Order Jamie Glazov’s new book, ‘United in Hate: The Left’s Romance with Tyranny, Terror, and Hamas’: HERE.
President Trump rightly does not want to engage America in another “forever war” in Iran.
It is also clear that the Iranian people, by themselves, have been incapable of seriously challenging the clerical regime despite decades of non-violent protest.
All anti-regime protest movements to date have ended the same way, with the regime cutting off the Internet and slaughtering its opponents in the dark.
The latest wave of protests, led openly for the first time by Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi, was no different. The regime commits mass murder against its own citizens; the protests subside.
So can the U.S. realistically help the Iranian people to break this deadly cycle?
Ayatollah Khamenei is not simply a dictator like Saddam Hussein, Qaddafi, or Bashar al-Assad. Instead, he is the leader of a movement — not as popular as it was in 1979 when it overthrew the Shah — but a movement that still commands a popular base.
Driving them is the belief that corrupt leaders have enchained the masses of Iran and neighboring Muslim countries with a false version of Islam, and hitched their wagons to the West and its enticing materialist ways.
From the start, the Islamic Republic positioned itself as an insurgent regime. Against what? The Big Satan, America, and the Little Satan, Israel.
The slogans tell us that to regime supporters, America and Israel are colonial, occupying powers. And anyone who opposes the regime is therefore a supporter of foreign occupying powers.
This is what American leaders have failed to understand, even today. For the ruling clerical elites in Iran, they are the insurgents and the people of Iran who march and chant and die for their freedom are the colonial, imperialist occupiers. And it is why the organized Left in the West has always loved this regime.
America has been late to learn how to fight insurgencies. We failed in Vietnam. We certainly failed in Afghanistan. And we pretty much failed in Iraq, as the rise of ISIS just six years after we “defeated” the insurgency shows.
To defeat an insurgency you must defeat its ideology. In Iran, that means we must defeat the notion that the ruling clerics are defending a pure vision of Islam that the West wants to sully and destroy.
The Tehran Spring
Nearly thirty years ago, when the Iranian people elected a “reformist” president, Hojjat-ol eslam Mohammad Khatami, many in Tehran and the West thought the regime would collapse from within. They called it the “Tehran spring,” after the famous “Prague spring” of 1968, where liberal communists briefly took power and tried to reform their regime before the Soviet jack-boot stomped on them.
I brought a dissident Iranian ayatollah, Mehdi Rohani, to the Defense Intelligence Agency in Washington shortly after Khatami’s election victory, to lecture US Intelligence Community leaders on the ideological break points of the clerical regime. (I write about this in my latest book, The Iran House: Tales of Revolution, Persecution, War, and Intrigue).
His lessons were simple, but they went unheeded to this day. Khomeini, and his successor Khamanei, were not true Muslims. Their twisted interpretation of Islam was rejected by all the senior clerics in Iran, whom they promptly jailed or placed under house arrest. Most of those grand ayatollahs remain under house arrest today.
If you want to undermine the clerical regime in Iran, start by reaching out to the clergy who reject them, Rouhani said. We should heed that advice today and amplify their voices.
Make the IRGC Lay Down its Arms
But we must also defeat the IRGC, whose founding documents proclaim it to be the defender of the regime, not the nation of Iran. We defeat them by smashing their aura of omnipotence, attacking the symbols of their power and prestige so the people of Iran can rise.
We must make the IRGC believe that the mullahs embrace a losing ideology not worthy of risking their own lives to defend, by increasing the cost of their support.
We should transform U. S. sanctions against the regime’s “shadow fleet” of oil tankers into an international ban on Iranian oil, perhaps through a naval blockade, to starve the IRGC and the regime of their economic lifeblood. We should raid IRGC front companies, jail their overseas representatives, expel Iranian diplomats, and watch how many of them demand asylum.
The President and the Department of War are assembling a formidable strike force capable of delivering massive damage to the IRGC and eventually to its proxies in Iraq, Lebanon, and Yemen.
The USS Abraham Lincoln has been on station in and around the Strait of Hormuz for the past two weeks. Its carries around 90 combat aircraft, including F-22s, F-35s and F/A-18E/F Super Hornets, and long-range drones.
The President recently redirected the navy’s newest and largest carrier, the USS Gerald R. Ford, to steam to the region from the Caribbean. It was spotted on February 17 steaming through the Strait of Gilbralter into the Mediterranean.
Each carrier strike group includes five destroyers with Tomahawk cruise missiles and multi-layered air defense systems, and one or two nuclear attack submarines which have been fitted with onboard assault and insertion vehicles capable of delivering special forces teams to attack ground or naval targets, such as oil platforms.
Additional destroyers have been deployed at the U.S. base at Souda Bay in the eastern Mediterranean and in the Red Sea, while amphibious landing craft with thousands of U.S. Marines are on call in Bahrain, the headquarters of the U.S. Fifth Fleet.
The U.S. has also been airlifting supplies to regional bases in Jordan, Qatar, and the UAE, including Patriot and THAAD air defense batteries, F-15E Strike Eagles and A-10 attack aircraft, and in-flight refueling aircraft, and can call on B-52s attached to the carrier air wings and B-2 Spirit steal bombers flying from Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri.
When it comes to an eventual kinetic campaign, U.S. and allied bombs should destroy IRGC infrastructure, IRGC banks, and bomb open the political prisons, as Israel tried to do last June. We should especially target regional headquarters of the Guards, to encourage the formation of liberated safe havens far from Tehran.
General Dan Caine showed in Venezuela that he can think outside the box and apply overwhelming force to very precise targets in an extremely hostile environment. In addition to spiriting away the regime’s stockpile of 450 kg of highly-enriched uranium (enough, according to the reliable estimates, to produce at least ten weapons), we should capture and prosecute top IRGC leaders wanted in the United States for murdering Americans, including the 2,977 people killed on 9/11.
Most revolutions have traditionally begun with the takeover of the national broadcasting network. We should hack into it and turn it over to the opposition.
We should help local activists to identify key individuals involved in the repression, publishing lists with their photographs, true names and home addresses. And if they do come out in force again to shoot into the crowds, we should take them out with targeted drone strikes. The message must be clear: if you chose to be a regime enforcer, you die.
We should employ the Persian Service of the Voice of America as a megaphone for opposition to the regime, not merely a reflection of the regime’s barbarity.
This is a war of liberation, similar but not identical to the liberation of France in 1944.
We will not enter the country as a liberating army. We will have no troops on the ground. But we should help courageous Iranians who are willing to oppose this murderous regime with all means they need to secure victory.

President Trump needs to be a man of his word and keep his promise to send and use military force against the horrendously cruel oppressive and murderous tyrannical Islamic regime of Iran. This should be done for many good valid reasons. One which President Trump that he would definitely aid the Iranian people if that regime didn’t stop that mass murder slaughter of the people, which it did not.
For the protesters are patriotic Iranians who are only after a legitimate government installed which respects the God given natural human rights of the people instead of the horrifically brutal and death –inflecting “mullah regime.”
The US President should not let the Iranian people down and aid them in their righteous and just quest for a genuine government in place of that Islamic that they now suffer under in misery and deadly oppression.
If Donald Trump doesn’t come through with a forceful rescue of the people of , since he promised to help them . He would then prove himself to be a liar and not only tarnish his own credibility but also he would be putting disgrace upon the Office of the Presidency
This article , informs its reader that “Nearly thirty years ago, when the Iranian people elected a “reformist” president, Hojjat-ol eslam Mohammad Khatami,” No matter how sincere and earnest the Iranian voters were who had elected that man into Office. their hopes of reforms on the Islamic Republic of Iran , such hopes for reforms did not occur..
The reason why is because that tyrannical Islamic regime is so very diabolically evil in its very essence that no genuine reform would have been possible. As the Bible reveals “What is crooked cannot be made straight , and what is lacking cannot be numbered.” Ecclesiastes 1:1:5. [N.K.J..V.]
In regard to the later part of that verse . that Islamic tyranny of Iran cannot ever “be numbered ” as a legitimate nation which respects and ensures the basic human rights of its citizens.
What does America have to do if it truly wants to free Iran? Treat it like a target in a video game. Drone pilots for Reapers and the rest, and Naval, Air Force and Army personnel to push buttons and launch shells and missiles to their targets.
Buh-bye mullahs, islamic Republican Guard Corps, all nuclear weapons facilities (again,) dangerous military installations and hardware and all their little motor boats in the Persian Gulf.

The reason why those Muslim despots of Iran have capitulated “no matter what” is because they basely function by blind unquestioning faith in Islam and not reason.. This many Westerners just don’t understand.
For example,, about eight years ago sent a message to , the then , senator Arlen Spector about the need strong sanctions and sending support to the opponents of that hostile Islamic regime of Iran.
Later a reply an internet letter came from his office and it explained “That during the cold war with the Soviets negotiations worked with the Soviets so it should work the the rulers of Iran. ”
That “answer” revealed that the senator did’t understand that Communists are more rational then those Islamic faith -minded Muslim tyrants of Iran with their strong believe in a coming Mahdi who will conquer the world for Islam .
In other words, that Communist might respond to reason those Islamic faith blinded Muslims in power in Iran will not ..
Right on…What “Secular Christians “ do not understand is the true disciple of Christ’s utter loyalty to His teachings and our desire to be like Him… ergo, the Islamist, although wrong, cannot be persuaded by humanistic secular reasoning
Those Muslim tyrants who are still in power in that hostile Islamic regime of Iran haven’t capitulated to the demands put forth by President Trump to discontinue in their pursuit of obtaining nuclear weapons is because Qu ‘ran that instruct in deadly violence for the cause of Islam. As found in ,for example Surah 2:191. 4:89.. 5:33. 9:5, 111,112 ,123. 47:4.
As If Ayatollah Khomeini had clearly announced that “Those who know nothing about Islam pretend that Islam counsels against war…. There are hundreds psalms and hadiths urging of Muslims to value war and to fight. …I spit upon those foolish souls who make such a claim.” [1]
As the official of that belligerent and confrontational tyrannical Islamic id “The Islamic Republic of Iran .” For very foundation of the aggressive Islamic tyranny. Likewise, its dictator’s fundamentalist follower of Islam. As already explained above Islam is a violently bellicose religion. Islam is based on blind unquestioning absolute faith and not reason and logic. That is why that dictators of Iran will no cease in the jihadist /Islamic goal of the construction of nuclear weapons, no matter how many logical reasons that President trump had put forth.
[1] THE ISLAM IN ISLAMIC TERRORISM by Ibn Warraq page 339.
Is the CIA smuggling in small arms and explosive materials to the protestors? I never hear that question asked.
Regarding Iran and its passion for obtaining “The Fist of Allah” (Nukes): You don’t “Negotiate” for an outcome of “You will NOT HAVE one”. It’s an ultimatum. YOU WILL NOT HAVE ONE. Full Stop. To “Negotiate” in this regard, is only to decide “How many” and “What Yield”. “You can have six bombs of 20 Kilotons each, NOT the dozen 100 Kiloton Bombs you want.” No, an Ultimatum means “NOT EVEN ONE ATOM OF U235”!
It’s hardly believable that President Trump would be, so very foolish, as to be willing to take part in that fool’s quest of trying to have genuine negotiations of any value or worth with. That most evil tyrant Khamenei and those other despots in power in that Islamic tyrannical regime played that deception tactic of having “talks.”
\In any such so called “talks” the officials of that tyranny would only speak half- truths and outright lies.
We need to pray and hope that President Trump will wake up to reality and then immediately reject such “talks.” For Khamenei and those other despots in power in that Islamic tyrannical regime playing that deception tactic of having so called “talks.”
Furthermore, it very important to understand that it’s just far too late for any type of “diplomatic settlement’.” The reason why this is so is because the massive human carnage is so horrendous that those murderous despots of Iran must be brought to justice. Likewise, their tyrannical Islamic regime need to be destroyed.
Last, but no least important, there’s a very old Bible based saying which is “Have no dialogue with the Devil” It’s based on Genesis chapter three in with Eve talks with Satan through the serpent. The result of that dialogue was disaster for Adam and Eve and all of humankind. Likewise, Donald Trump even having any intention of having talks, negotiations, with the Khamenei of any other despot of that Islamic tyranny is the wrong move.
Trump said it and we must hold him to it…. “No more 4-ever wars”. God bless Trump and Netanyahu. Get in, bomb the fk outta them, and GTFO.
