Some polls say that a majority of New York Jews intend to vote for Zohran Mamdani—and those polls may be accurate. After all, the polls give him a commanding lead virtually across the board. If you are one of the Jewish voters in New York City who is about to vote for Mamdani, you may admire his progressive values and be willing to overlook his inveterate opposition to Israel because, after all, you don’t want to be a single-issue voter. You understand that politicians employ a great deal of rhetoric but generally don’t implement the more radical elements of their programs.
Yet there are good reasons to hesitate. Lots of them. I set them out in my new book, Intifada on the Hudson: The Selling of Zohran Mamdani.
You may not be inclined to credit what I have to say here about Zohran Mamdani. After all, I am not Jewish, so you might find it presumptuous of me to address you in the aggregate in the first place. And not only that: you may doubt what I have to tell you about Mamdani and the machine from which he emerges because I also have a reputation as a “right-wing Islamophobe.”
While I personally think such labels are at best misleading and at worst actively defamatory, I understand your hesitation.
Yet I’ve also written a book about the contemporary resurgence of antisemitism, Antisemitism: History and Myth, about which Dennis Prager said: “I do not believe a more important book on antisemitism has ever been written.” Another book I’ve written, The Palestinian Delusion: The Catastrophic History of the Middle East Peace Process, has won wide acclaim as a valuable guide for the defense of Israel.
I am, in other words, someone who is deeply concerned about the Jews because I am deeply concerned about the human rights of all people, and I cannot stand by idly as an entire people is demonized.
That’s why I am asking you most urgently to think very carefully about Zohran Mamdani. Just as we have seen where socialism leads, so also we have seen where the large-scale demonization of the Jews leads. Zohran Mamdani and both of his famous and fabulously wealthy parents have been consistent throughout their public careers in their inveterate opposition to Israel and their willingness to believe the most lurid and lightly sourced charges against the Jewish state. Zohran Mamdani even says that support for the Palestinian jihad against Israel is what initially made him a socialist and galvanized him to become an activist.
You can also look at London, which elected a socialist Muslim mayor in 2016. Sadiq Khan’s London is a reliable guide to what New York under Zohran Mamdani will look like.
During his tenure, crime has skyrocketed, the native population has fled the city, and the situation of Jews there has become increasingly precarious. Many Jews simply don’t feel safe in the city anymore and cannot even be sure that the police will protect them.
This election in New York is not simply a matter of another leftist mayor following in the string of leftist mayors ever since Rudolph Giuliani moved out of Gracie Mansion. Zohran Mamdani as mayor could have a catastrophic effect upon the Jewish population of New York City, leading to a mass exodus with results that would reverberate worldwide.
Zohran Mamdani is young, bright, articulate, and passionate. He likely has a long political career ahead of him even if he loses this race. Nevertheless, those who stand to lose the most from his victory should think twice before abetting that victory. There will not be a second chance that will allow for the erasure of the damaging effects of his tenure as mayor.
The city can rebuke and reject Zohran Mamdani now, knowing what his victory would mean, or it can bring trouble upon itself to a degree that is unprecedented in our nation’s history, sinking into an illness from which it may never recover. The choice is yours. Many other cities and countries have faced this choice before, and the cautionary tales aren’t hard to find. Must New York City now give us yet another one?

I will never understand why Jews keep voting democrat. What is wrong with them?
Stockholm Syndrome and a complete lack of faith in anything beyond themselves.
As a jew I would never vote for that commie I am a Trump. Supporter
The answer to that question is answered in the book “Why are Jews Liberal” by Norman Podhoretz
That and the concept of Tikkun Olam (Repair the World), a philosophy that ultimately weakens the will to fight and gives liberal Jews a false sense of superiority.
American Jews will always vote for their own executioners.
Non-orthodox Jews believe in a mistaken understanding of Tikkun Olam. If Orthodox Jews use the term it is more about an individual observing the religious laws, following rabbinic rulings and acting in a moral manner.
It’s current use by the non-Orthodox Jews as an exhortation to get involved in social and political causes is from when the Marxists influenced the Reform and Conservative movements in order to miseducate Jews and indoctrinate them with Marxist values. Unfortunately, the Marxists were very successful and the majority of non-Orthodox Jews today have values more in line with Marxism than Judaism.
One way this can be seen in the dramatic difference between the way Orthodox Jews vote (80+% Republican vs. non=Orthodox Jews, 80+% Democratic).
They don’t. Anymore than your faith does. Jews are not monolithic voters. I don’t mind Spencer trying to help. But in a way it blames “those Jooz” again. What percent of Christians vote Democrat or Mandami.?
No one in my family, or among my friends, votes Democrat. Among 3 rabbis, present and past (varied denominations) none vote Democrat.
Here’s a tidbit for you critical Christians, my local Republican party is anti-Semitic. I heard jokes, comments, you know the type. But I never had an argument or confrontation with any of them. They know who we are (upstanding citizens with jobs that save lives in the community) there’s something on our door that can be seen and we do not hide who we are. Whenever there is an event – political or social – where there is a flyer that invites, I get a call, “please don’t come.”
Wouldn’t I vote for other party? I don’t but it’s easy to see how someone else might.
Why not clean up your own act before you harshly critique others.
“What percent of Christians vote Democrat or Mandami.?” For REAL Christians, NONE. For the majority of ‘religious’ types, they have no true moral values to protect or to restrain them. Even at that, there is NO reason on God’s green earth to vote for a self proclaimed, self admitted Marxist, Socialist, Communist Muslim. Like, duh !
But, Jews are Jews, and although I am a great lover of Israel and everything Jewish, I cannot for the life of me understand how a people that are so educated, intelligent and smart can be so dumb when it comes to politics. And it has to go much deeper than Stockholm Syndrome. ???
Rev. Roy………….<
Your standard “REAL Christians” allows you to dismiss the Christian vote for Democrats. You do not apply the same standard for counting by saying “REAL Jews.”
How can a reader of this site dismiss Daniel Greenfield’s repeated exposure of fake polling of Jewish voters that greatly exaggerates the current percentages? The purpose of scapegoating has certainly shown up even here by commenters openly and repeatedly anti-Semitic. The percent of illegal votes in this country could easily exceed the Jewish vote. Why do illegally cast votes vote for Democrats.
I don’t either and frankly I can not get anyone voting for him. NYC will die a quick death if he is elected that is for certain.
A large number of them emigrated to the U.S. subsequent to WWII. They became illusioned with the One True Almighty God, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and brought with them another god – Karl Marx. They believe in a collectivist society. It sickens me because I take Numbers 24:9 seriously and support a number of ministries that provide boots on the ground support in Israel. I am convinced of the efficacy of Biblical prophecy and believe “the time of Jacob’s trouble” is very near.
The format of this article is alarming: Singling out and addressing the nuts who say they’re Jewish but will vote for Mamdani? And these nuts are going to be reading this article? More likely mostly non-Jews and Jews who will not vote for Mamdani. A fault of the article is that it promotes making a distinction between being an American citizen and being a Jew living in America. That was Nazi Germany: Jews thought they were German citizens, not Jews living in Germany.
The ‘Jewish’ vote has always been a concocted myth.
Why not worry about the non-Jewish nuts, with their history of pogroms and massacres and crusades and inquisitions and jihad?
Throughout the ages, for every Jewish nut, there have been thousands of murderous non-Jewish nuts.
MJ, The pogroms and massacres did not come about ex nihilo. Jews carefully maintain their distinctiveness in all nations where the LORD sends them. They have a strong sense of “us versus them,” often coupled with a very positive view of the “us” and a very negative view of the “them.” You display these qualities in your comment.
Until the industrial age, every nation’s heritage people was heavily invested in farming and pre-industrial, family-centered trades. With notable exceptions, many Jews rose to power by investing in other non-land- based mercantile endeavors, like banking, tax collection, politics, etc. upon which their host nations became dependent. Their usury prohibitions did not apply to gentiles and resentment grew, especially when the Jews’ maintained their access to international capital and favored one another while their goy neighbors suffered and became economically enslaved. NOT ALL NOT ALL NOT ALL. On both sides, not all.
You seem to believe gentiles are lesser creatures, and all the world-wide expulsions and hostilities towards Jews had no cause other than unreasoning hatred. But human beings share a commonality for good and evil. This fact is recognized in Christianity, but seems lacking in the Talmud — a treatise devoted to blaspheming the LORD God in the rejection of His Person in Christ Jesus His Son. Surely this has had a part in the anti-Jewish sentiments in Christian lands where Jews settle?
Jews were to be a light to the nations (Isaiah 49:6). How do Jews believe this has been or will be accomplished? I believe the LORD has used Christian nations alone to spread His Gospel of salvation both to Jews and to all the world.
I also believe that we Christians, like the Jews, have forsaken the LORD and are in a time of painful correction and judgment, during which we must repent and plead for mercy.
the jewish nation and people are their own worst enemy . the old testament is littered with the appalling choices the jewish people have made in their past history and continue to make to this day . the next person they make a deal with , [ the antichrist ] will be almost the last deal they make . read up on it in the book of daniel , ezekial and revelation .
The progressive myth of religious inclusion.
The saying, ” an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure” is applicable here. Mamdani’s opaquely veiled hatred of our Jewish people is being siphoned through the duplicity of his progressive rhetoric to appear as socially inclusive, but it is, in truth, a harbinger of a future of violent discrimination and societal indifference to the suffering of Jews living in New York by an adherent to fundamentalist Islam as dictated in the Quran.
If we Jews help elect Mamdani, we will be participants in opening Islam’s corridor of mayhem and Islamic violence into this city.
As our Jewish people have experienced since 10/7/2023, accommodating a religious ideology whose founding “prophet” has authorized and, in fact, mandated the destruction of our Jewish people is to have been forewarned of them doing exactly what they say they will do!
We have non Jews of whom Robert Spencer is one, who are sounding this alarm on our behalf and it is my deepest hope that this genuine regard for us will be heard. If not, we will be ushering in a violent subjugation of our people living in NYC by our refusal to face a very inconvenient truth. Islam believes it is the ONLY allowable faith in submission to Allah and there will NEVER BE PEACE WITH INFIDELS (non-Muslims). It is past time for us to face this reality. A vote for Mamdani is to set fire to our religious freedom and unless we have become suicidal, voting against him is the smartest thing we can do!!
The God of socialism is greater than any other and talking in such a derogatory manner is hatred. You should be banned! There. That is the gist of NY jewry to outside analysis. The tide is flowing out quickly.
Providing truthful information about the motives canonized in the Islamic religious texts dictated by their prophet and subsequently upheld through the endless celebrations of jihad and ” death to the Jews” including by Mamdani through his rhetoric and affiliation with a known, hate-filled Muslim who was part of the bombing of the World Trade Center is not hatred. It’s just the facts!
You, however, seem to have a chip on your shoulder where the Jewish people are involved and you might benefit from taking a long look at yourself in a mirror. Would we find in that image you wearing a hijab?
Where is this “Open letter” published?
I don’t think those Jews you want to reach read FrontpageMag.
We have to pray. More. We don’t fight men, but spiritual forces.
So we have to be determined. Bind and loose. Demand spiritual disclosure.
Close doors. Cast out.
Every property muslims buy is considered muslim forever. Forever.
If something happens and they lost it – they have allah´s command of having the right to get it back.
Don’t let islam enter more of your land! Look to my poor Europe.
And most of all:
“if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
It is up to us, the believers, to make changes. But somehow, we seem to be weak and disorientated.
I think the fact Robert had to write this open letter addressing Jews pretty much confirms their troublesome voting patterns. My first wife was Jewish and her entire family blindly voted Democrat. My wife had voted for Republicans in the past, but could never admit that to her family.
I’m afraid all the letters, reasonableness, and interventions will not move the needle. If it hasn’t already moved then what is it going to take to convince this group (and others)?
Some say the polling is “fake” and Jews don’t overwhelmingly vote Democrat. I mean, if that were true, then why do we not see the “real” polling contradicting the “fake” polling?
For the sake of Jews and the rest of NYers we need to pray Mamdani doen’t win.
Someone once said.
A jew wouldn’t buy an umbrella because is cloudy outside. He waits until starts pouring and he gets soaking wet.
Sadly this is the mindset of Jews throughout history and all around the world. Just look at pre WWII Germany, Yom Kippur war or Oct 7. Mamdani is the lates iteration of the same lack of concern.
Fake smiles can get you a long way and Moron Momscummy is a perfect example of how stupid voters are.
Eat the shit you paid for, retards. I don’t live in NYC and never would so I enjoy your stupid choices. Stew in your shit, scumbags. I piss on you all the way from California.
Bitches.
.
There is the pot calling the .kettle black. I was with you, riight up to “California.”
it would be nice if they would separate NYC from the New York state, make nyc a district like DC . also let them destroy themselves maybe they to loss a lot of their population and the state of NY or the NYC would no longer control the whole state or the country like them AND Calli does now . yea also divide Cali into three states
Why not just come out and say it? Jews always make the worst possible political choices.
I do not get how any NYC resident let alone anyone who is Jewish. One has to be blind not not realize he will be the death of NYC as we know it.
I think the whole idea is for Islam to claim our most iconic city and it’s statue of Liberty as a visible symbol and statement that the great United States of America has submitted to the most barbaric system on earth. The targeting of New York City was planned as a statement of conquer. If the people of New York City allow this they will suffer and Mamdani will target Governorship next. The man that claims to hate the rich comes from a wealthy family himself. What’s his personal wealth? Want to bet he becomes exceedingly rich himself if he gets to be Mayor? Funny how that works. New Yorkers taxes will increase exponentially because that’s how socialism is paid for.
There is a Bible verse that certainly fits this Mamdani creature: Psalm 55:21 “His talk is smooth as butter, yet war is in his heart; His words are more soothing than oil, yet they are drawn swords.”
