You've hit the reason for our optimism on the head... our country and the world have seen worse times... and that Canada was in much worse shape and is dealing with it's issues. It's interesting you mention gun registries. Our fourteen year old is the only one I have interested in firearms and she just took up skeet shooting... I got her a 20 gauge youth side by side which puts her up to her fourth gun... started her on a .22 NA Rimfire revolver when eight and then got her a .38 S&W revolver when she was 12 followed by a Beretta 9mm when I was finally comfortable with her being able handle a magazine and safely remove chambered bullets. Woe be to anyone breaking in with her at home as the girl can shoot. I digress... I'm also optimistic because the Tea Party is still d riving the debate from the right... that is why they are constantly attacked and accused of being irrelevant. I hope that we can get enough people to understand that when the government gives money away to buy votes that money was taken from someone else... and there is no moral authority to theft by government. We should be helping the truly needy and not be training people into dependency to keep liberals in power.

Things have definatly improved in Canada. We got rid of the hate speech laws & a Gun registry. People went to court , some to jail. It took bloggers by the 100,000s. Many letters to our Leaders both federaly & Provincally. People stopped donating to political parties. Plus an assult on the media to do it. We won though. Kicking out the athoritarians in the USA like here, should be a cake walk with the tools you have in your Constitution. Better to be an optimist, but prepare for the worse. Human nature is so fickle. These are such troubling times. But hey we have had worse periods.

No courage. Here's where you might think we're nuts... but my wife and I are eternal optimists and there are enough people in the world who have their heads screwed on straight that when we, as a nation, hit rock bottom it can be fixed. Heck... Canadians seem to be seeing the light as you've elected more conservative governments lately. Same is happening in parts of Europe. Here's hoping there's enough of us left to solve the problems the left are creating.

Seriously... thank you for the kind words. Just two things I'd like to address... I hope to God my wife and I aren't rare in this world as we've always made the daughters (14, 16, and 19) our priority. What we've been able to do so far successfully, I think, is keep them grounded. All three are athletes but even the 14 year old has a part time job (got her work permit on her 14th birthday) and grades come first. We want them to understand there is more dignity in being self sufficient than being trained into dependency on the government. The negative of self employment is we're fully accountable but the positive is we're comfortable with it... and the young ladies have all helped and know what we put into it. Everything you've heard about California isn't exagger ated. W e wouldn't have bothered to try and make it there with their regulatory climate and tax structure. If you ever get a little bored Google "California small business failure rate" and "California business emigration". I haven't looked at either for a while but I'm confident both numbers will still be shocking. California is in big trouble but I will say even if BC is a political mess like CA, Victoria is one of the neatest places I've ever been... it's like San Francisco without the vagrants and stench of urine. Beautiful place with wonderful people (Victoria). CA is the example of what liberalism is capable of. You have a dwindling middle class, major municipal debt, all of the major cities have horrific ghettos, state has punitive tax rates for businesses and anyone making any kind of money driving many out. It's a beautiful state but a socialist mess. God bless you as well and you are right... people who show up to work every day, do their best when they get the re, and care about what they do are gold and there will always be a place for them.

Everything you've heard about California isn't exaggerated. We wouldn't have bothered to try and make it there with their regulatory climate and tax structure.
God bless you as well and you are right... people who show up to work every day, do their best when they get there, and care about what they do are gold and there will always be a place for them.

The first and foremost requirement of Islam is that all Muslims must totally, completely, and unconditionally submit to the “will of Allah” under the penalty of death for apostasy and blasphemy. Thus, that begs the question: what exactly is the “will of Allah” that all Muslims must totally, completely, and unconditionally submit to under the penalty of death for apostasy and blasphemy? In essence, it is Sharia, which is Islamic totalitarian law, and Sharia is extremely draconian relative to our modern day laws since it is the product of a megalomaniac who also happened to be a 7th century barbarian.

Moreover, according to Islam, Sharia emanates directly from Allah and is therefore perfect and absolutely just, and because Sharia is divine it therefore supersedes all laws created by man. Hence, the worldwide global jihad to make Islam supreme throughout the world via the eventual imposition of Sharia (Islamic totalitarian law).

Thus, all Muslims in the world are Sharia compliant Muslims. Otherwise, they would be executed for apostasy and blasphemy, per their total, complete, and unconditional submission to the “will of Allah” under the penalty of death for apostasy and blasphemy.

Therefore, every time our government enables a Muslim to migrate to America, at the same time it is also importing more and more Sharia into the country. Not to mention as well, that Muslims never ever assimilate and integrate into becoming productive and contributing American citizens because assimilating and integrating into an infidel society would be extremely blasphemous for a Muslim, and blasphemy in Islam is a capital offense.

Thus, if Muslims aren’t migrating to America to assimilate and integrate into American infidel society, then why are they migrating to America in the first place? It’s because mass Muslim immigration to America with all of its excess baggage and elsewhere in the infidel world is really non-violent stealth and deceptive jihad for the nefarious purposes of mass Muslim infiltration throughout our society and for eventual demographic conquest.

John Simpson a well respected journalist speaking about a report he submitted for the BBC said that he quoted the leader of Boko as saying "I enjoy killing the people my god tells me to kill like I enjoy killing goats and chickens" the BBC for reasons known unto themselves cut that bit out. There can be only two reasons for this ,(a) they don't want to hurt the feelings of the Boko leader or more likely (b) after toeing the line that Mohamed was a peace loving prophet they don't want people to find out the truth about Islam.
Self censorship in regards to Islam is a speciality of the Marxist BBC.

These threads are my downtime hobby when I'm not doing something important like doing things with our daughters

That puts you in a special group of people these days who care for thier children, not the government . Shows charcter in my opinion. If not a rare sign of real manhood these days.

Owning your own company where I live is tantamount to being a hero. "That guy is a good worker" is the highest accolade you can earn here. As for your lucidy have no worries there. I don't up tick peoples posts often, your's I did because it was one of the best. I pray your buisness is blessed. Personally when buying any thing any more. I pick a small buisness over a larger one every time. In Alberta Walmarts are disapearing from lack of use ( Than again in this place, even with a grade nine education you can make 100k a year in the Oil patch. We literally have an unground ocean of it.) I work for the parks department in Edmonton. Love the job.
Hearing all the crazy stories coming out of Calfornia , I'm curious is it really than bad for a dude to live there now with all the regulations? You know how the Media is. Why tell the truth when a lie will do. Though I figure if its anything like BC ( lotus land), its in big trouble. I loved the South when I've visited the States. Texas was like coming home. Only like here in the 60s -70s God Bless with good health for you & yours.
