The price blacks have to pay for straying from the Progressive Party Line.

I believe in giving credit where credit is due, and I’ve got to hand it to the Left – they are gifted moralizers. Nobody can put on a sanctimonious soapboxing spectacle like a Progressive Leftist. Do you believe, for whatever reason, that marriage is between one man and one woman? Then you’re a homophobe. Do you believe that men are generally taller and have larger biceps than women? Then you’re a sexist. Do you believe that people who move to America ought to come here legally and become American? Then you’re a nativist. Do you believe that 16 years of global temperature stability might mean that global warming isn’t actually happening? Then you’re a flat-earther. And, of course, if you disagree about any given issue with a Progressive, you’re a racist. Yep, they have all sorts of fancy words to describe how you don’t agree with them, and they use them all – a lot.

But where the Left excels at preaching and condescension, they fall a bit short when it comes to self-awareness. So convinced are they of their moral superiority that they fail to recognize their own flaws, and, dare I say, silly racism. A famous and wise Jew once said, “Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?” Last week has revealed so many logs in so many eyes, you’d think the Left was planning on building a cabin – or a lodge.

After the Supreme Court ruled that it was no longer 1950 in the South and so southern states should not be treated as if it were, Democrat Minnesota State Rep. Ryan Winkler referred to Justice Clarence Thomas as an “Uncle Thomas,” presumably to suggest that Justice Thomas was little more than an obsequious and deferential slave, eager to please his evil White masters. Witty! Winkler, a Harvard graduate, later claimed that he did not understand the term to be a racist one – but, gosh, if people were offended by his choice of words, well then he sure was sorry for that.

During the George Zimmerman trial, we learned that Trayvon Martin referred to him as “a creepy-ass cracker” before he and the controversial White Hispanic got into a fight over Martin’s bag of Skittles. We also learned that cracker is not a racist term. Tamron Hall from MSNBC explained that cracker is certainly a pejorative, but not necessarily a racial slur – you know, like jerk or meanie. I suppose that cracker isn’t considered a racial slur because then we might have to call it the “C-word,” and that might get confusing.

And then, to top it all off, Alec Baldwin had yet another low-blood-sugar-moment last week and tweeted – to the planet – that he was going to “track down” and “f**k up” some “toxic little queen” who wrote something about his wife that nobody cares about anyway. Baldwin, predictably, has cancelled his Twitter account (again). Capital One, predictably, has not cancelled Baldwin’s contract. Why? Because toxic little queen isn’t homophobic, per se, it’s just angry Baldwin-talk. As it turns out, the only thing the Left is more gifted at than moralizing is circling the wagons when it comes to protecting one of their own from their own insane thought-crime standards. In the meantime, Paula Deen has been scheduled for beheading by Nancy Pelosi for something she uttered during the Reagan administration.

Up is down. One is Four. Cracker is not a racist term. Red is blue. Day is night. Uncle Thomas is not a racist term. Death is hilarious. Water is sand. Toxic little queen means “I Love Gays!” Welcome to 2013, where language means whatever the heck the Left says it means because they say so and shut up or we’re sicking the IRS on you.

It’s all very sad. The very idea of a “race traitor” seems so outdated – at least to people who do not view the world through the prism of race. Among Whites (except among the goofball White Supremacist fringe), the idea of race betrayal died with Jim Crow – something last week’s Supreme Court ruling recognized. In the world of the Progressive Left, however, only Blacks can be race traitors – and how, you may ask, does a Black person reveal their race betrayal? By disagreeing with the Progressive Left. You’ve got to admit, it’s a handy setup they’ve got going. Among the Democratic base, White liberals like Ryan Winkler are in charge of telling Blacks how and what to think – and if they stray a bit from their prescribed politics, they become an Uncle Thomas.

Or, perhaps better, a toxic little Cracker Lover.

Deny a film exposure and then mock it for not having exposure.

As the director of Hating Breitbart, which was released nationwide in theaters and digitally on May 17th, I spend a lot of time on Twitter trying to get the word out. It’s not about the money – I have no illusions about the commercial appeal of political documentaries, but the message of the film is extraordinarily important. It is particularly germane now that the IRS is targeting political dissenters and organizations and the DOJ is spying on the press. Usually when a film is released, there is an entire publicity machine that goes into action to ensure that as many people know about the film as possible, but not so much with Hating Breitbart.

It’s not that I don’t have a good marketing team – I do. In fact, I have an amazing marketing team – I even have two publicists who regularly book their clients on Good Morning America, Piers Morgan Tonight, The Today Show, and other big shows that reach millions of viewers. Funny thing is, they can’t seem to book me on any of the big shows, despite the fact that my film is being released from coast to coast.

In fact, it’s been extremely difficult to get mainstream media outlets to help us spread the word, and the ones that are talking about it are doing everything they can to discredit the picture – this isn’t exactly surprising, given that Hating Breitbart is, ultimately, a devastating indictment of mainstream media malfeasance. That’s why I spend so much time on Twitter – so I can compensate, in some small way, for the overwhelming institutional resistance to our film.

So you can imagine my utter lack of surprise when Lizz Winstead, co-creator of The Daily Show, showed up on my Twitter page to trash talk the film – shocker. In case you follow these things, this is the same Lizz Winstead who tweeted “This tornado is in Oklahoma so clearly it has been ordered to only target conservatives.” She’s a real humanitarian, Ms. Winstead, and funny, too. In any event, and for the sake of full context, before Ms. Winstead began gleefully tweeting about dead children in a Red State, I had sent out a tweet encouraging people to review the film on iTunes and Amazon to counterbalance the effort to snuff the film out. Ms. Winstead, in response, chimed in:

Dude. Who even knows abt this to suppress it?

I won’t bore you with the back and forth – Twitter is far more compelling in real time than in retrospect. Ms. Winstead eventually concluded with, “Or maybe, just maybe people just don’t want to see a film that pays tribute to Breitbart.”

That would be a fair enough point, except that there’s a twist to this story, like all good stories. As it turns out, our publicists reached out to The Daily Show on three separate occasions. We were told, essentially, “Thank you for your interest in our show, but hell no.” Ms. Winstead and her friends might argue, I suppose, that was because our production quality sucked and our content wasn’t compelling – so why would they want to degrade their show with our mediocre crapumentary?

Except, again, as it turns out, that three years ago, on March 31st of 2010, The Daily Show broadcast, for profit, footage that I had shot during the production of….yes, you guessed it: Hating Breitbart. In fact, Andrew Breitbart, the person that Lizz Winstead believes nobody wants to see, appears twice (without credit) and is featured prominently in the footage they broadcast. And so, it would seem, that our content is just fine for borrowing, but not good enough for promoting.

So that, Ms. Winstead, to address your question, is how you suppress a film. You deny it exposure, and then you mock it for not having exposure. Classy. Almost as classy as mocking the dead children of probable conservatives.

Ms. Winstead may not believe that people “want to see a film that pays tribute to Breitbart,” but her tweets about Oklahoma precisely demonstrate why Andrew Breitbart’s message was and is so important – because Breitbart passionately rallied against a media culture that has perpetually caricatured conservatives as racist, sexist, homophobic, intolerant, bigoted monsters. It is only within an environment where Conservatives are so radically dehumanized that a supposed liberal like Lizz Winstead could even think for a moment that it’s acceptable to glibly tweet about such horrific destruction and suffering. The media culture that has provided fertile ground for such callousness is what Andrew Breitbart dedicated his life to changing. Within the span of 48 hours, Lizz Winstead went from mocking our film to proving its thesis.

The Unholy Alliance believes it has an electoral mandate too.

The institutional left and their progressive media organs have been busy weaving the narrative that President Obama’s re-election is a mandate to raise taxes. Republicans in Congress have been busy acquiescing to this narrative and it looks like all of that bipartisan busy work is going to pay off and taxes are going up. As someone famous once said, “Elections have consequences.”

If one of the consequences of the President’s re-election is the Tax Mandate, surely there are other mandates to be spun.

And as if on schedule, the events of recent weeks in Israel reveal another consequence of President Obama’s re-election, the Progressive Foreign Policy Mandate – the Mideast chapter.

Under this manufactured mandate, the Muslim Brotherhood is being spun as a legitimate and responsible steward of calm between Hamas and Israel. It shouldn’t be surprising that the Brotherhood could exert such substantial influence over Hamas given Article 2 of the Hamas charter, which reads, “The Islamic Resistance Movement [Hamas] is one of the wings of Moslem Brotherhood in Palestine.”

Early in President Obama’s first term, and throughout the following years, the White House made public overtures to the Brotherhood in general, and Islamist Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi specifically. Brotherhood members were reportedly invited to attend Obama’s landmark 2009 speech in Cairo. No word if celebrity Brotherhood member Ayman al-Zawahiri was in attendance. Al-Zawahiri has been described by Bin Laden’s biographer as the “real brains” of al-Qaeda.

In July of 2012, the White House invited Morsi to conduct an official state visit in DC. Tellingly, this visit had to be postponed due to the Egyptian government’s role in allowing the US embassy to be occupied by Islamists who raised the al-Qaida flag above our territory on the anniversary of 9/11.

In spite of his shocking dictatorial power grab, Morsi and the Brotherhood have had legitimacy conferred on them by the United States and those who participate in the kabuki theatrics of a so-called peace process, which is, in fact, controlled in part by the parent organization of Hamas.

Andrew Breitbart saw this all coming. That’s why in the Summer of 2010 while in production for Hating Breitbart, Andrew donned his rollerblades and weaved in and out of valet car parkers and attendees of a posh Democratic Party fundraiser for Jerry Brown’s campaign for governor, shouting “Smile! You Support Hamas!”

The venue for the Brown fundraiser was the home of one of President Obama’s top financial bundlers, Jodie Evans. Evans is co-founder of the radical Progressive activist group CodePink. CodePink and their parent organization, Global Exchange, were among the lead organizers of the flotilla movement. The Flotilla organized a group of extremist activists and terrorists who conspired to challenge Israel’s blockade of Hamas controlled Gaza.

Despite the shocking political activism of Evans and CodePink, Andrew knew that the people he was shouting at had no idea what he was talking about when he exclaimed “Smile! You Support Hamas!” The average attendee to this fundraiser, many of whom were elderly wealthy Jews, had no idea who CodePink was, let alone their role in the flotilla movement. But that was Andrew’s point.

If the mainstream media had been doing its job, it would have been easy to connect the dots. The voting public would have been informed that Jerry Brown was holding a fundraiser with an organization responsible for giving aid and comfort to terrorist-controlled Gaza.

The elderly wealthy Jews in attendance at the Brown fundraiser can reasonably debate the merits of supporting such a group and its mission, but not if they are never given the benefit of the basic facts. Andrew wasn’t outraged at the attendees of the fundraiser, he was outraged for them!

For those of us who keep an eye on these things, it wasn’t surprising to see CodePink actively take part in the Arab Spring revolts in Egypt. They prominently posted pictures of themselves organizing protesters on their Flickr page.

CodePink and the Obama administration are conspicuously silent on Egyptian President Morsi’s dictatorial power grab. That’s the smart move if you don’t want to alienate an ally you’ve been courting for years, even when they openly begin acting like the tyrants they profess to be.

Yes, the progressive movement has been cultivating a working relationship with the Muslim Brotherhood for a very long time. The President’s re-election represents a mandate for this progressive foreign policy to continue and grow. And it will.

Elections do have consequences. Smile! You support Hamas!
