"Of course we want to go to the moon, but we cannot do it with the occupation. And who’s responsible for the occupation as well? America, the USA."
Apparently all those rockets being shot at Jerusalem and Tel Aviv are really just the prep work for a space program. Who knew?
A Palestinian musician is blaming the U.S. and Israel for the fact that the Palestinians have not yet been able to send a man to the moon.
Tamer Nafar of the Arabic hip hop band DAM says the group’s latest album was inspired by the contrast between NASA’s space exploration and the digging of smuggling tunnels between Gaza and Egypt. He tells the pro-Palestinian website Electronic Intifada that the “occupation” and the U.S. are to blame for hindering Palestinian space exploration ambitions.
Even though Obama ordered NASA to make Muslim outreach its chief priority, clearly we have not yet done enough to send Palestinians to the moon.
Well, once I read an article about some NASA experiment on the moon, or in space, I don’t know, but they created some kind of a spaceship that goes to outer space to do something. And on the same day, I read an article about the people in Gaza digging tunnels. I didn’t feel comfortable with these two opposites. They are exploring the galaxies outside of Earth, and the Palestinians are digging tunnels — it’s the opposite direction.
At least Tamer has a good grasp of the details of space exploration. But the lack of Hamas interest in exploring galaxies may be due to the lack of weapons in them. If there was a wormhole that they could use to ship missiles to Gaza from the Large Magellanic Cloud, I bet they would be on it.
Of course we want to go to the moon, but we cannot do it with the occupation. And who’s responsible for the occupation as well? America, the USA. They are sponsoring billions of dollars every year to make us dig under tunnels. I didn’t like it, and it was a sad song at the beginning. How come we are digging tunnels and they are reaching outer space?
Gaza hasn't been occupied by in 7 years. For that matter if Israel vanished tomorrow, could Palestinian Arabs go to the moon? Could they even keep the lights on and the streets clean? It's rather doubtful considering that they have trouble doing it now, and that's with billions in foreign aid.
Why are Muslims digging tunnels? Because the focus has been on terrorism and on destroying Israel, India and other non-Muslim countries.
Instead of conquering space, Muslims have tried to conquer their neighbors. They unleashed the genie of terrorism and it rebounded on them. The Muslim world continues to be torn apart by its own hatreds. And if Muslims want to go to the moon, they will first have to learn to live in peace on earth with their neighbors.
