Obama heads for the exit while lying compulsively about his accomplishments. Not only did he end all the wars that we are still fighting, but he also improved race relations.
After my election, there was talk of a post-racial America. And such a vision, however well-intended, was never realistic. Race remains a potent and often divisive force in our society. Now, I’ve lived long enough to know that race relations are better than they were 10, or 20, or 30 years ago, no matter what some folks say. (Applause.) You can see it not just in statistics, you see it in the attitudes of young Americans across the political spectrum.
The statistics, as he knows quite well, point to the exact opposite result.
Worries about race relations and negative views of race relations drastically increased under him. Actual statistics show that they have dropped down into the toilet in the last ten years. And the drop covers both black and white responders.
And Obama who has constantly offered polarizing racial messages now tries to accuse his opponents of racism. "If every economic issue is framed as a struggle between a hardworking white middle class and an undeserving minority... If we're unwilling to invest in the children of immigrants, just because they don’t look like us, ... because those brown kids will represent a larger and larger share of America’s workforce."
Never mind that Obama's response to the Trayvon Martin shooting was very much a "Could have been my son" was a "look like me" message. But of course Obama can't be a racist. It's all his opponents who are racists.
Then Obama goes on to deny the existence of black racism.
"When minority groups voice discontent, they’re not just engaging in reverse racism," he says.
The comment sounds innocuous to those who aren't familiar with the ideological vocabulary of the left. The left insists that racism by minorities doesn't exist as racism. Instead it's reverse racism. Which is to say it's not racism really. It's a response to racism. And thus in a separate category. It's a disgusting argument and it shows that beneath Obama's claims to want to understand the rest of the country, he's a left-wing bigot.
