The only time that Kerry can help Israel is when he's trying to hurt it

Apparently about the only time that Kerry can help Israel is when he’s angling to hurt it by helping the left.

US Secretary of State John Kerry has been adamant to EU officials not to push the Palestinian Authority (PA)’s anti-Israel resolution through the UN until after the March 2015 elections, a European diplomat told Foreign Policy Friday.

“Kerry has been very, very clear that for the United States it was not an option to discuss whatever text before the end of the Israeli election,” the diplomat stated.

Kerry said that the warning stems from a meeting he had with former President Shimon Peres and Hatnua Chairman Tzipi Livni, who appealed to him out of concerns that the anti-Israel resolution – if passed before elections – would influence the vote toward Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s Likud party and Economics Chairman’s Jewish Home party.

Those are conservative parties and Kerry had been told by two lefties that a UN resolution would backfire by helping the right. Kerry, as he has shown lately, is not against the resolution. He is against Netanyahu.

MK Ayelet Shaked (Jewish Home) wrote on Facebook that the move amounted to “Leftist subversion.”

“They asked to postpone an ambush on Israel not because it is not good for the country, but because it is not good for the Left in the elections,” Shaked fired. “This is unprecedented.”

Sadly it isn’t. The left has shown that it would rather destroy Israel than lose control of it. The “Two State Solution” was their original plan for doing it. The “One State Solution” is their Samson option for destroying Israel rather than democratically cede it to the Jews.

Remember when the United States used to uphold religious freedom?

Why exactly is the Secretary of State trying to dictate who can and can’t pray at a particular place? Does Kerry think that the Temple Mount is a public school?

Washington called for Israeli authorities to reopen the Temple Mount to Muslim worshipers Thursday, while also condemning the shooting of a US-born activist who lobbied for Jewish rights on the holy site

“It is absolutely critical that all sides exercise restraint, refrain from provocative actions and rhetoric, and preserve the historic status quo on the Haram al-Sharif/Temple Mount – in word and in practice,” Kerry said in a statement.

“The Haram al-Sharif/Temple Mount must be re-opened to Muslim worshipers and I support the long-standing practices regarding non-Muslim visitors to the site,” he said.

What are those practices?

“Jews cannot worship atop the mount, only at the Western Wall.”

The Secretary of State of the United States just ordered Israel to limit prayers in a particular place to Muslims, not Jews. And apparently to ban other non-Muslims too.

Remember when the United States used to uphold religious freedom? These days it sends people to jail for offending Muslims and orders other countries to engage in religious discrimination on behalf of Muslims.

The speculation comes from another idiotic article by Leslie Gelb urging us to ally with Iran to beat ISIS. (Gelb, like McCain, doesn’t seem to grasp that allying with one side in a holy war between terrorist groups is a terrible idea that culminates in genocide.)

But aside from his usual stupidity, Gelb is also the President Emeritus of the CFR which makes this speculation something interesting.

This foreign policy sleight of hand was revealed last month when Secretary of State John Kerry let slip America’s intention to “de-conflict” with Assad. One apparent result of these subtle moves is that Assad seems to be turning off his air-defense system when U.S. aircraft attack his territory. For its part, the U.S. hasn’t hit major oil fields under ISIS control. Presumably this is because Assad wants them working when he takes over again.

Assad keeps his air-defense systems out of our way for obvious reasons. He probably even keeps them that way when Israeli jets come calling and no one could accuse him of having a secret alliance with Jerusalem.

It’s the latter bit of speculation that is more interesting.

The usual assumption was that Obama didn’t want to bomb the oil fields for environmental reasons. That would be the kind of stupidity you would expect from him. But Gelb is suggesting that Obama has a deal with Assad to let money keep flowing to ISIS in the hopes of ultimately stabilizing the regime. That doesn’t seem all that likely since all signs point to the US throwing in all the way with the Sunni Jihadists of the FSA. And we’re not talking about an administration that can walk and chew gum at the same time on an international diplomatic level.

But if such a deal does exist, it would be extremely troubling.

The United States should not be making deals with Assad. Particularly not deals that keep money flowing to terrorists.

Kerry’s astounding diplomatic gifts continue bearing fruit. Some Israeli ministers were not particularly happy when he told a Muslim audience that ISIS recruitment was Israel’s fault.

Economics Minister and Jewish Home Chairman Naftali Bennett fired back at US Secretary of State John Kerry on Friday.

“Even when a British Muslim beheads a British Christian, there will always be those who blame the Jews,” Bennett stated.

“We don’t justify terror; we fight terror,” he added.

“I suggest they listen to and believe ISIS,” he said. “These terrorists want to take over the Middle East, from Syria to Jordan and Lebanon, and to re-establish the [historic] Islamic caliphate.”

“We could either fight it or explain it away,” he continued. “The choice is in the world’s hands, and it will bear the consequences.”

The State Department’s Marie Harf responded in predictable fashion.

“By any means it is an inaccurate reading of what the Secretary said,” Harf continued. “He did not make a linkage between Israel and the growth of ISIL, period.”

Later, Harf accused Bennett of having an agenda.

“In terms of this specific Israeli minister’s comments, I think, and I think the Secretary thinks, and everyone thinks that what you say actually matters and not just how someone tries to distort it for their own political purposes,” Harf added.

Well who are you going to believe; Kerry or one of the toadies walking behind him and cleaning up his messes?

“As I went around and met with people in the course of our discussions about the ISIL coalition, the truth is we – there wasn’t a leader I met with in the region who didn’t raise with me spontaneously the need to try to get peace between Israel and the Palestinians, because it was a cause of recruitment and of street anger and agitation,” Kerry said.

Since ISIS is un-Islamic, it must be Jewish.

Hey you know who is helping ISIS recruit fighters? No, not close allies like Qatar and Turkey. Not all the Muslim countries whose citizens are covertly or not so covertly funding ISIS either.

It’s Israel. Obviously. Kerry is continuing the proud tradition of using Jews as a scapegoat.

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry told Muslims Thursday night that the absence of peace between Israel and the Palestinian Authority is “a cause of recruitment and of street anger and agitation.”

He told a reception in honor of the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Adha that the anger “has something to do with humiliation and denial and absence of dignity.”

Kerry began his speech by praising the “terrific $5.4 billion” raised in Cairo this week to rebuild Gaza. He did not mention that Hamas, which runs Gaza, has not agreed to disarm and has actually bragged that it is continuing to manufacture rockets to restore the stockpile lose in the recent war.

“As I went around and met with people in the course of our discussions about the ISIL coalition, the truth is we – there wasn’t a leader I met with in the region who didn’t raise with me spontaneously the need to try to get peace between Israel and the Palestinians, because it was a cause of recruitment and of street anger and agitation that they felt – and I see a lot of heads nodding – they had to respond to. And people need to understand the connection of that. And it has something to do with humiliation and denial and absence of dignity, and Eid celebrates the opposite of all of that,” Kerry said.

That must be why Iraqi and Syrian Sunnis keep killing Shiites… because they’re angry at Israel. That’s why instead of going to attack Israel, they start killing other Muslims.

And that’s how the whole Shiite-Sunni split got started. A thousand years ago the Sunnis and Shiites both hated the Jews. Once Mohammed had ordered all the Jews expelled, they ran out of Jews to persecute and had to begin killing each other.

But obviously a lot of Muslims heads will start nodding when Kerry blames ISIS on the Jews. Since he and his boss have already declared that ISIS is un-Islamic, that just means it must be Jewish.

It doesn’t get more obvious than this.

“Like everybody in this room, I’m sure I watched … the president – many I think were shocked – when he emphasized that the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant was in fact not Islamic. They not simply refer to themselves as the Islamic State. They don’t call themselves the Methodist State or the Episcopalian State or the Baptist State. They’re the Islamic State, and I think for good reason,” Rep. Steve Chabot (R-Ohio) said.

Kerry said of ISIS. “They’re the enemy of Islam. That’s what they are, and as the 21 clerics yesterday said in Saudi Arabia, they are in fact the order of Satan.”

Kerry is doing a great job of presenting the Saudi position, but shouldn’t the Secretary of State be able to present an American position?

We’ve gone so far down the rabbit hole with the “Religion of Peace” nonsense that politicians operate in the Islamic theological space even when criticizing Al Qaeda.

“The Party of Satan” is Islamist rhetoric, traditionally directed at Hezbollah for obvious reasons (Party of Allah). As with Hezbollah, the differences between the Saudis and ISIS aren’t “moderate” or “extreme”. They’re theological rivals with conflicting claims of religious supremacy.

Kerry echoing the Saudis only sounds foolish.

The Saudis can insist for pragmatic reasons that ISIS is not Islam, but since when is the United States in the business of deciding which flavor of a religion is the right one? Are we suddenly endorsing one group of Wahhabis over another? And why?

They’re both enemies of the United States. They both believe in killing non-Muslims.

If the United States isn’t going to set up a state church or mosque, then it has no business announcing which Islamic group is legitimate or not. It’s not only unconstitutional, it’s a silly waste of time and proves nothing.

Nobody appointed Kerry to decide which Islamic group represents real Islam. He doesn’t have the standing or qualifications for it.

Either Kerry continues his long gaffe parade or the White House decided it was a war a day after claiming it wasn’t a war.

Whichever of these it may be, the foreign policy of Obama Inc. is a completely dysfunctional mess.

When asked by ABC News on Thursday whether the U.S. is at war, Secretary of State John Kerry said no.

“No. Look, we’re engaged in a counterterrorism operation of a significant order,” Mr. Kerry said. “And counterterrorism operations can take a long time, they go on. I think ‘war’ is the wrong reference term with respect to that, but obviously it involves kinetic military action.”

Against those pesky man-caused disasters.

The administration’s language shifted on Friday. Spokesmen for the White House and Pentagon used nearly the same wording to describe American action in Iraq and Syria.

White House spokesman Josh Earnest:

“I think what you can conclude from this is the United States is at war with ISIL in the same way that we are at war with al Qaeda and its al Qaeda affiliates all around the globe.”

Pentagon spokesman Rear Adm. John Kirby:

“This is not the Iraq war of 2002. But make no mistake, we know we are at war with ISIL in the same way we are at war and continue to be at war with al Qaeda and its affiliates.”

So it’s a war or it’s like a war or it’s akin to a war and it’s not a war… but it’s a war.

Any day now Obama will finally have a strategy. Until then he’s going to bomb things, give speeches and play golf.

Some crazy right wingers whose foreign policy is stuck in the 80s say that you should have a strategy before you begin bombing things, but they’re obsessed with horses, bayonets and navies for some reason.

And they’re not even on Instagram. Who needs a war strategy when you have a social media strategy?

Secretary of State John Kerry, speaking at the NATO summit in Wales on Friday, dismissed critics of President Obama’s lack of strategy to fight Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL or ISIS): “Contrary to what you sort of heard in the politics of our country, the president is totally committed; there is a strategy that is clear, becoming more clear by the day.”

Kerry also called ISIS “not as organized as everybody thinks.”

Neither are Kerry and Obama.

According to John Kerry, the Bible wants him to protect Muslim theocracies

John Kerry is as familiar with the Bible, any bible, as he is with the Koran or the Constitution.

Wednesday at a ceremony to appoint Texas lawyer Shaarik Zafar to be special representative to Muslim communities, Secretary of State John Kerry said it was the United States’ Biblical “responsibility” to “confront climate change,” including to protect “vulnerable Muslim majority counties.”

“Confronting climate change is, in the long run, one of the greatest challenges that we face, and you can see this duty or responsibility laid down in scriptures, clearly, beginning in Genesis. And Muslim-majority countries are among the most vulnerable. Our response to this challenge ought to be rooted in a sense of stewardship of Earth. And for me and for many of us here today, that responsibility comes from God.”

Does Kerry understand why these countries are majority Muslim? It’s because they killed or repressed other religions and continue to do so to this day.

Apparently Genesis somewhere tells us that we must protect Muslim theocracies that want to oppress and kill us from an imaginary problem that doesn’t exist… while ignoring what happens when our own countries start turning into majority Muslim countries due to migration.

And then Kerry goes on to deliver remarks that Jimmy Carter might blush at.

“There is a commonality in the Abrahamic faiths particularly, but in all faiths and in all philosophies of way of life and thinking, even Native Americanism or Confucianism and others, and that is every single one of them contains a fundamental basic notion of the Golden Rule – the importance of charity, compassion, and human improvement.”

Here you have liberal secular theology in a nutshell. Every religion is basically the same and therefore disposable.

The Prophet Muhammad said of loving your brother, “Not one of you truly believes until you wish for others what you wish for yourself.”

Robert Spencer and Ali Sina have already addressed this one.

The problem with the good teachings of Muhammad is that they are reserved for fellow Muslims. When the hadith says “None of you [truly] believes until he wishes for his brother what he wishes for himself,.” it is talking about the fellow Muslims. The brotherhood in Islam does not extend to everyone. The Quran (9:23) states that the believers should not take for friends and protectors (awlia) their fathers and brothers if they love Infidelity above Islam. In fact there are many verses that tell the Muslims to kill the unbelievers and be harsh to them. A clear example that Islam is not based on the Golden Rule is the verse (48:29): “Muhammad is the messenger of Allah; and those who are with him are strong against Unbelievers, (but) compassionate amongst each other.” This is the perfect definition of fascism.

Specifically, the correct translation of the Hadith is “None of you truly believes (in Allaah and in His religion) until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself.”

A brother is a fellow Muslim. Not an infidel.

Here’s another variation of a quoted Hadith with its context.

“Whoever wishes to be delivered from the fire and enter the garden should die with faith in Allah and the Last Day and should treat the people as he wishes to be treated by them. He who swears allegiance to a Caliph should give him the pledge of his hand and the sincerity of his heart (i.e. submit to him both outwardly as well as inwardly). He should obey him to the best of his capacity. It another man comes forward (as a claimant to Caliphate), disputing his authority, they (the Muslims) should behead the latter.”

There’s a reason they don’t quote the beheading part.

“The real face of Islam is a peaceful religion based on the dignity of all human beings.”

John Kerry tried to read the Idiot’s Guide to the Koran, then he switched to a tape of Islam for Dummies and then he finally gave up and just assumed that Muslims were like the Amish but with longer beards.

Kerry spoke to a largely-Islamic audience at the State Department Wednesday, which had assembled to recognize State’s new “special representative for Muslim communities,” Shaarik Zafar. But the planned event was overshadowed by the brutal beheading of Sotloff by ISIS fighters in Iraq, pushing the secretary to again publicly condemn the group.

“But here today, what is really important — and I want to take advantage of this podium and of this moment, to underscore as powerfully as I know how — that the face of Islam is not the butchers who killed Steven Sotloff,” he continued, to immediate applause. “That’s [ISIS].”

“The face of Islam is not the nihilists who know only how to destroy, not to build,” Kerry went on. “It’s not masked cowards whose actions are an ugly insult to the peaceful religion that they violate every single day with their barbarity, and whose fundamental principles they insult with their actions.”

“The real face of Islam is a peaceful religion based on the dignity of all human beings,” the secretary asserted. “It’s one where Muslim communities are leading the fight against poverty. It’s one where Muslim communities are providing basic health care and emergency assistance on the frontlines of some of our most devastating humanitarian crises.”

What better moment could there be to push a completely revisionist history of Islam than while commemorating a man murdered by the Islamic State.

But which Muslim country represents this peaceful religion that offers dignity to all human beings? Saudi Arabia? Qatar? Kuwait? Yemen? Iran? Turkey? Indonesia? ISIS?

Muslim countries are poor because of their feudal structure. Their best doctors become terrorists. The real face of Islam is ISIS, not an army of Muslim NGOs fighting poverty and then funneling the money to Al Qaeda.

More blood for the Green Goddess.

“Certain agricultural processes can actually release carbon pollution and help contribute to the problem [of global warming] in the first place,” Kerry said. “Rather than convert natural areas to new farmland – a process that typically releases significant amounts of carbon pollution – we can instead concentrate our efforts on making existing farmlands more productive.”

Or they could do both.

That seems like a good idea for a continent struggling with famines.

The original Green Revolution played a key role in expanding agricultural usability. But as the population expands, farmland has to expand too.

“Let them eat Heinz Ketchup” is not an option.

Greens however care more about Carbon than people. That’s the sociopathic position on display here. The Greens respond to everything by touting more efficiency, meanwhile they run up the cost of the original product.

They’ve done that with energy in the West. Now they’re trying to do it with food in Africa.

There are senior citizens dying of Energy Poverty in the UK because the Greens pushed wind and solar subsidies. Now they would like to see children dying in Africa.

If we keep doing the same stupid thing that doesn't work some more, it'll work!

If we keep doing the same stupid thing that doesn’t work some more, it’ll work!

Obama and Kerry keep pushing ceasefires that Hamas keeps violating. Every instinct should urge them to stop. But this isn’t an administration that stops doing bad and terrible things just because they don’t work.

It doubles down on them instead.

John Kerry: We believe the momentum generated by these short-term cease-fires is the best way to achieve a sustainable cease-fire.

State department spokeswoman Jen Psaki: ”Our focus is now is on short term ceasefires than can be built on each other.”

I’m not sure which version of this is crazier.

Kerry is saying that enough worthless ceasefires chained together will somehow lead to a permanent ceasefire. That’s the same logic that leads people to keep sending money to Nigerian princes.

Hamas keeps violating ceasefires, but Kerry believes that each ceasefire creates “momentum”. This is Diplospeak for “We’re complete failures, but don’t fire us yet, because our failures are building momentum for success.”

Psaki’s version is slightly crazier, though more honest, because she is essentially admitting that the ceasefires are worthless, but if you pile enough of them together, you have… a bunch of worthless ceasefires. But they’re tied together so it’s almost, kinda, sorta… still worthless.

So instead they’ll keep insisting that Israel agree to ceasefires, which Hamas will break, which Israel will then attack, and then Kerry will insist that Israel adopt another short term ceasefire.

Rinse. Repeat.

But wait, you can’t point out that Kerry is an idiot. That will permanently ruin relations between Israel and whoever replaces Obama.

Other officials used even harsher language, saying the attacks on Kerry crossed a line and put the relationship between the U.S. and Israel in jeopardy. Those officials insisted on anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the matter on the record by name.

Right.

Russia humiliates Kerry and it doesn’t cross a line. Egypt humiliates Kerry, no lines crossed. A liberal Israeli paper blasts Kerry and suddenly… lines are crossed.

Maybe if enough of those lines are crossed, we’ll have a sustainable ceasefire. It’s a plan so crazy that it’s bound to work.

Rewarding violence only perpetuates it

Setting aside the discussion of the individual details of the proposals, the fundamental problem with the Qatar/Kerry ceasefire proposal is that Hamas comes out of it with advantages that it did not have before the war.

A ceasefire that rewards a terrorist group for starting a conflict will only guarantee more of the same.

Rewarding Hamas for its aggression doesn’t mean an end to the violence. It means that every time Hamas wants something, it knows that a war is a good way of getting it.

That’s the message that Obama and Kerry seem determined to send to Hamas.

There’s nothing peaceful about rewarding violence. That’s been the root cause of all this since Oslo. If you give in to terrorism, you get more terrorism. If you reward terrorists with goodies, you’ve trained them to shoot you like a pinata so the goodies come out.

The larger message here goes beyond Hamas. It once again reinforces the message in the Middle East that America is weak and that terrorism works.

Can we at least hope that Qatar hasn’t gotten around to putting the Stinger missiles it wasn’t supposed to have in Hamas’ hands? And isn’t this entire Qatari push to open up Gaza a good way of getting weapons into the hands of Hamas?

Qatar became infamous for smuggling weapons to Jihadists in Libya and Syria with the complicity of Obama. Some of those weapons fell into the hands of the Taliban.

And now the terror state would love nothing more than to arm Hamas. With Obama’s complicity. Again.

The US has rejected Israeli criticism directed at Secretary of State John Kerry and his efforts to achieve a lasting ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.

Asked how the photo-op with the Qataris and Turks helps the US optics, the senior US official said., “It’s a relationship-building game.”

The US does not approve of Qatar providing money to Hamas, but believes that this gives the Doha government leverage and the US needs a way to reach Hamas.

According to the US administration an “enduring” or “sustained” agreement means that Hamas would get a lifting of border restrictions and it would address Israel’s security concerns.

Address is synonymous with ignore.

So Hamas will get rewarded for shelling Tel Aviv and murdering three Israeli boys. Meanwhile Obama, Kerry and the rest of the team absolutely oppose Qatar arming terrorists and yet keep letting Qatar use them as hand puppets.

We saw it with Qatar and the Taliban. Now we’re seeing it with Qatar and Hamas.

It’s bad enough that previous administrations outsourced their foreign policy to Saudi Arabia. Obama is outsourcing it to Qatar.

Meanwhile Egypt and the PLO aren’t too happy about Kerry’s romance with Qatar.

Palestinian officials in Ramallah on Sunday launched scathing attacks on US Secretary of State John Kerry and accused him of working to appease Qatar and Turkey at the expense of Egypt and the Palestinian Authority.

Walid Assaf, a former PA minister, pointed out that “this was the first meeting to discuss a Palestinian issue without Palestinian participation.”

Qatar has become the sole and legitimate representative of the Palestinian people, Assaf said with a tone of sarcasm.

PA President Mahmoud Abbas’s Fatah faction said in a statement: “Those who want Qatar or Turkey to represent them should leave and go live there.”

Laura Rozen was shrieking on Twitter, while waving around a Qatari document from Al Jazeera, that Israel was lying about Kerry. Now the PLO has the same point of view.

It’s unfortunate that American foreign policy and chunks of the media are being held hostage by the Qatari state sponsors of terror.

This is the paper that Kerry denied existed.

Not exactly surprising from an administration that began with secret negotiations with Hamas… that are no longer secret.

The cease-fire draft U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry presented to Israel on Friday evening contained practically no mention of Israel’s security needs or of demilitarizing the Gaza Strip of rockets and heavy weaponry or of the need of destroying the terror tunnels linking Gaza to Israeli territory, according to a draft of the document obtained by Haaretz, revealed here for the first time.

The third clause goes on to spell out, in one way or another, Hamas’ demands: arrangements to secure the opening of crossings, allow the entry of goods and people and ensure the social and economic livelihood of the Palestinian people living in Gaza, transfer of funds to Gaza for the payment of salaries for public employees and address all security issues.

Israel’s demands were mentioned in the most general of terms in the phrase “address all security issues.” There was no one mention of demilitarizing the Gaza Strip of its rocket supply or advanced weapons, and not the dismantling of the terror tunnels…

The final clause of the draft determined that “members of the international community, including the United Nations, the Arab League, the European Union, the United States, Turkey, Qatar and many others, support the effective implementation of the humanitarian cease-fire and agreements reached between the parties, in cooperation and coordination with the parties, and will join in a major humanitarian assistance initiative to address the immediate needs of the people of Gaza.”

Qatar and Turkey are both state sponsors of Hamas terrorism. Egypt and Saudi Arabia aren’t mentioned.

More significantly the only issues being addressed are Hamas’ demands. Israel’s issues with being shelled by Hamas rockets and its citizens targeted for massacres through Hamas tunnels are put last… under security needs.

On Twitter, Laura Rozen has been accusing Haaretz’ Barak Ravid of making up the whole thing to smear Kerry. And then screaming that Israeli officials were constantly “smearing and distorting” Kerry and Hagel.

But then again, Laura Rozen has a track record of making smears like that.

Once you get past her Twitter meltdown however, both Barak Ravid’s version of the draft agreement and her draft agreement are not that different. The major difference is that the Qatar section gets moved down to the end.

Rozen’s version has the same set of priorities…

Convene within 48 hours to negotiate resolution of all issues necessary to achieve a sustainable ceasefire and enduring solution to the crisis in Gaza, including arrangements to secure the opening of border and non-border crossings, allow the entry of goods and people and ensure the social and economic livelihood of the Palestinian people living in Gaza, including fishing rights up to 12nm, transfer funds to Gaza for the payment of salaries for public employees, and address security issues.

There’s a long list of Hamas’ demands, while Israel’s go unmentioned by name entirely.

Unable to argue with Ravid’s facts, Laura Rozen has resorted to attacking him for suggesting that the Kerry proposal recognizes Hamas as the legitimate government.

But in fact that’s exactly what it does. The document negotiates issues involving the people of Gaza with Hamas. It may not come out and mention Hamas, but that’s who the ceasefire is really with. Once you accept that Hamas is acting as a representative of the people of Gaza, it’s now recognized as the legitimate government.

Meanwhile the Palestinian Authority’s Ma’an agency is carrying the Haaretz report. So apparently the PLO and Israel are both being mean to Kerry.

More significantly, by posting the ceasefire proposal, Laura Rozen has admitted that her boy Kerry is a liar.

A few hours before the press conference began, the Israeli security cabinet ministers unanimously rejected Kerry’s cease-fire plan draft. Kerry, as is his wont, seemed and sounded as if he came from a parallel universe. He claimed to have never presented Israel with a formal offer for a cease-fire, slammed the Israeli media’s “mischievous reports” and promised that Netanyahu’s office will issue a clarification.

An associate of Kerry responded as such: “There is no paper and no proposal. The draft was based on the Egyptian proposal that Israel whole heartedly supported. So if they are opposed. They are opposed their own plan.”

So the Israelis are liars, according to Rozen, who proves it with a ceasefire proposal that is basically identical to the Israeli version… which Kerry denied existed.

It’s not just a walking embarrassment. It’s also the Secretary of State.

Taking a break in Jerusalem today from his attempt to broker a cease-fire between Hamas and Israel, Secretary of State John Kerry visited with the parents of Max Steinberg, a 24-year-old Los Angeles native and IDF soldier who was killed in action in Gaza.

According to the Los Angeles Jewish Journal, “Kerry entered and exited the room swiftly, surrounded by men in black and refusing to take any questions from press.”

“How’s your day?” Kerry asked as he sat down. “How’s your day?” Evie [Steinberg's mother] asked back. “My day’s going better than yours,” he said.

It could have been worse. Here’s how Joe Biden would have handled it.

Charles Woods, the father of former Navy Seal Tyrone Woods who was killed in the terrorist attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya, said when his son’s body came home, Vice President Joe Biden asked him, “Did your son always have balls the size of cue balls?”

In Biden’s defense, he seems to be drunk most of the time. Kerry doesn’t have that excuse. He’s just an idiot.

Looking at the photo above, it’s easy to see why Bush beat Kerry. Kerry wrangled the job of a top diplomat, but he has no ability to actually relate to other people. Egomaniacs rarely do. The high functioning types like Obama can fake it with a rapid charm routine that’s still all about them, but Kerry can’t even do that. If he could, he might be a little better at his job.

War hero John Kerry doesn’t appear to be a big fan of Israel’s campaign against Hamas. But to be fair, he wasn’t a big fan of the US campaign against the Viet Cong, the Sandinistas or the Taliban.

He’s only being consistent.

Just moments after a testy exchange with “Fox News Sunday’s” Chris Wallace over what the Secretary of State perceived as repeated interruptions, Wallace played a clip captured while Kerry waited to appear on the Sunday news program.

Seemingly oblivious to the Fox News camera in front of him and Fox News mic pinned on his lapel, America’s top diplomat harshly criticized the on-going Israeli operation in Gaza following news of Israeli army casualties and Palestinian civilian deaths.

“It’s a helluva pinpoint operation,” he told a top aide sarcastically over his cellphone. “It’s a helluva pinpoint operation. We’ve got to get over there. Thank you, John. I think John, we ought to go tonight. I think it’s crazy to be sitting around.”

“Secretary Kerry, when you said it’s a helluva pinpoint operation, are you upset the Israelis are going too far?” Wallace asked.

The diplomat, who appeared to hang his head in disgust the moment Wallace said he would play the tape, composed himself in time for a diplomatic answer.

“I think it’s very, very difficult in these situations, obviously very difficult, Chris,” he said, saying Israel has a “right to go in and take out [Hamas] tunnels” and that the administration “supports Israel’s right to defend itself against rockets that are continuing to come in.”

Obviously, you can just feel the support and love. If Israel gives John Kerry a medal, he can throw it over a fence.

Not surprising.

Kerry is almost as unpopular in Egypt as Obama. Both men are associated with the Muslim Brotherhood takeover of the country. Kerry was the subject of protests in Egypt where he was depicted looking like a member of the Taliban.

And Israel would rather suffer more rocket strikes than 5 minutes with Kerry after his incessant peace process activism earlier. It doesn’t help that Kerry continues to undermine Israel using the Europeans. Or that he attempts to take credit for things that he has nothing to do with.

So there’s a common point of agreement.

Secretary of State John Kerry offered numerous times to fly to Cairo or Jerusalem to assist in cease-fire negotiations but was told that the sides “didn’t need American mediation,” according to an account of events by Haaretz.

Senior Israeli officials told Haaretz that Kerry offered to come to directly join the talks in each and every call during the attempted brokering of a cease-fire between Israel and Hamas on Monday, but was “politely rejected” by all sides.

At least it was polite. The Russians didn’t bother being polite.

Nobody seems to need or want Kerry to show up except the Afghans, for whom life is so grim that they can use the comic relief. No one in the Middle East is that badly off.

Secretary of State John Kerry will tackle Al Qaeda appointing gay ambassadors to Asian countries.

Secretary of State John Kerry, America’s greatest diplomat since Kendall Myers, has announced a plan to tackle Al Qaeda in Iraq by appointing gay ambassadors to Asian countries.

As long as those gay ambassadors give Obama money first. Ted Osius of the State Department gave Obama money. Now he’s the Ambassador to Vietnam.

If he had given more money, he might have actually gotten France or the UK, but old Ted cheaped out. This is what happens when you cheap out, you end up in Vietnam.

Still he’s gay, so Kerry will count coup on that while Al Qaeda counts human heads.

During his speech, Kerry said that, if confirmed, Ted Osius (nominated by President Obama for the post in Vietnam) would be the sixth openly gay U.S. ambassador currently in service:

So I am very proud of the progress that we are now making even in appointing LGBT ambassadors. I worked with the committee here at the State Department – with the D Committee, and I worked with the White House. And as a result, Ted Osius, sitting here, whom I’ve known a long time, and his family I know, will be the first openly LGBT officer nominated to serve as an ambassador in Asia. And on confirmation, he’s going to join five openly gay ambassadors who are now serving their country. I’m working hard to ensure that by the end of my tenure, we will have lesbian, bisexual, and transgender ambassadors in our ranks as well.

Let’s not forget the asexual, metrosexual and bisexual ambassadors. Al Qaeda will want a large diverse selection of ambassadors to kidnap, kill, behead, blow up or smother to death in a fire.
