Sometimes a lying leftist lies so much that pushes all the way through to the other side.
Sometimes a lying leftist lies so much that she ends pushing all the way through her original politics all the way to the other side.
That's what happened to Anna Lekas Miller at Vanity Fair where she dishonestly smeared Israelis as a bunch of raving sociopaths. And all she had to do was tell a bunch of lies.
"A Facebook page calling for Israeli vigilantes to “kill an Arab every hour” quickly gained more than 20,000 likes," she wrote.
Except that's not what the Facebook page said.
"We support executing a terrorist every hour until the teens are released," the page said.
Vanity Fair, whose journalistic standards hover somewhere between the Huffington Post and the New York Times then issued a correction.
"A Facebook page calling for Israeli vigilantes to “shoot a terrorist every hour” quickly gained more than 20,000 likes," the correction read.
The Facebook page made no mention of vigilantes shooting anyone, but Vanity Fair was finally in the same general neighborhood as reality.
How did VF explain this unfortunate error? By claiming that all Arabs are terrorists.
Update: An earlier version of this story translated a Hebrew phrase to mean "kill an Arab every hour". The literal translation is "shoot a terrorist every hour."
Does Vanity Fair believe that terrorist can be translated, even loosely, as Arab?
The Facebook page states "terrorist" in English. The Hebrew word is "Mehabel". In no way, shape or form does Mehabel translate as Arab.
However Anna Lekas Miller and Vanity Fair seem to think it does. Maybe they should explain their theory that all Arabs are terrorists.
