In the recent Taliban terror attack against a school in Peshawar, Pakistan, Islamic terrorists killed more than 130 children. The atrocities include the beheading of children and the Taliban dousing a teacher with gasoline, burning her alive in front of her students who were forced to watch.

The horrifying nature of this latest Taliban atrocity serves as yet another reminder of infanticide and child sacrifice being key ingredients of Islamic terror. The long and grotesque record of Hamas’ and Arafat’s child-killing machines serves as a morbid testament to that phenomenon.

To shed light on why Islamic Jihadists target children, Frontpage is running The Glazov Gang’s special two-part series with Dr. Anna Geifman, the author of Death Orders and one of the world’s leading experts on child-sacrifice by death cultures.

In this special series, Dr. Geifman delivers a profound analysis on Hamas and Terrorists’ Child Sacrifice, explaining why Islamic terrorists — and totalitarians in general — target children. Though her main focus is on Hamas as well as on Soviet terror, her analysis gives us a profound insight into the infrastructure of the Taliban mind and how its savagery against children in a Pakistani school satiates its yearnings.

Dr. Geifman’s research unveils the true nature not only of the Islamic death culture, but of all death cultures, and explains why they sacrifice their enemy’s children — as well as their own.

Lawyers front for Hamas sympathizers on college campuses.

In the immediate aftermath of the bloodbath perpetrated by Palestinian terrorists, the Institute for Palestine Studies showcased a star-studded cast of Palestinian terrorist sympathizers posing as scholars. Without the slightest acknowledgement of the murder of Jewish innocents that hung in the shadow of the event, the panel lamented the “criminalization” of pro-Palestinian activism.

Prior to the seminar, a pleasant older woman initiated a conversation with me. She is from “Palestine” and is in the U.S. visiting her children. One of her sons moved to Lebanon years ago to join the PLO. He’s been “missing” since the Lebanese civil war in 1976. However, she and all her children are “very active” in the Palestinian cause. Her “geography” and “religion” require it.

In an audience packed with pro-Palestinian activists, held at SEIU headquarters in Washington, DC, a panel on the “Legal Assault on Palestinian Rights Activism” began. It was moderated by Rashid Khalidi, an activist of Palestinian descent, whose views are so skewed that the ADL accused him of manipulating history and distorting reality to the point where it is “unrecognizable.” His views on Palestine go well beyond mere support for “oppressed” Palestinians. In past talks, he identified with the PLO so strongly that he repeatedly included himself by stating “we” when discussing the PLO’s agenda. But that didn’t stop Columbia University from making him the head of its Middle East studies division and giving him a professorship teaching classes to unwitting students. Not surprisingly, Khalidi is also good friends with President Barack Obama.

Khalidi started the two hour seminar by asserting that “those who oppose Palestinian rights have a hard time when the story gets out. No one wants to be an advocate of colonization, unequal rights and oppression.” The pro-Palestinian view is exploding in churches, unions, and most of all, on college campuses. According to Khalidi, it is only “ignorance”, “disinformation and misinformation” that leads Americans to hold a “Zionist viewpoint.”

Andrew Dalack, with the Palestine Subcommittee of the National Lawyer’s Guild, provides legal support for pro-Palestinian activists. His most notorious client was Rasmea Odeh, who currently sits in jail awaiting sentencing on her conviction for immigration fraud. Twice, she lied on her application for citizenship to the U.S., falsely claiming she had no criminal record. In fact, she had been imprisoned in Israel on a terrorist conviction for blowing up a grocery store, killing numerous innocent civilians. She also was active with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, though according to her attorney, she joined prior to its designation as a terrorist organization. Dalack, a young, articulate attorney, had an excuse for every aspect of Odeh’s situation. She misunderstood the application’s question, she really wasn’t guilty of the charge despite her conviction, she said the IDF personnel raped and tortured her, and the U.S. judge on her case was a “Zionist”.

When DHS arrested her at her home, she became the “face” of a national movement. Dalak explained that “if you come after one Palestinian, you come after all of us.” To him, the real reason Odeh was indicted was her pro-Palestinian “activism”. “Now”, he stated, “we are all under the government’s magnifying glass.” And, in a theme that would weave itself throughout the seminar, he insisted that prosecutions were “selective” due to political views and intended to intimidate.

Dima Khalidi, (Rashid Khalidi’s daughter) is an attorney who started an organization called “Palestine Solidarity Legal Support” (PSLS). It works closely with the far-left Center for Constitutional Rights, largely funded by George Soros. Her organization provides legal assistance, advocacy, and interventionism for pro-Palestinian activists, especially on college campuses. Their activities, sparked by Cast Lead’s “assault on Gaza” and the growth of the BDS movement, should all be protected by the U.S. Constitution’s First Amendment she explained. Her presentation expressed two themes. First, was that it’s the government’s intent to “silence, crush and criminalize” pro-Palestinian activity. Second, “Zionist groups” pressure the U.S. government to repress activism and “the government follows suit.” She claimed that the NSA and the NYPD visited “coffee shops, barbershops and everywhere a Muslim can be found” in order to collect information. Pro-Palestinian activists are treated “disparately” from others, receiving “selective prosecutions.” She insisted that the government “targets” Palestinians simply for fundraising. She cited the freezing of Islamic charities like the Holy Land Foundation and the prosecution of Sami al-Arian, who sits in jail on a terrorism-related conviction. Khalidi completely omitted that these charities funnel money to Hamas, a State-designated terrorist organization.

Khalidi also complained of activities that “chill speech.” Ironically, she cited as support for her claim, the arrest of eleven students at UC Irvine, who shouted down Israeli Ambassador Michael Oren, preventing him from speaking. The students, warned in advance of the consequences, were arrested for disrupting a public event. To Khalidi, removing the silencers of speech constitutes the “chilling of speech”.

Additionally, she asserted that allegations by “Zionist organizations” that Palestinian groups are funneling money to Hamas are “inciting law enforcement investigations”. Apparently, it’s irrelevant whether or not the allegations are true. She is “heartened” to see how many people are “willing to stick their necks out and not be silenced.”

Yaman Salahi, an attorney who focuses on free speech issues, whined about the flood of civil rights complaints filed against pro-Palestinian activists on campuses, for creating a hostile environment for Jewish students. For example, there were complaints at UC Berkeley when the Muslim Students Association and Students for Justice in Palestine made mock military checkpoints. They held fake rifles to the students’ heads and demanded to know their religion before allowing them to pass. Pretending that the IDF aims assault weapons at every Palestinian passing through, Salahi proclaimed that student civil rights charges are “exaggerated”. “We’re not talking about bona-fide anti-Jewish hate speech. It’s legitimate activism.” What the IDF does to Palestinians in real life is “worse”.

He, and others on the panel repeatedly held up Jewish Voice for Peace, (another Soros-funded organization,) to support the notion that even some Jews agree with their anti-Israel sentiment. He dismissed the argument that their activities disrupt campus life, because, he explained, that is the whole point of campus activism. He also omitted the fact that Saudi Arabia and the Gulf countries largely fund U.S. Middle East Studies programs, giving them a pro-Arab bias. He wailed about calls to Congress demanding professors to provide “balanced” perspectives. Though unequal funding of viewpoints is prohibited by Title VI of the Higher Education Act, the process has been “abused.” Salahi failed to mention that the purpose of Title VI is to provide education that would best serve the national security interests of the U.S. Despite this, almost all of UCLAS’s Middle East professors are pro-Palestinian, as are they are at most universities.

Steven Salaita is a former English professor at Virginia Tech, who claims he was recently “fired” from a tenured position at the University of Illinois for tweets he made in his private capacity. He marveled at the “sophistication” and “intelligence” of pro-Palestinian activism on campuses, but lamented its “criminalization.” According to Salaita, schools want their students to be “automatans” and “unthinking subjects”. When “Zionist activists” are unable to make progress, they rely on punitive modes to prevent the conversation from showing both sides. He claimed that “Zionists” cannot make the case to support Israel. Instead, they merely oppose BDS efforts. He criticized those who point out that Israel is singled out disproportionately in the UN, (where it suffers more resolutions for its human rights violations than all other countries combined). It’s “annoying” and “stupid”, he stated. “Israel singled itself out” when it said that “it’s a light unto the world” and has a “higher standard of morality”. With venom in his voice he declared, “[N]othing makes a Zionist more compassionate than human rights violations in China. That really tugs at their heartstrings.”

Omitting the fact that Hamas uses hospitals, schools and mosques as human shields, Salaita asserted that Israel admits it bombs children, but “blames Hamas” to avoid taking responsibility.

He also suggested that the issue should not be framed as pro-Palestinian activism, but as “another mode of American oppression”. These “Zionist tactics” are part of a pattern around the country, demonstrating American imperialization, oppression, and criminalization. That’s why the pro-Palestinian groups are joining forces with labor unions and other “oppressed” groups.

In fact, Salaita was never made a firm offer for the job at the University of Illinois. He went through the interviews but his name was withheld from the appointment process when the content of his tweets came to light. During the seminar, he conveniently omitted the comments, but here are a few examples: “Zionism: transforming ‘anti-Semitism’ from something horrible to something honorable since 1948”, “Zionists take responsibility: if your dream of an ethnocratic Israel is worth the murder of children, just fucking own it already”, “Will you condemn Hamas? No. Why not? Because Hamas isn’t the one incinerating your children you disingenuous prick.” “If Netenyahu appeared on TV with a necklace made from the teeth from Palestinian children, would anybody be surprised?” “You may be too refined to say it, but I’m not: I hope all the fucking West Bank settlers would go missing!”

Yet, now, Salaita presents himself as the champion of “free speech” and “academic freedom”. Rather than the hate-filled, anti-Semite that he is, he has become a hero of the pro-Palestinian movement and claims that he is being penalized for nothing more than presenting an unpopular political point of view.

The First Amendment prohibits laws that restrict freedom of speech. Salaita and his pals are free to say whatever they want, but they don’t have the “right” to any particular job. The University of Illinois stated that it was concerned he wouldn’t show respect for students of different viewpoints. His tweets prove their point. His claim of “viewpoint discrimination” belies the fact that college campuses abound with pro-Palestinian professors and yet, it is only he who was singled out.

The actions that the panelists are defending under the pretext of “free speech” often constitute, in legal terms, harassment, intimidation and even battery. Yet, the lawyers on this panel thought that campuses should be disrupted, and students should be upset, and that indeed, the college isn’t doing its job if the students “leave with the same viewpoints they came in with.” Not one of them made a distinction between actual intellectual viewpoint diversity provided in college classrooms and intimidation on college campuses, engaged in by “activists” who often include people not connected to the university. They made no distinction between spewing forth hatred and intellectual enlightenment. They omitted at least half the story by failing to acknowledge terrorism coming from Hamas and other Palestinians, when criticizing Israel’s violent actions. Panelists argued that Israel is not defending herself, but is an “apartheid” state, committing genocide on an oppressed people.

It was clear that every single panelist supports Hamas and does not consider it a terrorist organization. The actions of Hamas and others like it constitute “pro-Palestinian activism.” Every time a “charity” is frozen or a Palestinian is convicted on terrorism charges after trial, it is because the Judge or the prosecutor is a “Zionist”. The word Zionist was thrown around as a broad term for anything and everything they disliked. In some cases, like with Salaita, it was clearly code for “Jew” which of course is always evil. If Palestinians commit crimes in the U.S., it is not really a crime, but is the fault of U.S. collaboration with Israel, “Zionist” groups “enciting” government action, or America’s Zionist government itself. Anything short of contemplating that Palestinian sympathizers funding State-designated terrorist organizations, harassing students, shouting derogatory epithets or tweeting anti-“Zionist” hatred is less than virtuous was totally absent from this seminar.

The purpose of Title VI was to ensure that students would learn languages with which they were unfamiliar as well about various regions of the world, in order to secure American national security interests. It has clearly gone awry. This presentation was a skewed, hate-filled and one-sided seminar. But it was only one seminar. What is really frightening is that each panelist represents and works with numerous organizations that preach the same hatred. Under the guise of free speech and human rights these “scholars” and pro-Palestinian lawyers” work to violate both.

Those who serve in the United States military and take an oath to protect our nation are lauded for their service, and rightfully so. Yet, it is highly immoral, if not outright evil and traitorous, for someone who has served in the U.S. military to exploit their military connections whilst taking leadership roles within groups associated with terror. It appears that that is what Muslim convert Wilfredo Amr Ruiz has done and is doing with his work for Islamist groups CAIR and AMANA, and his actions deserve scrutiny, reprimand and repudiation.

Wilfredo Ruiz has served in the U.S. Navy in two capacities, once as a lawyer under the Navy’s Judge Advocate General (JAG), from the years 1993 through 1997, and once as a chaplain under the Navy’s Chaplain Candidate Officer’s Program, which he took on after he had begun religious studies, in 2005, at a seminary in Hartford, Connecticut.

Sometime in 2003, during the time between his two Naval exercises, he made the decision to convert to Islam. He came to the States via Puerto Rico, where he grew up practicing Catholicism.

Not only did he embrace his new religion, but right away he embraced the extremist ideology that is a part of it, leading him to actively pursue a course that is causing death and destruction worldwide. According to corporate filings, in September 2003, Ruiz was the Director of the Puerto Rico office for AMANA.

AMANA is the brainchild of Palestinian activist Sofian Abdelaziz Zakkout. Zakkout is the former Vice President of the now defunct Health Resource Center for Palestine (HRCP), a group associated with Hamas that operated out of Deerfield Beach, Florida.

This past July, as reported in Breitbart, Zakkout posted on his Facebook page the following in Arabic: “Praise be to God, each day we conquer the American Jews like our conquests over the Jews of Israel. Your brother, Sofian”

While Zakkout is the main driving force behind AMANA, Ruiz is not a minor player. Ruiz plays a major role in promoting the group’s Islamist agenda.

Not only did he run the AMANA office in Puerto Rico, but he also opened another AMANA office in Hartford, Connecticut. In fact, the web address attached to the Hartford office was the same one used by the national office, al-amana.org.

In the time Ruiz has been involved with AMANA, the group’s website has included various material vilifying Jews, Christians and homosexuals; the website linked to al-Qaeda financing and recruitment sites; and the website prominently featured an anti-Semitic video of David Duke on it, which brought on a condemnation of AMANA by the Anti-Defamation League (ADL).

In one article previously found on Ruiz’s AMANA website, it is stated, “Every believer [Muslim] should firmly believe that the Jews and Christians are kuffaar [infidels] and enemies of Allaah, His deen, the Prophet Muhammad, and the Believers… The efforts to gain the friendship of the Jews and Christians are useless, as they will never be pleased with the Muslims until the Muslims follow their religion.”

Ruiz additionally is the Executive Director of AMANA’s sister organization, American Muslims for Emergency and Relief (AMER). AMER uses the same Miami physical and mailing addresses as AMANA.

From 2005 till 2007, Ruiz attended the Hartford Seminary, where he worked on his Masters in Islam and Christian-Muslim Relations. The entire time Ruiz was there, the professor of Islam and Christian-Muslim Relations was a fellow Islamist convert named Ingrid Mattson.

When Ruiz started at the seminary, Mattson was the Vice President of the largest Muslim Brotherhood-related group in the United States, the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA). In the following year, 2006, she became President of ISNA.

Mattson founded the Islamic Chaplaincy program at Hartford Seminary. As mentioned, after beginning his education at the seminary, Ruiz worked to become a chaplain for the Navy, specifically a Muslim Chaplain.

According to Ruiz’s bio, he worked as a chaplain at the Immigration Service Processing Centers in Puerto Rico and in Miami. Question: Did Wifredo Amr Ruiz go to seminary and take up chaplaincy specifically to better serve the radical Islamic goals of his bigoted group AMANA.

Today, Ruiz acts as AMANA’s legal advisor. However, he also does legal work for another Islamist organization, CAIR. He is CAIR-Florida’s legal counsel.

CAIR was established as being part of the American Palestine Committee, an umbrella organization acting as a terrorist enterprise run by then-global Hamas leader Mousa Abu Marzook, who was based in the U.S. at the time and who now operates out of Egypt as a spokesman for Hamas. In 2007 and 2008, amidst two federal trials, the U.S. government named CAIR a co-conspirator in the raising of millions of dollars for Hamas.

No doubt, having Ruiz represent both CAIR and AMANA serves to bring the two groups together, helping them to exert more influence. Indeed, in 2012, 2013 and 2014, the groups joined to co-sponsor rallies to speak out about violence in Syria, Egypt and Gaza. The latter event took place in Downtown Miami on July 20, 2014.

The rally was supposed to be in support of Gaza, but it quickly turned into one that was instead pro-Hamas. A smiling Sofian Zakkout is seen on video, as coordinated chants of “Let’s go Hamas” and “We are Hamas” are shouted from the crowd. A reporter was also assaulted by rally goers, targeted for being Jewish (“Zionist”).

CAIR issued a statement saying that it had nothing to do with the rally, but a flyer for the event clearly shows the CAIR-Florida logo next to its AMANA logo counterpart. AMANA’s Zakkout organized the rally, and numerous pictures of the flyer are still found on his Facebook site. These flyers are not unlike the flyers that were made up for the other rallies involving CAIR and AMANA, containing CAIR and AMANA logos.

On November 15, Ruiz participated in the CAIR-South Florida annual banquet held at a hotel in Fort Lauderdale. He stood up on stage with the other CAIR-Florida leaders, including CAIR-South Florida Executive Director Nezar Hamze and CAIR-Tampa Executive Director Hassan Shibly, who has stated that he believes Hezbollah is not a terrorist organization.

Earlier in the day – the same day as the banquet – the government of United Arab Emirates (UAE) named CAIR a terrorist organization, along with violent groups such as al-Qaeda, Boco Haraam and ISIS.

Ruiz brought his family, including his wife and two underage kids, with him to the banquet. Given the radical Islamic nature of the groups sponsoring the event, one can argue that this was child abuse.

Outside the banquet was a peaceful protest, which this author attended and delivered a speech at. Ruiz came outside to intimidate and take photos of all the protesters.

Ruiz was caught on video having words with the protest organizer. He asked the organizer if he had “ever served” [in the military]. He asked the organizer if he knew “who is a patriot,” and then stated emphatically “I’m a Naval officer, brother.”

Question: Can Ruiz operate under the guise of a patriot having served or currently serving in the U.S. military, while at the same time aiding and abetting organizations involved with Islamic terrorism?

In Ruiz’s case, the answer is clear. His involvement with CAIR and AMANA negates any pretense of patriotism, and instead open the door for questions about subversion.

Another tidbit from Mattie Friedman’s Atlantic piece on Israel and the media.

Most consumers of the Israel story don’t understand how the story is manufactured. But Hamas does. Since assuming power in Gaza in 2007, the Islamic Resistance Movement has come to understand that many reporters are committed to a narrative wherein Israelis are oppressors and Palestinians passive victims with reasonable goals, and are uninterested in contradictory information. Recognizing this, certain Hamas spokesmen have taken to confiding to Western journalists, including some I know personally, that the group is in fact a secretly pragmatic outfit with bellicose rhetoric, and journalists—eager to believe the confession, and sometimes unwilling to credit locals with the smarts necessary to deceive them—have taken it as a scoop instead of as spin.

We read these stories all the time. The moderate wing of Hamas, of the Taliban, of Al Qaeda and we wonder how reporters can fall for it.

This is how.

During my time at the AP, we helped Hamas get this point across with a school of reporting that might be classified as “Surprising Signs of Moderation” (a direct precursor to the “Muslim Brotherhood Is Actually Liberal” school that enjoyed a brief vogue in Egypt). In one of my favorite stories, “More Tolerant Hamas” (December 11, 2011), reporters quoted a Hamas spokesman informing readers that the movement’s policy was that “we are not going to dictate anything to anyone,” and another Hamas leader saying the movement had “learned it needs to be more tolerant of others.” Around the same time, I was informed by the bureau’s senior editors that our Palestinian reporter in Gaza couldn’t possibly provide critical coverage of Hamas because doing so would put him in danger.

Sadly the more “tolerant” Hamas apparently couldn’t protect him from Hamas.

The press could be trusted to play its role in the Hamas script, instead of reporting that there was such a script. Hamas strategy did not exist, according to Hamas—or, as reporters would say, was “not the story.” There was no Hamas charter blaming Jews for centuries of perfidy, or calling for their murder; this was not the story. The rockets falling on Israeli cities were quite harmless; they were not the story either.

And this is the central problem with the media. It’s not just that the media is biased against us. That’s a symptom. It’s that it’s corrupt as an institution because rather than reporting, it decides what the story is and tell it its way.

When Hamas’s leaders surveyed their assets before this summer’s round of fighting, they knew that among those assets was the international press. The AP staff in Gaza City would witness a rocket launch right beside their office, endangering reporters and other civilians nearby—and the AP wouldn’t report it, not even in AP articles about Israeli claims that Hamas was launching rockets from residential areas. (This happened.) Hamas fighters would burst into the AP’s Gaza bureau and threaten the staff—and the AP wouldn’t report it. (This also happened.) Cameramen waiting outside Shifa Hospital in Gaza City would film the arrival of civilian casualties and then, at a signal from an official, turn off their cameras when wounded and dead fighters came in, helping Hamas maintain the illusion that only civilians were dying. (This too happened; the information comes from multiple sources with firsthand knowledge of these incidents.)

So much for the tolerant moderate Hamas.

The UAE is more honest about jihad-supporting groups than Obama’s USA.

The United Arab Emirates last week approved a list of 86 “designated terrorist organisations and groups, including the usual suspects – the UAE Muslim Brotherhood, the Islamic State – along with two surprises, both with ties to Hamas: the Muslim American Society and the Council on American-Islamic Relations.

This surprising listing probably stemmed from both groups’ links to the Muslim Brotherhood. UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan doesn’t want to find himself overthrown by Islamic hardliners, and replaced by a Sharia government.

When the story first broke, I wrote at my website Jihad Watch: “If this is authentic, no doubt Hamas-linked CAIR’s Nihad Awad and Ibrahim ‘Honest Ibe’ Hooper are furiously working the phones today, calling on all their contacts in the U.S. government and elsewhere to get this reversed. What fun it would be to be a fly on the wall in Honest Ibe’s sumptuously appointed office today. Will the Obama administration’s Justice Department now denounce the UAE for ‘Islamophobia’?”

Close. It wasn’t Justice, it was State. U.S. State Department spokesman Jeff Rathke said Monday that the Obama Administration was “aware that two U.S.-based groups, the Council on American-Islamic Relations and the Muslim American Society, were included on the list.” Rathke said that the government was “seeking to gain more information on why, and “engaging UAE authorities” in order to do so.

A reporter then asked Rathke: “The State Department works…with CAIR all the time, no? I mean, there’s all sorts of outreach programs between the government and CAIR, right?”

Rathke seemed taken aback by the question: “I don’t know offhand whether we have a particular…I don’t have that information at my fingertips. But at any rate, we’re engaging UAE officials. These are U.S.-based groups so of course our – we are not in the lead then for domestically-based groups generally.”

It’s perfectly clear why CAIR and MAS were listed as terror organizations: because of their links to the Muslim Brotherhood. But the Obama Administration cannot accept that, as it has itself done so much to aid the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt and elsewhere. Hence their inquiries to Emirati officials, which are a fresh indication of the unwholesome influence these groups wield in Washington. But the UAE has the right idea, even if it reverses itself under pressure from State — and we can only hope for a restoration of sanity in Washington that will end these groups’ influence before they do more damage.

CAIR is not a terrorist organization, if one considers violent acts an essential part of what defines terrorism: it doesn’t blow things up or exhort others to do so. It is, however, an Islamic supremacist organization with the same goals as those of al-Qaeda and the Islamic State: the imposition of Islamic law wherever and whenever possible. And while CAIR is quite mainstream these days, this self-styled “civil rights group” was actually named an unindicted co-conspirator in a Hamas terror funding case by the Justice Department. CAIR operatives have repeatedly refused to denounce Hamas and Hizballah as terrorist groups. Several former CAIR officials have been convicted of various crimes related to jihad terror. CAIR’s cofounder and longtime Board chairman (Omar Ahmad), as well as its chief spokesman (Ibrahim Hooper), have made Islamic supremacist statements. Its California chapter distributed a poster telling Muslims not to talk to the FBI. CAIR has opposed every anti-terror measure that has ever been proposed or implemented.

CAIR’s dark side has been well known for years. Senator Richard Durbin (D-IL) said that CAIR is “unusual in its extreme rhetoric and its associations with groups that are suspect.” Another United States Senator said of CAIR that “we know it has ties to terrorism,” and “intimate links with Hamas.” Those were the words of Senator Charles Schumer (D-NY), and they have been proven correct.

Congressman Bill Shuster (R-PA) has said: “Time and again the organization has shown itself to be nothing more than an apologist for groups bent on the destruction of Israel and Islamic domination over the West.”

In June 2007, Federal prosecutors named CAIR as a participant in what the New York Sun called “an alleged criminal conspiracy to support a Palestinian Arab terrorist group, Hamas.” This was when CAIR was first designated an unindicted co-conspirator for its support for the Holy Land Foundation. The federal prosecution document described CAIR as a present or past member of “the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood’s Palestine Committee and/or its organizations.” The Muslim Brotherhood is the parent organization of both Hamas and Al-Qaeda.

CAIR was founded in 1994 by Nihad Awad and Omar Ahmad. Awad had been the President of the Islamic Association of Palestine (IAP), and Ahmad its Public Relations Director. The IAP, which was shut down by the government in 2005 for funding terrorism, was founded in 1981 by a Hamas operative, Mousa Abu Marzook. Marzook currently heads Hamas’s “political bureau,” and is engaged in negotiations with Fatah in hopes of forming a Palestinian unity government. In the course of these negotiations, Hamas reaffirmed its refusal to accept Israel’s right to exist – which is tantamount to vowing its total destruction.

According to a report dated August 14, 2001, from the Immigration and Naturalization Services, the IAP was dedicated to “publishing and distributing HAMAS communiqués printed on IAP letterhead, as well as other written documentation to include the HAMAS charter and glory records, which are tributes to HAMAS’ violent ‘successes.’“ The same report also stated that IAP had received “approximately $490,000 from [Mousa Abu] Marzook during the period in which Marzook held his admitted role as a HAMAS leader.”

Randall Todd (“Ismail”) Royer was CAIR’s communications specialist and civil rights coordinator. He was part of the “Virginia jihad group,” which was indicted on forty-one counts of “conspiracy to train for and participate in a violent jihad overseas.” They were accused of association with Lashkar-e-Taiba, a jihad terrorist group.

Matthew Epstein of the Investigative Project has said that Royer helped recruit the other member of the group to the jihad while he was working for CAIR.

Royer was also among those charged in a separate indictment saying that they conspired to help Al-Qaeda and the Taliban fight against American troops in Afghanistan. And Royer admitted to a grand jury that he had already waged jihad warfare in Bosnia – with and that his commander took orders from Osama bin Laden.

According to Daniel Pipes, “Royer eventually pleaded guilty to lesser firearms-related charges, and the former CAIR staffer was sentenced to twenty years in prison.”

Then there was Ghassan Elashi, the founder of CAIR’s Texas chapter. He was charged in July 2004 with giving Hamas more than 12 million dollars while he was running the Holy Land Foundation. Elashi was convicted in November 2008 of providing material support to terrorism in connection with his role in the HLF. Earlier, Elashi was convicted in July 2004 of illegally shipping computers to two state-sponsors of terrorism, Libya and Syria. Then he was convicted in April 2005 of knowingly doing business with Mousa Abu Marzook, the senior Hamas leader who founded the IAP. Elashi was found guilty of conspiracy, money laundering, and dealing in the property of a designated terrorist.

Bassem Khafagi was CAIR’s community relations director. He pled guilty in September 2003 to lying on his visa application and passing bad checks, and he was deported. Before he worked for CAIR, he was president of the Islamic Assembly of North America (IANA) — which is under investigation by the Justice Department for terrorism-related activities. According to court documents, the IANA was devoted to spreading “radical Islamic ideology, the purpose of which was indoctrination, recruitment of members, and the instigation of acts of violence and terrorism.”

Rabih Haddad was a CAIR fundraiser who was arrested in December 2001 and deported. Again the charges were terror-related.

Maybe all these people had jihadist sentiments either before or after working for CAIR, but were completely moderate while working for it. Maybe. But this is just part of the picture. CAIR is, evidently, a moderate group has several onetime employees arrested on terror charges. It is a moderate group came out of another group that has been identified as the “primary voice in the U.S.” of a terror group. A moderate group that traffics in legal threats and intimidation against those of which it disapproves.

A moderate group?

No, the UAE was right: it’s a terrorist organization.

It should also be pointed out that the large scale airplane hijackings used by Al Qaeda on September 11 were pioneered by the PLO, though Al Qaeda received direct training in the techniques from the Iranian-backed Al Qaeda.

As ABC’s Jake Tapper and a number of others have pointed out, this year Arab Muslim terrorists who operate under the “Palestinian” brand name have killed more Americans than ISIS. (via David Gerstman)

While ISIS beheaded three American hostages, seven Americans have been killed ranging in age from 3-month old Chaya Zissel Braun who was a victim of Car Jihad, hurled out of her stroller and smashed against the pavement, to 16-year-old Naftali Fraenkel, murdered along with two others by Hamas, to today’s murder of four older Rabbis, three of them Americans, including 59-year-old Rabbi Moshe Twersky.

Nobody is suggesting that the United States should start bombing the PLO and Hamas, but it would be nice if it stopped using taxpayer money to fund them, if it broke off relations with them and stopped interfering in Israeli counterterrorism operations.

Writing for The Times of Israel, senior staff writer Avi Issacharoff criticized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for scapegoating Abbas as the cause for the recent disturbances in Israel and for failing to point the finger at the real culprits, Hamas. He posits that Netanyahu, in a quest to avoid negotiations with Israel’s “peace partners,” has painted Abbas as a purveyor of violence and thus, an obstacle to peace. He also notes that as a result of the disturbances, “an entire country is in a panic.”

I submit however, that the only people who are “in a panic” are Issacharoff and leftists of like-mind who detest Netanyahu, seek his demise and will stop at nothing to disparage him. Israel has in the past witnessed and endured far worse violence and each time weathered the storm calmly and resolutely. The people of Israel in the instant mini-crisis are neither panic-stricken nor hysterical though many on the left would like to have us think that. What better way to produce an “intifada” than by talking about it incessantly in the hope of producing a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Issacharoff’s analysis is fundamentally flawed on a number of levels. First, it is Abbas and his Palestinian Authority who are primarily responsible for the uptick in violence. No doubt that Hamas shares some responsibility but it is the PA’s continued campaign of incitement, where Jews are compared to the descendants of apes and pigs and Palestinians are continuously urged in TV broadcasts to confront the “barbaric monkeys” and “wretched pigs” aka Jews, that has led to the current state of affairs.

Abbas’s inflammatory rhetoric adds fuel to the fire. Responsible leaders don’t incite their populace to attack the citizens of another state, and that is precisely what Abbas has done, over and over again. Responsible leaders don’t pay condolence calls to the families of assassins and refer to them as martyrs who will ascend to heaven, and that is precisely what Abbas has done. Responsible leaders don’t name squares and streets after people, who in normal societies, would be locked up in institutions for the criminally insane, but Abbas’s Palestinian Authority has done so repeatedly.

Issacharoff refers to Abbas’s recent vitriolic, blood-curdling rhetoric, including the glorification of Yehudah Glick’s attempted murder as “stupid.” “Stupid” is a term that should be applied to one who texts while driving or chain smokes. Stupid is not a term that one normally associates with visceral anti-Semitism and incitement to murder. When the leader of the Palestinians extolls the virtues of the murderer of Jews, that is incitement to murder and anti-Semitism, plain and simple. To call it anything else is “stupid” and delusional. I wonder if Issacharoff would refer to Goebbels’s propaganda pieces in which he depicts Jews as rats as “stupid.”

Second, contrary to Issacharoff’s assertions, it is Abbas who remains the impediment to negotiations, not Netanyahu. In 2009, Netanyahu agreed to an unprecedented 10-month settlement freeze in the hopes of spurring on the anemic “peace talks.” Abbas waited nine months before engaging Netanyahu ensuring that there would be virtually no time for any meaningful substantive negotiations.

In the latest round of negotiations, Abbas remained the stumbling block, refusing to budge on the so-called Right of Return issue, refusing to acknowledge that the Jews have some rights here too and in general, maintaining the same tired rejectionist posture of his mentor-in-chief, Yassir Arafat, who in turn adopted his views from the Nazi collaborator, Haj Amin el-Husseini.

Let us call a spade a spade and be honest with ourselves. Abbas is an autocratic ruler whose term of office was supposed to have ended six years ago. He is therefore a leader with absolutely zero legitimacy. He is also a Holocaust denier, who, in his doctoral thesis, denied the existence of gas chambers, called the deaths of 6,000,000 Jews “a fantastic lie” and somewhat paradoxically blamed the Holocaust on the evil Zionists, who incited the Germans to hate Jews. In other words, the Jews are responsible for the Holocaust, which, incidentally, never happened. These repugnant views place Abbas in the same category as former “Grand Wizard” David Duke and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

The sad truth is that the Palestinians, whether Hamas, Islamic Jihad, the Army of Islam or Abbas’s Palestinian Authority, share the same pernicious goals, which is the total eradication and annihilation of the State of Israel. The only difference between the former three groups and the latter is that Abbas and his cronies on the PA payroll wear ties whereas the other groups have adopted the fashion style of their brethren in the Islamic Republic. The sooner the left understands this concept and stops treating Abbas as though he was some toddler, dismissing his deleterious statements as the product of “stupidity” rather than something much more malevolent, the closer we’ll come to a sustainable peace but not before then.

Rooted in faith or rooted in Hamas?

On the night of Saturday, November 8, the San Francisco Bay Area chapter of CAIR held its 20th Anniversary Banquet at the Santa Clara Convention Center. It was fitting that two out of three of the event’s featured speakers have been associated with terrorism, as 20 years ago CAIR was founded as a main component of a Palestinian terrorist enterprise inside the United States.

CAIR or the Council on American-Islamic Relations has been in existence for 20 years — since June 1994 — when it opened up its national headquarters in Washington, D.C. The group was established as being a part of the American Palestine Committee, an umbrella organization run by then-global Hamas leader Mousa Abu Marzook, who was based in the U.S. at the time and who now operates out of Egypt as a spokesman for Hamas.

The other members of the umbrella included a Hamas financing wing, Holy Land Foundation (HLF); a Hamas propaganda wing, Islamic Association for Palestine (IAP); and a Hamas command center, United Association for Studies and Research (UASR), which was then led by Ahmed Yousef, who later left the U.S. for Gaza to become Senior Political Adviser to Hamas leader Ismail Haniya.

The founding and current National Executive Director of CAIR is Nihad Awad. Just prior to co-founding CAIR, Awad held the position of Public Relations Director for the IAP. As the propaganda wing of Hamas, the IAP had been involved in distributing Hamas terrorist videos and publishing vehemently anti-Jewish and anti-Israel materials, including the Hamas charter in different languages.

Only months before the creation of CAIR, Awad announced his support for Hamas.

Under Awad’s leadership, CAIR has had a number of representatives cited for terrorist-related activity. CAIR officials have been convicted and imprisoned for terror-related crimes and/or deported from the United States. As well, during Awad’s tenure, CAIR has been cited itself. In 2007 and 2008, amidst two federal trials, the U.S. government named the group a co-conspirator in the raising of millions of dollars for Hamas. The individuals who had been indicted for the trials (CAIR was named an “unindicted co-conspirator”) were found guilty of all charges.

This past Saturday night, Awad was not at his home base in D.C. Instead, he was speaking at a banquet for CAIR’s San Francisco Bay Area (SFBA) chapter. San Francisco was the home of CAIR’s first regional U.S. chapter, established not long after CAIR National was established, hence the California group celebrating its 20th Anniversary.

A second featured speaker at the Saturday banquet was Siraj Wahhaj, the imam of the At-Taqwa Mosque, located in the Bed-Stuy section of Brooklyn, New York. Wahhaj frequently speaks at CAIR sponsored events. Indeed, Wahhaj previously sat on CAIR’s National Board of Advisors.

Wahhaj has been associated with terrorism far beyond his involvement with CAIR.

In 1995, much like CAIR’s trials, Wahhaj was named an “unindicted co-conspirator” for the federal trial prosecuting those involved in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. Wahhaj had been linked to the bombmaker of the attack, Clement Rodney Hampton-El, and during the trial he was a character witness for the spiritual leader of the attack — the “Blind Sheikh” Omar Abdel Rahman — whom Wahhaj has openly praised.

Wahhaj has recently taken up the cause of speaking at functions for and doing fundraising for rabid anti-Semite Louis Farrakhan.

Also speaking at the banquet was Nihad Awad’s San Francisco counterpart, Executive Director of CAIR-SFBA Zahra Billoo. Billoo has made a number of extremist statements in the past. She has written that “one amazing reason to get married” is to “raise fighters” (children) to attack the nation of Israel. She wrote that to celebrate Columbus Day is “the same as having Jews celebrate Hitler and the Holocaust.” She refers to U.S. troops as “scum.”

Billoo proudly announced on her blog that her younger brother, Ahmed, was quoted in an article in the Los Angeles Jewish Journal — an article that discusses in length about how her brother supports suicide bombings. Billoo wrote that she, herself, had thoughts of committing suicide, after she viewed a pro-Israel advertisement on a San Francisco train.

On her Twitter account, Billoo boasted that her CAIR event was sold out, and the pictures taken at it do show a full house. This is a frightening indication that many Muslims in America appear to support and approve of CAIR’s agenda. Certainly given the amount of information available about the speakers at the event, one would be hard pressed to believe that the attendees weren’t at least somewhat aware of CAIR’s terror-related background.

While CAIR has attempted to present itself as a Muslim civil rights organization, the individuals involved with CAIR reveal that the group is cynically exploiting this designation.

The title of CAIR’s weekend event was ‘Rooted in Faith,’ but one has to question what type of faith would have radical luminaries who are associated with terrorism representing it.

Beila Rabinowitz, Director of Militant Islam Monitor, contributed to this report.

Gilad Goldman, in his 50s, was driving by the Haganah Train Station when he noticed an ongoing terror attack on Monday afternoon – and jumped into action. “I got out of my car and saw him assaulting and stabbing the youth.”

Speaking to Ynet before he was evacuated to Ichilov Medical Center in Tel Aviv, Goldman recounted the horrifying incident. “I punched him in the face. He dropped the knife and began fleeing.” He was lightly wounded during the struggle with the terrorist.

Goldman’s friend was also involved in thwarting the scope of the attack. “We began to chase after him, screaming ‘terrorist!’ We saw that he was getting away quickly, so I went back to help treat the soldier and direct traffic so emergency personnel could arrive quicker.”

The soldier was stabbed after a struggle with a Palestinian who attempted to grab his weapon at the Haganah Train Station in Tel Aviv. He was evacuated in critical condition to Sheva Hospital in Tel HaShomer. The suspect is 18-year-old Nur al-Din Abu Khashiyeh, a resident of Nablus illegally staying in Israel.

A picture of the suspect holding a Hamas flag surfaced on social media.

One of the photos released he looks holding a sign “We have a passion for death like our enemies desire in life.”

A pity that Israel didn’t help him fulfill his passion.

A new report turns the victim into the villain.

In a predictable development, Amnesty International (AI) has accused Israel of committing war crimes during its 50-day engagement with Hamas this past summer. The report, “Families Under the Rubble: Israeli Attacks on Unihabited Homes,” claims the Israeli military demonstrated a “callous indifference” with regard to civilians. It further insists “the onus is on Israel to provide information concerning the attacks and their intended targets.”

AI gives the game away early in the report. First, in a 49-page report detailing eight specific cases of alleged “war crimes” and violations of international law committed by Israel, there is but a single paragraph acknowledging that “Hamas and other Palestinian armed groups fired thousands of indiscriminate rockets and mortar rounds into civilian areas of Israel.” A second paragraph notes that AI “has documented and is continuing to document serious violations of international humanitarian law, including unlawful killings and injures to civilians and destruction of civilian property, both by Israel and by and Palestinian armed groups,” but it is clear from this report that taking Israel to task first and foremost is the group’s priority.

AI’s primary indictment against Israel centers around the feckless notion of “disproportionate” response. It is the pernicious nonsense that posits higher rates of casualties and property damage in Gaza than Israel is de facto evidence of human rights violations. Conspicuously missing from that argument is the reality that Hamas and other Palestinian terrorist groups bear the lion’s share of the blame for the damage and casualties, because they routinely use their own civilians as human shields. And ostensibly civilian locations such as mosques and schools are routinely used as weapons depots.

That reality was driven home during the conflict, when the United Nations found terrorist rockets hidden in at least three of its own schools—one of which sat adjacent to other schools used to accommodate displaced Palestinians. Moreover, Washington Post reporter William Booth observed a “group of men” moving small rockets into a mosque, even as he further noted that Shifa Hospital in Gaza City had “become a de facto headquarters for Hamas leaders, who can be seen in the hallways and offices.”

Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) explained the dual motivation for such genuine callousness. “Hamas chooses to use these protected areas for military purposes in order to shield itself from IDF strikes,” they said at the time. “And to draw international condemnation of Israel if the IDF is forced to respond.”

AI’s take on terrorist inclinations? In a section of the report entitled “Precautions and ‘Human Shields,’” they explain that warring parties have “an obligation to protect civilians and civilian objects under their control against the effects of an attack by the adversary,” and the those adversaries must, to the extent feasible, “avoid locating military objectives within or near densely populated areas.” They use a Red Cross definition of feasibility, indicating that “no one can be required to do the impossible,” and that a party to the conflict “cannot be expected to arrange its armed forces and installations in such a way as to make them conspicuous to the benefit of the adversary.”

That’s a remarkable statement–one that seems to imply that AI is actually endorsing the use of human shields as a means of making military targets “less feasible” to attack. AI seemingly doubles down on this notion, insisting, “the fact that Palestinian fighters are located within civilian areas does not in any way negate Israel’s obligations to those citizens…”

Palestinian obligations to their own citizens, or the reality that they do in fact use them for human shields? Not even mentioned. Furthermore, AI dismisses as insufficient Israel’s unprecedented effort to minimize civilian casualties, despite the reality the IDF drops pamphlets, makes phone calls, etc. to warn Palestinian civilians (and by extension the terrorists) of impending attacks. Few armies on earth go to such lengths to protect the civilian population of their sworn enemy.

Israeli officials were quick to notice the blatant discrepancy. “The report does not mention the word terror in relation to Hamas or other armed Palestinian groups, nor mention tunnels built by Hamas to infiltrate Israel and perpetrate terror attacks,” read a statement from Israel’s embassy in London, where AI’s report was released. “By ignoring the nature of the enemy Israel faced in Gaza — a terror group recognized as such by the European Union, the United States, and others — Amnesty’s report fails to contribute to the important discussion needed to solve the conflict. Instead Amnesty serves as a propaganda tool for Hamas and other terror groups.”

At the end of the report, AI issues a series of recommendations for both sides and other states. The only recommendation for the Palestinians is that they should accept the International Criminal Court’s jurisdiction over crimes committed since 2002, and accede to the “Rome Statute” of that Court, which has established four international crimes, defined as genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes and crimes of aggression.

The list of recommendations for Israel includes that one, as well as granting AI access to Gaza, revising their military doctrines and tactics—and providing reparations to all victims of “serious violations of international law, including victims whose homes and properties were unlawfully destroyed or damaged during Operation Protective Edge.”

There is tremendous irony attached to that last recommendation. It is Israel, bowing to pressure from the international community following Israel’s and Egypt’s closure of its borders with Gaza, who supplied the territory with most of the cement used to build a series of terror tunnels with exits located in the Jewish State — terror tunnels built by Palestinian children, costing at least 160 of them their lives, according to Hamas officials. Eighteen of the tunnels discovered by Israel used more than 800,000 tons of concrete, an amount more than enough to construct eight skyscrapers as big as Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest. Egypt discovered and destroyed additional tunnels under its border with the Gaza strip.

One thousand, three hundred and seventy of them.

AI’s recommendations to other states include similar legal suggestions, yet one other stands out: they believe all other nations should suspend shipping arms, munitions, weapons and military equipment to Israel until it is held accountable for its previous humanitarian violations, and mechanisms are put it placed to prevent future ones. Again no mention whatsoever of ongoing Iranian efforts to supply Hamas with weapons, or the Syrian-made rockets that have boosted Hamas’s missile capability from a range of three or four miles, to approximately 70 miles.

This extended range puts the entire nation of Israel at risk of missile attack.

Prof. Gerald Steinberg, president of NGO Monitor, an organization that monitors non-governmental organizations “claiming to advance human rights and humanitarian agendas,” adds some much needed perspective to AI’s claims. “Amnesty’s claims had no validity when they were first made, without evidence, during the fighting, and they have no more credibility now, despite the façade of ‘research’ and ‘investigations,’” he declared. “For many years, we have shown that Amnesty’s ‘reports’ on Israel lack credibility and are based on double standards that reflect a radical ideological agenda under the façade of universal human rights.”

It is far worse than that. AI suffers from a staggering level of self-inflicted myopia. Iran is in the middle of its latest round of human rights violations, including the execution of 560 citizens with dubious convictions over the past nine months. Several of those victims were minors. Acid attacks against women are also on the upswing, likely in response to an initiative allowing private citizens to enforce “morality” laws. ISIS has cut one of modern history’s bloodthirstiest swaths, torturing, raping and executing innocent men, women and children, and conducting a series of high-profile beheadings. Boko Haram has kidnapped more young girls, many of whom have been “married” or sold into slavery. And genocide is being perpetrated against Middle East Christians.

Yet AI chooses to focus on the efforts of Israel to defend itself against Hamas, a terror group whose charter of existence calls for Israel’s destruction. By contrast, Hamas gets a virtual free pass on that reality, as well as its determination to use its fellow Palestinians as cannon fodder whenever they deem it necessary. And we’re all supposed to wait for “continuing” documentation of humanitarian rights violations that may—or may not–get around to detailing the depredations of Hamas.

At a later date, of course. Until that time, the libelous assault on Israel will continue—even as the cavalcade of atrocities committed in the name of Islam are conspicuously ignored by the ideologically bankrupt organization known as Amnesty International.

"Israel went to extraordinary lengths to limit collateral damage and civilian casualties."

During Israel’s campaign against Hamas, the State Department repeatedly blasted Israel’s actions. John Kerry was caught on the microphone mocking Israel.

Seemingly oblivious to the Fox News camera in front of him and Fox News mic pinned on his lapel, America’s top diplomat harshly criticized the on-going Israeli operation in Gaza following news of Israeli army casualties and Palestinian civilian deaths.

“It’s a helluva pinpoint operation,” he told a top aide sarcastically over his cellphone. “It’s a helluva pinpoint operation.”

But the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, despite not being a war hero like Kerry, appears to have a different point of view.

Yesterday, Gen. Martin Dempsey, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, gave a lecture at the Carnegie Council for Ethics. He was asked by an audience member to comment on IDF’s ethics during Operation protective Edge, and here was his answer:

“I actually do think that Israel went to extraordinary lengths to limit collateral damage and civilian casualties. In fact, about 3 months ago we sent, we asked [IDF Chief of Staff] Benny [Gantz] if we could send a lessons learned team – one of the things we do better than anybody I think is learn – and we sent a team of senior officers and non-commissioned officers over to work with the IDF to get the lessons from that particular operation in Gaza.”

“To include the measures they took to prevent civilian casualties and what they did with tunneling, because Hamas had become very nearly a subterranean society. And so, that caused the IDF some significant challenges. But they did some extraordinary things to try to limit civilian casualties to include calling out, making it known that they were going to destroy a particular structure. Even developed some techniques, they call it roof knocking, to have something knock on the roof, they would display leaflets to warn citizens and population to move away from where these tunnels.”

“But look in this kind of conflict, where you are held to a standard that your enemy is not held to, you’re going to be criticized for civilian casualties. So I think if Benny were sitting here right now he would say to you we did everything we could and now we’ve learned from that mission and we think there are some other things we could do in the future and we will do those.”

“The IDF is not interested in creating civilian casualties they’re interested in stopping the shooting of rockets and missiles, out of the Gaza Strip and in to Israel, and its an incredibly difficult environment, and I can say to you with confidence that I think that … they acted responsible.”

Unlike administration officials, generals aren’t expect to praise Israel. They’re often critical of Israel. And Dempsey isn’t just praising Israel, he’s offering a professional opinion while mentioning that the US is trying to learn how to similarly limit civilian casualties.

Not the sort of thing you try to do if Israel is a bad example.

In reality, Israel is considered a canary in a coal mine when it comes to fighting terrorism, developing tactics and technology that the US then goes on to use. That’s something radical leftists frequently harp on, while more liberal critics conveniently ignore.

Dempsey sounds a lot like the UK’s Col. Kemp. I suspect that similar opinions would come from sober generals in different countries, including those that don’t like Israel. His comments however are politically inconvenient for an administration whose only tune is “Blame Israel”.

Okay then. Good to know.

For those keeping track of the State Department’s moral arc…

1. Throwing Molotov cocktails at Jews = just fine

2. Jews moving into a neighborhood that Muslims consider their exclusive property = proof that Israel doesn’t want peace

The Obama administration insisted Monday that a Palestinian who was killed by the IDF while attempting to throw a Molotov cocktail at Israeli civilians is not a terrorist.

The Palestinian, a teenager with U.S. citizenship, was shot on Friday and buried this weekend wearing a green Hamas headband. The Obama administration said in a statement on Friday that it “expresses its deepest condolences to the family.”

At a State Department briefing today, Associated Press reporter Matt Lee asked spokesman Jen Psaki whether it is appropriate to offer deepest condolences to the family of someone killed while attempting to carry out an attack on civilians.

“There are reports … that [the Palestinian teenager] was throwing Molotov cocktails at cars on a highway, and I’m wondering, if that is the case, would you still have been so speedy in putting out a statement and offering your condolences to the family?” asked Lee. “The argument that is being made by some in Israel is that this kid was essentially a terrorist, and you don’t agree with that, I assume.”

“Correct, we don’t,” replied Psaki.

I’m sure he was just a technocrat throwing Molotov cocktails at Jews. That’s how Psaki and Kerry justified the PLO-Hamas unity government. Then there was that pesky “traffic incident” where a Hamas terrorist killed a three month old baby and a young woman.

But that’s just a distraction from the real issue. Jews living in Jerusalem.

While Israelis hail scientists, their "peace partners" hail terrorists.

As last week’s light rail car attack claims yet another victim – a 22-year-old Ecuadorian woman who sustained a mortal head wound – Palestinians are busy hailing the miscreant responsible for the cowardly attack that also claimed the life of a 3-month-old infant, as a hero and martyr. This abominable terrorist attack as well as the depraved Palestinian reaction to it comes on the heels of yet another monstrous Palestinian outrage involving the kidnapping-murder of three Israeli teens in the Judea district. There too, the perpetrators, confirmed to be Hamas operatives, were hailed as heroes by both Hamas and Mahmoud Abbas’s “moderate” government and accorded the highest religious honors. No doubt that their families will now receive hefty stipends from the Palestinian Authority, courtesy of the American and European taxpayer.

While Israelis laud their scientists, their artists, their doctors and multiple Nobel Prize nominees and recipients, Palestinians have a long and ignominious tradition of extolling the virtues of those who commit mass murder, slaughter innocents on buses and hijack commercial airliners. Public squares and streets are named after them and their children are taught to emulate them. The contrast between Israeli and Palestinian society could not be starker. One society celebrates and encourages progress and life while the other has morphed itself into a death cult, steeped in perverted traits that are an anathema to Western civilization.

Consider the respective reactions of the mothers of sons responsible for carrying out the Ottawa parliament building and Jerusalem light rail attacks. Susan Bibeau, the mother of Michael Zehaf-Bibeau, stated the following of her son’s heinous actions, “As a person and mother I am horrified by the actions of my son, I am sickened by it. I will never understand what drives a person to such senseless violence…” That is an appropriate emotion for random violence directed against the innocent. The mother of the Jerusalem terrorist by contrast, was pictured holding a glorified photograph of her son as if he had accomplished some great feat. She displays no shame over the fact that her son is a child murderer. Instead, she excuses his conduct by claiming that it was a mere traffic accident. Her abhorrent and unnatural behavior is encouraged, aided and abetted by the Palestinian Authority and its culture of death.

When three Israeli teens were kidnapped this past summer, Palestinians encouraged store owners in the vicinity to destroy CCTV footage to thwart apprehension of the perpetrators. By contrast, when a Palestinian teen was kidnapped, Israeli police swiftly secured CCTV footage and apprehended the culprits. The troubling aspect however, is that the Obama administration either willfully ignores the societal and moral disparity or just doesn’t get it and likely never will.

With respect to Palestinian society, I thought I had seen it all. I thought that their depravity and deviancy could stoop no lower. I was wrong. As exposed by Dan Smith from the blog Israellycool, Palestinians seem to revel in the blood of Jews killed not just in Israel but in far off places like Nepal.

On October 24, a tourist bus travelling from Kathmandu to the Langtang area in Nepal overturned and fell into a steep embankment killing at least 10 including 2 Israelis. A Palestinian affiliated Facebook group with a rather large following quickly posted the story and celebrated the deaths of the “Zionist” tourists. The post, which featured gruesome pictures of dead and injured tourists in twisted and grotesque postures quickly garnered over 10,000 “likes” and generated 1,000 shares and a similar number of comments. As Smith points out, the comments are beyond hideous and include the following:

Oh God, exterminate them and kill them vaporized and left them none

To hell

O limit the Zionist Jews and kill them, vaporize them and don’t leave any of them

To hell and good riddance, expand their dead Allah

Allah Akbar

Alhamdulillah

God burn them

The posts are universally racist and boorish. There are no expressions of sympathy for innocent travelers, no expressions of sadness for the loss of innocent lives and no expressions of empathy for the tormented families. To the Palestinians, all that matters is that two Jews were killed. Yippee! Time to pass out the sweets.

That’s our State Department. Or Saudi Arabia’s State Department. I’m never sure. But it is staying focused on what counts; warning Israel not to “escalate tensions” by fighting back.

The United States on Wednesday condemned the terrorist attack at a Jerusalem Light Rail station.

“We express our deepest condolences to the family of the baby, reportedly an American citizen, who was killed in this despicable attack,” State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki said in a statement quoted by AFP.

“We urge all sides to maintain calm and avoid escalating tensions in the wake of this incident,” she added.

All sides. The side of the killers and the side of the victims.

I don’t doubt that Hamas will listen to the sage advice of Jen Psaki and stop killing people. And if it doesn’t, Psaki can always be counted on to condemn Israeli action against Hamas.

The baby’s grandfather said, “They waited for this girl for a few years … they just returned from the Western Wall, the first time that the child was at the Western Wall, brought her back toward the Temple Mount, and unfortunately, the hatred of the Arabs … no pity or anything. this holy soul and pure girl did not do anything wrong, was murdered for no reason.”

Halperin said that “the car began speeding, hit the stroller, the child flew through the air and fell with her head on the pavement. Bled very badly in the brain. The doctors at the hospital did their best and I want to thank them. Her parents are traumatized, they are shaken completely.”

This ceasefire that Obama pushed for is working great.

What’s a mere $414 million? That’s not even half a billion? And we’re in an administration that uses billion dollar bills as toilet paper.

Countries from around the world have pledged $5.4 billion to help rebuild the war-torn Gaza Strip

And that should do it until the next war in two years which will be partially paid for by all that money which Hamas diverts to rockets.

Norwegian Foreign Minister Boerge Brende announced the total Sunday at the close of a 30-nation donor conference in Cairo.

“The people of Gaza can not be held hostage to negotiations that may or may not produce the desired outcome. Letting Gaza fester while leaving the parties to their own devices is the surest way of setting ourselves up for another round of war a year or two down the road,” he said.

Actually putting more money into Hamastan is the surest way of rerunning this war a year or two down the road. But international diplomacy means never learning from history.

Among the biggest donors was Qatar, the Persian Gulf state with natural gas riches, which pledged $1 billion.

Qatar is also a prolific state sponsor of terror for groups such as ISIS and Hamas.

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry announced an immediate American donation of $212 million, which is in addition to $202 million in humanitarian aid the U.S. had already committed.

Wasn’t that generous of him?

United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said the world community has “clearly recognized the massive needs” in Gaza.

But he said this “must be the last Gaza reconstruction conference.” He said the “cycle of building and destroying must end. Enough is enough.”

Sure. Put more money into Hamastan and then insist that it’s going to be the last time.

According to Obama Inc, Vox and the usual media suspects, Hamas is nothing like ISIS despite both of them being Islamic terrorist groups that are cousins through the Muslim Brotherhood.

Aside from all the expected things that they have in common, both the Islamic Resistance (Hamas) and the Islamic State (ISIS) have one more thing in common.

They like to hide behind little kids.

IDPs who had fled from Ninewa Plains and Makhmour during ISIL advance on 6 August told UNAMI/OHCHR that male teenage family members around 15 years and above had been forcibly recruited by ISIL. Some of these boys who had subsequently managed to escape reported to their families that they were forced to form the front line to shield ISIL fighters during fighting, and that they had been forced to donate blood for treating injured ISIL fighters.

That comes from a UN report. You know the guys who were helping act as Hamas’ human shields. It also means that the stories of civilian casualties in US air strikes tend to be more complicated because according to the report, ISIS forced its human shields to dress like them precisely to create child casualties to undermine the US effort against it using the usual treason lobby suspects.

It’s like Hamas and ISIS are operating from the same playbook.

Originally published by the Jerusalem Post.

Dr. Richard Horton, the editor of the English medical journal The Lancet, was not transformed by his visit to Israel last week.

Horton came to Israel last week the guest of Rambam Medical Center in a bid to dig himself out of the hole he dug himself into. On August 19 Horton published a 1,600-word letter criminalizing Israel. In it, Israel was accused of committing war crimes and crimes against humanity. The authors called for a boycott of Israel, including Israeli academia. Since its publication on Lancet’s website, the letter has garnered 20,000 signatures.

The letter made no mention of the fact that the war this summer was initiated by Hamas through its illegal missile, mortar and rocket offensive against Israeli population centers. The esteemed medical professionals who wrote the letter failed to mention that Hamas’s operational headquarters was located in Shifa hospital in Gaza. And of course, they ignored the underlying fact that Hamas’s entire campaign against Israel was a crime against humanity.

Immediately following its publication, Prof. Gerald Steinberg, the head of NGO Monitor, exposed that the letter’s principal authors are frothing-at-the-mouth anti-Semites. Dr. Paola Manduca and Dr. Swee Ang disseminated a video entitled, CNN, Goldman Sachs & the Zio Matrix. It was produced by the former Grand Wizard of the Ku Klux Klan David Duke.

As Britain’s Telegraph reported, in disseminating the video, Ang exhorted her audience to understand that the Jewish threat outlined in the video is a threat to humanity. In her words, it “is not about Palestine – it is about all of us!” For her part, as the Telegraph reported, Manduca has accused Israel of responsibility for the Boston Marathon bombing. And she disseminated an article comparing Israel to a “strangler fig,” which as the Telegraph explained, “grows around other trees and takes their sunlight, often resulting in the deaths of the original trees.”

Steinberg cataloged Horton’s long record of publishing anti-Israel slanders under the guise of a scientific research. Horton responded with indignation to the initial criticisms of his decision to publish the defamatory letter. He told the Telegraph that the anti-Semitic views of letter authors were “utterly irrelevant.” He called criticism of his decision to publish the letter, “a smear campaign.”

Horton then pledged not to retract the letter – which is still posted on Lancet’s website – “even if [criticism of the authors] was found to be substantiated.”

Yet as the outrage mounted against him, and the stench of the Jew hatred of his colleagues grew stronger, Horton began to feel the heat. So after refusing to publish a letter from Israeli doctors from Rambam rejecting the libelous attacks against Israel, Horton accepted Rambam’s invitation to come to Israel last week and learn firsthand how none of his allegations were true.

At the end of his three-day visit, Horton gave a lecture at Rambam where he condemned the Cossack-style Jew hatred of his colleagues Ang and Manduca. But despite his seeming contrition, Horton did not disavow their letter. He did not agree to remove the slander from The Lancet’s website.

Horton’s selective contrition was an expression of contempt for Israel, for his Israeli hosts and for their Herculean efforts over three days to demonstrate to him that Israel is good, not evil. Yet, instead of calling him on his obnoxious behavior, the heads of Rambam and other critics embraced him and praised his transformation.

As Dr. Anthony Luder, the director of pediatrics at Ziv Medical Center in Safed, wrote in a letter to The Jerusalem Post published Monday, “In what looks like an academic version of the Stockholm Syndrome, my esteemed colleagues at Rambam Medical Center have only succeeded in throwing sand in the face of the medical community by providing legitimization for a hateful hypocrite and terrible scientist.”

Horton’s behavior is very much in keeping with what has become standard operating procedure throughout much of Europe today. First, attack Israel. If you get called on it, issue a clarification or a clearing-of-the-throat apology that does not contain any retraction of your falsehoods. For your willingness to rhetorically temper your mendacious allegations, you can expect to be forgiven by Israel and those who care about truth in your country.

CONSIDER THE new Swedish government’s behavior.

During his inaugural speech last Friday, the new Social Democrat Swedish prime minister, Stefen Lofven, announced that his government will recognize the non-existent State of Palestine.

Israel rightly responded angrily to his statement, noting that the reason no peace accord has been signed between Israel and the Palestinians is because the Palestinians have scuttled and prevented negotiations for the past five years.

In the face of Israel’s angry rebuke of Lofven’s statement, the Swedish Embassy in Tel Aviv issued a clarification saying that Sweden supports a negotiated settlement and values its ties with Israel. Ambassador Carl Magnus Nesser told Army Radio that the remark was simply made to jump-start peace talks.

Lofven’s statement was not notable because he revealed himself as a fan of Palestinian terrorists who refuse to recognize Israel’s right to exist. That’s been Sweden’s policy for decades.

What was notable about Lofven’s statement is that he made it in his inaugural address to the Swedish Parliament.

What this means is that in Sweden, supporting the Palestinians against Israel is not a foreign policy issue. It is a domestic policy issue.

As Benjamin Weinthal documented in Monday’s Post, Swedish Social Democrat politicians with no connection to foreign policy have long records of vilifying Israel and condemning Jews that insist on supporting the Jewish state. Lofven’s government reflects this anti-Israel, and frankly anti-Semitic trend.

Lofven appointed Turkish-born Green Party politician Mehmet Kaplan to serve as urban planning and environment minister in his government. Three years ago Kaplan participated in the illegal, pro-Hamas Turkish flotilla to Gaza as a passenger aboard the Mavi Marmara terrorist ship. In a rally over the summer, he used jihadist language and called for the “liberation of Jerusalem,” and the “liberation of Palestine.” Kaplan has likened Swedish jihadists who travel to Iraq and Syria to fight for Islamic State to Swedish freedom fighters who fought against the Soviets in Finland during World War II.

Other leading politicians in the Social Democratic Party have traveled to Israel and participated in riots against IDF forces.

In other words, Swedish politicians have identified anti-Israel activism as a potent tool for garnering domestic support. This is why Lofven spent so much more time discussing it in his inaugural address than he spent discussing the killing fields in Syria and Iraq, for instance.

But just as Horton wasn’t willing to be lumped together with his Ku Klux Klan-supporting comrades, so the Swedes aren’t willing to admit that their hostility towards Israel owes to domestic considerations that have nothing to do with what Israel does.

Horton’s phony contrition and the Swedish embassy’s “clarification” flow from the same source. And they tell us something about what is happening in Europe and how we need to deal with Europe as it transforms itself before our eyes.

Europe is abandoning the ideals of the Enlightenment, and embracing authoritarianism and irrationality.

But it isn’t willing to admit what it is doing. As a consequence, it is possible to harken to those ideals to shame Europeans for their irrational bigotry and so slow the process down.

Horton will no doubt revert to open defamation of Israel in due time. The Swedish government will similarly attack us in due course.

But forcing them to slow down is important.

Whether or not Europe’s downward spiral is unstoppable is irrelevant for Israel because what is clear enough is that if Europe decides to abandon its current path, it won’t be because of anything Israel does.

Facing this situation, Israel must be guided by two goals as it confronts Europe. It needs to stop caring about what Europeans think of it, and it needs to reduce as much as possible its exposure to the European market.

On the latter issue, unless something fundamental changes, it is undeniable that at some point in the next 10 to 15 years, Europe will join the Arab League’s boycott of Israel. Israel needs time to develop alternative markets for its exports.

On the former issue, Europe’s main non-economic weapon against Israel today is the fact that the Israeli public and particularly Israel’s elites still care what Europe thinks of us. Israelis need time to understand that European hatred for Israel has nothing whatsoever to do with anything Israel does.

Another day, another smug liberal dismissal that there’s any connection between one violent Islamic terrorist group and another.

This time in the Forward, a radical pro-terrorist and anti-Israel paper read only by a handful of aging lefties while sipping their stale broth, Jay Michaelson launched an attack on Pamela Geller.

One of Geller’s new ads states that “Hamas is ISIS, Hamas is Al-Qaeda, Hamas is Boko Haram, Hamas is CAIR in America.” Factually, this is quite false. In fact, while Hamas has nominally supported ISIS in Syria — thus damaging ties with its historic sponsor, Iran — the Islamic State is a Salafist jihadist/fundamentalist movement that regards Hamas as impure and the Israel/Palestinian conflict as largely irrelevant. In fact, Hamas’s best friend today is Qatar, which is in the coalition opposing the Islamic State. Unsurprisingly, Geller is just ignorant here.

Sure it would take some kind of right-wing Zionist to believe that ISIS is just like Hamas. Let’s hear from the right-wing Zionist Palestinian Authority.

A leading Fatah party member has compared Hamas’s methods of executing and brutalizing its political opponents in Gaza to the gruesome executions carried out by the “Islamic State” terrorist group, or ISIS.

In an interview with the Palestinian Authority’s official TV station, Fatah Central Committee member Tawfiq Tirawi expressed his anger over a string of executions and shootings of Fatah members in Gaza during Operation Protective Edge, and said the “unity deal” between Hamas and the Fatah-run Palestinian Authority was “a mistake.”

Jay Michaelson says that it would be “ignorant” to believe that Qatar could ever ally with an Islamic terror group (other than Hamas).

Qatar was also a major backer of ISIS. It’s been criticized for its support of Islamic terrorist groups by such New York Zionists as the governments of Saudi Arabia and the UAE. You can read about it in such notorious Zionist outlets as The Independent and The Guardian.

The 9/11 Commission found that Qatar had ties to the architect of September 11. This was reported by such right wing Jewish outlets as ABC News.

Let’s get to the rest of Jay Michaelson’s ignorant drivel which he jotted down after a 5 minute phone convo with his CAIR contact.

Hamas didn’t just support ISIS in Syria. It supported the original Al Qaeda in Iraq. In fact the two groups are cousins.

Al Qaeda is run by a guy who came out of a wing of the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood. Essentially the Muslim Brotherhood now runs Al Qaeda. Hamas is an arm of the Muslim Brotherhood in Gaza.

The Muslim Brotherhood is Salafist, Jihadist and fundamentalist. The MB views itself as Salafist. Plenty of Salafists don’t like it, but as a brief rundown of the news would show, Salafists regularly don’t like each other, reject each other and kill each other.

Would Michaelson really care to argue that Hamas is not Jihadist or fundamentalist?

Let’s take a second example. “Jew-hatred: It’s in the Quran,” an AFDI poster blares. And indeed, the Quran has many violent passages, including some about Jews — most notoriously 5:60, which says that “some” Jews have been transformed into “monkeys and pigs.”… But have you read the Quran, cover to cover?… Or, for that matter, 2:47, which exhorts “Children of Israel! Call to mind the favor which I bestowed upon you, and that I preferred you to all other nations”?

If Jay Michaelson had actually read the Koran cover to cover, instead of relying on talking points, he would have noticed that shortly after 2:47, the Koran once again refers to Jews as apes. 2.75 tells Muslims that Jews distorted scripture and that they won’t believe in Allah. 2.88 curses the Jews as infidels. 2.90 says that Jews have earned “wrath upon wrath”.

The whole point of the narrative is that Allah rejected the Jews and that Mohammed is his final prophet and the Jews and Christians are the enemies of Muslims. That’s not some extremist Salafist belief. It’s Islam.

That’s what happens when you read something “cover to cover” instead of picking up a few talking points and doing the usual smug media liberal routine.

The Palestinian Authority’s chief negotiator and ranking member, Saeb Erekat, is once again stirring controversy and fabricating history. Taking cue from his boss, Mahmoud Abbas, who just days prior accused Israel of committing “genocide, “ Erekat absurdly charged Israel with killing 12,000 Gazans during Operation Defensive Edge and, just as ludicrous, alleged that 96% of all casualties sustained were civilians. Where he derives his facts he does not say, but who really cares about facts when Israel is the target of the invective? Just days later, Erekat compounded the vitriolic slander by comparing Prime Minister Netanyahu to ISIS and then went on to charge the Jewish State with burning mosques and churches. Of course, Erekat offers not a scintilla of evidence to back the spurious charge, but no matter: His professed Palestinian pedigree (he’s actually from Jordan by way of Arabia) gives him a free pass to fabricate.

Of course, this isn’t the first time that Erekat engaged in mendacious historical revisionism. In April 2002 Israeli forces embarked upon a counter-insurgency campaign in the city of Jenin – dubbed the suicide capital of the West Bank – to rout terror nests that had taken root there and, in an effort to minimize civilian casualties, utilized less lethal methods, incurring greater casualties as a result. When the battle was over, some 52 Palestinians were killed, the vast majority of them PLO and Hamas combatants. That did not stop the deceitful Erekat from claiming that a “massacre” had taken place in which upwards of 500 people – all civilians of course – were killed. Even after a UN commission of inquiry determined that there was in fact no massacre, Erekat refused to issue a retraction, stubbornly clinging to his defamatory fiction.

Not to be outdone, Erekat’s PLO colleague and terrorist apologist Hanan Ashrawi accused Prime Minister Netanyahu of invoking slander, hate language and obfuscation in his recent address in the UN General Assembly. Really, Hanan? Do you want to go down that road? In July, when confronted with pointed questions by a CNN reporter concerning Hamas’s use of UN schools to store rockets, a stumped Ashrawi laughed awkwardly and then deflected, whitewashing blatant Hamas violations of the laws of war.

In March 2013, Ashrawi’s Western funded NGO published a text, in Arabic of course, that repeated the medieval anti-Semitic blood libel that Jews use the blood of Christian children to bake Passover matzah. When challenged, Ashrawi initially attacked the blogger who exposed the canard. She eventually issued an apology for the piece but only after being confronted with the possible loss of Western funding. In other words, her actions were dictated by pecuniary considerations rather than genuine remorse for propagating the most ancient of blood libels.

Erekat’s and Ashrawi’s lies don’t fall far from the poisonous tree. Their boss, ostensibly a moderate, completed his dissertation on Holocaust denial. In the 1980s, Abbas showed us what “Palestinian scholarship” was capable of when he published a malevolent work which, among other gems, posited that less than 1,000,000 Jews were killed by the Nazis and that gas chambers were never employed to murder Jews. Neither the EU nor the Obama administration has taken Abbas to task for spewing such venomous hate, preferring to sweep such inconvenient indiscretions under the rug.

On September 26, in a speech before the General Assembly, Abbas, let loose with an anti-Semitic screed that would have made his Hitler-admiring icon, Haj Amin el-Husseini, proud. Chief among his lies was that Israel was waging a “war of genocide” against the “Palestinian people.” That slander proved too much to bear even for the normally hostile State Department, prompting a stern rebuke from its spokeswoman, Jen Psaki.

The notion that a Palestinian leader — any Palestinian leader — can make a statement these days without lying through his teeth is laughable. Hamas does not have a monopoly on making outrageous statements and accusations. Its partner in crime, the Palestinian Authority routinely spews forth the vilest of lies designed to vilify Israel and its obscenities often veer into blatant anti-Semitism.

In his address to the General Assembly, Prime Minister Netanyahu highlighted several important matters concerning regional and international threats, including Iran’s proliferation activities, Hezbollah, ISIS and Hamas. But of all the threats Israel faces, perhaps none is more insidious than that posed by Mahmoud Abbas’s Palestinian Authority. Whereas ISIS, Iran, Hezbollah and Hamas wear their colors on their sleeves and mince no words when discussing their desire to eradicate Israel (and the West), the PA is more circumspect, preferring to cloud its nefarious desires with platitudes and vague but clearly menacing statements.

In point of fact, the only discernable difference between Hamas and the PA is that members of the latter wear ties. What is crystal clear and beyond dispute is that as long as the PA continues its campaign of vilification, incitement and lies, peace will be as elusive as ever.

The administration throws the Israeli prime minister under the bus.

In yet another tragic indication of Obama administration’s ideological obstinance, State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki indicated that Israel and the United States are not on the same page regarding the scope of Islamic terror.

The rift centers around Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech at the U.N. on Monday, during which he insisted that terrorist groups such as ISIS, Hamas, the Iranian regime, Hezbollah, al-Qaeda and Boko Haram share the same vision. “Some are radical Sunnis, some are radical Shi’ites,” he explained.

Some want to restore a pre-medieval caliphate from the 7th century. Others want to trigger the apocalyptic return of an imam from the 9th century. They operate in different lands, they target different victims and they even kill each other in their quest for supremacy. But they all share a fanatic ideology. They all seek to create ever expanding enclaves of militant Islam where there is no freedom and no tolerance, where women are treated as chattel, Christians are decimated, and minorities are subjugated, sometimes given the stark choice: convert or die. For them, anyone can be an infidel, including fellow Muslims.

Such a no-holds-barred assessment of the threat was too much for the White House. When Psaki was asked if they agreed with Netanyahu’s argument, her answer was distressingly clear. “We would not agree with that characterization, no,” she replied. Pressed on Netanyahu’s contention that ISIS and Hamas are cut from the same cloth, Psaki once again balked. She conceded that both groups are U.S.-designated terrorist organizations, but insisted that ISIS “poses a different threat to Western interests and to the United States. And that’s just a fact.”

She continued. “We don’t believe that Prime Minister Netanyahu or anyone else from Israel is suggesting that the United States launch a military campaign against Hamas, so we certainly – they are both designated terrorist organizations under the United States designations, but certainly we see differences in terms of the threat and otherwise,” she added.

Little wonder. In a press briefing last June, Psaki was engaged in an Orwellian effort to defend the administration’s support for the newly formed Fatah-Hamas unity government. Psaki admitted that Hamas was responsible for launching attacks against Israel, but insisted the U.S. would continue supporting the new entity because “we made a decision as the United States Government that our assistance to the Palestinian Authority is important to the United States.” Psaki also made it clear that such a schizophrenic stance was possible because PLO President Mahmoud Abbas “demanded that all the Palestinian factions remain committed to the ceasefire agreement that was signed in Cairo in 2012, and we expect the Palestinian Authority will do everything in its power to prevent attacks into Gaza – from Gaza into Israel.” One sentence later a bit of belated reality intruded. “But we acknowledge the reality that Hamas currently controls Gaza,” she said.

Netanyahu emphasized the absurdity of such myopia. “As Hamas’s charter makes clear, Hamas’s immediate goal is to destroy Israel,” he contended.

But Hamas has a broader objective. They also want a caliphate. Hamas shares the global ambitions of its fellow militant Islamists. That’s why its supporters wildly cheered in the streets of Gaza as thousands of Americans were murdered on 9/11. And that’s why its leaders condemned the United States for killing Osama Bin Laden, whom they praised as a holy warrior. So when it comes to their ultimate goals, Hamas is ISIS and ISIS is Hamas.

No doubt the administration was equally uncomfortable with Netanyahu’s comparison of militant Islam with Nazism because it once again revealed the wider scope of the threat. But his analogy was spot on. “The Nazis believed in a master race,” he said. “The militant Islamists believe in a master faith.”

Netanyahu also stated who he believed would be in the best position to be the master of the master faith. “For 35 years, Iran has relentlessly pursued the global mission which was set forth by its founding ruler, Ayatollah Khomeini, in these words: We will export our revolution to the entire world. until the cry ‘There is no God but Allah’ will echo throughout the world over… And ever since, the regime’s brutal enforcers, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, have done exactly that,” he explained.

He warned the world not to be fooled by “Iran’s manipulative charm offensive. It’s designed for one purpose, and for one purpose only: To lift the sanctions and remove the obstacles to Iran’s path to the bomb.”

Unfortunately, it’s a charm offensive that appears to be working. Despite a report earlier this month by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) noting that Iran had failed to provide necessary information on agreed-upon work plans related to the possible military dimension of their nuclear program, a participant in the negotiations told the New York Times there is a”sense of desperation about coming up with ways to break the logjams, on the nuclear talks and the larger relationship.” The source also warned that “if we don’t figure this out in the next few months, it is not clear the opportunity is going to come again.” Toward that end, P5+1 (China, France, Germany, Russia, the United Kingdom, and the United States) negotiators are no longer demanding that Iran dismantle most of its 19,000 centrifuges. Instead they can simply disconnect the pipes that connect them.

Those would be the 19,000 centrifuges Iran has constructed over two decades, including the last 11 years of fruitless negotiations aimed at stopping the process.

Unlike the Obama administration and their equally impotent partners, Netanyahu knows exactly such fruitlessness will lead. “Once Iran produces atomic bombs, all the charm and all the smiles will suddenly disappear,” he explains. “They’ll just vanish. It’s then that the ayatollahs will show their true face and unleash their aggressive fanaticism on the entire world. There is only one responsible course of action to address this threat: Iran’s nuclear military capabilities must be fully dismantled. Make no mistake – ISIS must be defeated. But to defeat ISIS and leave Iran as a threshold nuclear power is to win the battle and lose the war.”

What war? Psaki completely rejected Netanyahu’s characterization of Iran, insisting the Obama administration’s aim is to bring the world’s foremost state sponsor of terrorism into the international community, providing they can demonstrate their nuclear program is peaceful. “I can assure anyone that an agreement reached would not be based on a charm offensive or how that impacts us, but on the facts and the details,” she said. “And we’re not going to agree to a comprehensive agreement that doesn’t meet our standards and meet our threshold.”

As noted above, a threshold reduced to negotiations about plumbing is a threshold evolving decidedly in Iran’s favor.

The Obama administration also took pains to distance itself from Netanyahu’s characterization of the UN Human Rights Council as a “terrorist rights council” and an “oxymoron.” Yet Netanyahu’s description was again right on the mark. “We live in a world steeped in tyranny and terror, where gays are hanged from cranes in Tehran, political prisoners are executed in Gaza, young girls are abducted en masse in Nigeria and hundreds of thousands are butchered in Syria, Libya and Iraq,” he stated. “Yet nearly half, nearly half of the UN Human Rights Council’s resolutions focusing on a single country have been directed against Israel, the one true democracy in the Middle East.”

Once again Psaki reflected the Obama administration’s determination to deny uncomfortable reality. “We have obviously voiced concerns when we have them about actions that are taken, but no, we would certainly not agree with that characterization,” she stated. “We don’t see the need for heated rhetoric. But obviously there are times when we certainly agree, and we’ve expressed concerns in the past as well about the same organization and how they operate.”

Thus the Obama administration remains determined to maintain the rift between America and the Jewish State. Psaki’s latest statements are little more than an extension of Obama’s own speech at the U.N. last week. The president went off-script from printed remarks made available to reporters and claimed there were “too many Israelis ready to abandon the hard work of peace,” without even mentioning the Palestinian’s role in the latest conflict. Even more remarkably, he attempt to find moral equivalence between “rockets fired at innocent Israelis” and “Palestinian children taken from us in Gaza.” Netanyahu seemingly addressed this slander in the opening paragraph of his speech when he stated that one of the reasons he came to speak was “to expose the brazen lies spoken from this very podium against my country and against the brave soldiers who defend it.”

Unfortunately for Netanyahu and Americans as well, brazen lying is part of this administration’s DNA. That has been made clearer than ever following the president’s “60 Minutes” interview during which he sought to blame anyone but himself for the “unanticipated” rise of ISIS. The blowback has been precipitous. A Government Accountability Institute (GAI) report reveals Obama has missed nearly 58 percent of his daily intel briefs during his second term; the Washington Free Beacon reports he was repeatedly warned about the consequences of prematurely withdrawing from Iraq; and the Daily Mail cites an “administration insider” who says Obama had accurate intel about ISIS prior to the 2012 election.

Expect this pattern of revelations to continue, as it becomes ever more apparent that Obama’s penchant for throwing people under the bus will elicit return fire. In the meantime, the administration’s fantasy or winning a war from the air, while awaiting Arab “boots on the ground” that will never come, or arrive too late, produces tangibly deadly results. ISIS is closing in on the Kurdish city of Kobani near the Turkish border, they are only a mile from Baghdad, and they have reportedly rekindled an alliance with Jabhat al-Nusra, Syria’s largest al-Qaeda group.

Yet it is Benjamin Netanyahu’s assessment of militant Islam’s scope that is the problem? Breathtaking.
