We were told it was never going to happen. It just happened.
Two American soldiers, members of the Iowa National Guard, and a civilian interpreter were killed in a Muslim terrorist attack.
The official press release states that this was an attack by an ISIS terrorist.
The Trump administration press release claims that the Al Qaeda “President of Syria, Ahmed al-Sharaa, is extremely angry and disturbed by this attack” and that it took place “in a very dangerous part of Syria, that is not fully controlled by them.”
Meanwhile there appear to be authoritative reports naming the killer as a member of the Al Qaeda government under Al-Sharaa/Al-Jolani who had been a member of his Al Qaeda group ‘HTS’ and that the attack took place during a meeting to discuss next steps.
It’s hard to know where the truth lies, but the allegation that the attack was an insider operation are very specific.
Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell stated that “the attack occurred as the soldiers were conducting a key leader engagement.”
That jibes with the allegation that this was an insider attack and an ISIS terrorist should not have had access to such a meeting.
Whatever the truth of the matter is, three Americans are dead because we’re trying to prop up Qatar and Turkey’s Jihadist state.
The excuse that we’re fighting ISIS in Syria is utter nonsense. Yes, ISIS affiliates in Syria. So are Al Qaeda affiliates. We just lost 3 soldiers on the theory that we should be helping the ‘moderate’ Al Qaeda fight the ‘extremist’ ISIS.
Except that Ahmed al-Sharaa had been tasked with setting up his Jihadist group by the Caliph of ISIS. And at the Doha Forum, the Jihadist made it clear that he thinks Americans are terrorists and that his terrorists are the good guys.
Syria's Al Qaeda Leader Al-Sharaa at Doha says he's not a terrorist, America is the real terrorist

Enough of this already. No more nation building. No more propping up whoever Tom Barrack’s backers are. No more dying for Turkey. No more dying for Qatar. No more dying to nation build Muslim countries on behalf of Muslim terrorists while they kill us,
Enough!

3 Americans just died for the greater *glory of peace in the ME* so that Americans can live in “peace”. Excuse me, I should say things better.
Muslims are masters of inside attacks.
Is Jared Kushner responsible, for this foolish Syrian policy? I don’t trust that guy.
We need to stop pointing fingers. Trump has many advisors, but it is Trump who is ultimately responsible for decision-making. And when it comes to the ME he is failing over and over again.
As DG wrote, having troops in any muslim country for “nation-building” is a huge mistake. But to say that PDT is “failing over and over in the ME” is nonsense. Pulling out of Iran and bombing their facilities is only one example of the successes.
You have to be neutral about this and not do the “Everything is PDT’s fault” when something wrong happens. it’s funny how some people bring up any negative without ever giving credit at other times. It reeks of “resistance” tactics.
Why don’t you trust Jared Kushner?

Nuke it and leave. That won’t make it any worse that it is now and the landscape already turned into a dustbowl Islam and its goats might eventually return to what it was in biblical times.
More than 3 Americans already died for Syria you American idiot. Do you think the whole world revolves around America?
Islam is Not the Religion of Peace as we have been told by Liberals and the M.S. Media Bottom Feeders and Sewer Dwellers
They left “liberal” behind long ago, tho’ they use it themselves and love it when we do. This is the international left (AKA red-green alliance.)
Hmm. I wonder how much weight an exclamation pointed “Enough!” will carry. Daniel is far more intelligent than this. How about writing an indepth piece about how Trump is failing us and the civilized world as he has become wooed by the Islamic world, seduced by their wealth? seduced by how they’ve showered his fragile narcissitic ego with praise? making misguided decisions because he’s dangerously uninformed? moving in bad directions because fools and evil actors have his ear? changed by the assassination attempt on his life? one could go on. But whatever the reason(s), heis failing us with no indication he will awaken from this madness.
His first term was pretty good. But this timea round he seems damaged and slightly off the rails. He is putting us in an awful position which also includes setting us up for massive failure in the mid-terms and beyond.
Everyone is certainly entitled to an opinion, but those of us who state their opinions as if they were fact are helping our opponents, which includes the establishment gov./corps/media, the marxists, and the jihadis.
Millions of us disagree and are irritated at the “the sky is falling” stuff Never-Trumpers come up with every time there is a problem. State the problem and call it out, yes, but enough w/the “everything is falling apart, and it’s all Trump’s fault” rhetoric.
Well said. It wouldn’t surprise me if some of the insiders were CIA pissed about their wars being taken away. But what the fuck is Trump’s infatuation with this piece of shit Jolani anyway? Why are National Guard soldiers there? I don’t want ISIS to pay a heavy price, let them deal with their own problems.
Trump’s world of utter misguided deadly nonsense … . Period.
It’s not Trump’s world of utter misguided deadly nonsense but the professional intellectuals at the universities world of utter misguided deadly nonsense.
Trump is going by common sense but common sense is not sufficient to defend yourself against the onslaught of irrationality from the intellectuals.
“Americans are the most reality-oriented people on earth. Their outstanding characteristic is the childhood form of reasoning: common sense. It is their only protection. But common sense is not enough where theoretical knowledge is required: it can make simple, concrete-bound connections—it cannot integrate complex issues, or deal with wide abstractions, or forecast the future.” – Ayn Rand
What you actually mean is no more ALTRUISM, no more self-sacrifice, no more self-immolation, no more loving your enemy, no more turning the other cheek.
Self-preservation is the exact opposite of ALTRUISM and self-sacrifice.
Confusing “self-preservation,” “altruism,” and suicidal empathy, all of which are very different ways of dealing.
I agree David and our nation must get it priorities in order. Innocent Americans are assaulted, injured, maimed and murdered every day at the hands of known repeat criminals. We have organization’s that have been terrorizing our cities for decades. You know “organizations” the crips, the bloods etc…. The crips alone has 40,000 members. By the FBI own data there are approximately 1.4 million people are part of gangs and more than 33,000 gangs are active in our Nation. These people kill and injure thousands a year with illegal guns.
Welcome to the new and improved Syrian under reformed ISIS terrorist al-Sharaa. No matter how much lipstick to put on pig. Still a pig. I hope Trump realizes who al-Sharaa. is.
Apparently Trump doesn’t realize who he is. Trump is failing in the ME. Naive. Complicit. Stupid.
Again. Do you even see the “everything is awful, and it’s all Trump’s fault” rhetoric that ordinary Americans are so tired of? He is the president. He is not your savior-in-chief. He is fighting the “Big,” the establishment entities mentioned in an above comment —
-and people piling on and pretending (due to their own resentment) that at one year, he is now a “failure,” esp considering all the positives of this past year, does not help America.
Eye for an eye –
Can anyone give me a reason why we have troops still in Syria?
Yes, I can. It’s because the old foreign policy/DOD/intelligence establishment has co-opted the Trump presidency. They did this by appealing to his vanity-oh, how the people and the world will cheer for Trump the world peace maker, “8 wars and counting!” While Trump takes credit for peace, they continue their operations to destabilize and sow discontent and chaos. The real purpose, in addition to continue the money laundering operations, is to distract Trump from domestic policy and take him off message. To answer Trump’s question about why he doesn’t get any credit for it, it’s because nobody in America gives a shit about peace in Congo, Cambodia, or anywhere else. Deep State wins again while Trump goes golfing with Lindsey Graham.
I suspect that, due to his close calls with assassins, he has felt closer to God than he ever has, and thus takes personally what Jesus said:
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. ”
This could make him take risks that he ordinarily would not, thinking God is guiding him.
Of course lots of Americans have died for Arab countries, and Asian countries, and Latin American countries and obviously European countries–however, not an issue…only an issue when it comes to Israel…which is why Israel really shouldn’t have US bases on her soil, IMHO. Will be used against her.
