TRANSCRIPT:

I’m Andrew Klavan and this is the Revolting Truth.

The political landscape has changed and now that some time has passed, let’s try to get at the deeper meaning of the midterm elections.

In the final results, Republicans won eleventy hundred Senate seats out of a possible thirty-three, and approximately a gazillion governorships including four in the seven states that only exist in Barack Obama’s imagination. I know many of you untrained amateur political hobbyists out there may feel this means that voters have repudiated the Obama presidency… and then thrown it to the ground and stomped on it… then set it on fire… and then mocked its dying agonies… while feeding the flames with crumpled Hope posters… that once seemed to promise so very, very much and now are only ashes.

And yet President Obama himself says he still believes he has the love of a grateful nation. The nation is Iran but Iranians are people too, some of them.

To separate the facts from the things the president says, let’s turn to the sharp-eyed, clear-eyed, blue-eyed, google-eyed experts who populate the mainstream media. Only their incisive analysis can help us reach the revolting truth.

For instance, the mainstream Washington Post determined that this was a so-called Seinfeld election that was about nothing, whereas the mainstream Daily Beast allowed it was more of a Seinfeld election that was actually about nothing. Mainstream New York magazine said this was really a Seinfeld election about nothing but mainstream columnists at CNN, Huffington Post and USA Today said this looked to them like a Seinfeld election and was about nothing. This, of course, is as opposed to being, say, a screw-off-leftist-jackass election that was about telling leftist jackasses to screw off.

The mainstream New York Times, a former newspaper, ran an op-ed saying there shouldn’t be any mid-term elections, while mainstream ABC, CBS and NBC simply pretended there weren’t any. According to our friends at the Media Research Center, mainstream ABC World News Tonight went seven weeks in September and October without running a single story about the midterms, while mainstream NBC and CBS ran only a tiny percentage of the number of stories they ran before the Democrat midterm victory in 2006. Network news executives were asked why they barely covered the upcoming Republican tsunami but they couldn’t hear the question because they had their fingers in their ears and were singing lalala very loudly.

But in the wake of the crushing, excoriating, devastating, humiliating, crushing and humiliating and devastating and humiliating rejection of Obama and the Democrat agenda, mainstream news commentators were quick to explain how Republicans winning elections meant Republicans were losing elections.

Matthew Dowd from the mainstream ABC News network said the Republican election triumph left the Republican brand “still very damaged,” whereas Jim Vanderhei of the mainstream website Politico said the GOP victory will put the party in “a hell of a jam” and Mika Brzezinski at the extremely mainstream MSNBC said the Republican wave will hurt Republicans because it will “embolden their self-destructive ways.”

And while Republicans did crush the Democrats… and did see them driven before them while hearing the lamentations of their women, Ben Smith of the mainstream website Buzzfeed said the elections meant surprisingly little, while Chris Cillizza at the still mainstream Washington Post called the elections “boring, vapid and inconsequential.” Chris Matthews made the following face.

So there you have it: according to the mainstream media, the midterms were elections about nothing that shouldn’t have been allowed and didn’t really happen but if they did they didn’t matter and Republicans lost them even if they won.

Now some of you may say this sort of election analysis only proves that so-called mainstream journalists are really just a bunch of ideologically corrupt leftist shills seeking to twist the facts to advance an extremist agenda that’s completely out of keeping with the founding principles of the United States.

The Democrats want to trade American jobs to illegal aliens for votes.

Obama’s excuse for his illegal amnesty will be that the immigration system is “broken” forcing him to act. But when Obama says that the system is broken, he means that some parts of it still work and so he intends to break immigration all the way through to benefit his own corrupt political allies.

That will hurt his own voters the most, but the Democratic Party has a notoriously masochistic relationship with its voting base. It beats them up and then it gaslights them by hugging them and telling them that it was really the mean Republicans who punched them in the face.

When African-American unemployment rates rise, the workers who can’t find jobs because of all the brand new DREAMERs won’t blame the White House, they’ll blame the evil Republicans for income inequality, assuming Sharpton manages to read the term correctly from his MSNBC teleprompter.

According to Obama our immigration system is broken because it doesn’t allow illegal aliens who illegally crossed the border to take American jobs. That’s not a broken system, that’s what the system is supposed to do.

When illegal aliens aren’t allowed to legally take American jobs, that’s how you know the immigration system is working.

In the language of progressivism, helping means ruining and fixing means breaking. A system that fulfills any useful purpose must be reformed out of all usefulness. If the tattered shreds of the immigration system still keep a single Democratic voter from legally cashing a welfare check and casting a vote, then immigration must be reformed and helped and fixed until it is completely destroyed.

The immigration system is broken because it was reformed so many times that it makes as much sense as an outhouse on a space shuttle. Its main function now is to bring millions of people without jobs to a country where millions are out of work. Obama wants to fix that by adding millions more people.

Our system of immigration is a perfectly good system for importing lots of low wage workers. The only problem is they’re being imported into a country where there are a lot more low wage workers than there are jobs. The cost of providing food stamps and social services for the immigrants and the Americans they put out of work is passed on to the shrinking middle class which kills more jobs.

Some Republicans would like to modify it to help Mark Zuckerberg bring cheaper third world programmers and engineers to replace the Americans over at Facebook. Why settle for just wiping out the working class, when you can also take out chunks of the middle class?

Our immigration system made perfect sense back when we were opening factories everywhere. It made sense when new ranches needed hands and land needed working. It makes a lot less sense when the government is fighting a war on carbon, when ranches have to get out of the way of the spotted red toad and farms are starved of water in the name of the environment.

The million immigrants a year are not entering booming industries, but serving as cheap labor in declining ones. And they’re doing it in a country where declining industries and poor workers are already being subsidized by taxpayers in a dozen different ways. Why then should taxpayers also be subsidizing the replacement of American workers with Somali and Honduran workers?

Who benefits from that except the Democratic Party which not only killed the industries, but is now managing to kill the American workforce? The glorious future of the new economy is a government subsidized Chinese factory using foreign workers to make subsidized solar panels in Oklahoma while taxpayers remain on the hook for the subsidies which used bonds sold to Chinese investors.

Declining industries tighten their belts by cutting costs. They find the cheapest employees they can. Those cheapest employees become a constituency for the nanny state. The nanny state makes it even more expensive to operate. The cycle spins on until the only industries left are state subsidized and everyone directly or indirectly works for the state. And the only items of collateral with which to borrow more money to subsidize them with are the land and the people. That’s not America. That’s Africa.

The Obama economy has created mostly low wage jobs. Those jobs continue to be filled by immigrants. There still aren’t enough jobs so Obama is proposing to create even less jobs by adding more immigrants by legalizing more illegal aliens.

There is something broken here, but it’s not so much immigration as Obama and his party.

Last week I spoke to a British immigration lawyer who described how difficult it was for seniors in the United Kingdom to retire in the United States. While most countries welcome wealthy retirees, our system makes it difficult for them to move and bring their money over here.

Meanwhile in his 2013 State of the Union address, Obama had praised Desiline Victor, a 102-year-old Haitian woman who had moved to the United States at around 80 and never learned to speak English, but did spend hours waiting in line in Florida to vote for Obama. There are plenty of senior immigrants coming through family reunification for a big bite of a social welfare system they never paid into.

But the Democratic Party would rather have a voter than a worker. And so what we have is not an immigration system, but a migration system.

That’s why Obama and his people fought so hard against an Ebola travel ban. It’s why the New York Times editorialized against allowing Cuban doctors to defect because of the “brain drain” but instead urged that “American immigration policy should give priority to the world’s neediest refugees.”

America certainly takes in plenty of needy people, but what the New York Times is emphasizing is that we should be taking in people with nothing to contribute and keeping out those who do. Its ideal immigrant will at best be a low wage worker and at worst a permanent welfare case. We don’t want Cuban doctors. We want Somali muggers and Liberian Ebola cases and Pakistani terrorists.

Immigration is not meant to serve American interests. America is meant to serve immigration.

The end result of this immigration policy will be a stratified society with a permanent lower class and a thin upper class whose leftists can always start a riot by shouting about income equality without ever being able to offer it. Without social mobility what we will have left is social instability. There will be lots of young men with time on their hands to build bombs or throw stones.

If the left doesn’t win through the system, they’ll have their revolutionary constituency standing by.

The only way we can afford the immigration policy that we have now is with a lot more industry and a lot less welfare. Instead our immigration rates were widened and rerouted to the Third World even as our actual industries declined. We kept on taking workers we didn’t have jobs for. We built ghettoes and rust belts and our politicians kept on reciting robotic speeches about being a nation of immigrants.

Immigration requires opportunity. We still have it, but less of it than we used to. Our immigration system is not based on opportunity. It’s based on a migratory flow of Democratic Party voters.

What broke the system was making it as open as possible to those who had the least to offer while closing it tightly to those who had the most to offer. Now Obama wants to import illegal aliens while deporting American jobs. He wants to trade American jobs to illegal aliens for Democratic votes.

If the immigration system is to work again, it should work for America… not for Obama.

Beating up on white women won’t change that.

The left isn’t known for being a good loser. The Democrats had counted on women to be their ace in the hole in the election. Now lefty media outlets are lashing out at women.

“White women didn’t just fail Wendy Davis — they failed the rest of Texas,” Salon bellows. That would be the rest of Texas which also voted against Davis. “Married white women… failed Wendy Davis,” another lefty site declares.

It never occurs to the left that Wendy Davis might have failed white women and that they might have rejected her because she had nothing to actually offer them.

In the left’s warped tyranny of ideology, their politicians don’t fail the people. The people fail them. Obama and Davis are always right. It’s up to the people to prove that they’re good enough for a Barack Obama or a Wendy Davis. If they are, the media will pat them on the head for voting the right way. If they aren’t, they’ll be blamed for thinking the wrong way and failing their rightful rulers.

East German authorities had warned that the government had “lost confidence in the people”. Now that white voters have lost confidence in the Democratic Party, the Party is announcing that they failed it.

The left doesn’t listen to people. It tells them what to think. If they don’t agree, then they have failed it.

White women are the latest punching bag for the Democratic Party’s humiliating defeat even though the previous election should have been a warning sign that even the white voters that the left treats as its property were drifting away. Romney had won white women in every age group and the Jewish vote had dropped. If the Dems couldn’t rely on the friendlier portions of the white vote, they were in trouble.

White voters felt that Obama and his party had failed them. Exit polls showed no confidence in the future. Instead of trying to connect with them, the Democratic Party doubled down on identity politics sloganeering. Obama had won anyway which proved that white voters didn’t matter. Not when a sizable turnout and a disproportionate voting tilt by minority voters could politically erase a more moderate tilt among white voters. It didn’t matter if you were losing the white vote by 12 percent if you were winning the black vote by 90 percent. The model had worked for Obama, but it didn’t work for his party.

The shift in the white vote proved to be politically deadly. The 90/12 formula depended on a large minority turnout and a weak white turnout. It also assumed that there wouldn’t be a bigger and deeper shift among white voters.

What happened had nothing to do with a black president. It had to do with using community organizing techniques to win elections. The same racial polarization that brought in black voters also alienated white voters. While the Democrats were selling a narrative of Republican extinction, they were the ones whose extremist identity politics were forcing them into a narrow demographic corner.

Obama won by turning out his base and turning off what used to be his party’s base. The more he committed to racial polarization, the weaker his position with white voters became.

The working class white voter had come to be ignored and disparaged by a Democratic Party that envisioned a new electoral politics based on demographic change and welfare voters coming out to protect their privileges and challenge the “disrespect for our president”. The new slogans of the Democratic Party spoke to a rainbow coalition culture of angry minorities and Sandra Flukes who were constantly demanding things while the Democratic Party’s original base was left by the side of the road.

Working class white voters did not shut out Democrats. The Democrats shut them out.

The Democrats took their positions, such as opposition to coal or support for gun control, as a given and no longer even acknowledged the existence of voters who disagreed. The results were inevitable.

There are now more black Republicans in Congress than there are white Democrats from the Deep South. The War on Coal may have been won at the policy level by the EPA, but the blowback has forced Democrats out of coal country.

In a profound admission of political failure, Democratic consultants are dropping quotes about learning to talk to white voters again. Should a mostly white party really have that much trouble talking to white people? But the white people they’re talking about don’t have much in common with their political establishment of Ivy League grads obsessed with diversity for whom “white people” is a contemptuous punchline. Diversity devalued the existence of white people. Elitist smugness shut out the working class.

The white women who “failed” Wendy Davis didn’t have much in common with her, despite a fictionalized biography of struggle, or with her message which centered on an ideological dog whistle that penetrated loudly and shrilly in Berkeley or Portland, but fell flat in much of Texas.

Voting is as cultural as it is political. Anti-abortion is progressive code for Christian fundamentalist. To the shock of a lot of Blue State media types, this code not only doesn’t work that well in a Red State, but its covert political payload isn’t a bad thing in a place where religion is an organizing principle for communities in the way that virtual fandoms, hobbies and progressive politics can be in a Blue State.

Democratic political consultants didn’t ask themselves why they thought that declaring a Blue State culture war in a Red State was supposed to be a winning formula. Or why women in Colorado or Texas would want to put a lefty culture war pitched in shrill tones ahead of their own economic concerns.

And it’s the economy that is still the issue.

White women in Texas “failed” Wendy Davis because they weren’t interested in an Emily’s List sideshow of pink sneakers, they wanted economic security. White voters failed the Democrats because they weren’t interested in their menu of culture wars. What they wanted was the return of a better life.

And a better life is the one thing that Democrats can’t deliver as affordable health care turned out to be very expensive and every year’s bold new jobs program has consisted of worthless pork.

The Republican Party’s formula for a majority-minority party looks better now than the Democratic Party’s formula for a minority-majority party. Without Obama on the ballot, the Democrats have to confront the possibility that they might be caught without minority turnout or white voters. And that leaves them with nothing. Nothing is what they ended up with in this election.

White voters didn’t fail the Democrats. The Democrats failed white voters.

Yesterday Regnery published The Great Betrayal, a book I have written to mark a watershed moment not only in the War on Terror, which is really a war against the Islamic Jihad, but a watershed moment in American history. The events and controversies chronicled in The Great Betrayal describe an unprecedented defection by a major political party from an American war in progress, and a five- year effort by that party to sabotage the war and undermine America’s troops in the field.

The Democrats’ campaign against the war in Iraq was very different from their opposition to the war in Vietnam, which came after American troops had been in the field for more than a decade and both parties had agreed on a withdrawal. In contrast, the watershed moment in Iraq came in June 2003, when the war was little more than three months old and American troops were facing a ferocious resistance from terrorist forces. In that month the Democratic Party ran a national TV ad accusing Bush of lying about Saddam’s determination to build weapons of mass destruction, including nuclear weapons.

The focus of the Democrats’ attack was sixteen words in Bush’s State of the Union Address in which he referred to a British report that Saddam Hussein was attempting to buy yellow cake uranium in Niger. The statement was true, but a massive campaign in the leftwing media along with the Democrats’ imputation that Bush had lied about the rationale for the war began a five-year effort to slander America’s commander-in-chief and condemn the war in Iraq as illegal, immoral and unnecessary. The consequences of these attacks can be seen in the emergence of ISIS in the vacuum created by the Democrat-led withdrawal from the region, the slaughter of hundreds of thousands of Muslims and Christians in Iraq, Syria and Libya and the creation of 18 million refugees in six-year tenure of the “anti-war” president, Barack Obama.

Why did the Democrats turn against a war they had authorized and why did they accuse Bush of deceiving the American people (“Bush lied, people died”)? Not because of anything that had taken place on the battlefield in Iraq. The Democrats turned against the war because an anti-war activist named Howard Dean was set to win the Democratic presidential primary – which happened to coincide with the invasion – by a wide margin. It was Dean’s surge in the polls that caused John Kerry and John Edwards who eventually became the Democratic standard bearers to do an about face, repudiate their previous support of the war, and turn on the president as the chief culprit in the conflict rather than the sadistic tyrant Saddam Hussein. The Democrats even lied about the rationale for the war which was not the existence of weapons of mass destruction but Saddam’s violation of the Gulf War truce and 17 UN Resolutions designed to prevent him from building weapons of mass destruction.

Why did the Democrats claim – falsely – that Bush lied about the reasons for the war? Because the Democrats could not admit that they were turning against a war they themselves had authorized for partisan political gain, undoubtedly the most shameful act by a major political party in the nation’s history.

The Democrats went on to conduct a five-year scorched earth campaign against America’s war in Iraq, which was in effect the central front of the war on terror, as the creation of an Islamic terrorist state has since shown. Democrats did not merely oppose the war but slandered the president as a liar and war criminal, defended the leaks of national security programs (which led to their destruction), converted a minor incident in the Abu Ghraib prison into an international scandal which was then used to defame their country and demoralize its troops, and actively sought to defund the war effort in Congress and force an American defeat. They eventually succeeded in this effort by nominating a leftwing anti-war activist who upon reaching the White House proceeded to make America’s defeat in Iraq a fait accompli, thus creating the vacuum that ISIS has filled.

Did Bush lie about Iraq’s possession of weapons of mass destruction as the Democrats claimed? The discovery by ISIS of 2200 rockets filled with Sarin that Saddam had buried explodes this myth, which has been wielded for over a decade by America’s enemies and detractors to undermine the war on terror. Could Bush have lied about the intelligence on Iraq? Hardly. Democrats like John Kerry sat on the intelligence committees and had access to every piece of information that Bush did.

It was Kerry and his running mate Edwards who lied, and the entire Democratic Party leadership along with them. And it’s in Syria and the Levant, Afghanistan and Iraq that our country is now paying the price for this treachery and deceit. And soon, if our military leaders have assessed the threat correctly, we will be paying for their treachery here at home.

Eleven disturbing voter fraud facts leftists pretend not to know.

With a perfectly straight face, Barack Obama recently told Al Sharpton’s National Action Network that “the real voter fraud is the people who try to deny our [voting] rights by making bogus arguments about voter fraud.” Eric Holder likewise contends, without even a hint of a grin, that voter ID laws are merely “political efforts” designed to make it “more difficult” for nonwhite minorities to “have access to the ballot.” And Hillary Clinton, too, casually dismisses voter fraud as a “phantom epidemic” that exists chiefly in the imagination of conservatives. Democrat consultant Donna Brazile puts it more colorfully, calling charges of voter fraud “a big ass lie.”

As they twist their faces into pained and pious countenances to give the appearance of passion and sincerity, these four individuals—along with all the other leading Democrats who invariably spout the same tripe—have only one significant thing in common: None of them actually believe even a word that they say about the rarity of voter fraud or the alleged injustice of voter ID requirements. In the privacy of their hearts, their efforts are devoted chiefly to refraining from laughing out loud at the absurd stupidities that they parrot ceaselessly—like Eric Holder’s claim that voter ID requirements are the equivalent of “poll taxes.” If the Democrats were honest, they would simply say the following:

We are moral crusaders who believe that the conservative vision of the world is evil beyond measure, and that our vision of an ever-expanding central government that controls the economy, regulates every aspect of people’s lives, and redistributes everyone’s wealth and property as we deem appropriate, is by far the better course. And because our objectives are so much better for humankind as a whole, we are resolutely committed to using any means at our disposal to achieve them. Thus we will deceive, lie, cheat, and steal anything—including elections. That’s why we’re not at all ashamed of playing the role of imbeciles when we promote the vapid idiocies that we cite as reasons to oppose voter ID laws.

But instead of making honest declarations like these, the Democrats instead pretend to be unaware of very well-known facts like the following:

•A 2012 report by the Pew Center on the States found that 24 million voter registrations—an incredible one-eighth of all registrations nationwide—were either invalid or inaccurate, including almost 3 million people who were registered in more than one state, and more than 1.8 million dead people who were still registered.

•A 2014 study found that two years earlier, some 155,692 registered voters in North Carolina alone had first and last names, birth dates, and final four Social Security number digits that matched those of voters who were registered in other states.

•The same study also found that 35,570 people who had actually voted in North Carolina, had first names, last names, and birth dates dates that matched those of voters who had cast ballots in other states.

•On election day 2013, undercover agents from New York City’s Department of Investigations (DOI) went to 63 different polling places and assumed the names of individuals who were ineligible to vote because they had either died, moved out of town, or been incarcerated. In 61 of the 63 instances, or 97% of the time, the agents were allowed to vote.

•In 2008, Democrat Al Franken won a highly controversial U.S. Senate race in Minnesota by just 312 votes. It was later discovered that 1,099 felons—all legally ineligible to vote—had nonetheless cast ballots in the election, almost exclusively for Franken. Consider this: Without Franken, the Democrats would not have had the 60 Senate votes they needed in order to pass Obamacare in 2010.

•A 2006 study found 77,000 dead people listed on New York’s statewide database of registered voters, and many of them had somehow managed to cast ballots from the grave. One Bronx address in particular was identified as the home of as many as 191 of these registered voter-corpses.

•In Milwaukee in 2004, approximately 5,300 more ballots were cast than voters who were recorded as having shown up at the polls.

•In 2008, election officials nationwide had to discard at least 400,000 bogus voter registrations submitted by ACORN, the infamous, Obama-affiliated criminal operation masquerading as a “community organization.” No one knows how many other invalid registrations were never detected.

•In 2011, a Colorado study found that of the nearly 12,000 non-citizens who were registered to vote in that state, about 5,000 had taken part in the 2010 general election.

•In ten Colorado counties in 2012, voter registrations outnumbered the total voting-age population by between 4% and 40%.

•In a forthcoming article in the journal Electoral Studies, university professors Jesse Richman and David Earnest conclude that a significant number of non-citizens—who support Democrats about 80% of the time—vote in U.S. elections, and that “their participation can change the outcome of close races.”

These examples represent only the barest tip of a colossal iceberg. And Obama, Holder, Hillary, and the rest of the Democrats know all about it, just like you and I know all about it. They really aren’t dumb enough to believe any of the things they say about voter fraud and voter ID. They’re just counting on voters being dumb enough to believe them. It’s that simple.

An autopsy report shatters a leftist lie designed to pocket black votes.

Reprinted from DailyCaller.com.

Everyone who hasn’t drunk the progressive Kool-Aid is aware that during elections Democrats resort to the race card to scare African Americans, for whose intelligence they have limitless contempt, into voting for them. If Republicans are elected, their propaganda claims, “black churches will burn” or the racial clock will be turned back to the era of segregation, an era that Democrats happen to have been directly responsible for.

This year it’s the mythical threat white policeman allegedly pose to black youth, as Democrats and their media enablers encourage a “lynch mob” mentality — as Howard Kurtz put it recently — in a desperate attempt to pocket black votes.

A flyer distributed by the Georgia Democratic Party (Ferguson is in Missouri) warns:

“On August 9, 2014, an unarmed 18-year old African-American named Michael Brown was fatally shot six times and killed by a white police officer, his body left in a pool of blood for four hours. Ferguson Missouri’s population is 67% African-American. But the city’s mayor, 5 of its 6 city council members, and 94% of its police force are white. What are we going to do about it? If we want a better, safer future for our children, it’s up to us to vote for change.”

Note first that this flyer was distributed in Georgia, not Missouri. In other words, according to Democrats: Republicans everywhere are racists. Moreover, if 67 percent of Ferguson citizens are black and they elect a white mayor and city council members shouldn’t that be applauded as a sign that they are committed to America’s inclusive ideal, and are not voting along racial lines? Wouldn’t Democrats be saying that if white majority populations were voting for blacks (as they in fact do)? Once again the claim that this reflects white racism is itself a racist claim, one that is typical of self-hating progressive whites.

The flyer’s timing couldn’t have been worse. The just released autopsy report shows that Michael Brown was only unarmed because he failed to wrestle Officer Darren Wilson’s gun from his holster, when he attacked Officer Wilson in his police car. How many innocent citizens attack a policeman in his police car and attempt to grab his gun from him?

According to the very liberal St. Louis Post Dispatch, “A source familiar with Wilson’s version of events, as told to investigators, said the ‘incredibly strong’ teen punched Wilson and then pressed the barrel of the cop’s gun against the officer’s hip and fought for control of the trigger.” You think the officer might have been in fear for his life after that?

The autopsy report further shows that Michael Brown’s hands were not in the air in a posture of surrender when he was shot – as the Ferguson lynch mob claims — but that the 6’4” 292lb individual was advancing on the much smaller officer, less than twenty feet away. In other words, the autopsy report supports Officer Wilson’s claims that there was a violent struggle and that he shot Wilson first with the intent to warn him to stop and finally – when he failed to do so — to stop him.

Instead it taps at the virtual pages of the paper of record on the appropriate app, nods its head at having its prejudices confirmed and moves on.

And that is why the Elizabeth Warren political express remains convinced that a wealthy professor and government insider who occasionally says all the approved things about Wall Street that Obama used to say is the Democratic Party’s best hope for connecting with the youth, women and the working class.

Actual polling though shows that Warren has twice as much support among the $50,000 and over group than she does at the under $50,000 level. Warren is also least popular with 18-29 year olds. She’s so unpopular with them that even seniors, a traditionally conservative group, like her more than they do.

Class warfare is a game for those with money. The family that is just scraping by doesn’t have the time to worry about how many times their annual salaries a CEO makes. Envying billionaires is the occupation of millionaires. Envying them is the occupation of the upper end of the middle class.

Elizabeth Warren reminds most teens and twenty-somethings of a particularly boring professor who combines insincerity with obtuseness because that is exactly what she is. Those most concerned about her solutions for student loan debt are Educrats and financiers smelling another windfall bailout.

Not only does Warren fail with the blue collar voter and the young voter, but she even suffers from a gender gap. Warren is more popular with men than with women. And she’s also more popular with white than non-white voters.

Instead of being some kind of revolutionary, Elizabeth Warren’s main appeal is to rich white men.

Her 2012 victory didn’t prove that she was popular. Warren just happened to be the beneficiary of Obama’s turnout demographics. In exit polls, she won a decisive majority among voters who said that they were voting for whomever their party’s candidate happened to be, but lost badly among voters who said that they were looking for an “honest and trustworthy” candidate.

Warren lost moderates and independents. She just happened to be a blue candidate in a blue state.

The makeup of the electorate consisted of 60% Obama voters and 38% Romney voters. Warren won by far less than Obama did and held on to only 85% of the Obama votes. Not only doesn’t Warren hold the secret to appealing to disaffected voters, but she couldn’t even manage to hang on to all of the Obama votes in liberal Massachusetts. Compare that to only 3% of Romney voters who defected to Warren.

But political wishful thinking isn’t limited to the Democratic Party. The Republican Party has some serious thinking to do about its candidates.

The Chris Christie presidential express is just as delusional as the Elizabeth Warren campaign train to nowhere. Warren and Christie are party darlings whose local election wins in blue states were wrongly generalized into national potential because of the new ways of connecting to voters that they seemed to represent. No one bothered to ask which voters they were connecting to and how reliably.

Among Republicans, Christie picks up 17% percent of the votes of those making over $50,000 but only 5% among those making under $50,000. No other candidate has a gap this big. On the other side of the dial, Jeb Bush largely leads because of support from the under $50,000 demographic. Without them, he shows up only in fourth place. Ted Cruz does twice as well among the under than over $50,000 voters.

These numbers provide no easy answers, but they should lead to some serious thinking. While candidates like Marco Rubio and Rand Paul beat the drum for broadening the party through diversity, they perform far worse among the under $50,000 vote than the over $50,000 vote. It’s easy to dismiss such numbers, but they haunted Mitt Romney in the primaries when he lost blue collar voters to Santorum or Gingrich only to slide by on wealthier voters and they then hurt him in the general election.

Obama would not have gotten a second term if Republicans had been better at white working class voter turnout. The Elizabeth Warren threat may have proven to be as phony as her Native American heritage, but that doesn’t mean that the Democrats won’t be able to find a winning candidate.

The Republicans have spent the last two elections and the current election campaigning on Obama’s failures. By 2016 they will longer be able to run against Obama the way that the Democrats lost the ability to run against Bush. The Republican Party will face new challenges despite never having mastered the old challenges of the Obama years. The GOP still remains a party with an identity crisis.

The Democratic Party lied its way across its own identity crisis. Elizabeth Warren, a millionaire lawyer campaigning for the underclass, an overpaid professor promising to help students and a member of a white elite passing as a Native American, represents everything hypocritical and contradictory about it.

Elizabeth Warren is the Democratic Party; a party of rich white liberals pretending to be diverse activists for the working class. It’s a scam made possible by allies running a powerful embedded media operation.

The Republican Party can’t pull a Warren. It faces a trio of former Republicans in Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden and Elizabeth Warren who moved on to become compulsive liars. Confronting one set of opportunistic Blue State Democrats with another set of opportunistic Blue State Republicans is a formula for failure. There’s a reason that opportunists like Biden and Warren left the Republicans behind to become Democrats. The Democratic Party offers unlimited corruption with no accountability.

The Republican Party’s identity crisis is its advantage. It can still rethink its establishment and listen to ordinary Americans. It doesn’t have to believe the latest nonsense making the rounds in Washington.

The opportunity is there.

Hillary Clinton, like Elizabeth Warren, is on shaky terms with younger voters. Her attempts to connect with blue collar voters torpedoed her book tour. The only difference between Clinton and Warren is that Hillary has Bill as a campaign asset. Otherwise they’re practically the same phony person.

Americans aren’t looking for another representative of the establishment slumming with occasional slams at Wall Street before heading off to a Wall Street fundraiser. They want authenticity.

If Republicans put forward their own version of Elizabeth Warren, they will be betting that they can still run against Obama in 2016. It may be a bet that they and the rest of the country will lose.

A staggering 68 percent of Democrats consider global climate change a greater threat to the United States than either Al Qaeda at 67 percent, or ISIS at 65 percent. By contrast, 80 percent of Republicans cited Al Qaeda as the principal threat facing the nation, followed by 78 percent citing ISIS, and only 25 percent expressing concern about global climate change. Among Independents, Al Qaeda led the way at 69 percent, followed by ISIS at 63 percent, and global climate change bringing up the rear at 44 percent.

The survey addressed nine categories, including Iran’s nuclear program; China’s emergence as a nuclear power; the Israeli-Palestinian conflict; extremist groups like Al Qaeda; Islamic militant groups like ISIS; North Korea’s nuclear program; growing tension between Russia and her neighbors; the country-to-country speed of infectious diseases; and global climate change.

For Democrats, global climate change was concern Number One. For both Republicans and Independents, it came in dead last.

Such findings should surprise no one. Global climate change has assumed a cult-like status among the American left, one that not only transcends scientific reality, but engenders an unseemly level of rage directed at skeptics, and a monumental level of hypocrisy among its adherents.

The scientific reality has been scarred by politics. The United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) admits that many of their hypotheses are based on “best guess” assumptions. Yet those best guess assumptions have consistently over-estimated the amount of warming, with predictions far exceeding that which is actually taking place. We are currently in a global warming “pause” that has exceeded 17 years. Yet even if one goes back to 1979, when satellite instruments began to consistently measure temperatures in the Earth’s lower atmosphere, the overall temperature rise has been approximately one-third of one degree Celsius, or approximately one degree Celsius per century. Since 1990, IPCC computer models have predicted at least 2.4 degrees of global warming per century, almost two-and-a-half times the actual amount.

Perhaps such measurements are honest mistakes. Or perhaps not. In 2009, the Climategate scandal revealed scientists at the University of East Anglia’s Climatic Research Unit conspired to suppress data that conflicted with their apparently preconceived conclusions. According to Real Science blogger Steven Goddard, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) has also been involved data manipulation, replacing real temperature readings with data compiled on computers. And much to Al Gore’s chagrin, the Arctic ice cap he predicted in 2007 could be “gone in summer in as little as seven years,” has now expanded two years in a row by as much as 43 to 62 precent, depending how one measures it.

None of these inconvenient realities (and countless others) are presented to entirely dismiss the notion that global temperatures may be increasing, but rather to demonstrate that among leftists, hysteria and fear-mongering remain an integral part of the climate change debate.

It is hysteria and fear-mongering that demands any skepticism whatsoever must be threatened. Thus when Swedish climatologist Dr. Lennart Bengtsson expressed his own reservations about climate change, his fellow colleagues turned him into a pariah that made it impossible “to conduct my normal work and ….even start to worry about my health and safety,” he said in letter explaining his resignation from a London think tank—not because he questioned global warming, but because he challenged the rate of change demanded by the dogmatists.

On Monday, Robert Kennedy Jr. epitomized the left’s determination to silence the doubters, insisting there should be a law allowing authorities to punish skeptics who are “selling out the public trust,” even as he accused the left’s favorite target, the Koch Brothers, of engaging in climate “treason.” Getting even more hysterical, Kennedy stated that the Kochs should be thrown in “the Hague with all the other war criminals.” Yet when a reporter confronted Kennedy about his own rather large carbon footprint, he became irate and accused her of “destroying democracy,” before stating that he does not believe quality of life should sacrificed for the environment.

The exchange highlights the glaring hypocrisy that animates Kennedy, Al Gore, Leonardo DiCaprio, Mark Ruffalo, and a host of other celebrities and politicians more than willing to talk the talk, as they conspicuously avoid walking the walk. Even the 300,000 marchers who took part in New York’s “People’s Climate March” Monday were apparently unconcerned by the tons of non-biodegradable garbage they left behind in their wake. Furthermore, it’s quite easy for jet-setting, yacht-squatting celebrities to pontificate about preserving one’s “lifestyle”—as long as one is willing to ignore the reality that millions of people’s lives depend upon the economic development that requires energy expansion.

In a speech yesterday at the United Nations, President Obama addressed party’s favorite issue, warning the developing nations of the world that, because of global warming, they cannot repeat the “dirty phase” of industrial development. According to a fact sheet from the White House’s Office of the Press Secretary, the president’s initiatives include an “Executive Order on Climate-Resilient International Development, requiring agencies to factor climate-resilience considerations systematically into the U.S. government’s international development work and to promote a similar approach with multilateral entities.”

That didn’t sit particularly well with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), with one insider characterizing such considerations as “an unnecessary hurdle” to leap over during emergencies that require urgency. On Monday the CDC offered up a sobering example of such urgency, predicting that as many as 1.4 million people could be affected by the Ebola outbreak by January of next year.

Furthermore, the multilateral entities to which Obama referred don’t include India and China. Both countries decided to ignore yesterday’s UN Climate Summit, despite being responsible for one-third of the total carbon emissions in 2013. Both nations have little interest in curbing their emissions until the United States and the European Union offer “substantial incentives” for doing so. Their resistance is likely exacerbated by the reality that the Green Climate Fund, established by the UN at the 2010 talks in Cancun to finance green energy projects in Third World nations, has failed to get off the ground. Absent the transfer of wealth from rich nations to developing nations this fund represents, there is little likelihood of either nation jumping on board the “green” bandwagon anytime soon.

In the meantime, Democrats’ “less-urgent” national security priorities have forced the Obama administration’s hand. A bombing campaign was initiated in Syria Monday, driven in large part by the reality that a virtually unknown group of al Qaeda affiliated terrorists called the Khorasan Group “was in the final stages of plans to execute major attacks against Western targets and potentially the U.S. homeland,” according to Lt. Gen. William Mayville, the director of operations for the Joint Chiefs of Staff. American officials contend the group, comprised of al Qaeda operatives from the Middle East, South Asia and North Africa, is even more intent on initiating domestic terror attacks than ISIS is. Moreover, they have a special affinity for terrorists plots involving concealed explosives.

ISIS may disagree. In a 42-minute speech released Monday, ISIS spokesman Abu Muhammad Adnani called on Western Muslims to perpetrate domestic attacks in a series of “lone wolf” operations. “Do not ask for anyone’s advice and do not seek anyone’s verdict,” Adnani said. “Kill the infidel, whether he is civilian or military for they have the same ruling. Both of them are disbelievers.”

One is left to wonder whether Democrat “true believers,” who view global climate change as a greater threat than Islamic terror, are swayed by the possibility of “imminent” domestic terror attacks. Perhaps they need reminding that 9/11 was a “two-fer,” as in a terrorist attack that also precipitated an environmental disaster in Lower Manhattan. Nor does it take much of an imagination to envision the “environmental impact” of a “dirty” bomb, or outright nuke, detonated in an American city. It takes even less of an imagination to know how a majority of Americans would view the warped priories of Democrats if Islamic terrorists make good on any of their murderous designs. Perhaps that majority should remember those priorities in November.

Reprinted from Washington Times.

Republicans are going to dominate the midterm elections, but it would be a foolish gamble to count on them to win the 2016 presidential contest. Why is that? Democrats are now a party of the left (no more John Kennedys, no more Joe Liebermans). That means they are driven by ideology and not the pragmatic outlook that used to be the two-party norm.

Ideology soon disconnects you from reality, which is why Democrats will lose in November — that’s the downswing. During the upswing, though, ideological passion provides a sense of mission and hope that can win over gullible majorities.

In 2008, when Barack Obama promised to turn back the tides and fundamentally transform America, he took enough of the American people with him to become the 44th president of the United States. It was a baseless, deceptive, empty-headed hope that made him seem the answer to so many unfounded prayers. Mr. Obama was a lifelong anti-American radical and a world-class liar. He was not going to lead Americans into a post-racial bipartisan future as he promised. It has taken years for a majority of the American people to realize that.

Republicans will win the midterms because six years of radical policies have brought this country low — the worst economic recovery since the Great Depression; the worst unemployment and greatest expansion of people on the dole; an ongoing disaster to the health care system; the destruction of America’s borders; and a global power vacuum deliberately created by a leftist commander in chief, which has been filled by the greatest threat to American security since the onset of the Cold War.

Accordingly, in this election cycle the American people are fed up, and they’re going to turn out the party responsible. That is just this round, though, and there are two years until the next one — a lifetime, politically speaking. Mr. Obama is not an aberration, but a culmination of what has been happening to the Democratic Party during the last four decades. If Mr. Obama is prepared to lie to conceal his real agenda, so is the leadership of the Democratic Party. Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, a longtime advocate for America’s retreat, has suddenly emerged as a hawk on the Islamic State, as has Hillary Clinton, who presided over America’s catastrophic retreat. While Mr. Obama struggles to make the two sides of his mouth look like one, both Ms. Warren and Mrs. Clinton rush to disassociate themselves from his cowardly retreats. You can expect the Democrats to reposition themselves on many other fronts as well.

Going into the 2016 election, you can count on Republicans to stay “positive,” to emphasize policy, and above all, not to hit the Democrats where it hurts. You can also count on Democrats to do just the opposite. Because they always do.

Mike Tyson once said, “Everyone has a game plan until you punch them in the mouth.” Democrats have a massive punch in the mouth for Republicans, and it’s always the same punch. Republicans are painted as racists, sexists, homophobes, anti-poor people, selfish and uncaring. Note that this is a moral indictment. It defames the character of Republicans like the corporate predator and dog-abuser Mitt Romney.

The only answer to an attack like this is to attack Democrats with an equally potent indictment of their moral character. For example, Democrats are actually the party of racists — supporters of the lynch mob in Ferguson, Mo.; controllers of America’s inner cities; enemies of poor black and Hispanic children trapped in the public schools they control; and so forth. No Republican to my knowledge has ever called Democrats racists, yet the latter send their own kids to private schools while denying children who are poor, black and Hispanic the right to do so. How racist is that? Al Sharpton is the president’s chief adviser on race. Republicans will never lay a glove on him for these obscenities.

I have just published a book, “Take No Prisoners: The Battle Plan for Defeating the Left,” using these principles. I’m not holding my breath that any Republicans will listen, though. They are too intent on telling positive “stories,” proposing workable policies and pretending that people will give them a fair hearing despite the fact that their opposition is spending hundreds of millions of dollars to portray them as racists, women haters and enemies of the poor. How difficult is it to understand this: If you are perceived by voters as racist or even just selfish and uncaring, they are not going to have the same interest in your policy advice, as Mr. Romney found out in 2012.

Here is what Republicans need to understand to win: Politics is a street war, and there are no referees to maintain the rules — and the ones that infrequently pop up (such as CNN’s Candy Crowley during one of the last presidential debates) are there to bury you. Attack your opponents before they attack you. Attack them with a moral indictment; if well-executed, it will win the day.

And remember that even if you fail to do this to them, they will certainly do it to you. You can count on that.

Should the Democrats be held accountable for alienating white voters?

Hardly a week goes by without some Democratic Party hack putting finger to iPad and swiping out a screed about the Republican Party’s problem with women or minorities.

This week it was Debbie Wasserman Schultz with “The GOP’s Woman Problem.”

Schultz claims that the Republican Party was “rejected again by a bloc of voters that make up more than half of the electorate.” That claim is as real as Schultz’s hair color. The only bloc that rejected Romney was the same bloc that rejected Hillary; the bloc of minority voters who came out in force for Obama.

And unless Hillary Clinton also had a “woman problem” they didn’t do it over gender.

For example in the South Carolina Democratic primary, Obama beat Hillary among women by 54 to 30. That’s a much bigger split than the one between Obama and Romney among women. While Hillary Clinton beat Obama among white voters, Obama won 78 percent of the black vote.

There was no gender gap. There was a racial gap.

Throughout her campaign, Hillary Clinton consistently won the votes of white women in large numbers and lost the votes of women who said that their gender was not important. Obama won the female vote by his largest margins in southern states because he wasn’t really winning by gender, he was benefiting from a large turnout of black women.

Obama won the female vote in Georgia by 32%, but Hillary won 62% of the white female vote. Obama however had won 87% of the black female vote. In Ohio, Hillary and Obama had nearly the same split, but Hillary won the female vote in Ohio by 16% because the racial makeup of the voters was different.

In 2012, Romney won 53% of the white female vote and 3% of the black female vote in Ohio. He didn’t lose women. He lost the same “bloc of voters” that had rejected Hillary, not over gender, but over race.

The Republican Party doesn’t have a “woman problem.” Romney won the votes of white women in every age group; including young women. And Obama lost white women as he did all white voters.

He lost white voters by 59% to 39%. He lost white voters of every age and gender. His loss among white voters was completely unprecedented for any winner of a presidential election.

The GOP doesn’t have a “woman problem”, but the Democrats have a “white woman problem” and a “white man problem.”

The articles about the GOP’s problem with minority voters blame the Republican Party for alienating minority voters. But shouldn’t the Democratic Party be held accountable for alienating white voters?

This is about more than just numbers.

The Democratic Party’s poor performance among white voters is leading it to engage in some very questionable behavior. If Obama and his party weren’t polling so poorly among white voters, it’s doubtful that the Democrats would be nakedly exploiting racial tensions in Ferguson in the hopes of turning out black voters for the midterm elections.

This isn’t a conspiracy theory. It’s a New York Times article which describes how the Democrats are hoping to retain control of the Senate “as they urge black voters to channel their anger by voting Democratic in the midterm elections.”

A race riot at the polls isn’t the political strategy of a legitimate party, but the Democrats are legitimately panicking because they have lost white voters.

Obama’s approval rating among young white voters, a group that came out for him in 2008, was at 28 percent. 58 percent of them would like to recall him from office. His approval ratings among the white working class are so catastrophic that he might as well be Walter Mondale.

So Obama is hitting the Rust Belt even while Democrats running for reelection avoid him like the Ebola virus. His fallback strategy is racism and more racism. Everything from Ferguson to the border crisis was set up to push his minority voting base into voting in the midterm elections.

The migrants crowded into gyms and the burned out stores in Ferguson are both the products of a criminally corrupt and racially divisive election strategy. But no amount of race riots or refugee mobs can save the Democratic Party from dealing with its white voter problem.

Instead of the GOP being ordered to change its policies to appeal to minority voters, maybe it’s time that the Democrats changed their policies to appeal to white voters.

It wouldn’t be that hard.

The Democrats have won white voters before. But then they got lazy and decided that it would be easier to depend on racial voting blocs. The blocs worked for Obama, but they didn’t work out too well for them in Congress. Now the Democrats are making a last ditch effort to hold on to the Senate using an insulting and racist campaign that has already cost both black and white lives.

To win over white voters, the Democrats have to stop freeing drug dealers while banning guns. Instead they have to stop fighting the 2nd Amendment and start arresting drug dealers. They have to stop pushing higher taxes and uncontrolled spending and start rebuilding the economy with jobs and tax cuts. They have to let go of ObamaCare and stop pushing socialized medicine and socialized everything.

White voters have less faith in government. They believe that the country is on the wrong track. They aren’t committed Republicans, but they are deeply skeptical of a deeply racist Democratic Party that no longer speaks to their needs and values.

The Democratic Party’s response to its loss of support among white voters has been to accuse them of racism. In the same New Yorker interview in which Obama claimed that ISIS was a JV team, he blamed racism for his poor approval ratings among white voters. Both claims were delusional and wrong.

White voters did not belatedly become racist. The Democratic Party stopped listening to them and went down a racist rabbit hole trying to defend an administration where Al Sharpton and Eric Holder are dictating a national conversation on race.

Debbie Wasserman Schultz is right. One party in 2012 was “rejected again by a bloc of voters that make up more than half of the electorate.”

That party was the Democratic Party.

It’s time to ask whether a party that has lost the support of the majority of the country has any place running the country.

In this special episode, our host Andrew Klavan discusses the lies, double-speak, failures and foibles of Democrats at War. See the video and transcript below:

TRANSCRIPT:

RT – DEMOCRATS AT WAR!

I’m Andrew Klavan and this is the Revolting Truth!

Today, in a Revolting Truth special, we bring you a story so uplifting it’ll remind you of one of those Victoria Secret models… I never look at pictures of… Yes, today, we’re going to recount the glories of Democrats at War!

The year is 2002 — In the wake of the horrific Islamist murder of 3,000 people on American soil, President Bush moves to drain the cesspool of tyranny that is the Muslim Middle East! After our troops chase the monstrous Taliban back to their caves in Afghanistan, our decisive commander-in-chief turns to Iraq where the brutal oppressor Saddam Hussein has consistently destabilized the region and is now, according to all reliable intelligence, building weapons of mass destruction.

Bush’s fear of WMD is shared by the best people the Democrat party has to offer, including serial adulterer Bill Clinton, liar and hypocrite Hillary Clinton, mistress killer Ted Kennedy, horse-faced dunderhead John Kerry, and environmental flimflam man Al Gore… Wait, those are the best people the Democrat party has to offer?

Anyway, when W asks for authorization to use force against the tyrant Hussein, Democrats vote to approve, including Hillary Clinton:

Hillary: If left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying to develop nuclear weapons. So I’ll get you, my pretty, and your little dog t…

Ahem… well, she really did say the first part.

2003 — President W orders the invasion of Iraq. Democrats are standing behind him — always a dangerous situation.

Desiccated opportunist Harry Reid chimes in: “I think the president is approaching this in the right fashion… my precioussssss.”

December of that year, Saddam Hussein is captured, and Democrats celebrate. Here’s then Senator Joe Biden

Biden: Gawrsh, Mickey, this is a great day!

By 2006, however, with Bush mistakenly listening to advisors who tell him not to deploy more troops, Al Qaeda invaders help send Iraq spiraling into a bloody civil war… Democrats bravely standing directly in front of television cameras, heroically pretend they never supported the war in the first place…

Hillary: If I had been president… I would have never asked for authority to divert our attention from Afghanistan to Iraq and I certainly would never have started this war.

2007 — In one of the most impressive acts of political courage in living memory, W defies his advisors, the polls, the media and most other politicians, and decides to try to stem the Iraq violence with a surge of more than 20,000 troops. Democrats give the president the kind of support only Democrats can give:

Obama: We can not impose a military solution on what has effectively become a civil war.

Biden: The President’s surge is not a solution, it’s a tragic mistake.

Reid: This war is lost, my preciousss…

The surge works. Just as Bush predicted, the heightened presence of U.S. troops inspires cooperation from Iraqis. A U.S. troop drawdown is negotiated. In the month before Bush leaves office, there are no U.S. combat deaths in Iraq. The war there is effectively won.

2009 – President Obama takes office… and his administration tries to take credit for the Iraq peace and the drawdown of troops that Bush negotiated:

Biden: Gawrsh, I’m very optimistic about Iraq. I think it’s going to be one of the great achievements of this administration.

2010 – Now commander-in-chief, Obama surges more than 30,000 troops into Afghanistan. Twice as many U.S. soldiers die there as during the Bush era, and the surge ends two years later having had little effect. Too moral to order harsh interrogation techniques against a handful of known terrorists, Obama instead uses drones to kill more than 2,000 people only suspected of terrorism, as well as any man, woman or child standing nearby.

He reportedly tells a staffer, “I’m really good at killing people!”

2011 – Bobbling the Bush agreements, Obama fails to negotiate a continued U.S. presence in Iraq and instead triumphantly announces the withdrawal of all U.S. Troops.

Obama: “We’re leaving behind a sovereign, stable and self-reliant Iraq.”

The President even brags during his reelection campaign that Al Qaeda is dead.

Which it’s not.

2014 — Al Qaeda affiliated ISIS reverses all the victories of Bush and his military and institutes a campaign of Islamic slaughter that makes the Taliban say, “Wow, those guys are mean.” ISIS promises that as soon as it’s finished committing genocide, rape and mass murder at home, it’s coming after the United States.

Barack Obama immediately disavows his part in the U.S. Troop withdrawal:

Obama: That wasn’t a decision made by me that was a decision made by the Iraqi government.

The war we won in Iraq is lost. The sacrifices we made in Afghanistan are rendered useless. With hellacious bloodshed engulfing the entire Middle East, Obama orders a half-hearted U.S. bombing campaign in Iraq that’s likely to accomplish nothing.

And that’s today’s episode of Democrats at War! Stay tuned next time for the rousing tale of how the Democrat congress withdrew American funding from Viet Nam and Cambodia in 1975, ending the truce Nixon had negotiated there and leaving those nations open to the Communist slaughter of two and a half million people.

Yes, Democrats at War: a story so patriotic and inspiring it’ll pierce your heart like… a knife in the back.

I’m Andrew Klavan with the Revolting Truth.

Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric Shinseki is one step closer to falling on his sword as the deadly, politically explosive VA health care scandal forces even Democratic lawmakers to demand his removal.

The added political pressure came after a new interim report by the VA’s inspector general determined that the agency’s officials were involved in a massive conspiracy to cover up the long, life-threatening delays that America’s veterans have been subjected to in the assembly-line abattoir that is the Veterans Health Administration (VHA).

In the words of the report, which followed audits of 216 health-care centers, there was a “systemic” push by VA officials to conceal the long wait times veterans faced. Veterans in Phoenix, Ariz., waited 115 days on average for a primary care appointment, which far exceeds what official VA statistics indicated. At least 40 veterans have died waiting for appointments at the Phoenix Veterans Affairs Health Care system. Many of the dead had been put on secret waiting lists.

It’s the latest chapter in this sad but entirely predictable unfolding of events. The needless deaths, doctored documents, and all-around incompetence, are what necessarily happen when the government runs a single-payer health care system. The VA health care scandal provides real-life examples to the American public of the unspeakable horrors that await them if the Obamacare train is not soon derailed.

After the report came out Wednesday, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), who had resisted demanding Shinseki step down, joined the growing, bipartisan chorus seeking the secretary’s removal.

“It’s time for Secretary Shinseki to step down,” McCain said at a press conference in Arizona. If he won’t leave, “then I call on the president of the United States to relieve him of his duties, fire him.”

Undeterred, the former Army Chief of Staff is still trying to save his skin.

The retired general has been reaching out by telephone to Democrats on Capitol Hill yesterday, repeating his blame-shifting shtick and claiming to be outraged at the actions of his own agency that he is apparently unable to control.

As of yesterday afternoon, 11 Democratic senators facing reelection battles this year and several House Democrats had called upon Shinseki to resign, adding to the many GOP lawmakers who have demanded the secretary depart.

President Obama has claimed to support Shinseki in his current position but that support is lukewarm at best. “When it comes to the current situation . . . the president wants to see the results of these reports,” White House press secretary Jay Carney said yesterday. “He believes there ought to be accountability once we establish all the facts.”

The politically tone-deaf House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) continues to back the hapless Shinseki, siding with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).

Boehner said he will “continue to reserve judgement” on the VA secretary.

“Is him resigning going to get us to the bottom of the problem? Is it going to help us find what’s really going on? And the answer I keep getting is no,” Boehner said, echoing former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s infamous “what difference does it make?” comment on the Benghazi scandal.

“The president is going to need to step up here and show some real leadership,” Boehner said, throwing a lifeline to the embattled Obama administration.

In a desperate bid to prevent being shown the door, Shinseki met with veterans groups Thursday to beg for their support.

At the hour-long gathering, Shinseki, taking a page from President Obama’s “who? me?” playbook, blamed everyone but himself for the health care atrocities that took place under his watch.

Shinseki claimed he had been too trusting of reports from VA hospital employees, whining that during his 38-year military career he always thought he could rely on reports from the field.

Shinseki also said he planned to hold VA employees who falsified waiting-list records in Phoenix accountable and make sure the 1,700 veterans in that city who are languishing in bureaucratic limbo receive prompt medical care.

Veterans groups were understandably skeptical.

“The question for all of us remains how will he address the breach of trust between veterans and the VA,” said Derek Bennett, chief of staff for Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America.

“What does accountability mean? Does it mean firing people, demoting them, moving them? . . . I am still waiting to see what action follows the verbiage.”

In the end, Shinseki has done the American people a great service.

As the Supreme Justice of the VA death panel system, Shenseki has become the public face of the heartless, overwhelmed, incompetent government health care bureaucracy that gets to decide who lives and who dies. He has given the public a taste of the nation’s health care future as government takes on an a bigger and bigger role.

It is no secret that VA health care and the health care delivery regime under the Affordable Care Act (a.k.a. Obamacare) are fundamentally the same. VA health care is a single-payer system, and so, it is hopelessly sclerotic and Soviet. Obamacare necessarily leads to a single-payer system.

The VA system is outdated and doomed. It cannot work. Like Obamacare, it is based on the ludicrous notion that medical services can be provided effectively outside of markets. History shows conclusively that governments are very, very bad at providing health care services. This is not an arguable point.

The Department of Veterans Affairs itself has a long, inglorious history of patient abuse and neglect that has stretched out over decades. Yet VA health care is held up by the establishment Left as the model for the future.

VA health care is a “huge policy success story, which offers important lessons for future health reform,” says Paul Krugman, the alleged economist. Expanding VA health care is “one of my favorite ideas,” says JournoList propagandist-in-chief Ezra Klein.

It is only a matter of time before Shinseki is offered as a sacrifice to appease critics of the Obama administration.

And when he is, leftists like Krugman and Klein will blame the VA’s problems on Shinseki and claim that this inherently unsustainable system needs only to be tweaked a little more.

TRANSCRIPT:

WHY DEMOCRATS CALL YOU RACIST

I’m Andrew Klavan and this is the Revolting Truth.

Many conservatives feel hurt and confused by the fact that Democrats keep calling them racist. If you think black Americans should be treated exactly the same as white Americans, they call you racist for opposing affirmative action. If you point out that the poverty rate for blacks has increased sharply under President Obama, they call you racist for criticizing a black President. And if you complain that Democrats treat black people like helpless children, they call you racist for calling black people helpless children… which you didn’t but, too late, it’s already in all the headlines. Which are written by Democrats.

As a conservative, sometimes you just want take a Democrat aside and ask him straight out, “How’d that feel?” after, you know, you’ve kicked him in the groin.

Now I’m in the center of the political spectrum, because I stand to the right on matters of personal liberty, limited government and free markets but I stand to the left in relation to the random picture of Gary Busey on my right. So maybe I can explain to conservatives why Democrats are so quick to level this ugly charge.

You see, Democrats have a special insight into the mistreatment of African Americans because… they committed most of it. Now, we don’t want to dwell on the distant past when Democrats defended slavery against Abe Lincoln and his Republicans… or when they formed the Ku Klux Klan or passed oppressive Jim Crow laws… or when Democrats like Al Gore Sr. or Robert Byrd… or George Wallace or Lester Maddox… or Bill Clinton’s mentor J. William Fulbright… stood as staunch segregationists.

The modern Democratic party is much different. Appalled by the way evil slavemasters once tore black families apart, Democrats fashioned welfare to subsidize unmarried motherhood so that free African Americans could tear their families apart themselves. After all, a woman needs a man like a fish needs a bicycle to support her and help raise her fish children so you don’t end up with prisons full of little fish who never had a bicycle.

But don’t worry about crime in black communities, because Democrats have insured that black criminals will be treated fairly and leniently so they can continue to prey at will on the vast majority of African Americans who are law abiding citizens.

And of course if all that Democrat sponsored illegitimacy and crime should mire blacks in poverty, Democrat entitlement programs will make that poverty as comfortable as possible so it will continue as long as possible.

And that’s why when you allude to the provably disastrous results of Democrat programs in poor black neighborhoods, Democrats call you racist. Because they feel bad. Because you kicked them in the groin.

I’m Andrew Klavan with the revolting truth.

Meet the Left's white race hustlers.

I’m old enough to remember when only black people called black people “Uncle Tom.” Democrats, however, long expanded the category of who can play the race card and on whom. Call them equal opportunity race-card players.

As with black race-card hustlers — say the Revs. Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton or any given host on MSNB-Hee-Haw — white race-card players label others “racist” for the crime of disagreement. As with black race-card hustlers, white race-card hustlers need not name names when accusing someone of “racism.” And, as with black race-card hustlers, the mainscream media will not bother to ask the white race-card hustler to identify said racists.

Some examples:

Rep. Steve Israel, D-N.Y.: When recently asked if his Republican colleagues were racist, Israel responded, “Not all of them, no. Of course not. But to a significant extent, the Republican base does have elements that are animated by racism.” “Not all” implies one or more is “animated by racism.” He never bothered to name names, let alone what “animated” the racist(s). The host did not ask.

Sen. Jay Rockefeller, D-W.Va.: Only days ago, the soon-to-retire senator said that he can now speak out about the number of Republicans who oppose President Barack Obama because of his race: “It’s an American characteristic that you don’t do anything which displeases the voters, because you always have to get reelected here. I understand part of it. It has to do with — for some, it’s just we don’t want anything good to happen under this president, because he’s the wrong color.”

Former Florida Gov. Charlie Crist, now a Democrat: Crist recently said that “a big reason” he switched parties was because of the way “some” people in his former party — Republican — treated Obama: “I couldn’t be consistent with myself and my core beliefs, and stay with a party that was so unfriendly toward the African-American president.”

Feminist attorney Gloria Allred, Democrat: After the election of George W. Bush in 2000, Colin Powell and Condi Rice, formerly with the Reagan administration, were considered likely to join the new administration. Allred, who then hosted a Los Angeles radio show, referred to them (not by name) as “Uncle Tom types.”

Former President Jimmy Carter, Democrat: He attributed opposition to Obamamcare and other Obama policies to racism. “I think an overwhelming portion of the intensely demonstrated animosity toward President Barack Obama,” said Carter, “is based on the fact that he is a black man, that he’s African-American.

Racism … still exists, and I think it’s bubbled up to the surface because of a belief among many white people, not just in the South but around the country, that African-Americans are not qualified to lead this great country.”

CNN’s Anderson Cooper: When asked by embattled Clippers’ owner Donald Sterling whether there’s much prejudice in America, CNN’s Anderson Cooper replied, “Yes. … There’s institutional prejudice” in addition to the kind “that people have in their hearts.” In fairness to Cooper, Sterling did not ask him to name any “institution” — but it would have been helpful.

The Republicans-hate-blacks narrative remains crucial to maintaining the monolithic 95 percent Democratic black vote, without which the Democratic Party cannot succeed. Economist Thomas Sowell writes, “If Republicans can get just a fourth or a fifth of the black vote nationwide, that can shift the balance of power decisively in their favor.” As recently as 1956, nearly 39 percent of blacks voted Republican in the presidential election.

The next time a Democrat or member of media speaks darkly about these anonymous Republican “racists,” ask this question: Don’t Israel and Rockefeller, currently in office, have a duty to “out” these racists? Why allow known bigots to remain in government? Doesn’t morality require Crist, running as a Democrat for his old job as governor of Florida, to identify and help remove these racist elected officials? Aren’t these Republican “racists” — whose IDs are being protected by their Democratic colleagues — detrimental to the interests of the nation and serving in violation of their oath to protect and defend the U.S. Constitution? Doesn’t this oath mean protecting and defending the rights of all constituents irrespective of race — and exposing the “racists” who refuse to do so?

Why protect them? Why conceal their identities? Out the SOBs!

But, no. Democrats would rather just brand unnamed Republicans as “racist,” no matter how absurd or outlandish the charge. Given this tepid five-year-old “recovery,” the Obama-loving/leftist media/academia/Hollywood crowd cannot, during this off-year election cycle, brag about economic growth. So look for more topic-changers like “income inequality,” climate change and the eternal struggle against the unknown “racist” obstructionists who sit across the aisle.

Sigh.

Americans' financial losses are the Democratic Party's gain.

This perception is wrong. It is their goals that are irreconcilable. And until conservatives, independents and the Republican Party understand this, it will not be possible to defeat the left.

Take economic indicators. Most conservatives talk and act as if bad economic news disturbs the left as much as it disturbs them. It doesn’t.

Almost everywhere the left is in control — in California, for example — the economic news is awful. But this has no effect on the ruling Democrats, the Los Angeles Times editorial page, New York Times economics columnist Paul Krugman or others on the left.

There is one overriding philosophical reason and one political reason for this. But before I identify them, permit me to note some of the economic facts of life in California.

Unless otherwise noted, the following data have been culled by Chapman University Professor Joel Kotkin, and published in the Wall Street Journal, the Orange County Register and elsewhere. (For the record, Kotkin is a self-described “Truman Democrat” who voted for the Democrat governor Jerry Brown of California.)

—In the last 20 years, about 4 million more people have left California than came in from other states. Most of those leaving are young families.

—In the last 15 years, one-third of California’s industrial employment base has disappeared. That’s 600,000 jobs that have disappeared.

—California has the 48th-worst business tax climate. (The Tax Foundation)

—California’s electricity prices are 50 percent higher than the national average.

—Middle-class workers, those who earn more than $48,000, pay a top income tax rate of 9.3 percent. That’s higher than what millionaires pay in 47 other states.

—California’s unemployment rate is fourth highest in the nation.

—From 2010-13, California produced fewer than 8,000 jobs, while the country added 510,000.

California faces enormous underfunded public employee pension obligations. (Bloomberg)

—An estimated 25 billion barrels of oil are sitting untapped in the Monterey and Bakersfield shale deposits. California is therefore sending billions of dollars to Texas, Canada and elsewhere to buy natural gas and oil that it could have produced itself.

—Twitter, Adobe, eBay and Oracle, among other major California tech companies, have moved many operations to Salt Lake City.

—Hollywood is doing more and more of its filming in Louisiana, Canada and elsewhere to avoid California taxes.

—Toyota just announced that it is moving its U.S. headquarters from Los Angeles to Dallas. This will eliminate 3,000 or more generally high-wage jobs.

—Occidental Petroleum recently announced that it is moving its headquarters from Los Angeles to Houston.

—Until relatively recently, half of the country’s top 10 energy firms — ARCO, Getty Oil, Union Oil, Occidental and Chevron — were based in California. Today, only Chevron remains, and it is gradually relocating in Houston. (Reuters)

—Houston has added nine million square feet of new office space. Los Angeles has added one million.

—Tesla will likely locate its proposed $5 billion battery factory, which would employ upward of 6,500 people, in Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico or Texas. According to greentechmedia.com, California “didn’t make the short list because of the potential for regulatory and environmental delays.”

—California’s Monterey Shale offers a potential employment bonanza for workers needing access to entry-level jobs in the high-paying energy sector. But California’s green lobby is striving to deny them that opportunity. (John Husing, chief economist of the Inland Empire Economic Partnership, Los Angeles Daily News)

Now back to our riddle. Why do these state-crushing economic statistics — nearly every one of which is the result of left-wing policies — have no effect on California’s Democrats, the Los Angeles Times editorial page, New York Times economics columnist Paul Krugman or almost anyone else on the left?

The answer is that they don’t care. Yes, of course, as individuals with a heart, most people, right and left, care about people losing their jobs. But in terms of what matters to the left and the policies they pursue, they don’t care. The left and the political party it controls do not care if their policies force to companies to leave the state (or the country). They don’t care about the coming high inflation caused by Quantitative Easing (printing money) — Krugman calls it The Inflation Obsession — or the job-depressing effects of high taxes, or energy prices that hurt the middle class, or compelling businesses to leave.

They don’t care because the left is not interested in prosperity; the left is interested in inequality and in the environment. Furthermore, the worse the economic situation, the more voters are likely to vote Democrat. The worse the economic situation, the greater the number of people receiving government assistance; the greater the number of people receiving government assistance, the greater the number of people who will vote Democrat.

Therefore, both philosophically and politically, the left has no reason to be troubled by bad economic news. And it isn’t. It is troubled by inequality and carbon emissions.

Democrats are feeling the heat.

Democrats “absolutely must boycott this absurd, insane, sickening, repulsive, shameful, and at the same time shame-less circus,” read an article at the Daily Beast last Wednesday. While you may be forgiven for assuming that the author was referring to the Obama administration, he actually was describing the upcoming hearings on the Benghazi investigation, which the article bluntly calls “bullsh*t.” That’s because progressives are rallying now in a desperate effort to dismiss Benghazi as a joke and the hearings themselves as a waste of time.

From the beginning, when four Americans including Ambassador Chris Stevens were killed in a terrorist assault in Libya in 2012, the administration did its level best to downplay the attack and divert responsibility for the murders to a scapegoated “Islamophobic” filmmaker and his hilariously inept, obscure YouTube video dramatizing the life of Islam’s prophet Muhammad.

But unlike the lapdog media, the right refused to accept the administration’s whitewashed narrative, so now that the left is feeling the heat from hearings to be chaired by bulldog South Carolina Republican Representative Trey Gowdy, they are naturally going on the offensive (when has the left ever gone on the defensive?). That means reaching for the most effective weapon in their arsenal: ridicule. Remember, this administration’s guru Saul Alinsky counseled that “ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.” It is simultaneously a defensive and offensive strategy.

Political commentator and consultant Donna Brazile, for example, mocked on Twitter that “The Republicans are hyping the Benghazi hearings like they are about to launch a new TV series: what should we call this?” One Twitter respondent called her tweet “a horrifying display of arrogance and disrespect for the dead.” Another jabbed back that the show should be called “Truth and Consequences.”

Missouri Democrat Representative Stacey Newman got into the act, sending out the cutesy tweet that she was “thinking of saying ‘Benghazi’ while debating tomorrow on the House floor. Just to see what happens.” This is a woman who asserts in her Twitter bio that she is most “obsessive” about “saving lives due to gun violence” – unless they are American lives and Islamic guns, apparently. Then it’s just funny.

Mississippi Democrat congressional hopeful Trish Causey, another candidate in a crowded field for the title of Least Classy Comedienne, tweeted this hilarious nugget to her 1,325 social media followers: “As part of National Masturbation Month, Republicans like screaming the name of their fluffer, Ben Ghazi, when they orgasm.” It’s hard to imagine how anyone of any political persuasion could take a candidate seriously after such a disgusting, flippant public remark regarding American deaths, but then again, Causey admits on her website that she is “not a politician. I am an ActivistArtist [sic].”

CNN contributor, Daily Beast columnist, and now would-be standup comedienne Sally Kohn tweeted this smirky joke: “Little known fact: Monica Lewinsky is how Republicans pronounced Benghazi in the 90s.” She’s actually trying to claim that the unanswered massacre of Americans abroad, and the administration’s ensuing coverup is no more consequential than what the left considered Clinton’s harmless sexual indiscretion.

Here’s a little-known fact for you, Ms. Kohn: the Lewinsky affair rightfully ended in Clinton’s impeachment, and if the Benghazi hearings get to the truth, they could result in Obama’s. Kohn’s Twitter bio describes her as someone who “works for justice” – except justice for the Benghazi victims and their loved ones, because that might embarrass presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, the woman who angrily shouted “What difference does it make?” when questioned about the attack. The woman who looked the victims’ family members in the eyes and promised them that a lone anti-Islam filmmaker would be brought to justice.

Other Democrats got into the act, insisting that Americans don’t care about Benghazi. Corrupt, race-baiting New York Democrat Representative Charlie Rangel declared last week that Americans aren’t “going to lose sleep” over Benghazi. Host and commentator Cent Uygur, who was actually asked by his former bosses at MSNBC to tone it down, exploded on his show The Young Turks in an anti-Benghazi rant so obscenity-riddled that it’s impossible to quote from it. Suffice it to say that Uygur considers Benghazi to be microscopically insignificant.

But Eleanor Clift, yet another Daily Beast columnist, won the prize for diminishing Benghazi Sunday when she stunned the other talking heads in an episode of The McLaughlin Report with the assertion that Ambassador Chris Stevens “was not murdered. He died of smoke inhalation in the safe room in that CIA installation” – as if his death were a mere workplace accident and somehow completely unrelated to a terrorist attack. She too insisted that the Muhammad video was responsible for everything, as did Jon Stewart of The Daily Show, a program built on satire and ridicule which has become a trusted news source for young progressives. He dismissed the Benghazi controversy last week and asserted ridiculously that “there is no dispute that this situation was spawned by the release of a video. I don’t think there’s any question.” Stewart must be confused, because there is actually no dispute that the “situation,” by which he means the slaughter of American citizens, was not spawned by the release of a video.

Dismissing/joking about Benghazi is nothing new. A year ago for example, former DNC chairman Howard Dean announced in a televised discussion with RNC communications chairman Sean Spicer that “Benghazi is a laughable joke.” When Spicer countered that “With all due respect, governor, when four Americans die serving this country, that’s not a joke, sir,” Dean interrupted with “Oh, stop it,” and proceeded to use the words “ridiculous,” “silly” and “nonsense” in regard to the Republican pursuit of the truth.

But this recent flurry of irrational reactions confirms that Benghazi is not merely a minor incident of workplace violence “that was, like, two years ago, dude,” to paraphrase former White House spokesman Tommy Vietor. After all, you draw the most fire when you’re directly over the target. Benghazi is a potential Achilles heel for the left, and they are acutely aware of it.

A disturbing look at who appears to be the biggest profiteer.

In the lead up to Tax Day, the mainstream media devoted some deserved attention to the huge tax refund fraud problem we have in this country. But as usual, they failed to get specific about the root causes of the issue. That the Democrats in government gain from keeping the tax credit system as dysfunctional as possible is probably a good guess why.

Last week the AP reported on the “$4 billion” lost every year due to “fraudulent tax refunds.” The story coincided with a recent video produced by the Department of Justice wherein Attorney General Holder reminds us to not worry, they’re on the case. The AP report isn’t specific about what types of “fraudulent tax refunds” are in issue, but $4 billion is definitely a low number compared to the total problem.

The Earned Income Tax Credit alone costs taxpayers a whopping $12-14 billion in fraudulent payments every year. This is especially troubling considering the program pays out in total $56 billion per year, meaning its average “improper payments rate” is around 25 per cent. Medicaid fraud, which is very well publicized and has its own federal task force, hovers at around 8-10 per cent a year.

More troubling still is that the EITC is the government’s fastest growing entitlement program. Since its start in 1980 the program’s grown 44-fold. Compare this to the 8.5x increase in total entitlement spending in the same period.

The credit, which pays out up to $5,800 to a family of three, requires a valid Social Security number in order to be claimed. This restriction is easily nullified by the use of fake or stolen Social Security numbers and felony identity theft. As a result, millions of Americans, especially children, have their Social Security numbers compromised every year. Who’s doing much of the thieving? Analysts say illegal aliens. The Center for Immigration Studies’ Steve Camarota found that 40 percent of illegals use the program (over triple the use among natives) while other analysts have found rampant EITC abuse among illegals. So much for the left’s use of the term “undocumented” immigrants. Many “undocumented” immigrants are already documented; just illegally so.

DHS Secretary under George W. Bush, Michael Chertoff, called the rampant identity theft surrounding the EITC, “a violation of the privacy rights and the economic rights of innocent Americans.” Since he made that statement, the EITC fraud rate has ballooned by a further 22 per cent. It’s no coincidence that this increase correlates with the jump in the illegal alien population over the last few years.

As one NBC report from 2005 noted, a compromised SSN can mess up one’s work history, Social Security benefits records and one’s credit report. Documenting the experiences of one female victim, NBC found that she was “haunted by bills and creditors [and] received threatening letters from the IRS asking her to pay taxes on money earned by her imposters.” She was told to “re-pay unemployment benefits she had received, after the government discovered she was “working” while “drawing benefits.”

Despite such a horrific scenario and despite legislative efforts such as the Improper Payments Elimination Act, which requires all agencies to keep their entitlement programs’ improper payments rate to below 10%, no significant improvement has been made in reducing EITC fraud. Just like our lack of border security, e-Verify and an entry-exit biometric system at each of our ports, all of which are on the law books but are simply not enforced, beefing up the policing of EITC fraud and SSN theft would harm one of Obama’s key future constituencies: illegal aliens. Polls of illegals and Hispanics in general consistently show a deep preference for Democratic policies and big government. Along with our unenforced immigration laws, a failed EITC system keeps the magnet for illegal aliens switched on and the Democrat’s base intact.

AP quotes Mr. Holder as saying the scams “are carried out by a variety of actors, from greedy tax return preparers to identity brokers who profit from the sale of personal information to gangs and drug rings looking for easy access to cash.” The biggest profiteer from this fraud may just be the Democrat-controlled government itself.

How Obama and the Left are working to create one-party tyranny.

While conservatives are divided on the political path forward, Democrats are showing themselves to be united in a war against the Republican Party — with one-party rule for America as the endgame. One need only look to the political priorities Democratic lawmakers have recently adopted to gauge this reality. Led by the Obama administration, a party hijacked by far-left radicals is determined to pass comprehensive immigration reform, prevent the passage of election integrity laws, and use the IRS as a billy club to suppress free speech. Republicans who are inclined to dismiss this agenda need only look to California to see the cost of complacency and denial.

Mass immigration and sweeping amnesty initiatives are the Democrats’ primary tools for realizing their ambitions. A devastating report produced by Phyllis Schlafly, “How Mass (Legal) Immigration Dooms a Conservative Republican Party,” details that reality in no uncertain terms. Citing surveys from the Pew Research Center, the Pew Hispanic Center, Gallup, NBC News, Harris polling, the Annenberg Policy Center, Latino Decisions, the Center for Immigration Studies and the Hudson Institute, Schlafly reveals that immigrants have always been the mainstay of the Democrat Party, emphasizing that this dynamic has been occurring for at least a century. Furthermore, as a result of the current rate of accelerated immigration that brings 1.1 million newcomers to America every year, the GOP will be reduced to fringe status within a decade.

The statistics are daunting. A 2008 National Annenberg Election Survey revealed that 62 percent of immigrants favor single-payer, government-run healthcare. A 2010 Cooperative Congressional Election Study shows that 69 percent of immigrants favor Obamacare. The Pew Research Center revealed that 53 percent of Hispanics hold a negative view of capitalism and that 75 percent favor bigger government and more social services compared to only 41 percent of Americans. Only 37 percent of naturalized citizens believe the Constitution takes precedence over international law, compared to 67 percent of native Americans.

The state of California represents the proverbial canary in the coal mine. Ronald Reagan carried California with 59 percent of the vote in the 1984 election. Yet beginning in 1986, the amnesty bill that legalized 2.7 million illegal aliens began the transformation of that state from red to blue. Amnesty recipients began becoming citizens, reaching a level of 40 percent by 2009. By 2012, a combination of Hispanic voters naturalized by that amnesty, or related to people who were, gave 70 percent of their vote to Barack Obama. And until yesterday, when a pair of California state senators went on indefinite leaves of absence to fight corruption charges, Democrats had an unassailable supermajority in the state legislature. They still maintain one in the lower house, the State Assembly, while they also control every statewide office and both seats in the U.S. Senate.

Yet there are far more insidious forces at work here. As Ann Coulter explains in a recent column, since the 1965 Immigration Act went into effect, 90 percent of those who have entered the nation on an annual basis have been unskilled, Third World workers. That has produced a glut of low-wage workers whose wages have steadily declined as a result of the influx. But when Republicans counter with economic reality and a list of demands in return for a “pathway to citizenship,” they are labeled “heartless” and “uncaring” with regard to economics and business and “nativist,” “bigoted” and “xenophobic” with regard to immigration.

Democrats have also been unanimous in their opposition to any attempt to improve fairness and oversight of elections. With regard to commonsense voter ID laws, Democrats have managed to convince a substantial number of Americans that protecting the integrity of the electoral process is nothing less than an effort to suppress the vote of minority Americans. Thus, Eric Holder and his minions at the U.S. Department of Justice will continue to pursue lawsuits against the states of Texas and North Carolina to prevent newly enacted voter ID laws from being enforced. They will do so despite a 2008 Supreme Court decision validating the constitutionality of a picture ID requirement for voting in the state of Indiana. Liberal Justice John Paul Stevens declared that the law “is amply justified by the valid interest in protecting ‘the integrity and reliability of the electoral process.’”

The Supreme Court upped the ante on that reasoning last year, when it struck down Section 4 of the Voting Rights Act. Prior to the change, states that had historic records of voter discrimination were unable to change their election laws without approval in advance from the federal government. States like Florida were prevented from purging their voter rolls of non-citizens, a situation unanimously hailed by the Left. “Our country has changed,” Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. wrote for the majority. “While any racial discrimination in voting is too much, Congress must ensure that the legislation it passes to remedy that problem speaks to current conditions.”

Holder, whose contempt for the rule of law was made plain when he urged state attorneys general to literally ignore those laws they themselves determined were discriminatory, is essentially ignoring two Supreme Court rulings in pursuit of his agenda.

There are glaring problems with that agenda. Nearly three-out-of-four Americans support photo ID requirements for voting. Moreover, despite charges of racism that the demand for photo ID elicits from leftists, the idea that any particular subset of Americans is less capable of procuring such identification is itself bigoted. Democrats’ charges of racism are nothing more than projections of their own warped worldview.

Yet far more important is the reality that voter fraud is a genuine problem. Statistics compiled by the True the Vote website reveal the extent. They note that in 2012, voter fraud cases were being pursued in 46 states. In addition, 24 million invalid voter registrations remained on the rolls nationwide, 1.8 million dead voters remained registered to vote, and 2.75 million Americans are registered to vote in more than one state.

Ironically, the principal architect of the problem is Eric Holder and the DOJ. According to former DOJ employee J. Christian Adams, the department refused to enforce Section 8 of the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA) that tasks the Department with bringing voter rolls up to date by purging dead and ineligible voters. Once again, Holder’s determination to selectively enforce the law is the key element here.

Moreover, the reality that True the Vote was involved in illuminating the issue of voter fraud ties directly into the Obama administration’s most egregious effort to undermine the GOP: using the IRS as its vehicle to suppress free speech.

True the Vote’s self-described mission is focusing on election integrity issues, and much of that effort was focused on the Texas Democratic Party and Houston Votes, an ACORN front group. When True the Vote discovered irregularities that were pursued by Texas law enforcement officials, the American left declared war.

That war was pursued with vigor by the IRS after True the Vote applied for their 501(c)(3) non-profit status in July 2010. Hundreds of questions were asked over and over again. The agency demanded to see owner Catherine Engelbrecht’s tweets and Facebook posts. Aggressive audits of her and her husband’s businesses, that included investigations by the FBI, the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms, the Occupational Safety Hazards Administration, and the state version of the EPA, the Texas Commission on Environment Quality, were vigorously pursued.

Unfortunately, Engelbrecht’s ordeal was hardly an anomaly. As the Wall Street Journal’s Kimberly Strassel reveals, Obama’s contention that there’s not a “smidgen” of corruption occurring within the IRS is as truthful as his contention that American would be able to keep their doctors and health providers once ObamaCare was passed. “Perhaps the biggest fiction of this past year was that the IRS’s targeting of conservative groups has been confronted, addressed and fixed,” Strassel writes. “The opposite is true. The White House has used the scandal as an excuse to expand and formalize the abuse.”

The formalization of that abuse consists of offering conservative groups an “expedited” process for getting approval of their 501(c)(4) tax-exempt status –sold under the guise of pursuing reform. In reality the deal was a thinly-veiled effort to continue inhibiting the activities of those groups. Current rules governing 501(c)(4)s allow for spending as much as 49 percent of a group’s funds on political activity and as much time as they choose to engage in those efforts. In exchange for quicker approval from the IRS, groups had to agree to spend only 40 percent of their funds and time, calculated by the number of hours employees and volunteers worked, on political activity. “The clear point of the ‘deal’ was to use the lure of 501(c)(4) approval to significantly reduce the political activity of targeted conservative groups going forward,” Strassel explains.

Some groups, desperate to be approved, took the deal. But at least two that didn’t, including one that had been waiting three years and three months for approval, were once again targeted by the IRS, who demanded resubmission of information previously supplied, along with new details, such as the groups’ 2012 fundraising letters.

For perspective sake, it should be noted that prior to Obama’s presidency, the IRS approval process took an average of three weeks.

Strassel further explains that the IRS’s efforts to control speech are transparently political, because the bipartisan Federal Election Commission (FEC) can enforce rules regarding political speech. “But the FEC can’t be controlled by the White House, and Democrats have been unable to pass new speech restrictions through Congress,” she reveals.

Nonetheless, in a meeting of the Senate Judiciary Committee markup last Thursday, Democrats made it clear exactly where they stand. At that meeting, Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) proposed two amendments aimed at protecting all Americans from IRS abuses. The first one would have imposed a ban on IRS employees targeting individuals or groups based on their political viewpoints. It would have also made it a crime for any IRS employee to engage in willful discrimination against any groups based solely on their political beliefs, or any policy statements held, expressed, or published by that organization. The second amendment would have amended the tax code to use the definitions promulgated by the FEC to determine whether an organization is engaging in political activity, leaving the IRS to focus solely on taxation.

Both amendments were unanimously opposed by Democrats on the Judiciary Committee, leading to their defeat.

This toxic combination of promoting a pathway to citizenship for millions of illegal aliens, along with laying a foundation for voter fraud and codifying suppression of their opponents’ political speech, are odious activities when they are examined individually. Taken as a whole, it becomes clear that Democrats are engaged in a concerted effort to fundamentally transform the United States of America into a one-party political system with their party in permanent control. And if it takes ruining millions of workers’ futures, destroying the integrity of the electoral process and undermining the Constitution to do so, so be it. As with every historical effort to seize unassailable power, the ends justify the means.

Democrats poised to push through nomination of Mumia Abu Jamal devotee Debo Adegbile.

On Monday we will learn a great deal more about what sort of party the Democrats are in 2014. Senator Harry Reid will move the nomination of the brazen race radical Debo Adegbile to the floor of the Senate for a vote. Adegbile is the President’s nominee for the Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights at the Justice Department, one of the most powerful appointments in the executive branch.

We will learn if Senator Mark Pryor (D-AR) and Senator Kay Hagan (D-NC) share the values of their constituents, or the values of the radical secularists in the administration. While at the NAACP, Adegbile authored a brief to strip members of the Hosanna Tabor Evangelical Lutheran Church of the right to practice their faith and appoint ministers of the church as they saw fit. Adegbile argued to the Supreme Court that Christian churches shouldn’t continue to enjoy the same constitutional protections of the “ministerial exception” as churches had for centuries. He argued that the government should have a say in church theology and who could be a minister of a Christian church.

Adegbile didn’t want churches to enjoy the full and free exercise of religion. The United States Supreme Court rejected Adegbile’s arguments, 9-0.

Church attendance in North Carolina and Arkansas is among the highest in the nation, and Hagan and Pryor should reject Adegbile, just as every member of the Supreme Court did.

Adegbile also has a racial history entirely hostile to the values of citizens of West Virginia, Montana, Alaska and Louisiana. Citizens in those states believe in school discipline and not deciding who gets admitted to college based on an applicant’s skin color.

Yet, Adegbile has aggressively pushed a fringe racial agenda and would use the power of the Justice Department to do so if Senators Joe Manchin (D-WV), John Walsh (D-MT), Jon Tester (D-MT), Mark Begich (D-AK) and Mary Landrieu (D-LA) vote for him Monday afternoon.

While at the NAACP, Adegbile fought against school discipline. He argued that more black children were being disciplined compared to their percentage in the population, so naturally school discipline must be racially discriminatory. At the Justice Department, if he is confirmed, expect him to litigate this nutty idea using the heavy boot of the federal government.

If Adegbile is confirmed, schools will be afraid to punish unruly children and more students who need order in their lives will experience chaos.

Adegbile has also fought to keep a woman out law school because she is white. Abigail Fisher was denied admission to the University of Texas simply because she is white, and Debo Adegbile has worked hard at the NAACP to keep her out. He has filed legal briefs with the Supreme Court and managed a nationwide litigation campaign to support racial discrimination in education.

If the Senators from West Virginia, Montana, Alaska and Louisiana vote to confirm a man who has fought to judge people by the color of their skin, and not the content of their character, they will not be representing their constituents.

Last week, the Republican Senator from Pennsylvania and the African-American Democrat District Attorney penned a joint Wall Street Journal editorial – The Justice Nominee and the Cop Killer. The cop killer to whom they refer is Mumia Abu Jamal – black panther, murderer, and hero to the left.

A stack of national police organizations also oppose Debo Adegbile’s nomination over his representation of Abu Jamal, including the Fraternal Order of Police.

Debo Adegbile voluntarily chose to help Mumia in his efforts to escape the death penalty for murdering Philadelphia police officer Danny Faulkner. Jamal murdered Faulkner in cold blood, and then turned his America hating rhetoric into celebrity status. Like Debo Adegbile’s NAACP, Jamal rants on public radio about structural racism in America.

Mumia, so the fable goes, was prosecuted because he is black. Because he is black, he could not get a fair trial, he will tell you.

It is precisely this racially paranoid rot that attracted Adegbile and his NAACP to Mumia’s cause.

As Senator Toomey and District Attorney Seth Williams wrote:

But it is one thing to provide legal representation and quite another to seize on a case and turn it into a political platform from which to launch an extreme attack on the justice system. When a lawyer chooses that course, it is appropriate to ask whether he should be singled out for a high-level national position in, of all things, law enforcement.

Adegbile and his NAACP raised money off of the leftist murderer’s celebrity. Adegbile and the NAACP did more than represent the murderer in court, they allied with his racial grievances.

So what will Pennsylvania’s other Senator do? Will Democrat Bob Casey side with the man attracted to helping a cop killer, or, will he side with his constituents and vote against Debo Adegbile’s nomination?

We will find out this coming Monday at 5:30 when the vote on Adegbile’s nomination reaches the floor of the Senate. Just 20 years ago, nobody with Adegbile’s radicalized race history would even be nominated. The Clinton administration had the sense to pull the nomination of Lani Guinier, a crackpot who was nominated for the same office as Adegbile.

Amazingly, Guinier’s primary sin was to advocate for race quotas in hiring. She didn’t attack Christian churches and didn’t represent unrepentant black panther cop killers. She didn’t have anywhere near the radicalized record of Debo Adegbile.

So Monday we will learn whether any pockets of sanity exist among Senate Democrats, or whether the values of the folks back home no longer matter in 2014.

UPDATE: After this article was published, Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) announced his opposition to the Adegbile nomination.

The New York Post responded by putting, “A Jail of Two Cities” on its front page.

Aside from being the commonplace corruption that one ought to expect from a politician trying to ban horses in Central Park because a wealthy real estate magnate wants to seize their stables, the Jail of Two Cities also reveals why government wars against inequality are a dead end.

When government is big, then the true inequality is not of wealth, but of political access. Money can buy you access, or as the recently released Orlando Findlayter discovered, so can being an activist who bets on the right horse-hating politician. The rich can write a check, but the poor can vote early and often. Access isn’t about money; it’s about becoming useful to those in power.

There are two cities and two countries in America; the land of the politically connected who are part of a network that can score anything from millions in cash to open door prisons and the land of the politically unconnected who don’t understand why the government won’t leave them alone. It won’t leave them alone because in a corrupt system, being left alone is a special political favor.

Government should not be concerned with the inequality of income, which isn’t in its purview, but with the inequality of access, which is. It’s not the job of government to even out how much money everyone makes, but it is its job to ensure that everyone has equal access to government.

In a city or a country run by income inequality campaigners like Barack Obama or Bill de Blasio, the inequality of wealth takes a back seat to the inequality of access. Battling income inequality leads directly to inequality of access by putting the equalizers in charge of picking winners and losers through the agency of an expanding government.

The bigger government gets, the less sense it makes to invest in business and the more sense it makes to invest in politicians. Powerful politicians are a much less riskier investment than millions of customers whose behavior is hard to predict.

The unpredictability of the public makes competition possible and reduces income inequality while the predictability of politicians is a monopoly that increases income inequality as political monopolies become economic monopolies.

Obama handed out hundreds of millions to the Green Energy tycoons who supported him and dispenses ambassadorships to unqualified bundlers who barely know the name of the major country they have been assigned to. Voters who came out in collective groups for Obama got wealth redistribution paydays. Everyone else got taxed.

There is no equality of access even within the ranks of his supporters. The Obama voter was rewarded with ObamaCare, but the ObamaCare website was outsourced to an incompetent company whose top executive was a pal of Michelle Obama. The company got a six hundred million dollar contract and the ObamaPhone voters got a broken website and hours on hold.

Government works when it’s held accountable. Inequality campaigners avoid accountability by assembling a base of enthusiastic voters who come out in large percentages to score special access. Those voters are hard to beat because, like the politicians they vote for, they take bribes, using their votes to gain insider access in a corrupt system while ruining it for everyone else.

They take the bribes and then complain that nothing works. And they’re the reason why. Their corrupt choices are why the sidewalks are cracked, the streetlights don’t turn on at night, the firefighters don’t show up and the pension fund is empty. They have become complicit in a corrupt system that encourages them to take advantage of others even as it takes advantage of them.

A thief is still a thief whether he wears a mask, a suit or a t-shirt with a social justice slogan. When people appoint thieves to steal for them, they shouldn’t be surprised when the thieves also steal from them. As the scorpion said to the frog, “You knew what I was when you let me ride.”

The voters who most depend on government vote to break it far more thoroughly than any Tea Party politician could. No Republicans could have done to Detroit what Detroit did to Detroit. Not even the most extreme Tea Party politician could have done as much damage to the federal government as Obama did.

Corruption and ineptitude are far more of a threat to the progressive vision than any number of people waving Gadsden flags. Republicans can shut down a progressive program, but only progressives can discredit it from the inside the way that Obama has done with ObamaCare; taking it apart piece by piece to cover for his incompetence and appease pieces of his coalition.

The urban and rural political centers of the Democratic Party are places where the progressive vision lies dead and buried with a stake through its rotten heart while its zombie policy corpse shambles around decaying streets moaning, “Money, money, money.”

It doesn’t take the Koch Brothers to kill the left. Letting the left have what it wants does it much more devastatingly, but with more collateral damage.

Campaigns against income inequality invariably become mandates for corruption as aggrieved voters convinced that the system is rigged against them embrace the unfair advantage that they believe they are owed and politicians escape accountability from their own corrupt voters because every crime they commit is officially for the benefit of the underclass.

Class warfare leads to a culture of thievery even inside the most Socialist systems. The Soviet Union’s class warfare produced Homo Sovieticus, a disgusting creature who believed that “Everything belongs to the collective, everything belongs to me” and accordingly stole everything that he could get his hands on leading to a broken system where nothing was available in stores and everything was available on the black market.

Even after the fall of the USSR, $400 billion in bribes are paid out annually. Russians bribe their officials for access. Americans bundle donations to them. The more power a government has over its people, the more people are willing to pay for access to those who hold power over them.

The cycle of corruption follows its own inevitable momentum. The more people come to believe that a system is corrupt, the fewer will vote for honest politicians over the crooks who promise them special benefits. Everyone becomes cynical and complicit in the corruption. Politicians play divide and conquer, redistributing wealth from some groups to other groups. Trust vanishes from government and financial institutions. Everyone suspects everyone else… and everyone steals.

That is the formula for a failed nation, a failed city and a failed community. A society is built on confidence in its institutions and its people. When that confidence falls apart, then nothing works and everyone has someone to blame. Social justice politicians begin by telling a tale of two cities and end by locking up everyone in a jail of two cities to which they alone hold the key.
