This article somehow tries to push forward a theory that due to America's generosity and guidance India's economic rise was possible. That is simply not the case. India's rise is the result of hard work, entrepreneurship and sheer grit of a large number of educated young people and unshackling their creative energy by means of economic liberalization.

There is no doubt that America is an inspiration for every great power in the world. However a lot of factors are responsible for India's current growth. Simply speaking India's important position on the globe and cordial relationship with a large number of economic powers is also the reason behind India's success. In many cases America has tried to stall the rise of BRICS countries through the use of WTO IMf and myriad other hegemonic institutions.

The last point is correct. India should focus on economic growth and large scale manufacturing to keep growing on world stage.

World's largest democracy?

Do not forget that India aligned itself with the USSR and established a socialist government which was and which remains antagonistic to the US to this day.

Do not forget the dalits, chamars and untouchables and "scheduled castes".

Do not forget the millions of illiterates and the sparsity of even minimal healthcare.

These are just the tips of many icebergs.

With millions unemployed and unemployable here in the US, including among them and especially in the IT sector, coupled with rampant H1-B visa abuse, India and Indians garner and deserve no sympathy.

With harsh land ownership restrictions imposed on non-Indians, with strict regulation of employment of non-nationals and with very limited employment opportunities for them and with a culture of pervasive and endemic nepotism in employment and in government affairs...Indian "democracy" is a cruel joke.

Indians come begging hat-in-hand, currying favors in employment and elsewhere - but once they become established and acquire power - which they raise to the level of an art form, they look after their own, shamelessly and nearly exclusively.

There is no more xenophobic, no more color-conscious and discriminatory group on the face of the earth.

With several recent high-profile scandals and successful prosecutions of Indians in the US, we have more than enough Ravans and rakshasas.

Thank you very much.

Stay home!
Your work is cut out for you!
Educate your uneducated masses!
Take care of their medical needs!
Pass the Odisha Lokayukta Anti-Graft Bill 2014!

With all due respect, however little that might be...

Spare us your hypocritical, disingenuous and blatantly one-sided plaint
.
Losing India?

Get lost!
