderment. When the Jews of Europe are gone, where will the leftists and Muslims turn their hatred to? Jews who live in peace and are self reliant contributors to society, are being replaced by millions of freeloading, destructive Muslims, who only know how to sew social discord, crime, intolerance and bigotry. Europeans seem to think this is a great trade off. When the Muslims come for them, and they will, I want to see the dumb look on their faces, as they are lined up for the slaughter. They have made a pact with evil, and evil will be their end.

Why aren’t these same protesters marching against ISIS and the slaughter of Christians in Iraq? Where’s all of the moral outrage against the governments of Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon and Syria for keeping “Palestinians” in internment camps for more than 66 years?
Progressives/Leftists care about the “Palestinian” people about as much as they care about Iraqi’s, Syrians, Nigerians, Afghani’s, Somali’s, or North Koreans. They don’t care.

      • uleaveuswithnoalternative

No, there are internment camps for “Palestinians” but they are all in ISLAMIC countries, the very same Islamic nations where the so called “Palestinians” originally came from.
For more than 66 years, not one of these countries have allowed the “Palestinians” to become citizens in the nations where they’ve lived for 66 years. They are the ONLY group ever designated by the UN to be “permanent refugees, ” a designation they use to discredit and batter Israel.
You’re correct when you say that the Pally’s have 10 story apartment buildings, paved roads, etc.
In fact in 2010, 2 mega shopping malls were opened in Gaza, complete with car dealerships, beauty salons, movie theatres, jewelry stores, etc.
I have no sympathy for the Palestinians. I only mentioned the internment camps because Leftist Jew haters love to bring them up but most of them don’t know that they’re all located in Arab countries.

It sickens me to see non-Muslim civilians siding with Hamas. This makes these Civilians the same Terrorists as Hamas, Al-Qaeda, ISIS and the rest of these Cults. The sooner they learn that Hamas fired their Rockets on Israel from Civilian areas, from Homes, outside Hotels, from Schools and Hospitals, so who is the murderer of Palestinians here. Israel repeatedly informed the Palestinians where and when they would retaliate in order for the Palestinians to leave the area. The fact that Hamas would not let the Palestinians leave, is not Israels problem. These Palestinians do not belong in Israel. They belong in any one of the 27 Arab countries. These Hippocratic Demonstrators are purely Anti-Semitic, where were they when Syria murdered Thousands of their own people. The problem is that too many people hate the Jews, because they are the CHOSEN PEOPLE. Israel is the only Democratic Country in the East. What does Hamas have to offer to the Palestinian people? Progress? Enlightenment? Equality? Freedom? None of these things, and nothing but subjugation, corruption, and bloody murder (see the acts of ISIL in Iraq against people of their own religion). When the forms of society and government offered by Islamofascists are used as a standard against which other nations might assert their “superiority,” this sets the bar incredibly low.

“And the notion that Israel cannot, or should not, retaliate against these rocket attacks until a sufficient number of Israelis has been murdered is equally grotesque.”

Outrage against the disproportionate number of Palestinian casualties (compared to Israeli casualties) is based upon a faulty unstated premise – that a nation under attack by a foreign power has an obligation to allow its citizens to die, rather than to protect them, in order to justify its actions in its self-defense.
