Will Obama fight as hard for persecuted Christians as he did for the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, or giving iran 20 billion dollars to complete its acquisition of nuclear weapons? Or how about his dedication to all things gay? I think we all know the answer.

Fighting for the State Department to have a permanent position? What is the man or woman with this position going to do? Decry violence at embassy hosted dinners? Will he make a strong statement between appetizer and entree? Will we really get tough and delay the main course while the envoy denounces anti-Christian violence. Ask Israel how effective this is.

This needs to be an in issue in national elections to have any meaning.

I'm assuming that the person nominated for such a post will be nominally a Christian, but probably an agnostic, at best. He will decry the continuing violence against all people, mention Christians hardly at all, mention Islam never, and receive the Nobel Peace Prize.

If religious persecution simply means "government/ruling party-sanctioned pressure to discourage the practice of one's chosen religion," then there will never be an American position created for a Christian persecution monitor. Not only would that monitor have to call out ALL of the Muslim-dominated countries (because there is no such thing as a "moderate" or "tolerant" Muslim country when it comes to the practice of any religion other than Islam), economic allies, such as China, would also have to be called out. With as much irrefutable evidence as there is condemning the Obama administration for emboldening the persecutors of Christians around the world, particularly in the Middle East in ALL Muslim countries, it's ill-advised to assume that any other administration would do much more than cluck its tongue at the Muslims (or the communists or the fascists or the dictators or the monarchs) who refuse to allow people to express their religious freedom.
