General Al-Yazal tells the paper that “the Islamists have an arsenal of weapons that came from Libya” and they “intend to use them against the Egyptian people in the framework of a political conflict.”
While the protests in Egypt and Tunisia against the Islamists continue and Obama ignores the Muslim Brotherhood's rape squads while bashing Israel over a few houses, the situation may be on the verge of turning truly ugly.
Mayor General Sameh Seif Al-Yazal, a former intelligence officer, the head of a security company and a security think tank, a member of the Egyptian Council for Foreign Affairs, who is supposedly close to the Egyptian military leadership, is now talking about the possibility of civil war.
In an interview with Al-Quds Al-Arabi, General Al-Yazal tells the paper that “the Islamists have an arsenal of weapons that came from Libya” and they “intend to use them against the Egyptian people in the framework of a political conflict.” Al-Yazal uses his opportunity to speak with the daily to call on outside forces to get more involved in the crisis.
“There must be intervention,” he says. “Or Egypt is heading into a civil war.”
The interesting question is who is he talking about. It seems likely that Al-Yazal means the various Salafist groups, rather than the Brotherhood which can draw from the superior weapons stocks of their Turkish, Qatari and Saudi backers.
If the Salafists do attempt to start a civil war using Libyan weapons that fell into their hands due to Obama's Libyan War, then the cost of Obama's illegal war will suddenly be a lot higher than previously thought.
