The Hamas representative in the Israeli Knesset.

In yet another story which the world’s mainstream media will ignore, an Israeli Arab Knesset member complained to the police about a right-wing Likud Knesset member, Danny Danon, making a video condemning her. Watch the video here

The Arab MK, Hanin Zoabi, openly opposes the State of Israel, supports Hamas, and a few months ago published an article on Hamas’s website encouraging an Islamist uprising against the Jewish state, encouraging Arab countries to help stoke a “popular uprising” against Israel, halt security coordination with the Palestinian Authority (PA) police in Judea and Samaria, and lay siege to the region. She put the word “Israel” in quotation marks throughout the article, and said: [. . .] we must besiege ‘Israel’ instead of negotiating with it.” Zoabi has said Israel has “no right to a normal life” and Israel should “thank her” for allowing Jews to live in the Jewish State.

Recently, she defended the kidnapping of three Israeli teens, stating that the abduction was a “legitimate” way to “fight the occupation.” She has met Hamas officials, calls the Jewish State a racist notion, and has walked out of the Knesset during the singing of the national anthem. This woman has made statements claiming that the Israel Defense Forces are a greater danger than the possibility of Iranian nuclear weapons, and denied that Palestinians kidnapping Israeli civilians are terrorists.

However, she complained that Danon was committing incitement for releasing a video where he is depicted as a sheriff who locks her up for supporting terrorists. Zoabi complains about incitement? As Danon rightfully said in response, “A person who serves as the Hamas representative in the Israeli Knesset should be sitting in jail and not preaching on the subject of incitement and freedom of expression.”

Imagine a member of Congress praising Al-Qaeda? Absurd. Yet, worldwide Israel is spoken of terribly. The emperor has no clothes.

The greatest media enemies of Israel exposed.

Burson-Marsteller – one of the world’s largest PR firms – who refused to represent Israel, yet accepted Muslim Brotherhood as a client recently issued its annual Twiplomacy study. As they explain the study, “World leaders vie for attention, connections and followers on Twitter.” Social media of course continues to grow worldwide.

To no surprise, their study basically reveals that Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is a world leader with a very keen understanding of how media and influence works. Some years ago, Prime Minister Netanyahu reportedly said in an interview that the two main enemies facing Israel are The New York Times and Israeli newspaper Haaretz. “They set the agenda for an anti-Israel campaign all over the world. Journalists read these publications every morning and base their news stories … on what they read in the New York Times and Haaretz.”

Indeed, the “Twiplomacy study” revealed that for world leaders, The New York Times is the single most popular news source on Twitter – and Haaretz is the most-followed Israeli news source on Twitter amongst world leaders. Both of these media outlets are virulently opposed to Israel’s policies.

The journalists most followed by world-leaders should also be concerning to Israel supporters. The most-followed journalist by world leaders is CNN anchor Christiane Amanpour, whom many consider virulenty anti-Israel. Glenn Beck has called Amanpour “anti-Western,” “anti-Jew” and media watchdog organization CAMERA has called her a “frequent Israel basher.”

The 2nd most-followed journalist by world leaders on Twitter goes to another CNN anchor, Fareed Zakaria, who last year asked the Israeli Ambassador to the United States why Israel needs to be a Jewish state. Rounding out the top 5 comes NYT Columnists #3 Nicholas Kristof, #4 Paul Krugman (who has written that the policies of the current “narrow minded” Israeli government “are basically a gradual long-run form of national suicide”), and perpetual Anti-Israel critic Uncle Tom Friedman. (In 2011, Friedman described the Israeli government as “drunk,” “out of touch” and “in-bred,” and wrote that congressional ovations for Prime Minister Netanyahu were “bought and paid for by the Israel lobby.”)

The media is unabashedly Anti-Israel – and undoubtedly affects world policies.

Ze’ev Jabotinsky, the Zionist prophet some years ago noted,

Who were the first to teach us to always interfere in matters that are not ours, to judge people and nations, even though we were never chosen for the position of judge? The work of the publicist is a legacy from the Prophets of Israel…Our passion is to speak, to proclaim—‘Shouting” is what the same audience calls it, ‘we have no need for words, give us actions.’ One thing that audience forgets is that speech is also an action – Perhaps the most authentic of all actions. Cities have been destroyed, and more will fall, but what was shouted in the wilderness thousands of years ago is alive and still relevant. The world was created by the Word. The world will be mended by the Article.

Media bias hurts Israel – and anyone with the ability to influence media to tell the truth should do all they can to help improve Israel’s image.

A few days ago I wrote about the radical, extremist New Israel Fund and their support for groups that hurt the State of Israel.

Israel’s Supreme Court issued a stay and agreed to rule on the planned demolition of several terrorists’ Jerusalem homes, including the terrorist who tried to kill American-born Rabbi Yehuda Glick, the terrorist who slammed his tractor into a bus, two who drove their cars into people near train stops, and those who murdered five Israelis a few weeks ago in a brutal massacre during morning prayers in Jerusalem. The day after that synagogue attack in Jerusalem, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered law enforcement to destroy the homes in question. The following day, one murderers’ home was destroyed – until the radical extremist organization Hamoked petitioned the Supreme Court on behalf of the terrorists and their families.

As this article in Yediot Achronot notes, Hamoked is representing the families of terrorists. Hamoked is a grantee of the New Israel Fund, which has provided $688,901 worth of grants from 2008-2013.

One can plainly see on Hamoked’s website their New Israel Fund partnership. Donors of New Israel Fund, which funds Hamoked, include Irwin and Joan Jacobs, the Fohs Foundation, the Bonnie and Marty Tenenbaum Foundation, the Edith and Henry Everett Foundation, The Irving Harris Foundation, Susie and Michael Gelman, and others.

A few weeks ago, a major donor to the New Israel Fund, the Leichtag Foundation, responded to my criticism by saying that their donations “involves the prerogative of a private foundation making determinations on best use of its resources. We are confident that our grant to the New Israel Fund was in line with our strategies and objectives and feel the money was well-spent.

They can spend their money how they want – yet Ms. Charlene Seidle, executive vice president of the Leichtag Foundation, is the incoming President and Chief Executive Officer of the Jewish Community Foundation of San Diego and this is an inappropriate job for someone with these extremist viewpoints. The incoming CEO of a major Jewish organization helps fund causes which benefit the families of Arab terrorists who kill Jews in Jerusalem.

As The Algemeiner Journal reported New Israel Fund is “a controversial foundation that supports dozens of Israel related causes, many of which are considered hostile to the Jewish State.” The New Israel Fund supports groups that hurt the Jewish State. People give charity for many different causes – but those that help protect the families of terrorists would be the people Lenin spoke of when he called people who work against their people’s own best interests in support of their enemies “useful idiots.”

As Benjamin Netanyahu once said, “The truth is that if Israel were to put down its arms there would be no more Israel. If the Arabs were to put down their arms there would be no more war.”

The unseemly history of restricting Jewish prayer at Judaism's holiest sites.

Yehuda Avner, a former advisor to multiple Israeli Prime Ministers, wrote an essay, The Mughrabi Gate Incident, which is worth reviewing for those who wonder about the Jewish right to pray at the Temple Mount – as some years ago Jews were forbidden to pray – and blow the shofar at the Western Wall.

Avner wrote:

Some brave hearts defied the ban. Each year, as the Yom Kippur service ended – Ne’ila – a member of Betar, the youth movement of Ze’ev Jabotinsky and Menachem Begin’s Irgun underground, would surreptitiously sound the shofar, and the police would move in and hit out in every direction. Menachem Begin was witness to one such Ne’ila on the Yom Kippur of 1943.

What he saw was a battalion of British policemen, armed with rifles and batons who, in starched, ironed uniforms, brassy parade-ground belts, navy-blue peaked caps and polished boots, looked invincible. With the cool confidence of jailers taking the measure of a prison yard’s inmates, they scanned the worshipers cramming the Western Wall’s narrow alleyway, trying to pick out who might turn out to be the blower. And when the sun went down and the shadows lengthened they squeezed in among the pious, elbowing their way towards the Wall, weapons angled and primed.

And then they heard it, and it drove them into a frenzy. A ruddy-faced sergeant, livid at the insolence, dashed toward a short figure clutching a shofar to his lips and, slapping the lad hard across the face, bellowed, “‘Ere, stop blowing that thing.” Other policemen set upon worshipers trying to defend him, clobbering them with their batons.”

Choked dumb with emotion, Menachem Begin was later to write: “Our ancient stones are not silent. They speak of the House that once stood here, of kings who once knelt here in prayer, of prophets and seers who declaimed their message here, of heroes who fell here, dying; and of how the great flame, at once destructive and illuminating, was kindled here. This House and this land, with its prophets and kings and fighters, were ours long before the British were ever a nation.”

Begin vowed that Jews would have the right to pray freely in Jerusalem.

As Avner continues,

Came the Ne’ila climax of Yom Kippur and in the ever-deepening twilight the white-clad cantor, facing the gigantic shadowy blocks of the antique Wall’s weathered stones, chanted in a voice that swelled and soared, “Sh’ma Yisrael… Hear, O Israel, the Lord is our God, the Lord is One.” and the whole congregation affirmed this declaration with single-minded intensity.

As the shofar sounded then, the Jews rejoiced. Today, at the Temple Mount the Jewish right to prayer is restricted. Many years ago, Menachem Begin fought for the right of Jews to pray at the Western Wall – and today too Jews must fight for the right of freedom of prayer.

The Temple Mount is the historical location of the First and Second Temples, the holiest place in the world for Jews – and Jews must be allowed to pray there.

The immense funding campaign behind the anti-Israel organization.

During these sensitive times, as the world is a kinder-box due to Muslim extremists, Jewish extremists must also be rejected. As Israeli Ambassador Ron Prosor recently said in United Nations speech, “Most people believe that at its core, the conflict is a battle between Jews and Arabs or Israelis and Palestinians. They are wrong. The battle that we are witnessing is a battle between those who sanctify life and those who celebrate death.” The Ambassador is right – which means organizations like the New Israel Fund (NIF) which empower terrorists must be shunned. The New Israel Fund supports groups that hurt the Jewish State.

An NIF grantee, the Executive Director of the Human Rights Defenders Fund (HRDF), received $332,625 from 2011-2013 in grants from the New Israel Fund and recently called Israel “racist,” and “murderous,” and described the country as a “temporary Jewish apartheid state.” She actively promotes the Palestinian ‘right of return.’ Other NIF grantees demand boycotts of the State of Israel, and contribute to gross Anti-Semitism by funding campaigns for Breaking the Silence who tour college campuses to accuse Israel of war crimes. These organizations are outside the consensus. As The Algemeiner Journal reported New Israel Fund is “a controversial foundation that supports dozens of Israel related causes, many of which are considered hostile to the Jewish State.”

Thankfully today it was revealed that Birthright and Young Judea will no longer work with New Israel Fund. New Israel Fund is associated with funding boycotts of Israel and programs to support the Israel Defense Forces, hence the Jewish community is rejecting these extremists. As Algemeiner added, “NIF actively supports organizations like Machsom Watch, which harass Israeli soldiers while on duty at checkpoints, Breaking The Silence which dispatches former Israeli soldiers on international tours accusing the IDF of human rights violations and war crimes, and +972 magazine, which offers a ready stream of anti-Israel articles and opinions pieces. During the recent Gaza war, New Israel Fund dispatched emergency grants to fund anti-Israel protests in Israel.”

NIF donors support extremists’ viewpoints with barely any support amongst the democratic electorate of Israel. While one constantly hears about donors on the right, why is the left given a pass when they help fund anti-democratic behavior?

Irwin Jacobs, a co-founder of Qualcomm is a major donor to The New Israel Fund, as is his fellow San Diegoan, The Leichtag Foundation. While The Fohs Foundation claims that their position is “not to look back, not to criticize Israel or place blame, but rather to promote opportunity going forward,”, yet by supporting the New Israel Fund, they stand with calling Israeli soldiers war crimes. That is out of bounds – and responsible donors must reject these extremists.

From the Edith and Henry Everett Foundation who fund The Jewish Book Council, Joint Distribution Committee, American Friends of Israel Sci-Tech Schools and others, one fails to comprehend why they would want to be associated with the New Israel Fund, which Professor Gerald Steinberg recently described as an organization that “..claim to support Israel and human rights principles, they enable the highly destructive activities that do the opposite. By the time these funders acknowledge this failure and end their support, the damage will be done.”

From the Lisa and Douglas Goldman Fund to The Irving Harris Foundation, Arnold Hiatt to many others, The New Israel Fund annual report is a study in those who seek to fund campaigns which support boycotts of Israel, supporting Anti-Semitism on campus, and prosecuting Israeli war crimes. The supporters of these causes are all visible in the New Israel Fund annual report.

The New Israel Fund has decreased in funding from $37 Million in 2010 to $27 Million in 2013. This dangerous extremist organization neglects the reality on the ground and the will of the people. America’s closest Middle East ally, Israel, faces a grave enemy of terrorists and despots, and supporting organizations which undermine the Israel Defense Forces and encourage boycotts of Israel are simply dangerous.

At the end of yet another brutal week where Israelis were killed while praying, the lessons of Zionist hero Ze’ev Jabotinsky are relevant, as before there was a Jewish State he wrote:

It is very, very sad that Jews are compelled to learn to shoot. But we are compelled and it is useless to argue against the compulsion of historic reality. That compulsion says you may be well educated, you may learn to plow the land and to build houses, you may speak Hebrew… but if you do not at the same time know how to shoot there is no hope. That is the lesson of the reality of our time and that is the prospect for the lifetime of our children.

What Jabotinsky said in the 1930’s in Europe remains true today. So, too do the words of his former secretary, Ben-Zion Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel’s father who said in 2009: “The Holocaust didn’t end. It continues all the time.” The brutal images of Jews being killed at prayer this week in Jerusalem could have come from any other tragedy in Jewish history.

Ze’ev Jabotinsky noted,

Where it is a question of war you do not stand and ask questions as to what is “better,” whether to shoot or not to shoot. The only permissible question in such circumstances is on the contrary “what is worse” to let yourself be killed or enslaved without any resistance or to undertake resistance with all its horrible questions. For there is no “better” at all. Everything connected with war is bad, and cannot be “good.” When you shoot at enemy soldiers do not lie to yourself or persuade yourself that you are shooting at “guilty” ones. If you start calculating with what is “better” the calculation is very simple; if you want to be good let yourself be killed and renounce everything you would like to defend: home, country, freedom, hope. The blackest of all characteristics is the tradition of the cheapness of Jewish blood.

In the legendary essay “Ethics of the Iron Wall,” Jabotinsky, the father of the Likud Party wrote:

Human society is based on reciprocity. If you remove reciprocity, justice becomes a lie. A person walking somewhere on a street has the right to live only because and only to the extent that he acknowledges my right to live. But, if he wishes to kill me, to my mind he forfeits his right to exist – and this also applies to nations. Otherwise, the world would become a racing area for vicious predators, where not only the weakest would be devoured, but the best.

Danny Danon, a Likud Knesset Member said recently that “Israel must flex muscle to crush terrorists,” and this PR Agency owner joins all decent people in mourning the deaths of innocents in Jerusalem, Israel. Terrorism must be fought and challenged.

Two sets of tax rules for those inside and outside the Democratic Party power structure.

In America and in New York City – much like anywhere else with law and order, there must be boundaries and rules. There can’t be two sets of rules.

Reverend Al Sharpton is a fixture for New Yorkers, and in the last few years, left-leaning cable news viewers have come to rely on his political and social commentary. Love him or hate him, he has been around forever and his brand has matured since the Tawana Brawley days. Particularly in the current de Blasio administration, Sharpton has grown quite powerful; so powerful, that, as the New York Post says, he dictates policy to the police commissioner. He is also very close with President Barack Obama, the United States Commander-in-chief.

Leaving aside Sharpton’s “colorful” history, how is it possible that powerful elected officials in this nation associate with and take advice from a national leader who does not pay his taxes? Politicians avoid shady characters, and taxes are a matter of fact issue (which in fact pays the salaries of these folks.)

As the uber-liberal New York Times reported today, in records they reviewed it was apparent that Sharpton owes, “more than $4.5 million in current state and federal tax liens against him and his for-profit businesses.” While Sharpton’s friends de Blasio and Obama have been in power, his tax bills have grown – and the organization which he runs, the National Action Network, has not paid federal payroll taxes.

Maybe the IRS has been too busy harassing the Tea Party to look at people on their own side of the political fence.

During the 2012 election cycle, billionaire Sheldon Adelson, an outspoken Republican donor, said a second Obama term would bring government “vilification of people that were against him [Obama].” In 2013 his words came true when the IRS admitted that conservative organizations were unfairly targeted and audited during the 2012 election.

Jay Sekulow of the American Center for Law and Justice said the IRS’s activity was “McCarthyism” – and, in fact, the Obama Administration targets and harasses conservatives while allowing Obama allies to openly cheat the system. During the 2012 election billionaire Frank VanderSloot raised up to $5 million for Romney’s campaign. He was labeled by Obama election propaganda as a “presidential enemy;” and soon after, this American businessman – who had never before had legal issues — was audited by the Labor Department and IRS.

In this tale of two cities – or of two countries, where some of us pay taxes, and some do not — right-wingers have been harassed unfairly by the IRS, while left-wingers who evade taxes are giving counsel and setting policy. Are these American tactics or is Obama learning from Putin?

Do Obama and de Blasio ask Sharpton about taxes when he whispers in their ears? Does anyone in their offices even care that he is in violation of American law?

It is ridiculous that Reverend Al Sharpton has a different set of rules than the rest of America. Reverend Al: Pay your taxes.

False advertisers try to sell New York as a good state for business -- after another dismal ranking.

I almost fell off the treadmill this morning when I saw advertisements from the Empire State Development agency touting how great it is to do business in New York and their website.

The powers that be in Albany, NY’s state capital, are trying to spin their way out of explaining the recent 2015 State Business Tax Climate Index from the Tax Foundation, a Washington, D.C., based research organization that ranked New York as the 49th worst state in the country in which to do business.

The tax index ranked only the Garden State lower than the Empire State as the worst state to do business in America based upon tax considerations. Imagine the punishment that Jersey faces. Jerseyans have the very punishment of living there, the awful Jets, and New Jersey is one of just two states to levy both an inheritance and an estate tax. Quite the combo.

However, for entrepreneurs, New York ranked dead last in the report when it came to the individual income tax component of the state business tax climate index – which means that as an individual entrepreneur there is nowhere worse to work for yourself. Higher taxes hurt entrepreneurs, investments, hiring, morale and more.

I have said it before, but perhaps as part of my self-help process its worth repeating: As a resident of Manhattan, I pay over 50% taxes – 35% federal, 8.25 percent New York State taxes, and 4 percent local taxes. Add in Medicare, Social Security, payroll, workers compensation, commercial rent taxes, and who knows what other tax and it is more than 50 percent. In what world is that normal, fair or decent?

Wyoming ranks as the top state to do business in – and it’s illegal there for women to stand within five feet of a bar while drinking – so who knows what makes sense?

The Federal Trade Commission should enforce truth-in-advertising laws – and force Empire State Development to clarify that the “BIG” that is referred to in its ads about doing business in NY doesn’t refer to opportunity – it refers to taxes, major government obstacles, barriers and the fact that there are taxes on everything in New York.

President Barack Obama has continually made terrible decisions – domestically and internationally – and has left America in a worse place than when he started. In China, Obama chewed gum and outraged Chinese citizens with his behavior. This has been a constant throughout his administration. Some meaningful quotes on the absolute failures of Obama when it has come to diplomacy:

“As far as is known, Obama became the first President, the first Commander-in-Chief, not to salute the living recipient of the Medal of Honor after presenting the medal.” — Rees Lloyd

“Obama is inexperienced and lacks a proper understanding of how he should handle himself as President.” — Casey Carmical

“Who can forget the moment last year when Obama took a selfie during a memorial service for anti-apartheid icon Nelson Mandela?” — Amie Parnes

“However one feels politically, it is questionable to salute Marines while holding a coffee cup – Could not someone have held it for him?” — Eric Vainer

The GOP is taking the public outrage over Obama’s salute to Marines while holding a coffee cup and running with it.” — Lisa Fine

“In an unprecedented breach of diplomatic etiquette, President Obama once again sandbagged Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu.” — Isi Leibler

“President Obama was the most liberal and most incompetent president in my lifetime ever since Jimmy Carter.” — Bobby Jindal

“It was seen as a slap in the face when Obama got out of his U.S. supplied transportation chewing gum.” — Roz Zurko

“To see a leader like Bibi Netanyahu treated so shabbily by someone [Obama] who treats us the same way was too much to bear.” — William A. Jacobson

“Obama’s awkward encounter with Akihito – bows are not meant to accompany physical contact – is not the first time the president has been criticized for his greeting of a foreign leader: Critics accused him of genuflecting to Saudi King Abdullah at a world economic summit this year.” — Foster Klug

“Yes, President Obama has just gifted the queen an iPod.” — Chris Matyszczyk

“Obama presented former Prime Minister Gordon Brown with DVDs of American films that couldn’t be played on British machines. Our classy president gave the queen an iPod loaded with his speeches.” — Robert Hanusa

“Instead of rendering the traditional salute, after fumbling as if all-thumbs in trying to affix the blue-ribboned Medal of Honor, Obama, equally awkwardly, tried to ‘hug’ the Sergeant. Yes, a ‘hug’ for the soldier who remained at attention with eyes front in military bearing.” — Rees Lloyd

“Mr. Obama’s manners at the event were on a par with those of Clark Griswold’s cousin Eddie from the 1989 movie Christmas Vacation.” — Larry Clifton

“Barack Obama makes us look patronizing, rude, and condescending.” — Doug Wead

“Gordon Brown has been snubbed repeatedly by Barack Obama during his trip to the United States, as the fall-out from the release of the Lockerbie bomber appeared to have left ‘the special relationship’ at its lowest ebb for nearly 20 years.” — Andrew Porter

“What is also more consistent with the Limbaugh and D’Souza thesis are such personal quirks as Obama’s gross rudeness to Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the White House and his otherwise inexplicable public debasement of himself and the United States by bowing low to other foreign leaders.” — Thomas Sowell

“One of the important considerations for the leader of the free world has to be inter-personnel relations.” — Jonah Engler

“We made this meeting so luxurious, with singing and dancing, but see Obama, stepping out of his car chewing gum like an idler.” — Yin Hong

“He [Obama] made the mistake of both shaking hands and bowing at the same time, a big breach of etiquette. The truth was that he was supposed to choose one or the other.” — David E. Sanger

“President Obama has very poor personal relations with most world leaders.” — Ed Lasky

“But the quintessential dissing of our mother country had to be Obama’s return of a bust of Winston Churchill bestowed on the U.S. by former Prime Minister Tony Blair after 9/11.” — Robert Hanusa

“Benjamin Netanyahu was left to stew in a White House meeting room for over an hour after President Barack Obama abruptly walked out of tense talks to have supper with his family.” — Adrian Blomfield

This NY PR firm owner has said it before and shall say it again – Obama’s legacy is one of disaster.

The facts underlying the Jewish connection.

In Jerusalem, The Temple Mount is the historical location of the First and Second Temples, the holiest place in the world for Jews. There has been ongoing disputes about the right of Jews to pray there – and it is absurd that anyone in the world can deny Jews the right of freedom of prayer in the State of Israel.

A week ago, American-born Rabbi Yehuda Glick, a leader of the movement encouraging Jews to pray at the Temple Mount, was shot by a Palestinian Arab assassin who objected to the idea of Jews praying on the Temple Mount. The Palestinian Arabs continue to do all they can to deny Jews the right to live – and pray – in the Jewish State. It is unacceptable – and Jews must have the right to pray at the Temple Mount.

Ze’ev Jabotinsky, the Zionist prophet, once asked, “Is a situation moral in which one side can commit any crime or murder and the other is forbidden to react?” There must be a price for attacks upon Jews in Israel at the holiest site in Judaism – and amongst that price must be increased rights of Jews to pray. As Ricki Hollander has said,

“Jewish reverence for the Temple Mount long predates the building of the Dome of the Rock and Al Aqsa Mosque in the 7th century CE, and even predates the construction of the first Jewish Temple by King Solomon almost 2000 years earlier.”

There are so many meaningful reasons and quotes about the Jewish connection to the Temple Mount:

* “There is very telling Jewish teaching about the Temple Mount, and that is: whoever controls the Mount, controls the world.” Yisrael Medad

* “[The Temple Mount] is the only place in the country where you feel you’re discriminated against because you’re Jewish.” Eli Duker

* “I want equal rights for Jews on the Temple Mount. What Muslims do, I want to do too.” Arnon Segal

* “There is only one meaning to giving up the Temple Mount: the end of the State of Israel.” Ronen Shoval

* “Although other parts of the Temple Mount retaining wall remain standing, the Western Wall is especially dear, as it is the spot closest to the Holy of Holies, the central focus of the Temple.” Rabbi Shraga Simmons

* “This compound was our Temple Mount. Here stood our Temple during ancient time, and it would be inconceivable for Jews not to be able freely to visit this holy place now that Jerusalem is under our rule.” Defense Minister Moshe Dayan

* “Islamist exclusivity has debased the Temple Mount. It’s time to return this holy site to its original inclusivity and allow anyone who wants to pray there respectfully to do so. That is the meaning of Jewish sovereignty and human dignity.” Moshe Dann

* “According to the Talmud, the world was created from the foundation stone of the Temple Mount. It’s believed to be the biblical Mount Moriah, the location where Abraham fulfilled God’s test to see if he would be willing to sacrifice his son Isaac.” Aaron Klein

* “But you cannot be a Zionist if you are prepared to yield the place that provides us with the moral, historic and religious right to this land – the Temple Mount.” Ronen Shoval

* “It is the supposed site of Mt. Moriah, where Abraham nearly sacrificed his son Isaac, where the prophet Muhammad is believed to have ascended into heaven, and was the location of the first and second temples, Judaism’s most holy structures.” Jason Reuter

* “Every Jew that goes to the Temple Mount puts another stone in the building of the Temple, and is making another step to fulfill Jewish sovereignty on the Temple Mount.” Moshe Feiglin

* “Three times a day, for thousands of years, Jewish prayers from around the world have been directed toward the Temple Mount. Kabbalistic tradition says that all prayers from around the world ascend to this spot, from where they then ascend to heaven.” Rabbi Shraga Simmons

* “We were not trying to demonstrate that it’s exclusively ours, or that we want the Muslims off, only that it’s a significant, if not the most significant Jewish site, archaeologically, historically, and religiously. This is the heart of it all.” Elli Fischer

* “To compare the Temple Mount to Mount Olympus is to bring everything into focus.” Dr. Israel Eldad

* “It is the Jewish root – the deepest roots that any people has. Elsewhere, we grope for insight.” Rabbi Shraga Simmons

* “The Temple Mount has remained a focal point for Jewish services for thousands of years. Prayers for a return to Jerusalem and the rebuilding of the Temple have been uttered by Jews since the Second Temple was destroyed, according to Jewish tradition.” Aaron Klein

* “Jewish religious interest in the Mount is not monolithic, and includes those who merely want to visit a site of great Jewish importance, those who believe Jews should be allowed to pray there, those who believe Temple rituals, like sacrifice, should be renewed immediately, and those who support the construction of a Third Temple in place of the Islamic shrines of the Noble Sanctuary.” Matti Friedman

* “Since Jews ascend it would not enter my mind to stop them from holding prayers services there.” Itzhak Nissim

* “Despite the conventional wisdom that the Jewish people were banished from this holy site, the evidence suggests that Jews continued to maintain a strong connection to and frequently even a presence on the Temple Mount for the next two thousand years.” F.M. Loewenberg

As Yisrael Medad of the Menachem Begin Heritage Center has noted,

“Although the Temple Mount is important to both groups, only under Jewish rule have both religions been given access to the Temple Mount. Therefore, it must remain under Israeli rule.”

All of Jerusalem – including The Temple Mount – belongs to Israel.

ISIS, Ebola ... and Israel building homes for Jews to live in. Guess what Obama has the greatest issue with?

There is ISIS and there is Ebola – and there is the small state of Israel that is building homes for Jews to live in. And the latter is the big issue for America.

According to AFP,

“The United States Monday blasted Israel for pledging to build 1,000 more Jewish homes in Jerusalem, saying any such move would be “incompatible” with peace efforts.”

There’s a simple answer: “Go To Hell.” That is what must be told to the State Department by the Israeli Government – as the father of the Likud Party, Ze’ev Jabotinsky, said was the best retort to opponents of the Jewish people.

As Jabotinsky noted in 1911,

“Instead of excessive apology and instead of turning our backs to the accusers – as there is nothing to apologize for, and nobody to apologize to – it is long overdue to respond to all current and future accusations, reproaches, suspicions, slanders and denunciations by simply folding our arms and loudly, clearly, coldly and calmly answer,’Go to Hell!’

Who are we, to make excuses to them; who are they to interrogate us? What is the purpose of this mock trial over the entire people where the sentence is known in advance? Our habit of constantly and zealously answering to any rabble has already done us a lot of harm and will do much more. The situation that has been created as a result, tragically confirms a well-known saying: ‘Qui s’excuse s’accuse’ (He who apologizes condemns himself).

We think that our constant readiness to undergo a search without hesitation and to turn out our pockets will eventually convince mankind of our nobility; look what gentlemen we are–we do not have anything to hide! This is a terrible mistake. The real gentlemen are the people that will not allow anyone for any reason to search their apartments, their pockets or their souls. Only a person under surveillance is ready for a search at every moment. This is the only inevitable conclusion from our maniacal reaction to every reproach, to accept responsibility as a people for every action of a Jew, and to make excuses in front of everybody.

I consider this system to be false at its very root. We are hated not because we are blamed for everything, but we are blamed for everything because we are not loved. We do not have to apologize for anything. We are a people as all other peoples; we do not have any intentions to be better than the rest. We do not have to account to anybody; we are not to sit for anybody’s examination and nobody is old enough to call on us to answer. We came before them. We are what we are, we are good for ourselves, we will not change and we do not want to.”

Israel as a nation is a modern miracle. After six million Jews were murdered while the world stood by and watched, a nation was created, but has been surrounded by enemies who have tried to destroy her from the very beginning of her existence.

Jews can live anywhere they want in America – why not in the Land of Israel?

A microcosm of this issue is taking place in Long Island’s Congressional race.

Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice has tried to distance herself from President Obama for fear of a backlash, going so far as to shy away from the President on his recent trip to Long Island. Yet, I can now reveal that a leading PR Agency SKDKnickerbocker represents her campaign. The firm, according to multiple media reports, “ is co-owned by President Barack Obama’s former Communications Director Anita Dunn and a member of Obama’s national media team for his 2008 run for President, Bill Knapp.”

No one has bothered to report that while Rice wants distance from Obama, her communications team is owned by close Obama allies.

An article I wrote this week claimed that Rice agreed to serve as a keynote speaker at a fundraiser alongside Imam Siraj Wahhaj of the Muslim Alliance of North America, who was an unindicted co-conspirator of the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. Rice’s imam co-host supported the notorious blind Sheikh Omar Abdel-Rahman, and has said that “America is the wicked government on the face of the planet Earth.” After my piece was published, she issued a statement claiming that “this individual was not yet an invited participant. He was later added to the guest list and as soon as we became aware of his involvement we immediately pulled out of the event.”

Despite the fact that the invite was widely being distributed for at least a week, Long Island’s highest ranking political official cancelled only after reading about said imam’s history in the media. They still haven’t spoken about why she agreed to appear at a mosque where speakers have “told mosque attendees that Hamas was a ‘resistance organization’ – whose armed resistance is legitimized by clearly established international law!” Nor has this congressional candidate advised on whether she urged Reverend Calvin Butts of the College of Old Westbury to pull out of said event – as one would imagine a leader who was concerned about doing the right thing would do.

Yesterday, Long Island’s largest newspaper, Newsday, ran an expose challenging Ms. Rice’s record as prosecutor. She refused to cooperate, and her spokesman made claims which he didn’t provide any corroboration for. Sounds like the Obama way – a lot of hot air.

While Rice didn’t vote even once before the age of 37, she may have not addressed the mosque because she was too busy dealing with fallout from her office being banned from obtaining recorded jailhouse conversations between inmates and their lawyers. Or, her employees may have been tweeting racist and sexually inappropriate jokes – as her Field director has done throughout this campaign.

One wonders at what time leftists will be held responsible for continued double-talk and excuses. It is high time for affirmative leadership from politicians of all political stripes.

An investor comes to a country's rescue -- and the government tries to make off with his money.

Hedge fund manager Paul Singer of Elliott Management Corporation has been involved in a high-profile dispute with the Republic of Argentina for seeking repayment of the full face value of debts acquired at a deep discount during Argentina’s financial crisis. While the latest ruling in the United States Supreme Court rejected Argentina’s appeal of the ruling, Argentina remains in default for not repaying $539 million in interest – and remains on the hook for $1.5 billion dollars.

Media reports indicate that a mediator recently noted that despite repeated court rulings, Argentina still has issues. A certain logic must prevail. Winners win, and losers lose. If one invests and wins, in the civilized world they get paid – even if they are wealthy. If this group of Singer-led investors would have bet wrong, one can bet they wouldn’t have gotten a penny back. Hence, they must be paid. Argentina can call them any bad words they choose – from vultures to whatever else – but spell the name right on the check.

It is really very simple – one must pay what they agreed to. Some quotes from wise people who should be listened to on this matter:

“To the U.S. Government, I would say that supporting the government of a country that does not play by the rules of a true democracy does not necessarily mean support for its citizens.” — Horacio Vazquez, an Argentine holdout bondholders

“I love it when he (Singer) wins, because it just validates who he is as a person. He’s a fighter. He’s not going to give up. And he’s not a villain: He’s a hard-nosed businessman, that’s it, and he sticks up for what he thinks is right. More people should do that.” — Ralph DellaCamera

“Since the country was largely cut off from international capital markets following its default in July, the government of President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner — never a paragon of orthodox policy making — has resorted to even more self-destructive coping measures. As the foreign currency reserves that Argentina needs to pay for imports have diminished, the government has issued new rules meant to keep dollars from leaving the country.” “There’s one easy way for Argentina to avert such a scenario: Settle with its holdout creditors and regain access to global capital markets.” – Bloomberg Editorial, “Argentina’s Contempt for Its Citizens”

“After being urged to invest in our country after its historic 2001 default (which was restructured in 2005) we were told that our investments were worth pennies on the dollar, and that the government would no longer honor its contracts and commitments.” — Horacio Vazquez, an Argentine holdout bondholders

“He doesn’t get into fights for the sake of fighting. He believes deeply in the rule of law and that free markets and free societies depend on enforcing it.” — Daniel S. Loeb.

“By negotiating in good faith with its creditors and respecting the rule of law, Argentina could repair its global standing and signal a new era to much-needed foreign investors. Such a move would be a positive first step in repairing Argentina’s wretched economy for the benefit of all its citizens.” — American Task Force On Argentina

“As Argentina struggles with a poor economy and the risk of default, a consensus has emerged among Argentines, business groups and ruling-party lawmakers that the government should settle a $1.5 billion debt with holdout bondholders—and do so soon….” – Wall Street Journal

“Imagine how much capital a country like Argentina might attract – If instead of defaulting seriatim and affecting a pose of anger toward creditors, it borrowed responsibly and honored its obligations.” — Paul Singer (2005)

Even this PR Agency owner cannot spin Argentina’s case – Was Argentina issuing bonds with no intention of paying them back? When they got the money did they simply not intend to pay it back? Governments receive money – and investors get paid even if they end up making a ton of money.

It is really rather simple: investors deserve to be paid. That’s the way the world works.

Whether Joseph or Simon or Ivan or Achmed agree or not.

History repeats itself when it comes to Jews and Israel – President Obama remains more concerned about Jews building homes in Jerusalem than radical Muslims. Yet, the Jewish State continues to grow and thrive.

There’s a Zionist leader named Ze’ev Jabotinsky who passed away in 1940, yet is considered the forefather of today’s nationalist politicians, including Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, whose late father was Jabotinsky’s personal secretary.

As Jabotinsky said, “We hold that Zionism is moral and just. And since it is moral and just, justice must be done, no matter whether Joseph or Simon or Ivan or Achmed agree with it or not.” Similarly as Jabotinsky wrote in his epic “Ethics Of The Iron Wall”:

Human society is based on reciprocity. If you remove reciprocity, justice becomes a lie. A person walking somewhere on a street has the right to live only because and only to the extent that he acknowledges my right to live. But, if he wishes to kill me, to my mind he forfeits his right to exist – and this also applies to nations. Otherwise, the world would become a racing area for vicious predators, where not only the weakest would be devoured, but the best.

And while Israel wants peace, Israel knows the importance of a strong arm and standing strong against her enemies, yet:

Everything connected with war is “evil” and “good” does not exist at all. When you fire at the enemy do not lie to yourself and do not imagine that you are shooting at the “guilty”… [I]f at that time we would have begun to calculate what was preferable – the result would have been simple: if you want to be “good” allow yourself to be killed and forego all that you made it your aim to defend: home, country, freedom, hope. The Romans used to say: “always choose the lesser of two evils. When you are faced with a situation where the exertion of force prevails, only one question may be presented: “which is worse?”

Amidst criticism that Israel faces world pressure, and should sacrifice to comply with “world leaders,” Ze’ev Jabotinsky wrote a clear answer in “The Story of The Jewish Legion”:

“Everybody is wrong and you alone are right?” No doubt this question springs by itself to the reader’s lips and mind. It is customary to answer this with apologetic phrases to the effect that I fully respect public opinion that I bow to it, that I was glad to make concessions….All this is unnecessary, and all this is untrue. You cannot believe in anything in the world, if you admit even once that perhaps your opponents are right, and not you. This is not the way to do things. There is but one truth in the world, and it is all yours. If you are not sure of it, stay at home; but if you are sure, don’t look back, and it will be your way.

As Jabotinsky said in 1940, “Life is not always logical.”

A lesson for businesses that stand up for conservative values.

Given the tenor of the gun control debate in the United States, it had to happen sooner or later. As more retailers are doing what has been deemed more acceptable –usually by left-leaning advocates — and asking customers not to carry guns into their stores, the inevitable opposite reaction has now occurred. This “man bites dog” scenario will be interesting to watch as it unfolds. So often, it is the politically correct anti-gun activist who posts policies – yet here someone took advantage of the obvious gap and is using it rather cleverly.

Lauren Boebert, who owns Shooters Grill in Rifle, Colorado (and no, the location is not made up; it is real and open) told CNN she had no plans to become the “poster girl” for open-carry gun laws. Yet, she has… and, so far, business is booming. Boebert said her choice had nothing to do with public relations for her eatery or for the gun control debate in the United States, but that it stemmed from a violent crime that occurred in an alley right behind her shop. After a man was killed, Boebert started carrying a pistol to protect herself. Today, she carries her subcompact semi-automatic on her hip as she waits tables and greets customers. No one bats an eyelash. After all, many of the other wait staff and customers also openly carry. Shooters is far from the only place this is happening. The news of the open-gun policy, however, has put it on the map.

Now, while Boebert said this was all for personal protection, some restaurants are even offering discounts and specials for diners who come in armed. Taking what works for Shooters Grill, the Shiloh Brew and Chew in Tennessee, All Around Pizza in Virginia, Cajun Meats in Louisiana, The Cajun Experience in Virginia and many others all advertise openly as gun-friendly establishments. (Michael Bloomberg was clearly not the mayor of these places.)

If you noticed a trend in the locations and menu styles of the restaurants in question, you should not be surprised. This move is far more than a clever marketing gimmick; it is geared toward a wanting demographic and business owners are doing what they can to shore up their base, and give those folks a reason to come in and then spread the word. Energizing word of mouth is a time-tested and primary PR protocol for any business that depends on repeat business. Most businesses do not need 51 percent of the population to patronize in order to make money. Politicians need 51 percent, yet a very successful business may need anywhere from 1 to 25 percent of a given population to make a lot of money.

Not being all things to all people works fine if your audience is big enough and loyal. In the case of the guns, too often conservative issues are ignored because business owners may be concerned with a liberal media backlash. There seems to be a sizable portion of people who think and vote conservatively, but are not as comfortable being as outspoken as their liberal colleagues for fear of financial reprisal.

There’s nothing quite like giving them a reason to cheer and onlookers a reason to come inside and try. These gun-happy diners are doing both … at least for the short term. There are indeed businesses not afraid to stand up for conservative issues.

Pretend Ebola was emanating from Israel – can anyone doubt President Obama would immediately ban all travelers from America? A few months ago, Israeli airports were shut down at the recommendation of the Obama Administration – hence rewarding terrorists.

Meanwhile, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said Friday there is no consideration of a travel ban right now against Ebola – and there are currently no Ebola travel restrictions. With the first diagnosed case of Ebola in the United States there are still open borders to America. The President, who remains so concerned about Jews building homes in Jerusalem, continues to ignore bombs being built in Iran, and a deadly disease emanating from Africa.

For an administration that has failed miserably on all international affairs, some thoughts to ponder:

“We should stop accepting flights from countries that are Ebola stricken,” said Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal. “Even countries in Africa have cut back on or stopped accepting flights from countries with Ebola outbreaks.” Jindal further asked, “How exactly would stopping the entry of people potentially carrying the Ebola virus be counterproductive? This seems to be an obvious step to protect public health in the United States.”

The Obama administration, however, appears to be indifferent to the public’s concerns. Matthew Continetti notes, “Over the last few years the divergence between what the government promises and what it delivers, between what it says is happening or will happen and what actually is happening and does happen, between what it determines to be important and what the public wishes to be important—this gap has become abysmal, unavoidable, inescapable.” On the Ebola threat in particular, instead of sharing in the public’s worry, the government suggests that “recommending precautions that the administration says are unnecessary (regarding a disease with a mortality rate of over 50%) is grounds for some to accuse critics of trying to spread hysteria,” as Rick Moran observes.

“This could get beyond our control … Can you imagine if a whole ship full of our soldiers catch Ebola?” Sen. Rand Paul remarked. He later noted, “A wide open, porous border is not only a danger for national security purposes, it is also a danger for a world-wide pandemic.”

Sen. Ted Cruz said it is imperative that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) take every precaution to prevent the spread of Ebola before the holiday season. He noted that several African countries—in addition to British Airways, Emirates Airlines, and Kenya Airways—have restricted, suspended, or banned flights to Ebola-stricken nations.

Cruz noted, “It is imperative that the FAA take every available precaution in preventing additional cases from arriving in the United States.”

“Keeping the American people safe must be our nation’s top priority, and the White House should immediately ban travel from Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Guinea to contain the spread of Ebola,” North Carolina GOP Senate candidate Thom Tillis stated.

One wonders what can be relied upon from this administration.

Building in the holy city prompts threats from the Obama administration.

Amongst the news that Washington told Israel if they move forward with building in Eastern Jerusalem, it would distance Israel from, “even its closest allies.” This is simply offensive rhetoric.

As Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said, it’s worth learning the information properly before deciding to take a position like that. “I think they [the Obama administration] should be acquainted with the facts first. You know? First of all, these are not settlements. These are neighborhoods of Jerusalem. We have Arab neighborhoods and we have Jewish neighborhoods.”

Jerusalem is the eternal capital of the Jewish people – some strong quotes to better understand:

•”It is the right of Jews to buy an apartment in Jerusalem – I stand firm by my decision, there will not be a situation where Jews will not be able to buy an apartment in Jerusalem.” — Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu

• “I say this firmly and clearly: building in Jerusalem is not poisonous and harmful – rather, it is essential, important and will continue with full force. I will not freeze construction for anyone in Israel’s capital. Discrimination based on religion, race or gender is illegal in the United States and in any other civilized country.” — Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat

•“The oldest and holiest Jewish cemetery on Mount of Olives is in East Jerusalem, (3,000 years old) as is the Western Wall, so to call new Jewish suburbs in East Jerusalem, settlements, is absurd, and designed to undermine Jewish legitimacy there.” — Mervyn Bufton

• “[Jerusalem is the] “unified capital of Israel and the capital of the Jewish people, and sovereignty over it is indisputable.” — Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu

•“We are joyful and honored to commence the construction of our new neighborhood which strengthens the Jewish presence in united Jerusalem and stresses the fact that Jerusalem is the home of every Jew in Israel and throughout the world.” — Rabbi Dani Isaac

• “The Land of Israel without Jerusalem is merely ‘Palestine.’ Down the generations the Jews have been saying not ‘Next year in the Land of Israel’ but ‘Next year in Jerusalem’… One can create Tel-Aviv out of Jaffa but one cannot create a second Jerusalem. Zion lies within the walls, not outside them.” — Menachem Mendel Ussishkin

•“After 2,000 years of sacrifice for the dream of returning to Jerusalem, we cannot allow it to be taken away.” — Irving Moskowitz

•“All countries of the world should understand that attempts to endanger Jerusalem’s unity and Israel’s sovereignty in it, will be rejected immediately.” — MK Ofir Akunis

•“It’s a noise of construction, not of destruction, thank God. And it will always be like this. Development in Jerusalem, it’s a good thing. Not to the studio but for other things.” — Benny Elon

•“The Jewish people are in Jerusalem, not as settlers or invaders, but as of right. These rights are clearly spelt out in International Law and should be respected by the international community.” — Jacques Gauthier

•“A non-broken series of treaties and resolutions, as laid out by the San Remo Resolution, the League of Nations and the United Nations, gives the Jewish People title to the city of Jerusalem.” — Hillel Fendel

•“You ought to let the Jews have Jerusalem; it was they who made it famous.” — Winston Churchill

•“Jerusalem was the focal point for the historical connection of the Jewish people to the land of Israel.” — Dore Gold

•“The Jewish connection to Jerusalem is an ancient and powerful one. Judaism made Jerusalem a holy city over three thousand years ago and through all that time Jews remained steadfast to it.” — Daniel Pipes

•“This means praying and working for a just and lasting peace. Dividing Jerusalem will not lead to peace but will only further fuel the conflict. A lasting peace needs to be based on historical facts and international law and not on unilateral declarations or international pressure.” — Tomas Sandell

•“There is no justice, no law, and no God in heaven, only a single law which decides and supersedes all — [Jewish] settlement [of the land].” – Ze’ev Jabotinsky

•“2,600 apartments in Givat HaMatos that we approved two years ago will enable more young people from all sectors and religions to live in Jerusalem and build their future here, thereby strengthening the capital of Israel. We will not apologize for that.” — Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat

•“Jerusalem is not a settlement but the historical capital of Israel. If Jerusalem were to be divided along the armistice demarcation lines of 1967, it would place the Old City under Palestinian rule. This would contradict the legal commitments made to the Jewish people in the San Remo Resolution of 1920, the Mandate for Palestine in 1922, as well as Article 80 in the United Nations Charter.” — Jacques Gauthier

•“In terms of numbers, Jerusalem – not even including Zion – is mentioned directly in the Bible approximately 650 times. By way of comparison, it is not mentioned even once in the Koran – and Muslims actually turn their backs on Jerusalem when they pray.” — Chaim Silberstein

• “Anyone who doesn’t recognize Jerusalem as the capital of the state of Israel does not recognize the State of Israel.” — Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat

•“Jerusalem is the eternal, undivided capital of the nation of Israel and the Jewish people.” — Former Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin

•“There are two reasons Jerusalem was chosen the capital of Israel. The first, from David’s perspective, is political. The second, from God’s perspective, and more importantly, is spiritual.” — Gordon Franz

• “Objecting to ‘Judaisation of Jerusalem’, so to speak, is absurd and is equatable to an objection to the Catholic nature of the Vatican or the Islamisation of Mecca, it is naturally unthinkable.” — Foreign Ministry spokesman Yigal Palmor

• “I can imagine what would happen if someone proposed that Jews could not live or buy in certain neighborhoods of London, New York, Paris or Rome. A huge international outcry would surely ensue. It is even more impossible to agree to such an edict in East Jerusalem.” — Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu

•“It is unthinkable that any sovereign nation does not have the right to determine where in its territory its capital will reside. How ludicrous it is for one country to demand of another where it should or should not locate its capital! This is especially true of a city which has had strong emotional and spiritual significance to the Jewish people for many centuries.” — Bob Westbrook

•“Anyone who thinks that Jews buying a few handfuls of homes in areas of Jerusalem in any way contributes to the problems in the Middle East just doesn’t understand the reality of how deep the antagonism is to the nation state of the Jewish people,” — Professor Alan Dershowitz.

Jerusalem will never be divided.

The bigotry and double standards of one of the nation's leading PR firms.

The world of public relations is filled with constant pressures and moving parts. As CEO of one of the largest US PR firms, I know and understand the intricacies of spin.

Last week, the Emirate of Qatar hired one of the world’s largest PR agencies, Portland Communications, “for a communications/political push targeted at Congress and federal agencies to improve ties with the United States.” Qatar follows sharia law and has numerous human rights issues. On the heels of that partnership comes the revelation that recently released federal government filings indicate that Burson-Marsteller, one of the world’s leading PR firms has been hired to improve the foreign image of Tunisia’s Ennahda Party, a Muslim Brotherhood-inspired organization. The Ennahda Party has good reasons to have close American ties given the upheaval Islamist-backed governments have caused in the Middle East.

While paying homage to Middle Eastern money isn’t an anomaly to only the PR industry, the shock is that the same firm taking money from the Muslim Brotherhood refused to work for Israel, calling the Jewish State “highly controversial.” Sigurd Grytten, Managing Director of Burson-Marsteller, refused Israel’s request for a meeting, explaining, “We will not deliver tender to such a project … we are running a commercial venture. If we accept this project, this will create a great amount of negative reactions … Israel is a particularly controversial project.”

As a Jerusalem Post editorial on the Ennahda Party described,

[T]he movement’s members have been implicated in both incitement and violent actions against Tunisian and foreign targets. The party supported the 1979 embassy takeover in Iran, and evidence suggests it was responsible for bombing four tourist hotels in the 1980s.

A party leader “called for attacks on US interests in the Middle East in response to America’s invasion of Iraq in the Gulf War,” and more recently, the organization spoke of “victory” of the Palestinian resistance in Gaza, and opposes relations with Israel.

In the eyes of my peers in the PR industry, a party inspired by the Muslim Brotherhood is mainstream – and Israel is “a particularly controversial project.” Fascinating times we live in.

Protests kick off against the pro-terrorist opera, "The Death of Klinghoffer."

Leon Klinghoffer’s daughters Lisa and Ilsa Klinghoffer say that the play The Death of Klinghoffer, which premiers Monday evening at Lincoln Center, is unacceptable, stating, “We are outraged at the exploitation of our parents and the coldblooded murder of our father as the centerpiece of a production that appears to us to be anti-Semitic.” Countless media outlets, including The New York Daily News, noted that The Death of Klinghoffer has been “reviled as anti-Semitic and horribly sympathetic to the killers.”

Daniel Pearl’s father, in a letter that will be read at the protests Monday outside of Lincoln Center, notes that the Met is wrong to air this play. The letter reads in part as follows:

In joining you today to protest the New York Metropolitan Opera production of this opera, I echo the silenced voice of my son, Daniel Pearl, and the silenced voices of other victims of terror, including James Foley and Steven Sotloff, and including thousands of men, women and children who were murdered, maimed or left heartbroken by the new menace of our generation, a menace that the Met has decided to accept and orchestrate as just another activity of normative civilized society, just another phenomenon worthy of artistic expression. They tell us that the composer tried to “understand the hijackers, their motivations, and their grievances.”

I submit to you that there has never been a crime in human history lacking grievance and motivation. The 9/11 lunatics had profound motivations, and the murderers of my son, Daniel Pearl, had very compelling “grievances.” In the past few weeks we have seen with our own eyes that Hamas and ISIS have grievances, too and, they, too, are lining up for operatic productions with the Met.

Yet civilized society, from the time of our caveman ancestors, has learned to protect itself by codifying right from wrong, separating the holy from the profane, distinguishing that which deserves the sound of orchestras from that which deserves our unconditional revulsion. The Met has smeared this distinction and thus betrayed their contract with society. I submit to you that choreographing an operatic drama around criminal pathology is not an artistic prerogative, but a blatant betrayal of public trust.

We do not stage operas for rapists and child molesters, and we do not compose symphonies for penetrating the minds of ISIS executioners. What we are seeing here in New York today is not an artistic expression that challenges the limits of morality, but a moral deformity that challenges the limits of the art. This opera is not about the mentality of deranged terrorists, but about the judgment of our arts directors. The New York Met has squandered humanity’s greatest treasure — our moral compass, our sense of right and wrong, and, most sadly, our reverence for music as a noble expression of the human spirit. We might be able some day to forgive the Met for de-criminalizing brutal minds, but we will never forgive them for poisoning our music — for turning our best violins and our iconic concert halls into mega-phones for excusing evil.”

Meanwhile, the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), which describes itself as “the nation’s premier civil rights/human relations agency,” has rubber-stamped the Met’s airing of this anti-Semitic opera. While The Death of Klinghoffer includes libels that Jews get fat from the poor and chea, and has countless anti-Semitic themes, the ADL has cited “artistic freedoms” in approving the Metropolitan Opera’s decision to feature the anti-Semitic opera. Shame on the ADL – they are wrong.

On the side of truth and justice: the Klinghoffer family, Daniel Pearl’s family, terror victims, countless Jewish organizations (including the Simon Wiesenthal Center), the former United States Attorney General Michael Mukasey, Former NY Governor George Pataki, numerous other religious organizations and a slew of others oppose the play and will protest outside on Monday. Rabbi Avi Weiss will lead a morning prayer vigil where participants will raise a voice of outrage against this play which celebrates terrorist murders. They will have a wheelchair to illustrate the plight of Klinghoffer, an American World War II veteran who was killed by terrorists of the Palestine Liberation Front (PFLF).

I live across the street from Lincoln Center – it’s despicable and horrible that the Lincoln Center allows the show to go on. Terrorists kill Americans – and that is not art.

The Metropolitan Opera is romanticizing murder and terrorism.

Words of wisdom on the crucial task of protecting the Jewish State.

On Friday, the former Prime Minister of Hamas, Ismail Haniyeh, threatened that Hamas would resume the rocket attacks against Israel on September 25th. Haniyeh noted that Hamas will not demilitarize, nor will they “cooperate with any regional or international decision which would see its arsenal ‘against the resistance’ harmed.” As he said, “Weapons are the holy light of the sanctity of the struggle and the land issue, and if they want to demilitarize its weapons, we will only agree if the occupier is also demilitarized and its leaves our land.” Hamas is clear on their mission to destroy the State of Israel.

Israel, on the other hand, values human life, and takes war very seriously. The government of Israel made the difficult decision to accept a ceasefire. Undoubtedly, President Obama pressured Israel, and Kerry and Obama succeeded in stopping Israel from destroying Hamas. Some sort of a fragile “truce” holds and undoubtedly the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, may once again face the difficult decision very soon to strike forcefully. Netanyahu undoubtedly values human life – and wants peace.

Netanyahu’s late father, Benzion, was known to have had a tremendous influence on his son — and Benzion was the longtime secretary to Ze’ev Jabotinsky, the founder of revisionist Zionism. Jabotinsky was a proud, strong nationalist whose ideology has influenced the leaders of many nationalist Israelis.

Amongst Jabotinsky’s wise words as he sought to create a fighting Jewish people was the quote, “We shall create, with sweat and blood, a race of men, strong, brave and cruel.” As Hamas threatens Israel today, what would Jabotinsky think – and what would he urge Prime Minister Netanyahu to do?

At the Third World Conference of Betar, Menachem Begin (at the time the head of Betar Poland), and Jabotinsky had an exchange of words which are interestingly relevant to the very dilemma which Netanyahu faces today as he faces an enemy on his borders – and what to do.

Begin noted:

With what means will we succeed in achieving our aims? We were taught to use moral pressure on the Western powers, and that Britain will honor her commitments to our nation. But in reality, the British only need take the Arab demands into account. The Arabs receive 95% and do not agree. They fight with their blood. And we who receive only 5%, how are we fighting? It is obvious that the disproportion of strength and honor between Israel and the Arabs must force Britain to first of all consider the Arab demands over ours. Zionism is an eternal idea but its realization will be delayed by decades if we continue on this path. We must fight – to die or conquer the mountain! The Israeli national movement began with Practical Zionism. Then there was Political Zionism. And now we must create a new Zionism – Military Zionism. Our examples will be Camillo di Cavour and Giuseppe Garibaldi. Cavour would have never achieved victory for Italy without Garibaldi.

Jabotinsky retorted:

Permit me to say a few strong words. As your teacher it is my duty. There are many types of noises in this world. There is the whistle and the noise of heavy machines. But I cannot bear the squeak of an un-oiled door because that noise serves no purpose. You are implying that there is no conscience left in the world and there is no room for such useless chattering in Betar. It is pure despair. With a broom we must sweep away these futile ideas.

One wonders: Is there any conscious in the world, when a terrorist organization is supported by countless nations? No one in Israel wants war – but an enemy devoted to destroying the Jewish people must be countered. It is a reality which faces the State of Israel every single day.

Similarly, Netanyahu must recall the words of Jabotinsky in the legendary essay “Ethics of the Iron Wall”:

Human society is based on reciprocity. If you remove reciprocity, justice becomes a lie. A person walking somewhere on a street has the right to live only because and only to the extent that he acknowledges my right to live. But, if he wishes to kill me, to my mind he forfeits his right to exist – and this also applies to nations. Otherwise, the world would become a racing area for vicious predators, where not only the weakest would be devoured, but the best.

There is no easy way.

Ze’ev Jabotinsky wrote in 1929: “The Jewish people – all of us, 100 percent want peace.” Yet, he realized the importance of strength.

Prime Minister Netanyahu has no easy decisions – yet knows that he must protect the only Jewish State in the world.
