ObamaCare meets the needs of Obama's base
ObamaCare defenders cover up everything wrong with their disastrous program by claiming that it's all the fault of those mean Republican governors who refuse to expand Medicaid.
Protests have been held in major cities demanding Medicaid expansion. But who benefits from the Medicaid expansion? Murderers, rapists, armed robbers and drug dealers.
Less than a million Americans lack health insurance because of a pre-existing condition. And it turns out that a good number of Americans are uninsured not because they are sick, but because they are convicted criminals.
When Obamacare was signed into law in 2010, the Congressional Budget Office estimated that half of the law’s expansion of health insurance coverage would come from expanding Medicaid, America’s government-run health insurance program for the poor. However, in 2012, the Supreme Court ruled that states could decline to expand their Medicaid programs; thus far, 25 states have held off.
It turns out that more than a third of the U.S. population eligible for the Medicaid expansion are ex-cons. In 2011, the U.S. Department of Justice estimated that “at least 35 percent of new Medicaid eligibles under the Affordable Care Act will have a history of criminal involvement.”
ObamaCare is already being marketed to criminals in prison.
In a little-noticed outcome of President Obama’s Affordable Care Act, jails and prisons around the country are beginning to sign up inmates for health insurance under the law, taking advantage of the expansion of Medicaid that allows states to extend coverage to single and childless adults — a major part of the prison population. State and counties are enrolling inmates for two main reasons. Although Medicaid does not cover standard health care for inmates, it can pay for their hospital stays beyond 24 hours — meaning states can transfer millions of dollars of obligations to the federal government.
But the most important benefit of the program, corrections officials say, is that inmates who are enrolled in Medicaid while in jail or prison can have coverage after they get out.
ObamaCare is yet another social welfare program that hikes prices for working families while providing freebies to the worst scum likely to vote for the Democratic Party.
A scholarly study newly released in The Annals of the American Academy of Political and Social Science has revealed that most convicts in jail register as Democrats.
New Mexico showed 54.6% of convicts as Democrats, with 10.2% Republican, and North Carolina had 54.6% of felons as Democrats with 10.2 GOP.
In terms of electoral results, President Obama would have added 2.6pt to his 0.9pt Florida margin had felons and ex-felons been allowed to vote. Even if we just count ex-felons, it would have been 2.2pt. Al Gore would have easily won the state given this data. Obama would have tacked on another 1.6pt to his 3.9pt win in the swing state of Virginia if it had the felon voting rules of Maine or Vermont.
ObamaCare just meets the needs of Obama's base; criminals.
