How Many Americans Will Die Because of the Bergdahl Trade?

berg88As Time Magazine reported this week, “Asked whether the Taliban would be inspired by the exchange to kidnap others, a commander laughed. “Definitely.”

Once again, President Barack Obama has shown why he is a horrible President. A weak, impotent American president. Here are some quotes that are important to share in regards to just how awful this deal was for America:

“Swapping Bergdahl for illegal enemy combatants (terrorists, in common parlance) signaled unmistakably to Taliban and al Qaeda that Obama is determined to withdraw from Afghanistan no matter what the cost to the United States or those in Afghanistan fighting to remain free.” — John Bolton

“We all must be mindful that the United States has diplomatic, civilian, and military personnel deployed in other countries with both challenging security environments and active terrorist networks interested in targeting not just our facilities but our people. One of their greatest protections – knowing that the United States does not negotiate with terrorists – has been compromised.” — John Boehner

“I fear that the administration’s decision to negotiate with the Taliban for Sgt. Bergdahl’s release could encourage future terrorist kidnappings of Americans.” — U.S. Senator for Florida, Marco Rubio

“If you negotiate here, you’ve sent a message to every al Qaeda group in the world – by the way, some who are holding U.S. hostages today – that there is some value now in that hostage in a way that they didn’t have before.” — Mike Rogers

“By releasing these five top Taliban commanders, the U.S. is demonstrating that it is throwing in the towel in the long struggle against the Taliban and its al-Qaeda allies in Afghanistan.” — Jonathan S. Tobin

“This is an example of a signing statement where the President is taking power for himself that the law didn’t give him.” — Jeffrey Toobin

“While not as well known as Guantanamo inmates like 9-11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the Taliban 5 were some of the worst outlaws in the U.S. war on terror. And their release will end up replenishing the diminished leadership ranks of the Afghan Taliban at a moment when the United States is winding down the war there.” — Eli Lake, Josh Rogin

“The idea that we’re now making trades, what does that do for every single soldier stationed abroad? It says the reason why the U.S. has had the policy for decades of not negotiating with terrorists is because once you start doing it, every other terrorist has an incentive to capture more soldiers.” — Senator Ted Cruz

“One was the deputy minister of intelligence for the Taliban. One was the deputy minister of defense for the Taliban. These are no local level individuals. These are leaders and this is serious to put them back on the street.” — James Lankford

“At least when Israel releases terrorists to gain the freedom of one of its soldiers, the country’s leaders have the grace to treat the decision as a regrettable action made out of necessity and nothing to celebrate.” — Jonathan S. Tobin

“It’s very interesting to me that they would be willing to release five extraordinarily dangerous Taliban members in exchange for this soldier who apparently left his post.” — Senator Susan Collins

“We have now set a price. We have a changing footprint in Afghanistan which would put our soldiers at risk for this notion that ‘If I can get one, I can get five Taliban released.” — Mike Rogers

“Radical Islamists are serious about killing in pursuit of their extreme objectives. Releasing their soldiers can only embolden them to take more Americans hostage. The deal for Sgt. Bergdahl may well turn out to have been a bargain with the devil.”– Cal Thomas

“If it was an isolated incident, then maybe you could just say, ‘Oh, this was an emergency situation.’ But what you have is a pattern of the administration ignoring the law, whether it’s health care, immigration or now national security. And obviously those sorts of patterns undermine our system of government.” — Rep. Mac Thornberry

“America has maintained a prohibition on negotiating with terrorists for good reason.” — James Inhofe

“Shame on the Obama administration for this “prisoner exchange.” It is sad that a U.S. soldier was a hostage for five years in the hands of the Taliban, but releasing five Taliban is wrong. These people will likely kill more of our troops, and this deal will encourage more hostage-taking.” — Sassan K. Darian

“Mr. Obama is more willing to negotiate with the Taliban than Congress.” — Joseph Curl

When congress members, no matter what their parties are, just pay lip services while Hussein unprecedentedly grabbing legislature power, they are giving up their constitutional granted power and responsibility, in no time they will become irrelevant and useless. It’s time for them to wake up if they want to stay relevant.

      They aren’t already?

Putting the notorious Taliban Five back in the senior ranks of the top terror groups planning attacks against the continental USA has to be most treasonous act by any President ever. This WILL result in high value mass casualty attacks on the USA. The US regime should just cut to the chase; why outsource the bombing of US cities? The White House should just have done with it and order bombing runs on half a dozen US cities over the next couple years. At least then there wouldn’t be the stress of waiting for the inevitable attacks. Thanks, Obama!

    • fiddler

Remember when the “media” was keeping a constant tally of the American casualties in the Afghan war and the Iraq war? Do you think we will hear ANY thing of the sort when these emancipated thugs kill Americans or other innocent nationals? Nope!

Not really. Just repeating the facts. Did you think they opened the gates and said “shoo, you’re all free. Go where you like. Enjoy”?

Oh Lord, what will it take for the pansies in the Congress and Senate to put the wrench on this nut.

    • BS77

It’s not just the Congress…but the Liberal Media which has become the Propaganda Outlet and official SHILL for the Democrats . This deal was a betrayal of our men and women in uniform, those who have sacrificed their lives in Iraq and Afghanistan…..many who did not die have been maimed for life, only to witness a deserter and likely collaborator (who has now been upgraded to “victim” status by the Orwellian media engineers) traded for five mass murderers, the most evil Taliban killers. These five are thugs who have directed the slaughter of thousands of Afghans, and set the IEDs that have killed and wounded so many Afghans and Americans…….but you don’t want to know about that, do you, moron, dumb American idiot voters? Hard to believe this is the same country that fought WW II,

Oh, one more thing, please contribute to our wounded troops….wounded warriors, paralyzed veterans

If and when any one of them were to lose one of their own sons/daughters because of the result of this scandal, or any other as far as that goes, then they might think twice and start to demand action.

There is only one thing Obama can do to redeem himself (besides the obvious resignation that he won’t consider.) Kill the 5 via drones as soon as they land on foreign soil.

  • Rosasolis

The exchange of the deserter Bergdahl, for the release of 5 extreme Jihad
terrorists, is the most cowardly act of the CURRENT American government,
I have heard of! When these terrorists are freed, they will put all kinds of
nightmare plans into working. Starting with the recruit of many young unemployed,
uneducated teeners throughout North-America and Europe for the further
spreading of the Jihad attacks. Our entire Western Civilization is now more than ever at risk of being attacked in every city and village…everywhere.
And just a few weeks ago Obama and Kerry were giving Hysterical speeches
about “the threat of Russian Aggression!”
Obama has gone berserk, and has now opened the door to the Islam terrorists
to carry on with their plans to take-over the whole world…(as written in the Koran)!
‘Trying to impeach Obama will be such a long, hard battle because he will have
lots of support and piles of money to defend himself,
The way to get rid of this madman, is to bring his government to fall. This is
what happens in Europe! When you can produce enough evidence that an
entire government is corrupt and has failed, then you can produce a
motion of distrust. If you have enough legal support, and support from the people, they will have to resign, including their Mad Leader. Where there is a Will, there is a Way.
Recently, this is how Italy got rid of its corrupt leader Berlesconi.
He is now serving coffee, tea, and cake to disabled people in nursing homes.

What is truly sad is that there is not enormous outrage from the American people on this. There is not great outrage because too many Leftists feel the same way about America that this deserter felt. There also such a large percentage of citizens getting something from the government that its continuation is their only concern. What was that Romney (a horrible candidate) said about 47% of the people? I am truly saddened by what America has become and is. Furthermore, I see no end in sight, things only getting worse.

    • goaheadandmakeme

The State run media is compliant with Obamao. They don’t report on it therefore it’s not happening. They’ve been treasonous to the responsibility of Gov. Watch Dogs. They can tell all about American idol though.
Yup. I’m afraid we’ve reached the liberal goal. They’ve created too many stupid people for us to retain our freedom.

    • BagLady

Perhaps the American people have more pressing issues on their mind than a bunch of unknown blokes in a far away land who never did them any personal harm. Unlike, say the mortgage companies.

The only difference between Obama and Hitler is that Hitler had a moustash. Otherwise, Obama is the same horrible little bastard. Wake up, America, and impeach that bum! You deserve better. The world deserves better.

Once again, our worst enemy is the president of the United States!

The better question is how many Americans have died for the mistaken idea that Islam is a religion of peace? Not even Muslims think that.

Guantanamo made sense only if Islamic terrorism represented a hijacking of Islam by a few bad apples. Unfortunately, that is not the case. Muslim demonstrators worldwide made that point absolutely clear on September 11, 2012 by chanting ‘Obama, Obama, We’re All Osama” as our diplomats were being slaughtered in Benghazi by the very rebels we had assisted in overthrowing Muamar Gadaffi.

The truth of the matter is that our entire response to Islamic terrorism has been misinformed and misguided from the very beginning, and Guantanamo is merely evidence of that.

to learn why Bo Bergdahl should HATE President Obama.

  • Syd Chaden

Just think. We just celebrated the anniversary of D-Day, and the invasion of Normandy. If all American military personnel had emulated Bergdahl, on D-Day, then there would have been no invasion of Normandy, because the entire US military would have gone AWOL, and Nazi Germany would rule Europe. And, of course, if all American military personnel had emulated Bergdahl, Japan would have been victorious in WWII, and would rule all of Asia and the South Pacific, including Hawaii.

And, if all US military emulated Bergdahl, today, and went AWOL, the US would be defenseless against those who wished to harm it. Such as, Al Queda, Hamas, Hezbollah, Islamic Jihad, the Muslim Brotherhood, and the Taliban.
    And, of course, Putin.

If all Muslim prisoners were traded for the AWOL military personnel, They could return to their quest to conquer the world for Islam. And, wherever those Islamic
groups were returned to power, no girls could be educated, no theaters would be allowed, no music could be played.

And, there would be rule by the Shariah. No religion could be practiced, other than Islam, and, since the Shariah prescribes Islamic doctrine as law, practice of Islam would be mandatory. The punishment for being an “infidel”, a
non-believer in Islam, would be death. The punishment for apostasy, leaving Islam for another religion, would be death. The punishment for committing
blasphemy, saying or writing anything considered derogatory toward Islam, would be death. Women who are accused of adultery would be stoned, to death. Women could be beaten by their husbands as their husbands considered appropriate. The punishment for homosexual behavior would be death.

The American military did not emulate Bergdahl on D-Day, and we won WWII. And, the American military has not emulated Bergdahl today, and has not gone AWOL. But, the Taliban are being released from prison, and apparently, so will others who seek to impose Shariah rule over the world. Hopefully, the US military will continue to not emulate Bergdahl, and, hopefully, those who wish to impose the Shariah will not be permitted to do so.

Because, freedom from rule by the Shariah, freedom from being forced to
observe Islam, freedom for women from unbelievable oppression, all are at

Strange, then that these high level ministers were unknown to Colonel Morris Davis – retired chief military prosecutor, Gitmo.

As for Obama acting without Congress permission, I’d turn your attention to the Bush administration and a memo written by Jay Bybee for Bush that said, “anything Congress does that infringes on the president’s unfettered power as commander-in-chief is unconstitutional”

Obama promised to close Guantanamo, so it seems logical that he will empty it first.
