Professor Teaching Class on "Obama Phenomenon" Threatened to Kill Ted Cruz Supporting Students

"before he sent them home to their mother in a body bag.”

No one could ask for a better academic exposition of the Obama Phenomenon than the one delivered by Professor Otis Madison.

Alice Gilbert can vividly recall her first day of class last fall in a black studies course called “The Obama Phenomenon” offered by Professor Otis Madison at UC Santa Barbara.

That’s because before his introductory lecture was over, the scholar “warned Ted Cruz-supporting ‘teabaggers’ to get the hell out of his classroom before he sent them home to their mother in a body bag,” Gilbert said in an email interview with The College Fix.

According to his credentials, Otis is a lecturer in the Department of Black Studies and received a Professor of the Year award by UCSB's Mortar Board in 1992.

Been a long time since 1992.

Donald Douglas at American Power has a personal recollection of Otis.

I attended the first day of classes of Professor Madison's Black Studies (or Black Politics) course, mainly to get a copy of the syllabus. To say the guy was bizarre is putting it mildly. At the beginning of the class the guy just stood there, looking around the lecture hall, for what seemed like five minutes. It was extremely uncomfortable. He then proceeded to go off on some typical anti-American rant, blabbering on about pervasive racism, or something.

Some students describe Otis' perspective as "Marxist". The course description on the magic of a Chicago Dem states...

Examines the historical, cultural and political nature of the Obama phenomenon. Given the historical nexus of race and class in the United States, the course will explore the historical implications of the election.

It's certainly historic.
