One big non-Trump Russiagate question is to what extent was our foreign policy skewed sideways because Hillary Clinton’s campaign decided to come up with a Russia conspiracy involving Trump from the same guy who tried to accuse Dan Quayle of buying cocaine.
The Dem position from 2008 through 2015 was that the Bush administration had ruined our relationship with Russia and that the Dems would rebuild it again. Hillary brought a ‘Reset’ button to a photo op. Obama was caught on a hot mic telling Russia’s Medvedev that he would have more freedom to make deals with Moscow after the election.
Then Hillary’s people invented Russiagate and suddenly every good Democrat hated Russians more than John Wayne, Chuck Norris and Patton combined. Supporting Ukraine, a country that the average Dem had given roughly 0000.1% of his foreign policy brainspace to, became an urgent rallying cry. Trans, BLM and Slav Ukrain bumper stickers overlapped on Teslas.
But just as Tesla’s political variables flipped, now that Trump has begun threatening Russia, Dems may learn to love Vlad again.
Trump Escalates Nuclear Brinksmanship with Russia Over Social Media Spat – Time
‘Reckless’ Trump flirting with a nuclear crisis’ after being trolled: military expert – Raw Story
For Trump, Russia’s nuclear saber-rattling may be a useful distraction – CNN
We’ve got CNN going with the ‘Wag the Dog’ approach, but Time and Raw Story, one of those Facebook clickbait operations, going right to accusing Trump of recklessness. That was usually the liberal narrative about Reagan during the Cold War.
At this rate, if there’s escalation, they’re gonna be rallying in the streets chanting, “No War With Russia for Bear Pelts” in a month or two.
But that’s par for the course in the Oceania media where he have always been at war and appeasing Eastasia. They don’t really care about Russia or Ukraine. But they care a great deal about hating Trump.
So this could be Reset 2:0: The Next Resetting.

Here is a list of President Trump’s the policies and successes’ that the Dem’s agree with so far:
The democrats can’t have it both ways. It suggests that the democrats are amoral and that their values are fluid. Trusting such people is fraught with danger and betrayal when it’s convenient and politically expedient.
Trusting a democrat is like trusting a poisonous snake to not bite you. Give it time and fortuity and it will.
The Dem-O-Rats have always been and always will be a pathetic little bunch of total Useful Idiots
Russia, Russia, Russia, …
yell people who cannot find a former zone of the USSR and the Russian Empire on a map.
Even here at FPM, we have people who hate Russians for their past and present sins …
… but they are oblivious to the fact that the Ukrainians committed the same sins.
They also have no idea who lives in the Dombass – which is 70% Russian according to my lying eyes, and according to language surveys – but which is 30% Russian according to a poll from 22 years ago. Either way – there are millions of Russians living in the Dombass, which has been Russian for …
oh, about a thousand years.
Complaining about Pootler’s sins – supporting his allies and supplying Iran with WMD – is totally legit –
– but complaining about Pootler defending Russians living in the Dombass
just shows a complete ignorance and lack of any familiarity with the people who live there.
Do you actually know anything about Russian demographics or the history of Russia? (Aside from what K Street lobbyists say?)
You should know it’s nonsense:
1. Because Ukraine is the only WHITE nation and the only CHRISTIAN nation … that anyone in the former Western world is allowed to support –
– and keep their job, business, contract, or social media. AND
2. The people who support this war – Demokkkrats, RINOs, and “neocons”
– hate our guts. AND
3. Anyone with a brain remembers when the first one – the KKKrats – loved the “Russians”
– when they were the USSR.
Wake up and use your brains.
For what it’s worth:
I’m more or less neutral on the Russia-Ukraine till. They’ve been at each other’s throats long before any of us, our parents and grandparents were born. Given their past history, it’s unlikely that they’re going to settle their dispute anytime soon or in the foreseeable future.
Some animosities are ingrained in the culture[s] and take more than a millennia to settle and almost never to anyone’s mutual satisfaction. To this day we still see ancient hatreds being fought out with no end in sight. Islam vs Christianity is one such ancient hatred.
True.
Albeit, the “Russians” – Russian Soviets –
did horrible things to the Ukrainians 90 years ago.
Which justifies retailiation in some folks’ minds even if 90 years have passed.
It keeps the old animosities fresh.
And on and on it goes without end. There’s always some irrational justification for endless violence. The Arabs have done that for centuries under the auspices of ancient blood feuds.
Retaliation implies initiation. putin – a kgb major by rank and trade – is responsible every step of the way. He sent special forces to Crimea and Donbas in 2014 to start the killings. Eight years later he launched the full-scale invasion. Both happened under obama, who provided cover for all this.
I thought (and hoped) at the time, a couple of years ago when Russia’s latest attack on Ukraine was starting, that the Ukrainian Delegate, or Zelensky himself, would make a compelling presentation (illustrated by photos, film, and the testimony of survivors) to the General Assembly of the Holodomor–Stalin’s planned, intentional, 1930s genocide by starvation of millions of Ukrainians, in a bid for international sympathy and support; but he didn’t.
Of course, given today’s UN, it probably would have made as much difference as Haile Selassi’s desperate appeal to the League of Nations did when Mussolini attacked Ethiopia–in other words, none at all.
How many millions is it OK for Russia to kill? Didn’t they kill enough millions under Stalin? Sure, there are Russians in all areas of the Russian Empire after their Russification of conquered territory. Catherine the Great even used Germans to colonize fertile areas being contested today. That does not mean those Germans are still there and are therefore Nazis, another canard. Later tsars didn’t like them. The went to America and farmed successfully until they made Dust Bowl history.
lol, stories that make me laugh 🙂
How I learned to stop worrying and love the bomb 🙂
Speaking of which, India is surrounded by evil neighbors, Pakistan, China, Iran, and Russia. Russia is actually the least evil of India’s large neighbors, so India needs to be good friends with Russia. I remember I was surprised, walking through a shopping district in Madras, to see huge Russia males walking there too. That’s when I started thinking about this issue 🙂
