I would attribute this move more to Saudi and UAE influence than Cameron’s courage (apparently Qatar isn’t running UK foreign policy just yet) but it’s still miles from where we are.

While the UK proposes to crack down on the Brotherhood, nearly every American politician has taken the violent hate and terrorist group to its bosom.

After 9/11, US law enforcement began drilling into the Brotherhood. And then it all went away and the MB’s front groups because the public face of Islam at every level and the civil rights project of every liberal. Now how are those liberals who spent the last few years sneering at Michele Bachmann, David Horowitz and Frank Gaffney for mentioning that the Brotherhood is a threat going to explain a British crackdown?

A senior source close to the inquiry said its report – compiled but not yet published – had identified “an incredibly complex web” of up to 60 organisations in Britain, including charities, think tanks and even television channels, with links to the Muslim Brotherhood, which will all now come under scrutiny.

The inquiry, aided by the security services, has also investigated its network abroad. One expert said that the Brotherhood was now operating from three major bases – London, Istanbul and Doha, the capital of Qatar

The Government crackdown will stop short of outlawing the Muslim Brotherhood but action is expected to include:
Þ Investigations into charities that are effectively “fronts” for the Brotherhood;

Þ Inquiries into funding of the organisation and links to jihadi groups abroad;

Þ Banning clerics linked to the group from countries such as Qatar and Turkey from coming to Britain for rallies and conferences.

The source said: “We cannot ban the organisation, but that was never the intention of the review. We can go after single individuals, not for terrorist-related activity, but through the Al Capone method of law-enforcement. We cannot get them for terrorism but I bet you they don’t pay their taxes.

“One of the big things is piling pressure on the charitable missions. Until now it has been very hard to monitor all the groups linked to the Muslim Brotherhood.”

Which is to say that the Brotherhood’s groups will start being treated like the EDL and while that doesn’t sound like much, don’t underestimate the problems that come when a nanny state dislikes you and actively looks for ways to nail you for something.

If nothing else it will make the UK an inconvenient base of operations for the Brotherhood, which is the real goal here.

Cameron isn’t interested in destroying the Brotherhood. He just wants it to move an to an easier locale in Europe where they will become someone else’s problem. Considering Qatar’s growing influence in France, the answer may be quite nearby.

Egypt gave Anne Patterson the boot over her support for the Muslim Brotherhood

Egypt gave Anne Patterson the boot over her support for the Muslim Brotherhood and intimidation of Egyptian Christians.

Youm 7, a popular newspaper in Egypt (the sixth most accessed website in the nation according to Alexa), conducted a survey this morning asking its readers “Do you support the call to kick U.S. Ambassador Anne Patterson out because she interfered in Egyptian affairs?”

A whopping 87.93% said yes, 10.54% said no, and 1.53% were indifferent.

El Fagr reported that, during their most recent phone conversation, Patterson demanded that Egypt’s recently appointed Supreme Commander of the Egyptian Armed Forces, General Abdul Fatah al-Sisi, release all Muslim Brotherhood members currently being held for questioning.

Patterson called on Egyptians not to protest — including by meeting with the Coptic Pope and asking him specifically to urge the nation’s Christian minority not to oppose the Brotherhood, even though Christians were naturally the most to suffer under Morsi.

So Obama promoted her and she’s still continuing her Jihad on behalf of the Brotherhood.

The desire of some elements in the Middle East to “eliminate Islamists entirely from the political scene” was complicating the fight against violent extremists, a senior State Department official said on Monday, citing the tendency of some to “conflate Islamists with terrorists.”

The remarks were made in Doha by Assistant Secretary for the Near East Anne Patterson, whose tenure as U.S. ambassador to Egypt was marred by allegations that she was too cozy with the Islamist Muslim Brotherhood before the military ousted it last July.

“Some people in this region conflate Islamists with terrorists and desire to eliminate the Islamists entirely from the political scene,” Patterson said. “Our difficult fight against violent extremists is made more complicated by this viewpoint. The need for compromise is underscored by political experience in the Arab world as well as our own.”

To make matters worse, Patterson was saying this in Qatar, a key Jihadist ally. But she is spelling out the Obama position that the only way to fight terrorism is by allowing the terrorists to take over and set up their Islamic states.

The Muslim Brotherhood is “a very heterogeneous group, largely secular."

There’s apparently a long list of things that DNI Clapper lied to Congress about, but as Ryan Mauro at the Clarion Project reveals, Brotherhood contacts are also on the list.

The story of the deception began when the Director of National Intelligence James Clapper testified to Congress on February 10, 2011 saying that the Muslim Brotherhood is “a very heterogeneous group, largely secular, which has eschewed violence and has described Al-Qaeda as a perversion of Islam.”

In the same hearing, Clapper was asked by Rep. Jeff Miller (R-FL) about the administration’s relationship with the Muslim Brotherhood. He answered, “There have been outreaches to the Muslim community in general, but I guess we’re not aware of any direct outreach to these particular organizations. That is, if you’re speaking domestically.”

Was Clapper telling the truth?

Just four months later, on June 12, 2012, a 90-minute “Roundtable Discussion” took place at National Intelligence’s headquarters in McLean, Virginia. At the meeting, Clapper met in person with a representative of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA). Also present were National Counter-Terrorism Center Director Matthew Olson and Alexander Joel, ODNI Civil Liberties Protection Officer.

So that would be a firm “no”. And it’s not like ODNI wasn’t aware of the issues.

Declassified emails obtained by the Clarion Project show that staff inside the ODNI expressed concern about ISNA, even suggesting interagency intelligence-gathering on the organization. The author(s) of the internal emails also wanted intelligence gathering on the Council on American-Islamic Relations, another group labeled by the Justice Department as an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation trial. Like ISNA, the Justice Department listed CAIR as a U.S. Muslim Brotherhood entity.

The heavily redacted ODNI emails, written sometime between January 2009 and August 2012, read:

“I’m also interested if our team could work with the FBI and DHS on any Muslim Brotherhood collection and analysis opportunities such as looking at the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) ongoing relationships with MB int’l leadership and enterprises.”

On June 10, 2010 an email was written by someone within the ODNI’s National Counter-Terrorism Center referencing internal discussions about engagement with Muslim Brotherhood-linked groups. It reads, “We have a large MB [Muslim Brotherhood] presence on the West Coast, and there has been some discussion here about engagement—both state and federal—with folks who are also MB members.”

This wasn’t a case where a Federal agency was clueless. Clapper and co. knew exactly what they were getting into and lied about it.

"Why did you put together a charm campaign for the Muslim Brotherhood,"

Hillary Clinton is carrying on her victory lap for an election she has yet to win by receiving awards from anyone and everyone. If there’s an award out there for something, whether it’s AIDS, Malaria, the oceans or national defense, from the Queen of Spain or the President of Georgia, she already has it.

Along her award route, Clinton stopped by the American Jewish Congress, defending Obama’s plan to let Iran go nuclear and urged Israel to appease terrorists.

Not everyone was a fan.

AJC vice president Herb London told the Washington Free Beacon that Clinton was a “dissimulator” whose remarks were full of “fabrications.”

“As Mark Twain said, ‘There are lies, damn lies, and statistics.’ I would add in Hillary Clinton’s comments,” said London, who is also chairman of the AJC national governing council and a senior fellow at the conservative Manhattan Institute.

London said the speech ignored critical gaps in the Obama administration’s sanctions policy.

“She does not mention the fact that 22 nations were given special dispensation so they did not have to abide by sanctions,” London said. “And while there was unquestionably pressure put on Iran, there were a lot of illegal dealings and a lot of nations that were violating the sanctions regimen. She didn’t mention that at all.”

London also questioned Clinton’s vow that the United States would “never waver in our support for Israel.”

“This is exactly what [the AJC audience] wanted to hear,” London said. “I wanted to raise my hand and say, well then why did you put together a charm campaign for the Muslim Brotherhood, the same Muslim Brotherhood that when Morsi was in power in Egypt wanted to abrogate the peace treaty with Israel?”

He added that Clinton failed to address several fundamental topics, including the anti-Israel Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement and whether she would authorize military action against Iran.

“Hillary Clinton said all options are on the table [regarding Iran],” he said. “I’m so tired of this trite phrase. What does that mean? Are you willing to exercise the military option? When? Where? Under what circumstance?”

While London said he sent Clinton bullet points on the BDS campaign before her speech, “she did not say one word about BDS” at the event.

AJC’s president Jack Rosen and a Clinton spokesperson did not respond to requests for comment.

What difference does it make anyway?

The Egyptian authorities have stated that the wave of Muslim terror attacks are linked to the Muslim Brotherhood and the Brotherhood’s official Twitter account certainly sounds like it as it celebrates the murder of three Korean tourists.

The Korean tour bus that was bombed originated from Egypt and was coming from a Greek Orthodox monastery but headed into Israel. The Twitter link goes to a Brotherhood article ridiculing attempts by the Egyptian government to encourage tourism demonstrating the motivational linkage between the Muslim Brotherhood and the terrorists.

Security sources in Egypt say that the bomb was meant to explode at the crossing between Israel and Egypt which may explain the Muslim Brotherhood’s Zionist crack. The MB was reacting prematurely to the attack that was supposed to happen, rather than the one that actually did happen.

The bomb may have gone off earlier because the driver, who was killed in the explosion, had taken a detour and stopped off at a coffee shop.

An explosion ripped through a tourist bus near a border crossing between Egypt and Israel in the Sinai Peninsula, killing at least three South Koreans and the Egyptian driver, security officials said.

The security officials said the source of the explosion was not clear, but they believe it was either a car bomb or a roadside bomb that was detonated by remote control.

Rescue workers found three bodies at the scene of the attack and the badly burnt remains of one or possibly two other people, said Khaled Abu Hashem, the head of ambulance services in southern Sinai.

Almost all 33 passengers on the bus were wounded by the explosion, with 12 suffering serious injuries. The wounded were being treated in hospitals in Taba and the coastal resort towns of Nuweiba and Sharm al-Sheikh to the south on the Red Sea’s Gulf of Suez.

The security officials said the bus had arrived at the Taba crossing from the ancient Greek Orthodox monastery of St. Catherine’s in central Sinai. The journey, they said, originated in Cairo, Egypt’s capital.

But simply crossing into Israel makes them Zionists according to the Muslim Brotherhood.

A Muslim Brotherhood speaker demands the liberation of Mecca from the Zionist Saudis.

They’ve got the R4BIA hand of the Muslim Brotherhood Islamist groups. They’ve got microphones and they’re at the Saudi embassy in New York City screaming about the Jews.

It sounds like they’re confused, but the Muslim Brotherhood has been screaming about the Jews for almost a century now since Hassan al-Banna’s claim that the Jews only understand blood and Sayyid Qutb’s “Allah bring down upon the Jews people who will mete out to them the worst kind of punishment, as confirmation of his unequivocal promise.”

It’s what they know how to do and you can’t ask the Muslim Brotherhood, or its front groups like Egyptian Americans for Democracy and Human Rights, to go too far outside their comfort zones. So Yahood, Yahood it is.

“Why did you sell Egypt to the Jews,” the R4BIA goons shout at the Saudis. Apparently the Jews have taken over Cairo after being expelled from Egypt back in the day.

“Saud, you are dirtier than the Jews,” the Egyptian Americans for Democracy and Human Right shout, who don’t look like they’ve taken a bath in a while.

A Muslim Brotherhood speaker in a Russian fur hat demands the liberation of the mosques of Mecca from the Zionist Saudis. That would be the same Mecca that the Saudis have barred Jews and other non-Muslims from even entering. It’s a strange form of Zionism, but who am I to argue with an angry Muslim in a Russian fur hat.

His demand is followed by shouts of Allahu Akbar.

A previous speaker accuses the Saudis of giving $100 million to the “Sons of Zion” who apparently not only run Cairo and Mecca, but also the United Nations.

Oddly enough, the one place that Jews don’t control is New York City so that the Muslim Brotherhood’s faithful followers are free to scream their slogans in the Big Apple, but not in Mecca or Cairo.

They didn’t produce any crops, but that’s for the best considering the kinds of crops their Taliban buddies tend to grow in Afghanistan.

An Islamic organization once listed by the Justice Department as a co-conspirator in a high-profile terror case is among many groups that have received thousands in federal farm subsidies, without producing any crops.

Records show that since 1998, the North American Islamic Trust has received over $10,000 across 34 separate taxpayer-funded programs. NAIT’s two relatively small land plots are tax-zoned as “agricultural” — but they aren’t developed.

The group has been able to obtain farm subsidies legally without producing any crops because it is a nonprofit “charity group” landowner — so it received subsidies on top of being tax-exempt.

The North American Islamic Trust’s history is complicated — as the offshoot of the Muslim Students Association and its financial arm, NAIT was founded in 1973 by Middle Eastern-born college students. The majority of NAIT’s founders were members of the Muslim Brotherhood, and the group continues to be backed by Saudi Arabia. NAIT uses Shariah-approved investing with its own company, Allied Asset Advisors, to buy and pool mosques and community centers. Former Allied Asset Advisor board member, Jamal Said, preached the most conservative forms of Islam and was specifically named as a co-conspirator in the terror-funding case.

In the Holy Land Foundation case of 2008, which prosecuted investors charged with sending money to Hamas, NAIT was named by U.S. federal prosecutors as a co-conspirator and an entity that is or was “a member of the Muslim Brotherhood” (the parent organization of Hamas).

The Holy Land Foundation’s five accused individuals were sentenced for funneling $12.4 million to the terror group, which controls the Gaza Strip and is dedicated to the destruction of Israel. NAIT never was formally charged in the case.

Every farm subsidy to the North American Islamic Trust has been received at the mailing address of the Islamic Center of Central Missouri Mosque, records show. The USDA lists the “farm location” as Boone County, Mo. But aerial searches of the “agricultural” properties owned by the North American Islamic Trust reveal that the plots are undeveloped, tree-dotted land combined to form just over 100 acres valued at about $59,000.

Forget Bread, Land and Peace. Try No Bread, Worthless Land and Terror.

Employees of totalitarian state-owned media networks are not journalists.

That’s in addition to belonging to Al Jazeera, Qatar’s outlet for terrorist propaganda.

Egyptian prosecutors referred on Wednesday four foreign Al Jazeera journalists and 16 Egyptians, including Peter Greste, Mohmed Fadel Fahmy and Baher Mohamed, to criminal court.

The 16 Egyptian defendants face charges including belonging to a terrorist organisation, harming national unity and social peace, and using terrorism as a means to their goals.

The four foreigners, the Australian award winning journalist Peter Greste, two Englishmen and one Dutch, face charges of collaborating with the Egyptians and providing them with information, equipment, and money as well as broadcasting false information and rumours to convince the international community that Egypt was undergoing a civil war.

The Muslim Brotherhood has now reverted back to being a terrorist group and Peter Greste, a foreign Al Jazeera propagandist is whining from prison that, ““The state here seems to see itself in an existential struggle that pits the forces of good, open, free society against the Islamist ‘terrorists’ still struggling to seize control.”

Wonder where they got that idea.

Neither Peter Greste, nor any employee of Al Jazeera, a propaganda network controlled by the Qatari tyrant whose government has armed terrorists and promoted war abroad, can be referred to as journalists.

Employees of totalitarian state-owned media networks are not journalists. They are propagandists.

Qatar chose to back a Muslim Brotherhood takeover of Egypt. Its paid propagandists deserve to pay the price.

The latest blunder by the political experts.

One of the nice things about human history is that no matter how much people or their leaders misjudge events and make a hash of things, within a few centuries, the debris is cleared away, and we can have another go at getting things right.

Yes, I am thinking about the Middle East. Whether or not there is a message in that turn of events, I’ll leave it to theologians.

At the moment, I have in mind the latest blunder by the experts — their assessment, just a few months ago, of the nature of the Arab Spring and its democracy movement. Back in spring, the leading experts — from the Obama administration to the neoconservatives on the right to the major liberal media to most of the academic area specialists — were all overwhelmingly predicting that all those great secular, liberal, college-educated kids with their iPhones in Tahrir Square represented the new Egypt and would bring all their wonderful values to the revolution. It was primarily us cranky right-wingers who have been writing on radical Islamic politics (and, of course, the Israelis, who can’t afford to get it wrong on Muslim political habits) who warned that this was all going to end in the rise in still-ancient Egypt of radical Islamist, anti-Israeli, anti-Semitic, anti-Christian, anti American and anti-Western governance.

So our government — as I said, cheered on by neoconservatives as well as liberals — undercut Hosni Mubarak’s regime and told us not to worry about the Islamists. The Muslim Brotherhood were old, tired men who were no longer really radical and had been propped up by the regime just to provide it an opposition punching bag. Armed with their social media devices, the kids would run rings around the sorry excuse for Islamists and deliver real democracy.

Jeez, hadn’t any of those experts been to Egypt? Not a lot of secular liberals hanging out — even at the Universities — let alone in the thousands of villages and urban slums. Who the heck did the pundits think those angry, bearded men were, roaming around glaring at Westerners and Muslim women who dared to walk on the street? I saw them back in the 1960s and ’70s, and even then, they were scary.

By the way, as I recall, Tahrir Square was pretty much a circle. But who’s counting when you are having deranged liberal fantasies? Even if these experts on Sunday political roundtable chatters had not been to Egypt, perhaps it was a clue that a Pew poll this spring said 65 percent of the public would vote Islamist.

Well, the early returns are in.
