The bidding war over Warners between Netflix and Paramount appears to have ended. Netflix decided that there was some amount of money it wouldn’t spend to get its hands on the Warner Brothers film library and its IPs, primarily the DC Comics stuff, leaving Paramount the apparent winner.
Hollywood hated the idea of Netflix killing and devouring a storied film studio the way Amazon had MGM, but every good liberal hates David Ellison because he doesn’t hate Trump. Paramount taking over Warners means that it also gets CNN. On top of CBS News. (Expect Sen. Elizabeth Warren to propose some anti-trust action in which every news program gets turned into a non-profit and run at taxpayer expense by her political allies.)
Had Netflix won, it would have had no use for CNN or the rest of the Warners channels and was going to dump them on anyone who wanted them. Ellison may well end up doing the same thing. After all Comcast just did it with MSNBC and the rest of its channel properties. But now there’s agita over the fate of CNN

David Ellison brought in Bari Weiss to try and course correct CBS News to where news programs were maybe 20 years ago. That’s a long way from right-wing and it’s still biased towards the liberal side, but the goal is to occasionally show other points of view, fact check materials, and avoid open editorializing and hysterical agitprop.
The only people who would describe this as ‘Trumpy’ have lost anything resembling standards and believe that anything short of calling for Trump’s execution and those of his supporters live on the air amounts to “giving in to MAGA.”
No, CNN is not going to be FOX News. (Not that FOX News is all that either.) It might actually try reporting the news, which was the shocking proposal made by its previous boss before he was forced out, so that it can actually be seen as a reliable source (it won’t be) by more than 13% of the country.
The changeover may be fiery (at least in the media cabal’s misreporting of it) but mostly peaceful.
There is zero evidence that the ELLISON’S will police content at all.
Yes, he seems to be the type of dick who thinks any company he runs will make money no matter how much it sucks.
He may bring in a Bari Weiss type to try and moderate it and rebuild some credibility. Don’t expect much

Star Trek is the intellectual of property of Paramount too, and used to be hugely popular but it flopped with the lackluster “Star Trek; Strange New Worlds,” went “woke” with “Star Trek: Discovery” and went full retard with “Star Trek: Starfleet Academy.” For God’s sake, Steven Colbert is one of the top stars of “Starfleet Academy,” which has been an abominable flop since day one..
Maybe David Ellison will dump Alex Kurtzman along with CNN. The world can only hope. Putzman is the non binary dweeb who ruined the Star Trek IP and should go back to producing video games. At least there are plenty of dorks who like playing video games. Not even they can endure an episode of “Starfleet Academy,” though.
Reorienting TV franchises requires clearing the bench and jettisoning the producers, writers, etc
Considering Ellison’s role in the franchise predates his takeover of Paramount, he produced the movies, I don’t know if that’s happening
Well, Star Fleet headquarters is in San Francisco, Stay Abrams is President of United Earth and Star Fleet Academy has a mongoloid cadet so I guess former fans will have to get used to the suck. And boy, does Putzman suck. If Ellison allows the beloved IP to crash and burn, he has only himself to blame. His only hope is to put out another season of “Star Trek Picard” (the third season was good) before super cool Patrick Stewart dies, and bring back Chris Pine, Karl Urban, JJ Abrams and crew for some more movies. Some good writers and producers wouldn’t hurt, either. Good writing could save this new 2026 season of “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.” Anson Mount, Rebecca Romijn, Ethan Peck and Babs Olusanmokun are all very good in that.

The number of multiple $100 billion + games that have crashed and burned in the last couple of year is amazing, and it’s because they’ve been non binary dweebed.
