When nothing else works cry “racist!” over and over and over again.
The presumptive Republican presidential nominee appeared alongside former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani to respond to a widely publicized taunt hurled at him by the Community Organizer-in-Chief. Without benefit of a time machine, President Obama, whose extended victory dance over killing 9/11 terrorist Osama bin Laden has been receiving saturation media coverage in recent days, preposterously claimed that Romney might not have tried to dispatch the al-Qaeda leader if given the chance.
In an incident captured on news video, the female heckler screamed, “Mitt Romney, you’re a racist!” almost a dozen times, wrecking the public relations optics of the event that was choreographed to highlight Romney’s foreign policy acumen.
It is axiomatic that when left-wingers are desperately worried about losing power they pull out their oldest and most reliable canard. Liberals and their more radical brethren scream “racist!” over and over and over again as if sheer repetition of the lie will somehow make it true.
The attention-seeking woman, identified by New York Magazine as Nastaran Mohit, also cussed at the former Massachusetts governor, screaming, “Fuck you, Mitt Romney!”
Mohit, who turns 30 next month, is the legislative director for a radical left-wing advocacy group called Domestic Workers United (DWU). When lobbying lawmakers in Albany presumably she refrains from dropping F-bombs.
The 12-year-old group Mohit works for describes itself on its website as “an organization of Caribbean, Latina and African nannies, housekeepers, and elderly caregivers in New York, organizing for power, respect, fair labor standards and to help build a movement to end exploitation and oppression for all.”
One of radical philanthropist George Soros’s charities, the Foundation to Promote Open Society, gave DWU a $75,000 grant in 2010 “to support the implementation of the domestic worker bill of rights.” That statute, enacted later the same year, provides certain labor protections for nannies, caregivers, and housekeepers. Those workers have long been targeted for recruitment by labor unions such as the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), President Obama’s favorite labor organization.
For those unfamiliar with Soros, he’s a Communist sympathizer who co-founded the ultra-secretive Democracy Alliance, a billionaires’ club that wants to radically transform America. He has said that European-style socialism “is exactly what we need now” and favors American decline. A currency manipulator with an insider-trading conviction, Soros praises Red China effusively, saying the totalitarian nation has “a better-functioning government than the United States.”
The law that Soros’s money helped to purchase was praised by leftist organizer Rinku Sen, CEO of the Applied Research Center. She said the law constitutes “a massive and unprecedented win for the new labor movement — and it is a model for the way organizers and lawmakers alike must begin to think about workers’ rights in the 21st century economy.” The New York law “requires overtime pay for nannies, housekeepers and companions to the elderly, guarantees them weekly time off and subjects employers to state law for minimum-wage violations and sexual harassment.”
DWU has also received financial support from radical funders such as the Public Welfare Foundation.
Mohit appears to be a committed radical. In 2004 and 2008 she registered to vote under the banner of ACORN’s partisan arm in New York State, the neo-communist Working Families Party, according to public records. Soros also funded the corrupt ACORN network through his philanthropies, as I documented in my book, Subversion Inc.: How Obama’s ACORN Red Shirts are Still Terrorizing and Ripping Off American Taxpayers.
Mohit must be very pleased with herself for torpedoing a nationally televised GOP campaign event.
Another radical group tried to undermine Romney last year during a campaign stop in Iowa. Members of Iowa Citizens for Community Improvement (Iowa CCI), part of a larger Saul Alinsky-inspired organizing network called National People’s Action (NPA), did their best to disrupt Romney’s speech by heckling him.
NPA is working with the Occupy Wall Street movement to generate civil unrest in order to do away with the capitalist system. As NPA leader George Goehl said in 2010, “The banking crisis is the next big thing.” It is “the way to build a big economic justice movement in this country,” Goehl said.
“People are questioning capitalism. People are asking, Will this economy ever work for me or will it work for my kids? This is a once in a lifetime opportunity as progressives to engage millions of Americans in a big conversation around serious economic restructuring, not around eking out some victories around the margins, not about making life a little less worse for people, but about big time transformative change.”
No doubt there are thousands more Nastaran Mohits and George Goehls out there itching to silence President Obama’s political opponents.
