It’s official. Sanctuary cities and states for illegal alien criminals are also sanctuaries for deadly assaults on immigration officers.
In California, an Obama judge decided to let off an illegal alien who rammed his car into ICE officers. We now have a second case out of Seattle.
A jury on Friday acquitted Victor Vivanco-Reyes, of four felony counts of assaulting federal officers with a deadly weapon, stemming from a June 2025 confrontation on Camano Island in which prosecutors said he rammed a truck and trailer into agents during an arrest attempt, injuring officers and damaging government vehicles.
Vivanco-Reyes, a citizen of Mexico, was illegally living in Stanwood at the time and had fled from agents just weeks before the June 6, 2025, confrontation on Camano Island, which left multiple Homeland Security investigation (HSI) agents injured, according to court documents.
Agents identified Vivanco-Reyes as the driver, but prosecutors say he suddenly sped off, driving dangerously and nearly hitting a pedestrian, other vehicles, and a school bus…
Then, prosecutors say, Vivanco-Reyes accelerated.
The truck veered toward the agent’s vehicle, striking it with enough force that the attached trailer lifted into the air. The open passenger door slammed shut, pinning the agent’s shoulder and causing injuries to his ribs and arm.
The truck narrowly missed another officer who was trying to exit his vehicle.
Moments later, Vivanco-Reyes drove straight into a second agent’s car, severely damaging it and knocking an agent off balance as he exited, prosecutors said.
Vivanco-Reyes, according to DHS, was a convicted drive-by shooter who engaged in a prison riot. A jury let him off, despite extensive evidence, because politicians and the media convinced that ICE is evil and its officers deserve anything that happens to them.
This is civil war stuff and it’s not going to end well.

The Civil War was not launched to free slaves, otherwise the Emancipation Proclamation would’ve been issued in 1862 when war broke out, not in 1863. The Proclamation did not free a single slave in any of a handful of Union slave-owning states nor in any territory Union troops controlled. As a history major, I was never taught this fact. After Lincoln had been losing battles and firing generals, he needed an issue to galvanize his side– & reluctantly issued the Proclamation, hoping it would result in slave revolts in the South. But remember, Lincoln offered Robert E. Lee the post of head of his Union Army, a southerner, scion of a large, politically prominent slave-owning family in Virginia. Lee turned him down. Hard to imagine if the war was fought to free slaves, that his troops could be led by a Virginian, born on a slave plantation, Stratford Hall. Lincoln wanted to deport freed slaves- to Liberia, Haiti- any country that would take them & supported the Colonization Society. Abe’s home state Illinois, passed the most draconian “anti-black” legislation in the nation– freed slaves couldn’t stay in IL more than 10 days or risk arrest/fines. Lincoln launched his war (sending a warship to Charleston even as a southern negotiating team was headed to DC) to preserve the Union. He did not believe he could run the nation without southern revenues. He pushed the Corwin Amendment up until Ft Sumter, to make slavery permanent & irrevocable where it existed (a Constitutional Amendment) but the South refused the bait.

Thank you, public servant. I found out the same facts when I became a history editor at Oxford University Press, specializing in Southern history.
Another little factoid is that only 2% of Southerners owned slaves in 1860. That’s per the US Census of that year. So 98% of the Southerners were not going to go to war for the plantation owners, although of course the plantation owners did not want to be bankrupted.
If it were about slavery, Lincoln could have offered to buy out the slave owners like the British did in their territories, ending slavery without a shot. It was a struggle for power and control of the Southern States.
And that war was the death knell for state sovereignty, and we’ve struggled with the overpowering Federal government ever since.
The Civil War occurred for many of the reasons we see today. The Congress passed the fugitive slave law and the North proceeded to trample on it and celebrate its violation actively. To the point where wealthy idiots in Boston funded John Brown’s attempt at a race war. Sound familiar? The South had every right to leave the uNION, THE cONSTITUTION WAS RATIFIED WHEN THREE STATES (GUESS WHICH) DEMANDED AND RECEIVED APPROVAL FOR THEIR CONDITION THAT THEY BE GRANTED THE RIGHT TO LEAVE THE uNION AT ANY TIME FOR ANY REASON. Contrary to our idiot education system Lincoln forced the war on the South. He refused their efforts to leave peaceably including paying their share of the national debt. Lincoln retained control of property in Southern control forcing a confrontation. He could have defused the situation but he was not about to end incredibly high tariffs-though the Yankees prior to the final break offered a Constitutional amendment to make slavery permanent.- so much for the purlie argument the war was over slavery.
Today we see the same tactics, the same extremists, the same disregard for the law and the Constitution. This is being driven by those who want collective communist form of govt vs those who cherish what our forefathers built and sacrificed for. The tactics of the Left are the same that funded John Brown-remember these people killed a million Americans a number constantly exaggerated by citing combat deaths rather than total deaths. All wars combined do not amount to Mr. Lincoln’s war totals.
Finally our Constitution was destroyed following the War of the Great Northern aggression. The 9th and 10th amendments? State sovereignty? Protection under the law?

Oh, and the Feds put the Confederate states under martial law for a decade, and stripped all white Southerners of the right to vote of they’d either fought for the Confederacy or “given aid and comfort to the same,” which was practically everyone. Simultaneously, they gave the vote to the freed male slaves, most of whom couldn’t vote, and whom they controlled.

I downloaded a free pdf of ‘The Mini-Manual of the Urban Guerilla’ and found it a quick and disturbing read at 29 pages with chapters such as: Assaults, Ambush, Street Tactics, Executions, Kidnapping, Sabotage, Terrorism, Armed Propaganda, and The War Of Nerves.

One would THINK that those charges would be FEDERAL and not State! Attacks on FEDERAL OFFICERS should result in FEDERAL charges, but maybe they were and the LEFTIST STATE’S “jurors” nullified the actions!
