Lying About "'When Genocide Is Permissible"

The repeated use of "article" or "op-ed" to describe the post is false and dishonest.

1. Multiple posts on various sites, including at Vice and the Daily Beast, falsely describe "When Genocide Is Permissible" as an article or an Op-Ed.

In fact, "'When Genocide Is Permissible" was a post. Times of Israel enables a whole lot of people to post blog posts. These blog posts are not approved beforehand.

I know that, because I was able to do it. There seem to be about as many bloggers at Times of Israel as there are at the Huffington Post.

The repeated use of "article" or "op-ed" to describe the post is false and dishonest. It implies that it is something that it's not.

2. The Times of Israel is an online website. Calling it an Israeli newspaper is a stretch. It's in English which tells you that it's not oriented toward Israelis.

3. The Times of Israel is not right-wing. Its editor David Horovitz came out of the Jerusalem Report. The Jerusalem Report was very much left of center and was accused of being anti-Israel.

4. There's a consensus that Gordon's post was unacceptable, yet support for Hamas, which actually has a charter calling for Jewish genocide, is considered acceptable by groups such as Students for Justice in Palestine.

The hypocrisy is truly stunning.
