“We have to stop believing or following the rules. Break the rules,” New York Attorney General Letitia James recently told a radical leftist magazine. And she’s been doing exactly that.
Since taking office, the state’s top prosecutor has promoted one politically motivated prosecution after another, targeting, among others, the NRA and the Trump family, even as crime in the state soared to horrifying new heights. An exclusive Freedom Center investigation showed that 1,000 people died while Attorney General Letitia James neglected her duties.
Now James and her media allies are crying because the Justice Department is investigating her.
And no one deserves it more than her.
The New York attorney general’s spokesperson claimed that the federal investigation of the worst attorney general in the country was a “weaponization of the justice system” and “any weaponization of the justice system should disturb every American.”
That is true. It’s why James’ campaign to dissolve the National Rifle Association (NRA) and plunder its assets as part of her promise to eliminate the group for entirely political reasons was so disturbing. It’s why when she ran on promising to “take on President Donald Trump” and fulfilled that promise through politically motivated investigations of his organizations and businesses was equally disturbing. And it’s why the Justice Department has issued subpoenas and is looking into the misconduct of her office in both politically motivated prosecutions.
The so-called ‘fraud’ case against President Trump was illegitimately framed and prosecuted. It should never have existed and would never have existed except for purely political reasons.
Attorney General James now faces her own investigation for mortgage fraud for falsely listing a home for her niece as her ‘primary’ residents. Then there are the documents misstating details in a loan document about a house in New York and James’ father falsely claiming her as his wife on yet another loan document in what looks like a pattern of serial mortgage fraud.
James is claiming that these are just mistakes that are being selectively criminalized. Much like the politically motivated case she brought against Trump for allegedly overstating his assets. But the pattern is that the mistakes were those that were helpful to James and her family. When normal non-criminal people make unmotivated errors, they can fall in either direction, but the ‘mistakes’ in the mortgages involving James and her family all improved the likelihood of getting a loan and the likelihood of getting a loan at a better rate. While it’s hard to prove intent, James had no problem prosecuting the Trump family without regard to what their intent was.
And while perhaps a normal person might deserve some benefit of the doubt, Letitia James offered none when pursuing her political opponents entirely political reasons.
And so Attorney General Letitia James deserves nothing but what she gave to others.
James ought to know how that works since she built her plans for her political career around it. Now she’s stuck complaining that investigating her politically motivated investigations is politically motivated. The only human beings who could take that seriously work in the media.
Letitia James promised to take down the NRA and Trump while running for attorney general. She made a mockery of the idea of the rule of law. Democrats funded her on the explicit understanding that she would pursue the politically motivated investigations that she did. Communist dictatorships have been less explicit about their motives in jailing their critics.
The only remaining argument against investigating James is the same one being put forward in defense of gerrymandering in Illinois. It’s different when Democrats do it. Perhaps the media will even recycle Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker’s defense of his gerrymandering, that it’s not racist because it targets white people, not black people. The politically motivated prosecutions of Attorney General Letitia James all targeted white people. While the DOJ is targeting her.
Surely that’s racist.
While Letitia James slimed her way into higher office by working with leftist groups, she’s not much of a lawyer, and has brought in former Hunter Biden lawyer Abbe Lowell to defend her. Lowell, whose success in defending the former president’s son was somewhat mixed, created a new law firm, Lowell & Associates, to defend Democrats who had gone after Trump from facing the legal blowback in a new administration, or as they put it “facing politicized investigations”.
So far the only publicly known client is James who pioneered “politicized investigations”.
Lowell’s defense of Hunter Biden had leaned heavily on the day that the crackhead who had left behind ample evidence of his misdeeds and yet had been protected from the consequences by his father’s authority was only facing prosecution for crimes anyone else would have spent years in jail for because of “Republican pressure”.
“If Hunter’s last name was anything other than Biden, the charges in Delaware, and now California, would not have been brought,” Lowell claimed. The one thing everyone knows about Delaware and California, is that it’s full of Republicans abusing the law to go after Dems.
Hunter’s lawyer has been brushing off the Hunter defense for Letitia James, but it didn’t work for the former president’s son and there’s no reason to think it will work for one of her attack dogs. Lowell has been trying to try the case in the media and isn’t doing a very good job because he has to make the case that the investigation of his client is politically motivated, but her investigations were not, and no one (probably not even Lowell) seriously believes that.
And yet the larger class of victims of James’ misdeeds aren’t Trump and conservatives.
Along the way, she abused her office and failed in her first duty to the people of New York, to keep them safe from violent criminals like those that her political movement supports.
In 2019, when James first took office, there were 567 murders in the state, by 2020, there were 841 murders and since she held office, there has been a total of 987 excess deaths. Around 1,000 extra people were murdered under Attorney General Letita James while she wasted her time on partisan investigations of Trump and other conservative opponents.
Their blood will always be on her hands.
Attorney General Letitia James showed zero interest in actually doing her job, viewing it only as a stepping stone to some higher office, and while she’s certainly far from the first state attorney general to do that, or the first to abuse it for partisan purposes, she was the first in a long time to transform her position into a level to prosecute, ban, defund and lock up her political opponents.
Now she may face the most perfect reckoning imaginable as she faces the prospect of justice.

She could reduce the murder rate by redefining the definition of murder. That’s what governments usually do.

Humans have already redefined the definition of murder. The Old Testament defines what is deserving of capital punishment, Laying in wait, cold blooded murder is what Leviticus 24:17 is the law from our Creator.
Capital punishment in USA for cold blooded premeditated murder is a deterrent.
Self defense, soldiers in war, crime of insane passion is not included in this.
The Commandment thou shall not murder, not kill. You had to kill food and soldiers had to kill the enemy..
Whether or not capital punishment is a deterrent to cold-blooded murder is debatable when it takes anywhere from 10 – 20 years for all of the appeals to be heard, postponements, etc.. However, it sure does cure recidivism.
