Protestors fight police after another shooting.

Another seemingly justified police shooting near Ferguson, MO briefly followed a sadly predictable script. In nearby Berkeley, a white police officer, aged 34, fired three shots, killing black American Antonio Martin, aged 18. The officer was responding to a report of stealing at a Mobil on the Run gas station. Martin allegedly pulled a 9mm handgun on the six-year veteran, who stumbled backwards as he fired, striking Martin once. “He will carry the weight of this for the rest of his life, certainly for the rest of his career,” said St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar, referring to the unidentified officer. “There are no winners here.”

Unfortunately, there were plenty of losers. Despite the efforts of Mayor Theodore Hoskins, who explained the shooting had been captured on a surveillance camera and a weapon was recovered on the scene, between 200 and 300 protesters gathered there and began fighting with police officers. One of three explosive devices (possible fireworks) tossed near gas pumps sent one officer to the hospital with injuries to his leg, while another sustained facial lacerations as a result of bricks thrown at the officers by the mob. Several police cars were also damaged by rocks protesters brought to the area. Four people were arrested for assault.

Belmar said he understood why a crowd would gather, but he noted that “to come there armed with explosive devices is certainly something that is not safe for our community, is not safe for our businesses and is certainly not safe for our officers.” He also addressed questions from the crowd as to why the officer couldn’t have used pepper spray or a Taser to subdue the victim. He characterized that response as “unreasonable.” “We had somebody who was pointing a gun at a police officer,” he explained. “With not a lot of time, I would imagine that most of us would feel like we were in imminent danger of losing our lives at that point. And I think the officer responded with what he thought was commensurate force at the time.”

“I understand the emotions and I understand these young people are looking for something, but I think we have to understand the context of what happens down there with these kinds of situations,” he added.

The incident occurred at approximately 11:15 p.m. Tuesday night. The officer encountered two men at the parking lot in the 6800 block of North Hanley Road and began talking to them. Belmar said one of the men approached the drivers side of the police vehicle. According to the police officer’s attorney, Brian Millikan, the other man kept wandering away despite the officer’s commands to remain close by.

One of the two men “produced a pistol with his arm straight out, pointing it straight at the officer kind of from across the hood,” Belmar said, further noting the police officer had a flashlight in his left hand and was near his driver’s side door while the armed man stood near the headlights on the passenger side of the vehicle. The officer proceeded to get his handgun “and fired what we think is three shots,” Belmar said. One struck Martin, one struck a tire on the police car, and the third shot remains unaccounted for.

After the shooting the officer was placed on administrative leave. Belmar revealed the suspect’s “defaced” 9 mm gun “had five rounds in the chamber and one round in the magazine.” He further revealed Martin had a criminal record that included three assault charges, as well as charges for armed robbery, armed criminal action and multiple unlawful uses of a weapon.

Millikan recounted further details provided to him by the officer hours after the shooting “The other guy was doing the talking, and as the cop starts talking, the suspect starts walking away again,” Millikan said. “At that point, the cop says, ‘Hey, come back here,’ and he turns around, pulls a gun from his left pant pocket. He’s trying to process all of this, and the suspect raises it, points it at him. The cop pulls his weapon and starts backpedaling and fired three or four shots. It happened that quickly. He doesn’t understand why the suspect’s gun didn’t fire. I’m not sure if he tried to pull the trigger and it jammed,” he added.

Millikan who further characterized the behavior of the two suspects as “bizarre” speculated that his client might have been set up for an ambush because the suspects remained at the scene after store employees called 911. “Their behavior is certainly bizarre, and it wouldn’t surprise me at all, in the environment we are in, that’s for sure,” he contended.

Belmar noted the officer dropped his flashlight when he stumbled while backpedaling, with Mayor Hoskins characterizing that as a blessing in disguise that may have saved the officer’s life. The officer had been given a body camera at the beginning of his shift, but wasn’t wearing it. Belmar said the officer was doing something else when it was handed out and simply forgot to put it on. The police car’s dashboard camera was also inoperative at the time because the car’s emergency lights were not on, Belmar explained.

All three men were relieved the incident was captured by surveillance cameras. Only the part prior to the shooting has been released so far. “The video goes on; there’s no reason for the family of this young man to have to see the rest of the video,” Belmar said, adding the department would be distributing more video from the scene, including footage of the officer retreating, to provide transparency.

According to Belmar, the officer was involved in a similar incident in 2011 or 2012, during which he and a suspect struggled for the officer’s gun. To prevent the suspect from using it, the officer purposefully dropped the magazine out of the weapon and fired the chambered round into the floor.

Martin’s family, who couldn’t be located initially, finally emerged. And while his mother admitted he had problems, it “doesn’t make any sense for them to kill my son like this,” Toni Martin-Green contended.

Belmar expressed condolence for both families. “These are nothing but tragedies,” he said. “This is a family right now that, regardless of the decisions that this individual made, are without a family member this Christmas season. This is also a tragedy for the police officer. He will carry the weight of this for the rest of his life, certainly for the rest of his career. This really underscores the task that our police officers across the nation have to deal with day in and day out as they answer these calls in our community,” he added.

Belmar also praised Berkeley Police Chief Frank McCall for helping to calm the protests that dissipated by 3 a.m., noting he had ordered his commanders to “let this emotion vent. Let this happen.” Hoskins was also adamant, “You can’t compare this to Ferguson or the Garner case in New York,” he said emphasizing the videotape showed Martin pointing a gun at the officer. Nonetheless, he promised an investigation would be conducted in addition to the one by the St. Louis County Police.

The Mayor also illuminated the racial breakdown of the department. Out of 31 officers, 17 or 18 are African-American, and approximately 75 percent of the command staff are black, along with the the mayor, police chief and other city officials. The community itself is just over 9,000 residents, 80 percent of whom are black American.

Hoskins made one stumble. “At this point, our review indicates that the police did not initiate this, like Ferguson,” he stated. Considering the Ferguson grand jury’s findings, that statement is disingenuous at best, and self-serving at worst. However, the Mayor did stand strong when his press conference was interrupted by black Baptist minister Jason Keith Coleman, who characterized the shooting as another act of aggression by “trigger happy” police officers. “Everybody don’t die the same,” Hoskins snapped back. “Some people die because they initiate it, and at this point, our review suggests police did not initiate it.”

Earlier that evening Belmar addressed equally spurious assertions, noting that he had “already seen through social media that this officer stopped (Martin), questioned him, frisked him and then killed him in cold blood — well, that’s not what you’re going to see when you see the video.”

Considering what has, and continues to transpire in New York and other hotspots around the nation, one might be forgiven for wondering whether it matters. Despite the successful efforts of local officials, a leftist agenda, replete with false narratives, continues to widen the divide between police and the communities they serve. It is driven by those for whom police officers will forever be “ trigger happy,” irrespective of evidence, because a divided America, along with the eternal victimization of black Americans, is the only thing that separates the racial arsonists from the irrelevance they so richly deserve. That includes our feckless president, who chooses to remain on the golf course in Hawaii while Vice President Joe Biden has been dispatched to attend the one of the two funerals of the two minority officers slain in New York City.

President Obama could have sent a powerful message with his attendance. Instead, he sends an equally powerful message with his absence. There is no political mileage to be gained by standing with police officers, even as his ideological fellow travelers stand against them, all of their protestations to the contrary notwithstanding. Like his execrable Attorney General Eric Holder, Obama prefers the company of uber race-baiter Al Sharpton. It is this trio of men, along with New York’s equally feckless Mayor, Bill de Blasio, who have cultivated the “us against them”mentality they see as a vehicle for the “fundamental transformation” of America.

Ultimately, Berkeley, MO may prove that such a transformation is far from inevitable. We are a far better nation than the American left would have us believe, and the bet here is most Americans are finally beginning to realize it, one in their face, over the top, cop-bashing—and killing—moment after another.

The mobs of racist Garner/Brown protesters are being falsely described as peaceful by their PR corps in the media. The reality is ugly and brutal.

NYPD officers were swarmed by protesters in a knock-down, drag-out brawl on the Brooklyn Bridge on Saturday night that sent two police lieutenants to the hospital.

The president of the NYPD Hispanic Society on Sunday demanded that Mayor de Blasio and the City Council “denounce these disgraceful protests calling for dead police officers.

“Many elected officials are quick to speak out against police officers, but now that we need them to calm our city, where is their press conference on the steps of City Hall?” said the leader, Dennis Gonzalez. “Their silence is deafening. Tweets about non-violence and peaceful protests aren’t good enough.”

Instead Bill de Blasio continued supporting the racist Garner mobs.

De Blasio released a statement Saturday in which he first talked about how “peaceful” city protesters have been.

“The people of New York have provided an example to the world on how to protest, march and express themselves in a peaceful and respectful manner,” the mayor said.

They’re not the “people of New York” and their only example, like De Blasio’s example, is in how to racially divide a city, spread hate and hurt people.

“[The officers] were punched by numerous people,” said Deputy Commissioner of Intelligence and Counter Terrorism John lMiller. “They were kicked in their face and in the head while the group attempted to steal their portable radios and tear away their police identification jackets.”

The left has become America’s biggest hate group.

Did you bury a teenage girl alive after shooting her? Are you on death row after a string of crimes too gruesome to describe? Or are you just a member of Al Qaeda dedicated to destroying America?

If so progressives will fight for you. Just dial 1-800-IAM-VICTIM and the leftist waiting to take your call will insist on your presumption of innocence. Its activists, reporters and lawyers will exploit every pretext to get you off the hook and they will call that justice.

The judicial process, they will say, matters more than public safety, public outrage or the victims.

When the crime wave set loose by their own activism flooded the country they clung to Blackstone’s formulation of “It is better that ten guilty persons escape than that one innocent suffer.” As murders, rapes and robberies rose, the value of that formulation went up from ten to ten thousand.

But it had to be the right ten thousand.

Leftist lynch mobs rioting in Ferguson, marching through Manhattan and screaming in Oakland assert that the presumption of innocence doesn’t apply to police officers or white Hispanics. Their poses of victimization with their cries of “Black lives matter” and “I can’t breathe” disguise what they really are.

They were protesting before the case moved forward. They have continued protesting after the verdict was in. That’s not a call for justice. It’s a lynch mob that knows what the verdict should be and seeks to intimidate the authorities into giving it to them by taking the law into their own hands.

Rolling Stone’s rape story was cooked out of the same ingredients; a presumption of guilt and a lynch mob demanding its own brand of justice. The facts never mattered.

The assistant managing editor at the University of Virginia’s student paper admitted that when she argued, “To let fact checking define the narrative would be a huge mistake.”

It was never about the facts. It was about the narrative. And the narrative was not only the guilt of a few men, but the way that their guilt stood in for the guilt of all men or all white people. The factual question of whether Officer Darren Wilson or a few UVA students committed a crime was a technicality.

Since the racist and sexist narrative states that all white people or all men are inherently guilty, the factual question of whether a few men actually raped someone doesn’t matter. The factual question of whether a police officer is actually guilty under the law is so obscure that it isn’t worth discussing.

Fact checking just obstructs the narrative that all white people or all men are guilty.

The old lynch mobs presumed that a black man was guilty on account of his race. So do the new lynch mobs.

Wilson’s crime wasn’t shooting Michael Brown. It was shooting him while being white. If he had been black, we wouldn’t be talking about it now. If the black sergeant supervising the takedown of Eric Garner had been the one to restrain him, there would be no protesters shouting “I can’t breathe”.

Subtract the race of the perpetrator and the case wouldn’t exist. That’s what makes the case racist.

A lynch mob brought into existence by the race of the man they want lynched is a racist lynch mob.

At Ferguson and the University of Virginia not only was the crime assumed into existence before the verdict was in, but the action of one police officer in Ferguson was used to indict all police officers and then all white people. The actions of a few men at the University of Virginia were used to indict the entire fraternity and then all fraternities and then all men.

Classic lynch mobs treated the actions of one black rapist as a justification for repressing all black people. The leftist lynch mobs at Ferguson and the University of Virginia used the accusation of an individual crime to call for the repression of entire groups, to attack all white people and all men.

Even if these crimes had turned out to be substantiated, indicting hundreds of millions of people for the actions of a few is the narrative of a hate group. And that’s what progressives have shown that they are; a respectable establishment hate group that demonizes millions of people and leads lynch mobs.

One of the greatest lies of the left is that it believes in civil liberties. The ACLU’s civil libertarian colors were a convenient costume. It never existed to protect the rights of the people against leftist governments. It existed to protect the privileges of leftists.

That’s a direct quote from its co-founder.

Roger Nash Baldwin wrote, “If I aid the reactionaries to get free speech now and then, if I go outside the class struggle to fight against censorship, it is only because those liberties help to create a more hospitable atmosphere for working class liberties… When that power of the working class is once achieved, as it has been only in the Soviet Union, I am for maintaining it by any means whatever.”

When Baldwin wrote these words, he was speaking of a Soviet Union led by Stalin which was maintaining its dictatorship of the proletariat through a secret police, torture and mass murder.

The co-founder of the ACLU was not only endorsing Stalin’s crimes, but he was also looking forward to an American Stalin rounding up enemies of the state and shooting them with the support of the ACLU.

The presumption of innocence is an idea that leftists only believe in when they aren’t in power.

When the left isn’t in power, then it may protect civil liberties to protect itself. When one of its own radicals is sitting in the White House, then it leads lynch mobs through the streets. The protests aren’t acts of weakness by victims, but signs of strength by oppressors.

The left is rejecting the democratic results of the midterm elections and turning to street violence. Their confidence is derived from the support of the establishment from the White House to the media. Never have lynch mobs received such universal acclaim from all the powers of the United States of America.

The progressive lynch mobs in Ferguson and at the University of Virginia contend that some crimes are too hurtful to a particular population to be protected by the presumption of innocence. Some suspects should be presumed guilty because of the combination of their race and gender with a national crisis.

After fighting for Al Qaeda terrorists at Gitmo, the left hypocritically decided that the presumption of innocence should apply to Muslim terrorists but not to police officers. The civil libertarians of the left went from championing the rights of criminals over those of victims to embracing the conservative position of victim rights… as long these rights are reserved for only the right sorts of victims.

The activists of the left must be forced to admit whether they are for or against the presumption of innocence. If they want to dispense with the presumption of innocence when it comes to enemies of the people like police officers and fraternity members, it will also go away for Islamic terrorists and violent thugs. Not to mention Weather Underground terrorists teaching at prestigious progressive colleges.

We cannot have a presumption of innocence for some people and not others. The left is not entitled to create two justice systems for two types of people. One group will be lynched with a formality of a trial manipulated to produce a verdict that not only damns one defendant, but also his entire race or gender. The other will receive every possible defense no matter how obvious his guilt may be.

America is a nation of laws, not of racist lynch mobs. Its trials are based on facts, not on narratives. The presumption of innocence matters more than the narrative and the social justice hashtag. Without it all we have left are racist lynch mobs with smartphones marching through Manhattan.

This is law school which means we’re dealing with people who are legal adults in every sense of the word. Some of their counterparts are in combat in Afghanistan or married with several kids.

It’s bad enough that schools treat children this way, but now we’re Peter Panning further into permanent childhood.

The grand juries’ determinations to return non-indictments in the Michael Brown and Eric Garner cases have shaken the faith of some in the integrity of the grand jury system and in the law more generally. For some law students, particularly, though not only, students of color, this chain of events is all the more profound as it threatens to undermine a sense that the law is a fundamental pillar of society designed to protect fairness, due process and equality.

I doubt the average Columbia Law student believes that. The average Columbia Law prof certainly doesn’t.

Furthermore the real lesson of both of these verdicts is the great value of liberal lawyers that the law protects the presumption of innocence for suspects. With these cases, liberals suddenly insisting on adopting the victims first rhetoric of a lot of conservatives which is incoherently hypocritical.

In recognition of the traumatic effects these events have had on some of the members of our community, Dean Greenberg-Kobrin and Yadira Ramos-Herbert, Director, Academic Counseling, have arranged to have Dr. Shirley Matthews, a trauma specialist, hold sessions next Monday and Wednesday for anyone interested in participating to discuss the trauma that recent events may have caused .

Columbia Law is bringing in a trauma specialist for adults who haven’t actually experienced anything. They just watched television.

The law school has a policy and set of procedures for students who experience trauma during exam period. In accordance with these procedures and policy, students who feel that their performance on examinations will be sufficiently impaired due to the effects of these recent events may petition Dean Alice Rigas to have an examination rescheduled.

Just wait till these special snowflakes make it to a courtroom.

When disregarding evidence is required to perpetuate radical myths.

The August 9, 2014 shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, MO by Officer Darren Wilson was the origin of a national myth. Myths are sacred stories that serve to explain the world view of a people. They often originate as distorted accounts of real historical events that storytellers repeatedly elaborate on until the primary figure in the account achieves the status of a saint or a god. A culture’s myths provide a sense of identity, shared lifestyle, affirm beliefs and values and are expressed in symbols and rituals. A national myth is a fictional narrative that omits important historical details, or adds details where there is no evidence, but is held as true due to its symbolic meaning for the nation. Michael Brown has become the symbol of racism, police brutality and social injustice. Evidence is irrelevant because myths are symbolic not literal truths.

Disregarding forensic evidence and a grand jury decision is necessary and required to perpetuate the national myth of institutionalized racism, oppression and inequality. The mythology functions as a method to demonize police, inculcate fear, justify violence, promote vengeance and achieve political agendas. The death of Michael Brown has been formatted and packaged by the mainstream media that serve as an outlet for state-sponsored propaganda. Correspondents use selective and biased reporting to propagate the national mythology. However, protest signs, graffiti, hand signs, flags, masks and other symbols in Ferguson reveal a different alternative narrative.

Highly publicized slogans written on protest signs and in graffiti such as RIP Mike Brown, No Justice No Peace, Black Lives Matter and many more supported the narrative of the peaceful protester airing legitimate grievances. Although the media was more than happy to incessantly write negative stories on the so called militarization of the police most neglected to include images of graffiti and signs that read ‘The only good cop is a dead cop’, No more pigs in our community, Kill Cops, Fuck The Police, Die Pig Die and wanted posters with pictures of Officer Darren Wilson that read wanted for racist murder. Wanted Dead or Alive was on the Facebook page of a lead advisor and liaison for the New Black Panther Party.

Vandalism of St. Louis landmarks were reported primarily because the graffiti was inspired by the recently released film the Hunger Games. ‘If we burn, you burn with us’ was spray painted on the 1897 arch known as the Flora Place Gates. Written one day prior to the grand jury decision it was a reference to a quote from the popular film in which the oppressive government is overthrown by heroic rebels. The full quote is “You can torture us and bomb us and burn our districts to the ground, but do you see that? Fire is catching! And if we burn, you burn with us!” Unsurprisingly almost all of the news accounts neglected to report the letters FTP written next to the quote, FTP stands for Fuck the Police. The 150 reportedly peaceful protesters were members of the group Anarcho-Communist Solidarity Alliance who proudly took credit for desecrating the arch. They also defaced a 100 year old statue known as ‘Naked Truth’ by painting FTP on the front. The statue was a memorial to three civil rights heroes.

The quintessential symbol of the Ferguson incident is ‘Hands Up, Don’t Shoot’ which is both a hand sign and a symbol. It has become the protest meme for Ferguson and has been extremely effective in perpetuating the national myth that Michael Brown had his arms up surrendering when he was shot by Officer Wilson. This lie was essential to the legend that transformed Michael Brown from a felon to a folk saint. Hands Up, Don’t Shoot is the emblem of black victimhood and racist cops. Everyone from small children to the elderly, from Rams football players to members of congress have raised their arms making the gesture to demonstrate their solidarity with Michael Brown and the protesters in Ferguson. The gesture has become a rallying cry for this new anti-police movement. It will soon escalate to a sacred ritual practice in the veneration of the new saint Michael Brown.

Similar to the Muslim Brotherhood R4BIA sign the new symbol allegedly originated with a story of martyrs gunned down by authorities. The phrase Hands Up, Don’t Shoot is often written on protest signs and graffiti with two hand prints or simply depicted as two handprints symbolizing the expression. Handprints used to have such lovely connotations such as children’s first finger paintings and signs of ancient civilizations on rock art, now they symbolize the national myth of Mike Brown’s martyrdom.

Michael Brown was familiar with hand signs. Several images from his social media accounts show him wearing red and throwing hand signs that demonstrate allegiance to the Bloods street gang. It was reported that his stepfather Louis Head, who urged protesters to Burn this bitch down on the evening of riots, looting and arson, has a documented affiliation with the notorious Bloods street gang. Although gangbangers don’t flaunt their colors in public as much as they used to, colors and other identifiers are displayed at gang functions and funerals. This may explain why Louis Head and Michael Browns mother Lesley McSpadden both wore red to his funeral. A family of gangbangers does not fit into the national myth of an innocent unarmed black youth being shot down by a white racist police officer.

Flags also frequently appeared during the Ferguson protests, everything from Pan African to Palestinian flags were displayed. Communist flags were also flaunted. It was a regular Anti-American, Anti-capitalist, multicultural, anarchist, victimhood hootenanny. There were American flags but they were routinely desecrated, burned in effigy and frequently flown upside down. Displaying an American flag upside down is an official distress signal that should only be used in instances of extreme danger to life or property. The protesters fly it upside down to signify political distress. On one occasion a group of National Guardsmen who understand the sanctity of the American flag walked into the crowd of protesters to collect the remains of one of the burned flags. According to an article in the Blaze a protester couldn’t comprehend why they cared so much about the flag since it was just a piece of cloth. That symbolizes the real national problem.

Another prevalent symbol in the Ferguson protests were Guy Fawkes masks. These masks which depict a white face with an over-sized smile, red cheeks, a wide moustache upturned at both ends, and a thin vertical pointed beard originally referred to Guy Fawkes, a member of the Gunpowder Plot, an attempt to blow up the House of Lords in London in 1605. After the stylized version of the mask was used in the 2006 film V for Vendetta it has come to represent anarchists in general and has been visible in anti-government and anti-establishment protests around the world including the Occupy Movement. Often during pro-Palestinian protests a keffiyeh scarf will be wrapped around the mask. The mask is also the symbol for the online hacktivist group Anonymous who were very involved in Ferguson by organizing protests through their online Operation Ferguson. Anonymous was also responsible for several cyber-attacks including hacking into the City of Ferguson’s website shutting down email and phones, and releasing personal information on almost all city employees as vengeance for perceived attacks against protesters. They also hacked into Ku Klux Klan social media accounts and published the names of Klan members because they threatened protesters with the use of lethal force.

Fortunately there are anti-mask laws that are currently enforced in cities like New York. Ironically the origin of anti-mask laws was to prevent the KKK from concealing their identities. Many protesters were also wearing gas masks which serve two functions; to hide their identity and protect against fumes so they can continue to burn and loot without interruption. Gas masks which used to symbolize danger, war and environmental pollution have also been adopted by the Occupy Movement as a symbol of defiance and fortitude. But the real reason is to prevent facial recognition of the cowards who hide behind them.

A national myth is incomplete without sacred shrines and memorials to the martyred saint. A road side shrine with flowers and candles immediately appeared on the spot where the shooting occurred, others soon followed. In keeping with the racial injustice myth there were allegations that a police dog urinated on one memorial and that the police burned down one of the others. The proximity of candles to stuffed animals was not taken into consideration since it did not contribute to the racist cop narrative as much as the alleged desecration of sacred shrines. There have also been several murals painted in homage to Mike Brown. A Trenton, N.J. mural that depicted Brown’s face with the caption “Sagging pants … is not probable cause” was painted over due to concerns that it sent the wrong message about community and police relations and is now a civil rights controversy in that city.

The Ferguson mural has Mike Brown’s name, portrait, the letters RIP, stop the violence and Hands Up. Murals signify street shrines and are the final phase in the canonization of the Folk Saint. Future protesters will make annual pilgrimages to reenact the death of their martyr. Many protesters are already performing rituals referred to as ‘die in’ protests where they lay on the ground with chalk outlines to represent a mock crime scene, posing as individuals shot by police. Rituals, shrines and roadside memorials are the necessary symbolic attributes for the evolution of a folk saint. Like the Mexican Narco Saint Jesus Malverde Mike Brown has become the patron saint of the disenfranchised, racially oppressed and impoverished. The legend of Malverde has many similarities, he is depicted as a generous bandit who stole from the rich to give to the poor and was killed by local police. Michael Brown was transformed from a street thug into a Folk Saint to propagate the national myth of institutionalized racism.

Governor Jay Nixon answers why the National Guard left North County unprotected the night of the Grand Jury decision.

On November 24th, businesses burned while National Guard Quick Responders waited for a call that didn’t come until after midnight.

One guardsmen told me, “We were watching, on TV and smart phones, the city burn, while we stood by ready.”
The 700 Guardsmen who got the call were sent to St. Louis City and Clayton.

Governor: “No, what I`m saying is the plan was that the law enforcement officers who have been trained would be out on the front lines. You didn`t want to have a Kent State situation. You certainly didn`t want to have a situation where Guardsmen who had only been there a few hours, who had not been used to the very kinetic atmosphere of people throwing things, screaming things at the very front tip of that spear. That was the plan. I think it has prevented loss of life.”

The lives being protected were those of the criminals not of their victims. That’s what the whole Michael Brown/Garner/Martin thing comes down to. Pandering to criminals. And it’s not just Democrats who are doing it. Too many “conservatives” have jumped on the bandwagon.

Nixon’s priorities are familiar ones. In New York City, Mayor Dinkins, Bill de Blasio’s old boss, chose to let the rioters and looters set off by Al Sharpton have a “day of grace” to beat and kill as many Jews as they wanted.

The police were ordered not to respond, to retreat in fact when they came under attack from bottles, rocks and even shotguns. Only when Dinkins and his police commissioner came under attack, did they finally unchain the NYPD. If Nixon was having his house burned, then the National Guard would be called in, but Ferguson’s businesses were owned by minorities, by blacks and Asians. They could be sacrificed.

The police could be sacrificed too.

These movements are about freeing criminals to kill, rob and terrorize. There are people out there who want to bring back the worst days of the sixties and seventies. This isn’t about opposing police brutality. It’s about supporting criminal brutality against ordinary people.

How Obama has implemented Alinsky's tactics of social revolution to tear a city – and a nation – apart.

If the late Saul Alinsky—the America-hating godfather of community organizing—had fathered a black son, he’d look like Barack Obama.[1] Obama has embraced, revered, and employed Alinsky’s philosophy and tactics of social revolution for decades. Indeed, he even taught Alinsky’s methods in community-organizing workshops and seminars in Chicago, when he was a much younger Marxist. As we witness the continuing racial unrest sparked by the shooting of Michael Brown and the Ferguson grand jury’s subsequent decision not to indict Officer Darren Wilson, it is vital to understand that everything the protesters/rioters are doing—in Ferguson and elsewhere—is straight out of Alinsky’s most famous publications, Rules For Radicals and Reveille For Radicals. And Obama has encouraged them, every step of the way.

Obama and Alinsky never actually met in person, as Alinsky died when Obama was just 11 years old. Happily for the future president, by that time he had already been introduced to the man who would mentor him throughout his adolescent years—the America-hating, pro-Soviet, pro-Stalin, Communist writer Frank Marshall Davis. Thus, when Obama eventually encountered Alinsky through the latter’s writings, the young community organizer was well prepared ideologically to soak up Alinsky’s message.

In his quest to cultivate the type of chaos that would spark social revolution against America’s capitalist system, Alinsky exhorted activists to constantly “rub raw the resentments of the people” and “fan the latent hostilities to the point of overt expression”—but to do this in measured tones, so as not to “scare off” middle-class Americans.

Thus did Obama dutifully and blandly call for “unity” and calm in the immediate aftermath of Michael Brown’s “heartbreaking and tragic” death, even as he repeatedly reminded us that: “police should not be bullying or arresting” anyone without cause; “in too many communities, too many young men of color are left behind and left as objects to fear”; “there is no excuse for excessive force by police”; “the justice gap” between whites and nonwhites is unacceptable; “the criminal-justice system doesn’t treat people of all races equally”; and “too many young men of color feel targeted by law enforcement, guilty of walking while black, or driving while black, judged by stereotypes that fuel fear and resentment and hopelessness.” And when the grand jury in Ferguson subsequently chose not to indict Darren Wilson because the officer obviously had shot Michael Brown in self-defense, Obama pronounced the black community’s indignation to be “an understandable reaction.”

Obama’s carefully chosen words—all delivered in the type of nonthreatening tenor advocated by Saul Alinsky—clearly communicated a single, foundational theme to African Americans: In the racist cesspool known as the United States, black people are routinely treated like second-class citizens, if not subhumans. Oh, and by the way, please remain calm. Wink, wink.

Alinsky also taught that in some cases activists must be completely willing—for the sake of the moral principles in whose name they profess to act—to turn up the proverbial heat and watch society descend into chaos and anarchy; to “go into a state of complete confusion and draw [their] opponent into the vortex of the same confusion.” “Wherever possible,” Alinsky counseled, “go outside the experience of the enemy. Here you want to cause confusion, fear, and retreat.”

Mobs of shouting protesters can accomplish that objective quite effectively—even if, as in the present case, they are oblivious to the irony that the poster-child of their crusade is a multiple felon who tried unsuccessfully to murder a police officer. Such demonstrations tend to give onlookers the impression that a mass movement is not only well underway, but may actually be preparing to shift into an even higher gear at any moment. A “mass impression,” said Alinsky, can be lasting and intimidating. Thus did President Obama recently meet at the White House with Al Sharpton, his leading advisor on race-related matters, and other protest leaders from Ferguson, urging them to “stay on course” with their activism.

Yet another highly noteworthy observation by Alinsky was this: “Power is not only what you have but what the enemy thinks you have.” “The threat,” he explained, “is usually more terrifying than the thing itself.” Thus, “if your organization is small in numbers,… raise a din and clamor that will make the listener believe that your organization numbers many more than it does.”

This can be well achieved by orchestrating a host of simultaneous demonstrations in multiple cities or venues, exactly as the highly organized Gentle Giant crusade has been doing. The stature of these rallies is magnified by the fact that they receive lots of media attention, while scores of millions of ordinary Americans who view them with contempt and dread are busy quietly going about their lives, caring for their families, working at their jobs, and pursuing their personal aspirations as they see fit. Such people are many thousands of times more numerous than the perpetually aggrieved rabble-rousers of the Left, but Alinsky understood—as Obama understands today—that a spraying skunk inevitably gets all the attention when it intrudes unexpectedly upon a picnic.

The America-hating Alinsky also taught that activists, in order to cast themselves as defenders of high-minded principles, must theatrically convey “shock, horror, and moral outrage” whenever any of their demands—however inconsequential—are not met. And no one conveys such emotions more convincingly than Obama’s aforementioned racial “advisor,” Al Sharpton, who vows to continue the Michael Brown/anti-police brutality crusade until the end of time if necessary. Alinsky understood quite well that even a pathetic moral degenerate like Sharpton can be an effective revolutionary if he is skilled in the otherwise worthless arts of bluster and righteous indignation.

Lest anyone think there might be a way to bridge the gap between civil society and the revolutionaries in the vanguard of the current Gentle Giant Brigades, a dose of reality is in order: Alinsky emphasized that the overarching objective of any crusade is never to promote peace or reconciliation, but rather to be unwaveringly “dedicated to an eternal war” in which “there are no rules of fair play” and “no compromise” whatsoever; to mercilessly “pulverize” people with “fear”; and ultimately to “force their capitulation.”

We got a glimpse of this mindset recently when we learned that two New Black Panther Party members were plotting not only to blow up St. Louis’s famed Gateway Arch, but also to assassinate Ferguson police chief Tom Jackson and the city’s prosecuting attorney Bob McCulloch. And a shrieking Louis Farrakhan, for his part, has been busy urging black Americans to throw Molotov cocktails at white people in order to fulfill a scriptural “law of retaliation”; condemning whites for allegedly “killing us” in large numbers; and warning that “we’ll tear this goddamn country up!”

Like all Marxists, Obama, Sharpton, Farrakhan, and the rest of their fellow revolutionaries seek to tear society apart by pitting the “races,” the “classes,” and the “genders” against one another—“rubbing raw” their respective “resentments” until hatred abounds in every person’s heart and mayhem fills the streets. Michael Brown’s corpse is merely a building block for these rabble rousers. They know that someday another African American will be killed by a white police officer and thus be anointed as their movement’s next martyred saint. Bit by bit, the inconvenient fact that Brown was a violent, abusive criminal whose death was brought about entirely by his own actions will be airbrushed out of public memory. And the grievance mongers of the “civil rights” movement will wistfully remember him as just another innocent black victim whose life was tragically cut short by white depravity.

Saul Alinsky would be proud.

NOTE:
[1] In March 2012, not long after the death of Trayvon Martin in Florida, President Obama famously said: “If I had a son, he’d look like Trayvon.”

Ward Connerly let loose on some of the hysteria over the Brown verdict.

Former University of California regent Ward Connerly lashed out on Sunday at University of California, Irvine after the school held a “healing, grieving, and support” counseling session in the wake of a Ferguson grand jury’s decision not to indict police officer Darren Wilson for the killing of Michael Brown.

“If they really wanted to have a teachable moment of understanding the facts of the case as they were presented to the grand jury, that would be one thing,” Connerly told Fox. “But this isn’t about processing facts. It’s about processing the emotions of what you have been told about the case.”

Connerly said that the school’s decision to hold a grief counseling session instead of legal lessons related to the case shows that the school rejects the version of events presented to the grand jury. Connerly also questioned why students in California need grief counseling for an event that happened halfway across the country.

“What’s surprising to me is how individuals 2,000 miles away can somehow get really emotionally attached to this verdict, which leads me to believe it is somewhat make-believe,” Connerly added. “The notion that they can get all riled up to the extent that they need psychological help is really pushing the envelope.”

It’s pushing the envelope because they needed psychological help all along. Or rather they’re emotionally immature products of helicopter parenting with no emotional controls and no limits on their self-esteem.

They don’t deal in facts. Rationality mediates emotional responses. And that has left the building at most colleges today as much as any place in Iraq or Pakistan. Nobody has any perspective. Nobody believes in objectivity. There are no more filters and constant tantrums.

Grief counseling is not really about grief now, it’s about calming down upset overgrown toddlers.

In what is believed to be the only college program of its kind, the undergraduates in Occidental College’s Campaign Semester course spent at least 2 1/2 months, often seven days a week, 12 hours a day, working on behalf of candidates in contested states.

None won.

Early election night, Tieman started driving from one campaign office to another when Hagan was in the lead. She sang aloud as she drove, excited for the victory.

When it was clear Hagan was going to lose, Tieman began “gross-sobbing and ugly-crying.”

The two professors teaching the course — Peter Dreier and Regina Freer — were concerned enough that they asked the religious counselor to visit the class.

This is what your modern prog looks like.

Ben Shapiro breaks down the witness testimony from the St. Louis County Police Investigative Report of the shooting of Michael Brown and demonstrates that, contrary to President Obama’s assertions, the black community in Ferguson did in fact make up the story of the racist cop murdering a teenager with his hands up. See the video and transcript below.

TRANSCRIPT:

The evidence shows that Michael Brown was an 18-year-old, 6’4”, 289-lb. black criminal who robbed a convenience store and attacked a police officer while high, then got shot – that’s what the grand jury determined when they decided not to indict Darren Wilson.

But evidence has never stopped people like Cher, who tweeted, “Something must b done 2 protect innocent young blk men.” Or Moby, who tweeted that “Darren Wilson chased Michael Brown and murdered him.” Or Serena Williams, who tweeted, “Wow. Just wow. Shameful. What will it take???” Or Katy Perry, who said, “praying for an equal America,” or Macklemore, who said “No justice,” and tried to block the I-5 in Seattle. Or Rihanna, who tweeted out a photo of this sign.

Or LeBron James, who tweeted this image.

Or the St. Louis Rams, five of whom walked onto the football field on Sunday in the “hands up, don’t shoot” pose.

President Obama, of course, jumped in, too. He said this:

…There are still problems and communities of color aren’t just making these problems up.

That’s a lie, at least with regard to Michael Brown. Grand jury testimony shows that the community of Ferguson, Missouri did make this problem up. In fact, they lied, they intimidated witnesses, and they pressured others to lie – all to put an innocent man behind bars for the rest of his life in the name of social justice.

According to the St. Louis County Police Investigative Report, the mob mentality began immediately. A huge crowd formed at the scene of the shooting almost instantaneously; that crowd included both Brown’s mother and his stepfather, according to witness testimony. The police report states:

The investigation of the scene was interrupted several times by death threats directed toward police officers and gunshots being fired by unknown persons around the crime scene.

One witness told police she didn’t want to “get involved for fear of retaliation.” She said, “I have to live here.” An adult male near the scene “commented to detectives as they walked by that he witnessed the incident and the officer was ‘in the right’ and ‘did what he had to do.’ He added the statements being made by bystanders in the complex were inaccurate… The male indicated he was not making any further comments or identifying himself.”

Two more witnesses, one male and one female, “said they were afraid to speak about what they witnessed. Both said they were worried about retaliation from people who live in the area.”

Still another witness said “threats… had been made to the residents of Canfield Green Apartment Complex. He said notes had been posted on various apartment buildings threatening people not to talk to the police, and gunshots were still being fired every night.” He said “there were at least 10 other people who were outside and saw exactly what happened.” He said Wilson told Brown to get down and that Brown never raised his hands.

In FBI interviews, witnesses repeated such accusations. Witness 10, whose account backed Wilson’s story, said, “I just wanted to come forward and just tell it how I seen it. Because I feel like it’s very rare that somebody’s gonna come forward and tell actually what happened.”

Witness 14, stated:

You have to understand the mentality of some of these young guys, they have nothing to do. When they can latch on the something they embellish it because they want something to do…The majority of them do not work. They all they do is sit around and get high all day.

Witness 14 added that within one minute of the shooting, there were 70 or 80 people “saying things that didn’t happen,” and they “started embellishing it when the stepfather showed up.” That would be this stepfather, Louis Head.

Witness 14 said witnesses were lying when they said the officer “ran up behind him shot him in the back.” Witnesses lied, he said, when they said he had “his hands straight up in the air.” Witnesses lied, he said, when they stated that Brown was shot while down. He continued. “They are set they are looking for a reason to explode, that’s what they, ‘cause they don’t have anything to do…

The original witness who started all of this, Dorian Johnson, helped Brown rob the convenience store. He then went on television and lied about Brown having his hands up and being shot from behind. He then had to change his story multiple times to fit the autopsy results. Still, there he was with MSNBC’s Chris Hayes last week, telling his lies.

And those lies had quickly become the prevailing wisdom. At least 12 witnesses claimed that Brown was shot from behind, which was factually false. At least 16 witnesses said Brown’s hands were up when he was shot, which was factually false. One witness said Wilson used a Taser, then a gun: false. Another said she witnessed the events, but admitted she was blocks away when the events occurred. Still another witness said there were two officers involved in the shooting, and admitted she couldn’t tell what she’d seen and what she’d read about the case. One witness admitted in testimony to changing his story to “coincide with what really happened.” Another witness said that he was friends with Brown, and that Brown was shot while on his knees. When informed that such a story contradicted all physical evidence, the man admitted that he had not seen the shooting and then asked if he could leave because he was “uncomfortable.”

This is evil. An entire community conspiring to put an innocent man in prison for the rest of his life based on his race is evil. But then again, so is “social justice” – the notion that individual lives and decisions don’t matter, so long as the narrative of American racism is forwarded. Truth is the first casualty of the social justice mob. And in Ferguson, and now across America, that mob runs wild.

The Left reveals how racist it really is.

The slogan of the wave of Ferguson protests is “Black Lives Matter.” But progressives are far more interested in toting around the corpse of Michael Brown to their protests than in the living man he was.

Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown and countless others like them grew up in broken families, their lives haunted by fathers and stepfathers with gang ties. The only masculine culture they had was that of the thug and that culture eventually killed them.

Criminal culture is even more fatal to criminals than it is to their victims. If you attack enough people, eventually one of them will fight back. Eventually one of them will kill you.

It wasn’t Darren Wilson who decided that black lives don’t matter. Michael Brown did. He did not grow up with a sense that his life was worth anything more than violent posturing could make of it. Just like Martin, that violent posturing eventually killed him.

Rappers recorded a tribute song to Michael Brown titled, “Don’t Shoot.” But Brown’s own songs had a different theme with lyrics like “My favorite part of killing people is when they hit the ground.”

Black criminals victimize other black people first. The Ferguson looters went after businesses serving the black community and businesses owned by black people. That’s the way it always is.

Which black lives really matter in Missouri; the lives of criminals shot by police officers or the black lives taken by criminals?

Missouri has a black homicide rate that is nearly double the nationwide homicide rate for black people. And it’s nearly six times higher than the overall murder rate in Missouri.

If the media were really outraged by lost black lives, they would be outraged by those numbers. If the protesters really wanted to say that black lives matter, they would fight those murder rates instead of contributing to them with their protests.

The story of Missouri’s murder rate is the story of the left. From the beginning to the end of the 1960s, murder rates doubled, rapes, robberies and car thefts doubled, assaults tripled and thefts quadrupled.

A decade in which America changed left a bloody trail of death and misery in its wake. The victims of the left’s transformation of America filled the gutters, morgues, prisons and hospitals.

When Giuliani pointed out that the police were there to protect black people, he was asserting that black lives matter. And unlike every single one of his self-righteous critics, he actually saved black lives.

The decision of his Socialist successor, Bill de Blasio, to move criminals back into housing projects was a statement that they don’t. Housing projects in the pre-Giuliani era belonged to drug dealers. Getting criminals out of housing projects saved black lives, especially those of children.

The “Black Lives Matter” protesters claim that there’s a crisis of police shootings. There isn’t. There is a crisis of young black men shooting each other.

After the shooting of drug dealer Derrick Jones, the NAACP breathlessly reported that 37 black people were shot by police in Oakland over four years. Meanwhile there were 1,594 shooting victims in Oakland in one year.

The vast majority of the perpetrators were black. The majority of murder victims were young black men. So were their killers.

The leading cause of death for young black men is murder. The perpetrators are other young black men.

If black lives really mattered, then the life of a young black man shot down by a criminal would matter at least as much as Michael Brown. But those black lives don’t matter.

The progressive Ferguson protesters not only don’t care about them, but they want to take more black lives by empowering criminals and crippling the police.

The gang is to the black community as the cartel is to lawless parts of Mexico, except that the American equivalents of the Narcocorrido, the songs glamorizing cartel drug dealers, are distributed by major music labels and their performers are invited to the White House.

While Mexico tries to fight drug and gang music, American progressives make it mainstream.

Gang culture in Black America, which is responsible for most of the gun violence in the country, isn’t the work of a few thugs in a burned out building; it’s promoted by progressives in the entertainment industry. The black lives taken by its glamorization of drug dealing and violent killing also don’t matter.

You don’t show that black lives matter by supporting criminal control over entire black neighborhoods. When you fight the criminals who are taking black lives, when you roll back crime, then you show that black lives really matter. When you help criminals you are announcing that black lives don’t matter.

Despite its self-righteousness about black lives mattering, the left isn’t any good at saving them. It is however really good at taking them. Planned Parenthood’s black outreach arm announced on Twitter that it was joining the Ferguson protests because #BlackLivesMatter.

More African-American lives were ended at abortion clinics in the United States than anywhere else. But those black lives also don’t matter.

The 6,000 black people murdered in one year don’t matter. The 400,000 black babies killed in one year don’t matter.

Does a black man have to be killed by a white cop for his life to matter to the left? That’s the only conclusion that can be drawn from Ferguson.

To the #BlackLivesMatter crowd, the furious white hipsters crowding malls and staging die-ins, black lives only matter when they feed their own political agendas, their grudges and their own egos.

If black lives really mattered to the left, it would not have built an entire industry, an entire culture and an entire political movement around taking them.

Progressives only care about black people when they’re using them as weapons. For black lives to matter to them, they have to be dead at the hands of a white man. For black unemployment to matter to them, they have to be able to blame it on Republicans. Black poverty, black homelessness only matter to them when they can cash in on a social justice solution that doesn’t fix the problem.

The rest of the time they don’t pay attention and don’t care.

Black people exist for the political convenience of progressives. Black lives don’t matter to them except when they can make use of them. The master-slave relationship has shifted from the plantation to the poll inflating the self-esteem and power of the masters while destroying the lives of their slaves.

The Ferguson protests are not about saving black lives, but promoting the pro-crime politics that take them. Its message is that all black people are criminals and have to be protected from law enforcement. By turning Michael Brown into the ubiquitous black man, the left reveals how racist it really is.

If black lives truly matter, then they matter when the conditions of their misery can’t be blamed on white people. If black lives truly mattered to the protesters, they would fight crime instead of supporting the criminals taking black lives.

The world’s biggest pop star incites violence.

Just in time to add fuel to the Ferguson fire, superstar singer Beyoncé has re-released a video for her dirge-like, 2013 single “Superpower,” in which she makes rioting against law enforcement look hip and romantic.

The overlong video opens with an image of the Black Power fist – a hint of things to come. Then the camera finds Beyoncé striding in super slo-mo down a stretch of urban Los Angeles devastation in a flesh-baring outfit that is difficult to describe; suffice it to say that, like too much fashion today, it is runway-fabulous but no one would wear it outside of a Beyoncé video. The salient point is that her getup inexplicably pairs this semi-nudity with a niqab, which she draws up over her face, exposing only her eyes.

This apparently displeased some Muslims. Twitter lit up with complaints such as, “Dear Beyoncé: Do you think you’re going to get away with wearing a version of Islamic head-dress, niqab, while promoting your Demonic music?” Another tweet: “Quoting our holy Quran and dressing in a niqab isn’t a fashion statement you dumb beyonce.” In the video’s context, it’s possible that Beyoncé intended for the look to be more Occupy Wall Street than Islamic. Or perhaps she was wearing a niqab to make Muslim head coverings sexier and more culturally acceptable. If so, it failed to convince at least one feminist, who lashed out on Twitter: “Sorry, Beyonce. Probably not in the best interest for women’s rights to make the niqab fashionable. Just sayin’.”

Back to the video. Beyoncé is gradually joined by a growing crowd of chic, wannabe revolutionaries sporting edgy hairstyles and clothing that looks like a privileged designer’s ridiculous fantasy of how urban youth dress. Some of them conceal their identities with gas masks and scarves, Occupy-style, because they know they’re about to commit crimes.

The dirge drags on as Beyoncé pouts, scowls, and growls. Her mob smashes car windows with baseball bats, hurls Molotov cocktails, and burns cop cars while Beyoncé sings: “The laws of the world never stopped us once/’Cause together we got plenty super power.” Except for the music and the ultrachic posturing, it suggests the real-life “sensitive urban zones” of Paris, where immigrant “youth” go on nightly, car-immolating rampages and challenge the police in territorial skirmishes.

As the song draws mercifully to a close, the privileged Beyoncé – having peeled off the niqab and donned a camouflage jacket that costs probably $3000 – faces off with her defiant, multicultural mob of chiseled cheekbones against a line of cops in riot gear. She stands next to a man in a balaclava reminiscent of her niqab. The two of them clasp hands Thelma and Louise-style in anticipation of the confrontation to come. The message: rioting, property destruction, anarchy, and attacking cops are cool – and nothing influences youth more than the aura of cool.

Who cares, you ask? She’s just another left-leaning celebrity exposing her own political ignorance. Why is her video important? It’s important because Beyoncé is arguably the biggest entertainer in the world now. With over 118 million albums sold, she is the top artist of the 2000s, with 17 Grammy awards, a Golden Globe nomination, and untold millions of fans worldwide. Her pop culture influence is incalculable, and pop culture – not politics – is where the progressive control takes root. When Beyoncé weighs in on an issue like the Ferguson tinderbox, her fans absorb the message and pump their fists along with her.

The video was actually first released last December, long before the August 2014 shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson. Why would Beyoncé believe that this is an appropriate time to put it back in the public eye?

Keep in mind that she is married to rapper Jay-Z, who has none of Beyoncé’s talent but all of her racial supremacism and political radicalism.* His song lyrics are replete with profanity, racial slurs, misogyny, glorification of violence, and expressions of racial grievance – not to mention anti-police hatred. “Dirt Off Your Shoulder” boasts of giving “a middle finger to the law.” A music video titled “No Church in the Wild,” which “Superpower” resembles, celebrates anarchy and depicts police trying to quell a violent riot. And “99 Problems” features a verse about blacks being racially profiled by the “motherfu**ing law.” In 2009 he released a song in honor of the newly-elected Obama entitled “My President is Black” (imagine if a country singer back in 2005 had performed a song called “My President is White”). The massively wealthy Jay-Z (he and his wife have a net worth of $1 billion) has also been a supporter, or at least an exploiter, of the Occupy movement.

The two are arguably Obama’s closest, and certainly most famous, friends in the entertainment industry. MTV even described their relationship with the President as “a mutual affection society” and Jay-Z’s friendship with him a “bromance.” In September 2012, Jay-Z and Beyoncé hosted a $40,000-per-person fundraisingreception which took in more than $4 million for Obama’s re-election campaign. Subsequently the dynamic duo were given State Department permission for a grand, whitewashed tour of the Communist utopia in Cuba, where Jay-Z appeared wearing a Ché T-shirt (in solidarity with a murdering coward who held musicians and blacks in contempt).

Music entertainers have a long tradition of anti-establishment, anti-authoritarian lyrics aimed at a rebellious youth audience. I don’t expect Beyoncé to come out with a pro-police anthem or an ode to Darren Wilson. But to re-release a video that openly advocates violent conflict with the police at this time of heightened tension between blacks and law enforcement is irresponsible at best, and incitement to violence at worst. The fact that Beyoncé is so closely linked to the President of the United States makes it all the more unconscionable, albeit unsurprising, since the “post-racial” Obama, who urged protesters to “stay the course,” hasn’t lifted a finger to quell the violent animus over Ferguson.

* Some of what followed was excerpted and paraphrased from the Horowitz Freedom Center’s Discover the Networks resource site about Jay-Z.

The disturbing level of community deceit that led to the false story of Michael Brown's death.

After a grand jury in St. Louis, Missouri, voted against the indictment of Officer Darren Wilson in the killing of 18-year-old black man Michael Brown, President Obama gave a short address to the nation. In it, he said he understood why some would feel disappointed at the verdict — an odd statement, given that all available evidence showed that Brown had robbed a convenience store, attacked Wilson in his vehicle, attempted to grab his gun and charged Wilson before Wilson shot him.

Then Obama dropped a doozy: “We need to recognize that this is not just an issue in Ferguson, this is an issue for America … there are problems and communities of color aren’t just making these problems up.”

Obama did not specify what problems he wanted to discuss. Nor did he explain why Ferguson’s issues were America’s. But the largest lie was the notion that “communities of color” don’t make problems up.

Because in Ferguson, that’s precisely what a community of color did.

In the immediate aftermath of the Brown shooting, grand jury documents show, witness intimidation and lying became the order of the day. Witness after witness told police that local thugs were intimidating those who had seen the events. One witness told police, according to the St. Louis Police Investigative Report, that threats “had been made to the residents of Canfield Green Apartment Complex.” This witness said that “notes had been posted on various apartment buildings threatening people not to talk to the police, and gunshots were still being fired every night.”

The witness wasn’t alone. Other witnesses stated that supposed witnesses were lying to the media about events, that others who had seen the events were “embellishing their stories” in order to convict Wilson.

One witness stated, “You have to understand the mentality of some of these young guys they have nothing to do. When they can latch on the something they embellish it because they want something to do.”

Some 16 witnesses testified that Brown’s hands were up when he was shot, which was factually false according to the autopsy. Another 12 witnesses said that Wilson shot Brown from behind — again, false according to the autopsy. One witness testified that Wilson used both a Taser and a gun — false. Another said that Brown had kneeled before Wilson shot him. When confronted with the fact that the physical evidence made such an account impossible, the witness acknowledged he hadn’t seen the event, and then asked if he could leave the grand jury because he was “uncomfortable.”

In 1964, Kitty Genovese was stabbed to death outside her apartment complex in New York. The entire nation gasped in horror when it learned that supposed witnesses had not called the police.

Fifty years later, the nation completely ignores the fact that an entire community apparently lied, facilitated lying or intimidated witnesses in order to put an innocent man behind bars, because he happened to be white. At least Kitty Genovese’s neighbors didn’t actually murder her. Members of the Ferguson community tried to murder Darren Wilson by putting him on death row. Meanwhile, President Obama and those in the media who played up the original narrative cheered them on.

We all know that Ferguson is about Oppression (TM) also White Supremacy (TM) and the drug-dealing to prison pipeline. That’s why USA Today begins its reporting on the Ferguson riots that surprisingly turned violent with this touching anecdote.

Barry Perkins threw a rock at a line of officers at the Ferguson police station Monday night and thoroughly enjoyed it.

For a moment, Perkins said, he felt powerful.

In the weight of that rock, Perkins delivered the anger and frustration stored up inside from years of harassment from local police officers who he says stop him frequently and search his car. Perkins, who admits to a criminal past that includes dealing drugs and car theft, says that more than once officers have thrown him to the ground.

As police ducked and scrambled to safety, Perkins relished a fleeting sense of victory.

“It feels good,” Perkins, 24, said. “I want to do what they did to me. I want to physically fight the police for all the stuff they have done to me.”

The stuff being arresting him for drug dealing and car theft.

While Yamiche Alcindor does her best to turn this criminal throwing a rock at cops under the cover of the media as a Richard Wright novel, it’s just a reminder that the Ferguson rioters were criminals. Actual criminals.

That’s something I wrote about in the 3 Ferguson myths.

The rioters aren’t outraged, they’re usually bored young men, frustrated and lacking in empathy. Many of them have gang ties or a criminal record stretching back to kindergarten.

They’re the same people who commit crimes in any other non-outraged context.

Damn that white supremacy creating a car-theft to prison pipeline.

The reality is that the best way to have prevented the Ferguson violence would have been to keep criminals like Perkins in prison.

The grand jury’s decision sends a message that black life doesn’t matter and that police can terrorize people, said Perkins, the rock thrower from Hillsdale, Mo.

Sorry, but that’s Perkins, the drug dealer from Hillsdale, Mo.

The “people” police are terrorizing are criminals. That’s how Michael Brown ended up shot.

“It’s over with for the American dream,” Perkins said.

If America can’t let a drug dealer throw rocks at cops, then the American dream is truly over.

Stoking the race riot flames.

A week after grand jurors in Ferguson, Mo., did their civic duty and resisted pressure from President Obama on down to lynch an innocent police officer, Al Sharpton and Ferguson riot leaders gathered at the White House yesterday to make plans to further exacerbate the racial tensions they created in order to cripple the economy and attack civil society.

These domestic subversives refuse to accept the official finding Nov. 24 that no probable cause existed to charge police officer Darren Wilson, who is white, in the Aug. 9 death of Michael Brown, who was black.

The finding of “no true bill” contradicts the Left’s preferred narrative that racist white cops are gunning down innocent blacks with impunity. The failure to indict Wilson, who has since resigned from the Ferguson police department, has driven left-wingers and racial grievance mongers into an exquisite state of apoplexy. They refuse to accept that the evidence considered by the grand jury overwhelmingly, indisputably demonstrated that Brown tried to seize Wilson’s gun in an attempt to do the officer harm. To put it more bluntly, there is proof that in their fateful 90-second encounter Brown tried to kill Wilson, even though the media has consistently identified Wilson as the aggressor.

But facts are rarely obstacles when left-wingers set their minds on something.

At the initial White House meeting of the Michael Brown truther brigade, Obama proceeded from the demonstrably false assumption that a tragic injustice was done to the late teenaged thug. The president said:

As I said last week in the wake of the grand jury decision, I think Ferguson laid bare a problem that is not unique to St. Louis or that area, and is not unique to our time, and that is a simmering distrust that exists between too many police departments and too many communities of color. The sense that in a country where one of our basic principles, perhaps the most important principle, is equality under the law, that too many individuals, particularly young people of color, do not feel as if they are being treated fairly.

To remedy this problem that was far less of a problem before Obama was inaugurated, the president announced he was appointing two left-wing establishment puppets to head a useless task force

to reach out and listen to law enforcement, and community activists and other stakeholders, but is going to report to me specifically in 90 days with concrete recommendations, including best practices for communities where law enforcement and neighborhoods are working well together — how do they create accountability; how do they create transparency; how do they create trust; and how can we at the federal level work with state and local communities to make sure that some of those best practices get institutionalized.

Even though there is no evidence of wrongdoing on the part of Darren Wilson, police officers are going to receive stricter scrutiny. Obama also proposed spending $263 million to put body cameras on cops.

Much of this soothing, focus group-tested Washington-speak sounds fairly innocuous until the guest list for the event is revealed. The same people who instigated the riots and looting in Ferguson were in attendance listening to the Community Organizer in Chief. Among the attendees were: Ashley Yates, Millennial Activists United; Rasheen Aldridge, Young Activists St. Louis; Brittany Packnett, St. Louis educator and activist; T-Dubb-O, St. Louis hip-hop artist; James Hayes, Ohio Students Association; Phillip Agnew, Dream Defenders; and Jose Lopez, Make the Road New York.

These people are the problem, not the solution. They had no business being at the table (but then again, neither does Obama).

Yates went so far as to go on record the month before the grand jury decision as saying violence would be a legitimate response to a non-indictment in the Darren Wilson case.

“If they can’t serve justice in this, the people have every right to go out and express their rage in a manner that is equal to what we have suffered,” Yates said at the time.

“We’re going to take our anger out on the people who have failed us, and if they are prepared to deal with that, then let them have at it,” he said.

New York’s radical mayor Bill de Blasio and Al Sharpton, whose racist, hate-filled rants have gotten Americans killed on more than one occasion, were also in attendance at the White House yesterday.

The day before, Sharpton was in Ferguson pledging more violent protests. “You won the first round, Mr. Prosecutor, but don’t take your gloves off,” Sharpton said. “Justice will come to Ferguson.”

“We’re not gonna stop marching and protesting until we do,” he said.

Sharpton isn’t even the most radical member of the leftist lynch mob screaming for Wilson’s blood.

The most explicit of the fire-breathing racist filth-purveyors in the Brown saga has to be professional white-hater and anti-Semite Louis Farrakhan. Before an audience at Baltimore’s Morgan State University he promised a violent uprising. If the demands of demonstrators who want Wilson dead are not met, “we’ll tear this goddamn country apart!”

Peaceful protests are only in the interest of “white folks,” said Farrakhan, who himself ought to be under constant FBI surveillance. “We going to die anyway,” he said. “Let’s die for something,” the Nation of Islam (NOI) head said to enthusiastic applause.

The parents of teenaged children need to show their kids how to lob Molotov cocktails, said Farrakhan, who is essentially the Islamic version of Obama’s longtime preacher Jeremiah Wright. “Teach your baby how to throw the bottle if they can. Fight,” he said, gesturing as if throwing an incendiary device.

Farrakhan said there is a “law of retaliation” in both the Bible and the Koran that demands the use of deadly force. “A law for retaliation,” he repeated while holding what appeared to be the NOI version of the Koran.

White Americans will only start taking black concerns seriously if blacks begin killing them, he said.

“As long as they [whites] kill us [blacks] and go to Wendy’s and have a burger and go to sleep, they’ll keep killing us,” said Farrakhan, who openly supports Islamic terrorist regimes abroad. “But when we die and they die, then soon we’re going to sit at a table and talk about it! We’re tired! We want some of this earth or we’ll tear this goddamn country up!”

Although President Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder and their confederates in the media set the stage for the Ferguson-related civil unrest, publicly urging restraint and nonviolent protest on the one hand while claiming that police departments are hotbeds of racism that need to be reformed, Farrakhan attacked the two men for their perceived willingness to compromise.

Obama, Holder, and other black leaders show how out of touch they are with young blacks when they embrace what Farrakhan called “compromise.” By urging calm these leaders are betraying blacks and doing the bidding of “white people.”

“Tonight in Ferguson everybody is on edge,” Farrakhan said, implying the terror innocent citizens feel at the prospect of mob violence is a wonderful, useful thing.

In a way his comments echo those made a century earlier by Felix Dzerzhinsky, the founder of the Soviet secret police. “We stand for organized terror — this should be frankly admitted. Terror is an absolute necessity during times of revolution.”

Whatever makes whites nervous furthers the fundamental transformation of the United States, as the Left sees it.

“White folks have never been on edge after they killed a black man. Tonight they’re on edge; so on edge that our president has come out from behind the curtain to ask young black people: ‘Cool it. That’s not our way.’” Farrakhan said. “I heard you, Mr. President; and I asked myself a question: What brings you out of the shadows?”

Anyone who has followed Farrakhan knows he is dangerously mental unstable even on a good day but his lack of sound mind has never prevented him from spreading his gospel of hate or from winning fans on the Left. Anyone who is honest will acknowledge that the American activist Left has a long history of embracing deranged cult leaders from Rev. Jim Jones of the Peoples Temple in Guyana and Charles Manson to Revs. Jeremiah Wright and Al Sharpton.

Insanity is not in short supply on the topic of Michael Brown. Following the announcement of the non-indictment a week ago, Michael Brown’s stepfather urged an angry mob consisting of several hundred protesters to “Burn this bitch down!” This incitement to riot committed by Louis Head was captured on video.

Head, by the way, is a member of the notorious criminal street gang known as the Bloods. This may help to explain why photos exist showing Brown flashing Blood gang signals and why Brown’s family wore red, the Bloods’ color, to his funeral. Head has two felony narcotics convictions. When released on parole, he violated probation and was remanded to state prison.

Strong-arm robbery is apparently a favorite crime in Brown’s family. Both Head and Brown’s mother Lesley McSpadden are themselves being investigated by Ferguson police for the Oct. 18 robbery and assault of three vendors who were selling “Justice for Mike Brown” merchandise. A police report indicated 20 to 30 people rushed the sellers, taking $400 in cash and $1,500 in goods. McSpadden herself reportedly punched one of the vendors, Brown’s grandmother Pearlie Gordon.

The night of the announcement a minimum of 10 businesses and two police cars were destroyed or damaged by fire in Ferguson, and police arrested 61 individuals. Inexplicably on Nov. 24 Democratic Gov. Jay Nixon ordered the Missouri National Guard to stand down. Nixon had mobilized the Guard to deal with potential post-announcement unrest. Perhaps Obama’s people, who believe that blacks are entitled to riot at perceived injustices, got to him.

On the evening of the announcement, a 20-year-old man named Deandre Joshua was killed and set on fire in his car, mere feet from where Brown died months before. Joshua, a friend of Brown’s robbery accomplice Dorian Johnson, may have been a grand jury witness who corroborated Wilson’s story. One theory is he was killed in retaliation for his testimony.

Johnson is the recidivist lowlife who gave birth to the Big Lie that Brown tried to surrender to Wilson and was then gunned down by the police officer in cold blood. Even though Johnson’s false testimony was ultimately demolished by the evidence, scientific and otherwise, it helped to spur the “Hands Up, Don’t Shoot” protest movement.

It could be argued that Johnson is at least as morally culpable of attempting to murder Wilson as Brown was because Johnson tried to frame Wilson. If Wilson had been convicted of murder he could have faced the death penalty for murder. Supporters of Wilson are trying to obtain a least a small measure of justice by having Johnson indicted for perjury but these efforts seem pointless in the current political climate.

Meanwhile, the Left is now trying to inflict as much pain as possible on black Americans in order to drive them to open revolt. The more black businesses are burnt to the ground, the better, in their view. Anyone killed in the process can be celebrated as a martyr for the cause.

Citing the purchasing power of black Americans, activists have been urging blacks and others to boycott retailers. Those involved in the Black Friday protests at big-box stores and sophomoric “die-ins” in major cities across the country four days ago are the same people who show up at Occupy Wall Street protests and demonstrations supporting minimum wage increases. The Left excels at recycling its activists. More actions were scheduled for yesterday, informally dubbed Cyber Monday, supposedly the biggest e-commerce sales day of the year.

Profit-generating businesses that communities need in order to survive are fair game in this effort to stamp out the parts of civil society that the Obama junta hasn’t gotten around to obliterating yet. This sick vengeance directed against people who had nothing to do with the demise of Michael Brown is justified because, as a Sixties radical once wrote, “The issue is never the issue. The issue is always the revolution.” To left-wing sociopaths, innocent people are mere pieces on a chessboard.

Saul Alinsky-inspired groups have been busy agitating this holiday season.

As this writer previously reported, the remnants of the ACORN activist empire have been deeply involved in the unrest in Ferguson. Missourians Organizing for Reform and Empowerment (MORE), a nonprofit group, is the rebranded Missouri branch of the former Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN). President Obama used to work for ACORN, and he represented it in court as a lawyer.

MORE has been active in the protests and in efforts to free jailed demonstrators so they can continue vandalizing businesses, intimidating perceived adversaries, setting fires, throwing projectiles and urine at cops, and engaging in the left’s usual modes of so-called nonviolent protest. MORE believes that protesters should be given a blank check to inflict whatever harm they wish on the community in pursuit of social justice.

We now learn that an ACORN successor group was involved in recent post-grand jury decision unrest in Brooklyn, N.Y. New York Communities for Change (NYCC), another offspring of ACORN, was involved in disruptive demonstrations alongside Al Sharpton’s group, National Action Network. The Working Families Party, founded in New York State in the 1990s by ACORN members, is also involved in Ferguson-related actions.

But there is some good news.

There is evidence that ordinary Americans are beginning to fight back against all this mindless, destructive activism by left-wingers who want to hurt blacks and the American system as a whole.

An Internet video that has gone viral shows angry employees trying to get to work last Wednesday giving activists blocking a highway a major dressing-down.

“I gotta go to Ross right now, homie,” Tyree Landrum said on Interstate 5 near San Diego. “If I don’t get there, I’m gonna get fired. I got six f***ing kids to feed, I gotta get this car off the… Day goes on homie. M*****f***ers get shot every f***ing day. Deal with it the right f***ing way, not like this.”

Landrum appears in the video yelling at a road-blocking protester. “I’m about to lose my f***ing job, and you guys are f***ing out here protesting?”

A woman wearing medical scrubs was shown leaving her vehicle and joining in the yelling. “Arrest them!” the nurse shouted. “We have doctors and nurses that have to save lives here.”

Landrum told reporters he works three jobs. When an activist put a megaphone in his face, Landrum fought back.

“I’m like get this bullhorn out of my face,” he said. “At that point I was confused, frustrated, and completely angry.”

“I’m nobody special,” Landrum said. “Just doing what I thought was right.”

Tyree Landrum’s expletive-laden protest against demonstrators trying to deprive black men like him of a living is eloquent testimony to the desperation that normal Americans feel in the face of the crazy race-hatred and chaos that the Left has unleashed in this country.

If righteous explosions like Landrum’s start breaking out more regularly on the fruited plain, the Left won’t have a chance.

They won’t stop until everyone in America hates them.

After trying and failing to ruin Thanksgiving by protesting the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, the Ferguson protesters have set their sights on disrupting Christmas tree lightings in a confused plot to make absolutely everyone in America hate them.

But don’t confuse the Ferguson Protesters 2.0 screaming “Black Lives Matter” at terrified little kids in a mall or blocking highways so that nurses can’t get to work with the shirtless looters of Ferguson.

The Ferguson Protesters 2.0 are the same old gang of Occupier dropouts; Ivy League hipsters affiliated with radical leftist groups, Trustafarians in plaid panhandling in cities while pecking away at iPads, angry interns at non-profits scoring college credits for protests and revolutionary Communists out of Chevy Chase and East Lake Shore Drive scowling righteously at everyone.

Think of everyone you ever met who wore a Che t-shirt and realize that he’s probably somewhere out there right now screaming “Black lives matter” at a confused family doing some holiday shopping.

They aren’t in Ferguson where there’s no artisanal pizza curated from locally sourced ingredients. Instead they’re in San Francisco, Seattle or Boston screaming that their local mall is just like Ferguson.

Unlike the 1.0 model, the Ferguson Protester 2.0 is more whiny than violent. Don’t expect her to loot any stores while doing her die-in at the mall. She wouldn’t be caught dead shopping there anyway. Don’t expect him to throw anything heavier than a water bottle at you without spraining his wrist.

Ferguson Protester 1.0 was looking for an excuse to smash something. Ferguson Protester 2.0 wants to irritate you into taking a swing at him so he has something to post to his Instagram besides an overworked security guard manhandling him out of a mall while he screams “Power to the people”.

Ferguson 2.0 tries to hide that it’s whiter than Darren Wilson by putting black organizers out front and writing hysterical denunciations of “white people” for not standing behind the few black protesters.

In the 60s it was “Chicks Up Front” (a tactic currently reborn as the “War on Women”); at Ferguson 2.0 it’s “Blacks Up Front” so that the three half-black students in hipster glasses will hide the three dozen white students in hipster glasses standing behind them. The media is eager to cooperate by taking photos from the right angles and of the right protesters (minorities, but not Asian) to make the protests seem like they have something to do with Michael Brown.

They don’t.

Even the Ferguson 1.0 protests had nothing to do with Michael Brown. He was just the excuse for CNN and a whole bunch of Chicago community organizers, Muslim terrorist supporters, citizen journalists with their own Tumblrs and semi-professional looters to turn the whole place into a burning circus. If Michael Brown had died of a drug overdose, of an angry Asian store manager with a shotgun or a bullet fired by a black cop, none of the people wearing shirts with his face on it would care.

Instead they would have a shirt with the face of some other violent thug who is currently lying forgotten and un-merchandised in a morgue because the only truly sad thing about Brown’s death is that he is interchangeable. His family exploited his death to cash in, fighting each other violently over t-shirt sales while leaving him without a headstone. The protesters exploited him to loot stores and burn cars.

The Ferguson 2.0 protests with their disruption of holiday events aren’t there for him. What does breaking up carolers or fighting against giant Snoopy balloons have to do with Brown? What is a red-faced hipster screaming “Black lives matter” at crying little girls in a Seattle mall accomplishing?

Ferguson 2.0 is even less about Michael Brown than 1.0 was. It’s about the same things that Occupy Wall Street and every lefty lecture on racism are really about; contempt for the bourgeoisie, distaste for the middle class by an elite that despises it as shallow and soulless, lacking in depth and meaning.

Ferguson 2.0 is hipster politics.

The furious hipster thinks that he is a deep and spiritual person because he is outraged by Ferguson. But the whole reason he is outraged by the Michael Brown shooting is because he believes that America isn’t. If outrage over Brown were a national consensus, then he would be declaring it a distraction from the issues that truly matter. And those issues would stop mattering if most Americans agreed on them

Wealthy brats throwing a die-in tantrum by lying down in a mall and screaming at middle class shoppers for not caring about the things that they don’t actually want them to care about is the core of the left.

The left wants America to be racist because that justifies its own misguided sense of superiority. It wants it to be poor so that it can campaign against income inequality. It wants America to bomb Muslims so that it has something to protest against. It is trapped in a permanent rebellion against an invisible father who gives them something that their own tolerant parents never could; something to rebel against.

Trying to ruin Thanksgiving and Christmas are spiteful acts that have nothing to do with Ferguson, Michael Brown, police brutality or racism in America. The purpose of shouting down carolers isn’t to assert that “Black lives matter” but that the egos of the shouters do.

The message of Ferguson 2.0 is the same message coming out of Obama Inc. It’s that Americans ought to be miserable because they deserve to be miserable. White privilege is our refusal to acknowledge that we should be unhappy because we don’t deserve happiness. We should feel guilty.

But we don’t.

Ferguson was another of the left’s morality plays teaching us that we are bad people. It was never about Michael Brown just as ObamaCare was never about helping the uninsured. It was about punishing us.

Ferguson 2.0 is taking the left’s tantrum to your morning commute and your holiday outing. It’s the whine of aspiring community organizers whose mission statement is to make you suffer for social justice so that you’ll become as “deep” and “empathetic” as the sorts of people who prevent health care workers from getting to their jobs to make an asinine point about their own moral superiority.

The Ferguson 2.0 protesters won’t stay there. They are the politicians and non-profit executives of tomorrow. They will be in the White House and the EPA and a dozen other alphabet agencies setting policy. Their tantrums are futile but activism builds their resume. It announces that they are radicals eager to work on wrecking the system from within.

Now they’re ruining a Christmas tree lighting. Tomorrow if they aren’t stopped they’ll be running and ruining America.

Rage is not justice.

Rather than denounce the shameful lawlessness demonstrated by many “protesters” demanding “justice” in the wake of the grand jury decision about Officer Darren Wilson, progressives are doubling down by posting rationalizations for the rioting.

Marc Lamont Hill, for example, author of a book on “hip hop pedagogy” who hilariously describes himself as “one of the leading intellectual voices in the country,” tweeted, “The story of ferguson tonight is way bigger than looting or violence. People are angry. People are hurting. They’re killing us with impunity.” This is nonsense. People don’t loot and burn down neighborhood businesses because they are angry and hurting; they do so because trumped-up racial controversies give a criminal element the cover to commit crimes against business owners who had nothing to do with the controversy. Rioters steal big-screen TVs and Nike sneakers because they’re hurting? Ridiculous. They steal them because they are opportunistic thieves.

The hugely popular Gawker site, in an article claiming that “riots are good,” actually argues that “rioting is economically efficient”: “Since state authorities are always and everywhere most concerned about capital and business interests, threatening to impose costs on them via rioting should have a similar impact on police incentives” – by which it means that destructive rioting now supposedly discourages the police from shooting innocent black males later. What it really dissuades economically is businesses starting up or rebuilding in a neighborhood devastated by looters. The costs it imposes are not on the police, but on the victimized local business owners and their employees. But then, celebrity gossip is Gawker’s strong suit, not economics or common sense.

Perhaps the most unintentionally comical defense of rioting is from Mask Magazine, “an online style + living magazine for antagonist youth.” With a title that could have come straight out of the satiric site The Onion, “Hey, Step Back with the Riot Shaming” explains irrationally that “[People of color] are criminals because we are seen as criminals.” [emphasis in original] So, simply being viewed with suspicion causes people to commit crimes? The writer argues (actually, he doesn’t “argue” anything; he just spews a lot of whiny victimhood) that blacks don’t “own” neighborhoods; there are black-owned businesses, he concedes, but in the next breath he claims that “we don’t have shit,” and so apparently it’s all right to loot and burn the black-owned neighborhood businesses that he says blacks don’t have.

Even before the grand jury decision, as early as August right after the shooting of Michael Brown, a site called the New Inquiry put up a piece with the straightforward title, “In Defense of Looting.” It was Marxist, racist agit-prop written by a guy whose bio identifies him as “a member of the punk band Vulture Shit.” Here’s a sample: “Only if you believe that having nice things for free is amoral, if you believe, in short, that the current (white-supremacist, settler-colonialist) regime of property is just, can you believe that looting is amoral in itself.” Here’s another: “Looters are only stealing from the rich owners’ profit margins. Those owners, meanwhile, especially if they own a chain like QuikTrip, steal forty hours every week from thousands of employees who in return get the privilege of not dying for another seven days.” This sounds like easily dismissed, Occupy lunacy, but unfortunately it is representative of the “thinking” of a depressing percentage of young people.

Also in August, the radical Salon.com posted a piece “in defense of black rage,” in which the writer states about rioting, “I refuse to condemn the folks engaged in these acts, because I respect black rage… How dare people preach and condescend to these people and tell them not to loot, not to riot? Yes, those are destructive forms of anger, but frankly I would rather these people take their anger out on property and products rather than on other people.”

But what Salon and other riot apologists refuse to acknowledge is that those products and property don’t exist in a vacuum; they belong to people who had nothing to do with the controversy and yet whose lives are seriously damaged, and in some cases ruined, by the looting and burning of that property.

In addition to these intellectually insupportable attempts to justify rioting, other progressive voices took the opportunity to simply fuel the fire. In apparent response to tweets that the rioters should “go back to Africa,” The Atlantic’s popular Ta-Nahisi Coates, perhaps best-known for his recent article supporting slave reparations, tweeted, “Not how this works. We are here to run you out, not the other way around.” If he’s saying that blacks are here to run whites out of the country, then that’s a rather militantly racist admission.

Another militant, UPenn’s willfully illiterate Associate Professor of Religious Studies and Africana Studies Anthea Butler – whose unhinged response to the George Zimmerman verdict I have previously written about – posted an equally unhinged response this time, an inflammatory article asserting that Michael Brown was a “sacrifice to the god of white supremacy.”

In all fairness, not all the progressive voices attempted to whitewash the rioting or fan the flames. Charles M. Blow of The New York Times, for example, kept a relatively even keel in his Wednesday op-ed:

No one of good character and conscience condones rioting or looting or any destruction of property. Those enterprises aren’t only criminal, they’re fruitless and counterproductive and rob one’s own neighborhood of needed services and facilities and unfairly punish the people who saw fit to follow a dream and an entrepreneurial spirit, and invest in themselves and those communities in the first place.

“But people absolutely have a right to their feelings,” Blow continues, “including anger and frustration.” Of course. But what the riot apologists won’t acknowledge is that violent rage is not justice or justification.

The American left is hitting Stalinesque levels of peak irony. Instead of writing any more books, Orwell would just give up and point people to the New York Times.

Despite its history of pioneering widespread abortions in black communities, Planned Parenthood joined the #BlackLivesMatter Twitter protest Monday afternoon, tweeting, “We are joining #Ferguson organizers and protesters in DC today — standing in solidarity with you! #HandsUpWalkOut #BlackLivesMatter”

It’s not just Planned Parenthood, but apparently a targeted outreach effort by the abortion group to the black community. So we’ve got a group obsessed with killing black babies getting behind #BlackLivesMatter.

As Black Genocide points out, the abortion movement targets black people.

Planned Parenthood is the largest abortion provider in America. 78% of their clinics are in minority communities. Blacks make up 12% of the population, but 35% of the abortions in America. Are we being targeted? Isn’t that genocide?

Black lives matter… unless liberals decide to take them.
