Imam Joe Biden Schools an Infidel

6a00d83451c36069e20168eb9dbef6970cThe courageous ex-Muslim human rights activist Ayaan Hirsi Ali recently recounted that at a speech in Washington not long ago, she met Vice President Joe Biden. Biden seized the opportunity to tell her that “ISIS had nothing to do with Islam.” Hirsi Ali politely disagreed, whereupon Biden began a lesson in the teachings of the Religion of Peace: “Let me tell you one or two things about Islam.”

Unfortunately, Hirsi Ali didn’t hear much of Imam Joe’s Islamic wisdom: “I politely left the conversation at that. I wasn’t used to arguing with vice presidents.”

This wasn’t just Joe being Joe, saying another foolish thing that, if he were a conservative Republican, would have ended his political career in an avalanche of ridicule long ago. For in confronting Hirsi Ali and assuming he knew more about Islam than she does, Biden was reflecting what virtually every policymaker in Washington believes – on both sides of the aisle.

Even though Ayaan Hirsi Ali was raised a Muslim in a Muslim country, and educated in Islam from an extremely early age, and despite the fact that Joe Biden has almost certainly never opened a Qur’an, Biden was sure that what she said about Islam must be wrong – it just had to be. Why? Because her opinion of the religion was negative, and the possibility that such a view could have any merit whatsoever is inconceivable in Washington circles. Those who hold it must be ignorant.

It’s almost certain that Biden would never have confronted Karen Armstrong in a similar way. If Biden is familiar with what Armstrong says about Islam, such as her world-historically ridiculous claim that “Muhammad eventually abjured violence and pursued a daring, inspired policy of non-violence that was worthy of Gandhi,” he would no doubt warmly approve and even applaud. This would not be because Armstrong has done more formal study of Islam than has Hirsi Ali – she hasn’t. Nor would it be because Imam Joe himself made a careful and judicious examination of Islamic texts and teachings, and came to the reasoned conclusion that Armstrong’s representation of Islam was more accurate and true to the ding an sich than Hirsi Ali’s.

On the contrary, Biden would favor Armstrong’s Islam over Hirsi Ali’s solely and wholly because the former confirms his view of the world and appears to bear out what he wishes were true, and the latter does not. This is likewise the stance of all of Biden’s colleagues in the Obama Administration. John Kerry, like Biden, confidently takes a stand on what he believes Islam is all about, based not on any study of his own or anyone else, but on what he wishes is true and hopes is true.

Indeed, on these fantasies are based numerous foreign and domestic policies. The idea that new Israeli concessions will end the Palestinian jihad against Israel and make possible a two-state solution with Israelis and Palestinians living side by side in peace is based on a determined refusal to consider the possibility that the Palestinians really mean the jihadist rhetoric that they pump out endlessly on official Palestinian Authority and Hamas airwaves about destroying Israel utterly.

The idea that stable, secular, Western-oriented republics could ever have been constructed in Afghanistan or Iraq was based on a refusal to confront what Sharia really is and to study the degree to which the populations in both countries were attached to it. Ultimately, the United States oversaw the adoption of Constitutions in both countries that enshrined Sharia as the highest law of the land – something that would never have been done had not Washington policymakers been listening to smooth apologists who assured them that Sharia was benign and completely compatible with republican government and Western principles of human rights.

Those policymakers are still entrenched, despite their abysmal track record. There is no accountability for them, for those who would hold them accountable believe in the same fantasies that led to the policy errors. Joe Biden’s interaction with Ayaan Hirsi Ali played out with dreary predictability: it was inevitable that Biden would think his fantasies and wishful thinking to be defensible, established fact, and unthinkable that he would regard the judgment of a Somali ex-Muslim woman with unconscious ethnocentric and chauvinistic paternalism: she is just wounded by her anomalous experiences, he might have thought to himself, while Joe Biden – Joe Biden! – man of the world, savvy political thinker, diplomat, statesman, and humorist, would gently and affably set her straight, and introduce her to the pluralistic open-mindedness that are the hallmarks of what make us great in the West.

That open-mindedness, that openness to non-Western cultures and people, the linchpin of the multiculturalist imperative, is what Biden and Kerry treasure so much and are trying to protect when they assure the world that Islam is a religion of peace and that those who commit violence in its name are violating its core principles. But even as they preen about their open-mindedness, Biden and Kerry and the rest are actually quite close-minded. When he heard Ayaan Hirsi Ali speak, Biden had an opportunity to hear truths that existed outside of his habits of thought. A truly open-minded person would have adjusted his thinking to fit reality.

Instead, Biden placed himself in the preposterous position of attempting to lecture an ex-Muslim, someone who had once revered the Qur’an and studied it deeply, about the true tenets of Islam. In this latest exercise in making himself ridiculous, Biden is a symbol of the entire Western world, staking its life and future on fantasy and wishful thinking. In response to his foolish nonsense, Ayaan Hirsi Ali was polite. If they ever encounter Biden face to face, those pious believers in Islam who know that what she says about their religion is accurate, and hate her for revealing it, will be substantially less so.

  • Yehuda Levi

Ayaan Hirsi Ali has more courage in her little finger than plagiarist Biden does altogether.

One should never underestimate the ability of this administration of bumbling, inexperienced no-nothings to preach to the rest of us.

Just look at the US State Department briefings on Israel for an example.

    • Well Done

The Obama administration’s support for Islamists and ongoing disdain for Americans isn’t bumbling, inexperience, or ignorance. It’s planned and deliberate. If it were incompetence they would be right once in a while. I don’t even trust them with drone strikes; they may well be eliminating the radical leader’s own enemies. Bet they are in communication with key elements of ISIS. Bet that Islamists ordered this comical “report” on CIA activities from 12 years ago. The existence of the report makes no sense otherwise.

      • PI by Nature

Double-dealing is necessary for the President in international relations. Ayaan Hirsi Ali has no need to double-deal. Different circumstances altogether.

        • billobillo54

You make a great point. However, the end result of the “double-dealing” that you ascribe to the president in international relations has several very negative aspects. One is to weaken our necessary resolve of stopping the immigration of Muslims into the U.S. Another, is the lack of discernment as to the inherent evil of normal, so-called “moderate” Islam, a POLITICAL IDEOLOGY which is completely antithetical and hostile to classic western values of tolerance, limited government, separation of powers, checks and balances, equality under the law, etc.

      • birddog

Well said Well Done,I grow so tired of people attributing Obama’s blunders to ignorance. He knows exactly what he’s doing. He is fundamentally transforming America.

  • romain reuter

A disputation on TV between the intelligent and courageous Hirsi Ali versus gullible Karen Amstrong. That would be a good idea…….or would it not?
Biden made a fool of himself by lecturing Hirsi Ali on islam. The Obama administration takes decisions on what they hope to be true not on what obviously is true. To the detriment of the whole western world that is.
Islam is a threat to the entire non-islamic world, period!

    • Bamaguje

Obama’s case is different from the willful blindness of ignoramuses like Biden and Kerry.
As an ex-Muslim (or covert Muslim), Obama must know the truth about Islam, but deliberately indulges in Taqiyya – Islamic deception.

  • Bamaguje

“Muhammad eventually abjured violence and pursued a daring, inspired policy of non-violence that was worthy of Gandhi” – Karen Armstrong.

Such shameless revisionism. If Ms Armstrong really believes the hogwash she dishes out, why isn’t she a Muslim?

“When he (Biden) heard Ayaan Hirsi Ali speak, Biden had an opportunity to hear truths that existed outside of his habits of thought. A truly open-minded person would have adjusted his thinking to fit reality” – Robert Spencer.

Leftists just can’t handle any truth that gets in the way of their false narratives.
PC/MC Western leaders would have to change their policies on Muslim immigration, Arab-Israeli conflict, war on terror, Iran’s nuclear program and relations with the Muslim world; if they acknowledge the ugly truth about Islam.

That’s just too much to ask, as their whole deluded world would come crashing down. How do they deal with nightmare of one billion potential terrorists called Muslims? So it’s preferable to keep up the Islam-is-peace pretense.

Pretense, because in their hearts of hearts, they must know that there is something inherently evil about a depraved pseudo-religion that is always in the news for the wrong reasons.
With over 24,000 terror attacks since 9/11 (average of 5 every day), it can’t all be coincidence.

Anyone still think that Biden is Obola’s VP by some sort of
freakish oversight on Obola’s part? He was installed to be and do just what he’s doing… being a fool.
When he’s not acting-out, being an utter dolt-in what he says, he goes back to thinking of ‘stuff’. *sigh

  • notme123

    Sad, sad, sad…..

  • pennant8

I agree with Robert’s final point that pious believers in Islam get upset when someone points out facts about Islam that they would prefer to be kept hidden. If you have ever submitted a comment to a liberal blog or media site pointing out things critical of Islam, or read comments by others in the same vein, you might have noticed that these comments usually attract a disproportionate number of “dislikes.” The comment doesn’t get voted down because of its factual content, it gets voted down just for being said.

  • JDsHandsomeSon

On occasion we get to see how truly detached from reality our political class is. These occasions are those when one of them goes off script or finds him/herself cut off from the minders and image makers surrounding them. Biden is a classic example. He’s a sitcom cliche of the bumbling old man in The Office, or any of the other TV shows, that all the young, diverse hipsters have to navigate around to get things done. It’s likely he believes he can fly like bird and given enough encouragement might call a press conference atop the new World Trade Tower to give the world a demonstration of his awesome powers.

It is the same megalomania that has Hillary Clinton going on air and telling everyone, with a straight face, that she too has endured crushing poverty, trying to manage house payments – plural – on a meager $12 Million. She is still shaking her head at any who might find such a statement absurd.

  • Echo2November

Guess ole Joe would be happy to tell the Dali Lama a thing or two about Eastern religions as well.

    • Lightbringer

And how the ChiComs are peaceful and kind-hearted?

  • Atikva

Mr. Biden has lost yet another occasion to shut his trap. Maybe Mrs. Ali could have shot back “Let me tell you one or two things about being a Vice-President under Mr. Obama” – but actually, disdain was all he deserved.

I don’t know what’s worse with these politicians, their crass ignorance or the unfathomable depths of their arrogance.

    • BS77

Good post. Ayaan Hirsi Ali, Brigitte Gabriel, Pam Geller, Ann Coulter should be required reading !!!! But , as M Savage said so often, Liberalism is a mental disorder…and getting through to indoctrinated liberals is not an easy job.

      • BS77

By the way, why is it these courageous women have the brass….where are the American men who will lead us towards a sane society that protects itself and shuts the borders, stops the PC insanity???????

        • Atikva

          Some of these women have
lived the situation that men can only comment or write about (and, as
demonstrated by Mr. Biden, also talk a lot of nonsense about). Their
testimonies are much more powerful than whatever else said or written by
others, whether men or women, as well meaning and documented they may be.

          • BS77

absolutely… Recommended: Read Brigitte Gabriel’s two books…especially They Must be Stopped… which refers to the ISIS /Al Queda/Hamas style mass murderers and vermin on the left who appease them with their ignorance…..Read Ann Coulter’s Demonic…and of course, both books by Ms. Ayaan Hirsi Ali….She knows what she is talking about unlike some of the idiots in the media and government.

        • happytrails5

I think that man would be Col. Allan West.

        • billobillo54

Here’s some great American men who oppose the pc insanity of being welcoming to Islam: Walid Shoebat, Robert Spencer, Raymond Ibrahim, Rep. Louie Golmert, Rep. Tom Rooney, Rev. Robert Jeffers, Daniel Greenfield, Joel Richardson, Perry Stone, Michael Savage, David Horowitz, Dr. Jamie Glazov, Ted Shoebat, Frank Gaffney, Steve Emerson, Bill Oreilly, Sean Hannity, Dennis Prager, Bill Maher (yes, even an atheist)…the list is growing….God bless you Bro…you are on this list….

      • birddog

Not easy? In most cases it’s impossible.

  • James_IIa

Just thinking about the quote from Karen Armstrong. It’s not only wrong, but laughably wrong, of course. It was possible for a religion of peace (Christianity) to arise in a well-governed area in conditions where peace was from time to time a real possibility, thanks to Roman rule. But Muhammad’s system arose in an area in which the culture was much closer to the Hobbesian war of all against all. A truly peaceful religion would have been crushed. (There is room in Islam for peace, I should add, after a successful conquest.)

  • Lanna

Joe has the scoop…..he thinks he knows more than Miss Ali about Islam…its so ridiculous, once again this guy is a real corker.

  • kasandra

Shows what a dope Biden is. An intelligent person would have asked Hirsi Ali for her perspectives on Islam since she, obviously, knows more about it than Biden. Maybe he should have asked, “Is Islam really the religion of peace?” But then he’d actually learn something.

  • Gee

Peace will only come AFTER Islamofascism is treated the same way Nazism was treated in 1945.

  • Rosasolis

Netherlands still remembers Ayaan Hirsi Ali who fleed from the Islamic terrorism
in her native country Somalia, as a young girl. We have always admired her
courage, and supported her after her decision to once again seek refuge in
America, after the cruel murder by Islamist terrorists on Theo van Gogh, who
was making a film about her life and her active opposition to Islamic terrorism
and discrimination to women and girls. What an idiot Joe Bidon is to declare that
“ISIS has nothing to do with the Islam”, and then to tell this woman who bravely
fled from her entire Islamic background, “Let me tell you one or two things about
Islam!” Wisely, Hirsi didn’t go on with any further discussion with this dement
    old codger!

    • cree

Assuming by “wisely,” what good is a discussion with a fool? Biden’s arrogance of his position (which he doesn’t merit) and his closed-mindeness is enough signs of a false leader; he is a figurehead fool.

      • Rosasolis

Would Obama ever have chosen Biden as vice-president,
if he had any talent? Biden was probably chosen because he
would never cause any conflict situation with the Great Dictator
Obama, who would never tolerate any competition from anyone
in his party! I hope that during these last months of Obama’s
rule, that no serious problems occur which would require any
immediate attention from this incapable vice-pres. who probably
is enjoying his large salary and priviledges.

  • PhillipGaley

“her opinion of the religion, . . .”? religion?

C’mon, dudes an’ dudettes, . . . Islam, . . . a religion? M-m-m, . . . I think, I kind of side with those who say that, Islam is a criminal ideology, perpetuated by force and infliction of pain. And look at all the blood-baths which Moslems engage in and perpetuate, the world round, and all of this worsening with every passing day; and, when they can’t fire on Westerners, they fight with each other, . . . for pretended offenses, stonings, acid sloshes mainly against their own women, chopping off of hands and heads, . . . if it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, and smells like a duck, and swims like a duck, you aren’t going to “down” me, are you, if I say it’s a duck? Or, you’re going to tell me that, those bad people aren’t the true Moslems, . . . all the while, the Scripture telling us that, The False Prophet is to be cast into The Lake of Fire, . . .

  • James Foard

I’ll bet Joe could teach the Dalai Lama a thing or two about Buddhism.

  • Fed Up

I think our western leaders’, especially in the US, tendency to ignore and minimize islamic threats is all of a piece with their general, lifelong animus against their own liberal societies. They started out in college waving the flags of our enemies and Little Red Books, have consistently sided with those we’ve been in conflict with over the decades and now cater to and coddle those who would annihilate us. Why? Their societal self-loathing fits in with their sense of superiority over their fellows and because hating one’s own first, most and always is easy, rewarding and most of all, SAFE.

Any joe-six-pack can hate a fire breathing, women enslaving, gay killing, infidel slaying, dhimmi oppressing 7th century weird-beard but to hate one’s countrymen is far more rewarding to their psyches. Only an exquisite discernment can parse the 1001 subtle ways their neighbors, acquaintances and family differ from themselves. Their accents, the clothes they wear, the schools they attended or didn’t, the car they drive, the state or neighborhood they live in, the religion or church they go to and many, many other of the merest degrees of separation from themselves are all fodder for their hate. For them, there is no hate so sweet as hating those around themselves who differ in ways only they can see. And judge.

Further, it’s also safe and profitable. Their inflated delusions notwithstanding, no one in a modern, western liberal democracy, least of all the US, is in any real danger of a midnight knock at the door by secret police or baying mobs of fanatical neighbors because of their expressed hatred of their countrymen. And rewarding? Entire careers in academia, the arts, media and politics are built on it. Indeed, in some quarters one can not advance absent conformity in and fealty to the self-hate.

This dynamic also produces a blind arrogance and condescension regarding the “other” and is more prevalent on the left. When the weird-beard proclaims it is his mission in life to enslave all the world, kill all who resist or die in the trying there are generally two reactions. A conservative looks on, hears and says, “geez, that guy is serious, we’d better prepare to defend ourselves” and goes about it. But a liberal pulls pensively on his chin and ejaculates, “Nahhh, they don’t really mean THAT. No, what he REALLY means is they need more foreign aid or it’s a legacy of colonialism or if we could just do something about those pesky Jews on that little patch of land, then the billion muslims of the world will be ok and peace will reign.”

Who treats the “other” as men like themselves who know their own minds, hold their own convictions and motives and act on them irrespective of what we do or don’t do? And which presumes to speak for the “other”, devalues their motives and convictions and treats the “other” as little children who can only react to the western world? Who takes other men as he finds them and at their word and who superimposes their own world view onto them? It goes without saying that such self-loathing obviates any belief that there is anything left to die for and thus they leave us acutely vulnerable to serious men who do.

And so our liberals now find themselves standing, ala the grinning fool Biden, with the murderous antithesis of everything every liberal ever said he believed in. But what our self-haters don’t get is that it is precisely contemporary liberalism’s obsessions and bugaboos that the weird-beards regard as our gravest, most unforgivable transgressions. Because no matter how much or loudly they proclaim their hatred for their countrymen and their culture the weird-beards always counted them an infidel and the worst of the lot at that. And it’s why I’ve twitted liberals for years, “Hey liberal, they’ll cut your throat first”.

    • Dan Knight

Excellent post Fed Up! You’ve captured the essence of ‘self-loathing’ in a succinct and concise piece. Worthy of blog.

    • Lightbringer

Mr. Fed Up, your posts are always worth reading, but this one is especially good. Might you consider publishing it somewhere, such as at this site or American Thinker? It deserves a larger audience.

(By the way, is that avatar a picture of Edward Teach, aka Blackbeard the Pirate?)

      • Fed Up

Thank you. To do that, I fear, means losing my nom de plume. I used to run a blog under my real name and post at conservative sites likewise. Been doing it since about ’89 or so from way back in the primordial mists of pre-web ANSI BBSs. I was an original member of the dial-up Town Hall BBS which was actually started under the aegis of NR long before they established NRO. And I hosted David Horowitz’s first chat Q&A on CompuServe back around ’93 or so.

And I got a lot of grief for it not the least alienating oversensitive clients. This not being my living and not really caring about credit or accolades I’d rather write in the complete freedom of anonymity where I can say things to the whole world that are increasingly verboten to say out loud. And as part of the bargain with myself I don’t call names, eschew personal battles, make my points and defend my posts as well as I can content that though I may not convert an antagonist I might some of the many more looking on silently.

And yes, that is Blackbeard from an 18th century woodcut. I don’t resemble him in the least and I’m anything but an outlaw but I do fancy myself something of a swashbuckler and his face fit my handle. I’ve had it so long I don’t want to give it up. :)

        Thanks again.

        • Lightbringer

You’re quite welcome. I understand your position, as I am in a similar one. And perhaps of similar vintage; when I was a young software developer and dinosaurs ruled the earth, we had rather primitive tools too. My husband, working at a DOD-affiliated university, had access to the ARPA net, which we thought was really neat.

  • Mick60

Islam gaining a foothold in the United States, a porous Southern border lets in an avalanche of Mexicans and God Knows Who Else, an effeminate military (now getting ready to admit transgendered specimens), a quiet takeover of nuclear installations, and a mounting debt. There’s a revolution on the horizon, folks. Time for psychoanalyzing and complaining about this Marxist cabal (and complicit RINOs) is about over. Boots will be needed on the ground.

  • Atikva

What else did you expect? Why do you think the socialists chose to “improve” the enviable status of Western women instead of aiming at the appalling situation that has been the lot of women in the muslim world for
centuries? The whole rigmarole had nothing to do with women, and everything to do with taxing the other half of the population and taking children away from their mothers so that they may be indoctrinated by the leftist dictators.

Mission accomplished in the western hemisphere, and as far as the socialists and their useful idiots are concerned, Middle East and African women can continue to be abused, tortured, enslaved and murdered, that
    doesn’t concern them.

  • sydchaden

Biden looks like an infidel, he talks like an infidel, and he looks like an infidel. Further, as a non-Muslim, he is an “infidel”.
Some journalist should ask Biden if any Muslims have ever told him that the Quran requires Muslims to kill him, for that reason. Of course, it doesn’t tell them to torture infidells, That would be uncivilized. That’s why beheading is favored.

    • info warrior

Joe Biden calls himself a ‘Christian Zionist’.. is that like a Jew for Jesus?

    • billobillo54

If Biden calls himself a Christian Zionist he certainly does not back that up with action. The most notable “Christian Zionist”: is the Apostle Paul.

    • Forrest Coyne

Joe Biden isn’t a Christian Zionist because he doesn’t spout end-time quackery here and there, so he should stop pretending to be one.

      • billobillo54

“End time quackery” includes this fact: the Bible predicted that the Jews would be destroyed as a nation, scattered throughout the world, hated, persecuted and at the end of the age return to Israel, reestablish the use of their ancient Hebrew language, rebuild the nations cities and agriculture both of which were in ruins and extreme neglect and would be surrounded by enemies that hate and want to destroy them. This is an unprecedented scenario. No ancient or historical nation or people has survived and been restored in even a similar manner. By all normal historical and sociological standards, Jews, like the Aztecs, for example, should have been eradicated as a people, with their language, homeland, religion, institutions, etc. Furthermore, the Bible states that a land for peace deal will be made between the Israelis and their enemies focusing on Jerusalem and Judea (i.e. The West Bank). The Bible predicts that the Israelis will have no international support and will be opposed by most if not all nations. All this would be occurring at a time when the man made actions in the world would be destructive enough to threaten all life on earth. The fact that the Bible is clear that Israel, Judea and Jerusalem would be at the geopolitical epicenter of the world at the end speaks volumes to its credibility.
